Our experience with PHF was excellent throughout. They provided an estimate quickly and made sure to walk through the house with us before starting the job to ensure we had clear, mutual agreement about where exactly between rooms the refinishing would end, to make sure the final product looked as good as possible. PHF finished on time and the floors look fantastic!

Cristhian and his employee did a flawless job. He was recommended to me by my real estate agent Molly Abend a couple of years ago, and at that time he had done a great job on a carpet removal project to expose my 75 year old oak floors. When it came time to sand and poly the floors, I called him and he was very accommodating in providing the estimate as well as advice on different options to consider. I was concerned about dust, so he explained that the dustless option would reduce about 95% of the dust. I chose that option, and I'm really glad I did. I expected to see a little bit of dust, but if there was any, they must have vacuumed it up before I saw it. Cristhian and his employee were punctual, friendly, reliable, and did a perfect job. I highly recommend them.

We were underwhelmed and disappointed to say the least. He was supposed to come out a few days prior to the scheduled start date but had to reschedule due to challenges. So, he rescheduled for the day prior to our agreed upon start date to stain some test samples on our stairs. When the test spots were done, the colors were very far off. Maybe 60% of a match. When we asked him if we could use the same stain that was used for the railings he refused citing a bad experience. When we asked if there were other options he said that he couldn't match the railings and he would not be taking the job. No flexibility, no extra effort, no nothing. Seems to me this is a business that does things their way or you can take the highway. The company claims that they are a small company to keep their service and quality high. My interpretation is that they are a small company because they refuse to do anything that may require them to step out of their comfort zone. Just doesn't seem right that they would leave a potential customer high and dry the night before they Were to start a job. In retrospect, we should have scheduled the contractor that said it would be no problem to use the same stain. Would have been a bit more money, but a whole lot better experience.

PHF did a fantastic job. Christhian was professional, polite, honest, and hardworking. The floors came out great and he kept to the timeline that he presented us. When moving our furniture back, I dinged the floor (my fault) and he came back and fixed it for us. He takes pride in his work and took his time to educate us throughout the process. We could not be happier with him and his company, and the work that they performed. We will definitely hire again.

We purchased the home a year ago and did not have an opportunity to refinish before we moved in. Christhian was the only floor refinisher who returned our calls and came out to give us a bid. We had about 1800 square feet of floor to refinish and he was happy to do it in two jobs in order for us to continue to live in the house while the floors were re-done. We are very pleased with him and his team. They constantly kept in contact throughout the job - letting us know when they would arrive each day. He was realistic about what he could sand out and what would need replacing. I was especially happy that they took the time to clean up each day. The floors look brand new. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised at the result and I felt the price was reasonable. Although I was not able to get other bids, several people told me it would cost 1.5 to 2x as much. I highly recommend PHF.

Christian was nice and worked hard. Pricing was fair, not high or low. The real problem was the materials they used which were poor. Rather than set aside the damaged or defective and use the good pieces they used them all. This caused large gaps, missing wood pieces, weird wood colors, knot holes, etc.1

A+!! Everything went great! Cristhian gave me an estimate back in July, but I wasn't sure if I was going to have them done or not. After 2 months, I decided that I would need to have them done and called Cristhian, who was very responsive and was able to fit me into his schedule, even though I didn't give him a lot of advanced notice. He was prompt, professional, courteous and it is evident that he takes pride in doing an excellent job. He finished the job in 4 days and the floors look phenomenal! I would definitely hire Christian again, and would (and have already) recommend him to anyone who wants to have an excellent job done at a reasonable price.

PHF did a great job well worth the wait. I couldn't be happier Christen is professional and polite. He gives you a quote and is good to his word. He takes his time to make sure the floor is done correctly. Our floors look great see pic's the picture that shows the transition between a concrete floor and our new wood floor was taken the day he installed the transition piece the tape on the floor was just to remind us not to step on the new piece. Christhian was responsive and polite from his initial response to my inquiry till our last. He was very detailed on what would be done, how long it would take, and what he needed me to do to prepare for the work. He even made a few suggestions that I took and I'm glad I did. My floors were old. had been under wall-to-wall carpeting for years. We removed the carpeting several years ago but never did the floors. Stains, water marks, ugly. He did a superior job. Friends and families are amazed. I am so pleased to have found this company. Will use Professional Hardwood Flooring again and gladly recommend him to everyone.

Christhian refinished all of the hardwood floors in our home. When he came to the home to provide an estimate he was prompt, polite and professional. He provided multiple options, clearly explained what he would be doing in the home, set expectations, answered all of our questions, and provided an estimate. He arrived to perform the work on time and fully prepared. As we couldn't be in the home during the refinish, he sent pictures every night and kept us apprised of his progress. The end result was EXCELLENT. He made the floors look brand new. We are so pleased the work he performed and would recommend him over and over again!

Cristhian, the manager of the company, provided me a quote of $1,500 back in September, 2014 and his company did all the work for the same price this month (May, 2016). Cristhian gave us instructions on how to prepare the house for the work, his workers were on time to start the job and finished it earlier than expected. They did a terrific job with the floors and stairwell in our house. The floors and stairwell look brand new. Cristhian also gave us good advice on how to take care of the floors. I highly recommend this company.

Christian responded to our call for an estimate very promptly which set the tone for the entire project. As mentioned many times in previous reviews, Christian is a very good and thorough communicator. At the end of each day he would let us know when and at what time he would return. If his expected ETA changed (traffic related) he would call letting us know which was greatly appreciated. Our project ended up being a 3 phase project due to the relocation of the furniture from one room to another. Even though Christian had other projects going on he was flexible with us as to the start of each phase to meet our requirements. We were pleased with the quality of work and his crew was a pleasure to work with. The project site was kept as clean as possible considering the scope of work. Having retired after 45 years in the construction industry and working with hundreds of subcontractors, I must say that Christian and his crew at Professional Hardwood Flooring were some of the best contractors I ever worked with and would encourage anybody that needs this type of work done to use them!

As previous reviewers have said, Christian is very prompt and polite. I would also add that he really takes pride in what he does and goes out of his way to educate the customer - we aren't particularly handy and are very new homeowners, so didn't know what to ask, and Christian walked us through potential issues that could arise, helped us figured out the order of painting walls vs. refinishing floors with pros and cons on each, told us how long to wait before we could walk/ place furniture/ carpets on the newly redone floors (floors in our other rooms have darker rectangles where the previous owners' movable carpets used to be, and he said it's because they were put down before the floors were fully cured), and also explained the difference between oil and water based finishes (we chose water-based). He also started work exactly on time (less than a week after we spoke with him) and finished everything on time - despite the fact that the job turned out harder than expected. This is another area I have to give him credit - he was really quick in letting us know that under one of the rooms on the third floor, there was laminate which we didn't know about at the time of the initial estimate. That added work and raised the overall price by $200, but he was really upfront about it and sent us pictures that confirmed it. So, in all, we are quite happy with the job - we paid about $2,500, but for that we got a full floor, staircase and two bedrooms of beautiful hardwood and got rid of several layers of previous owners' remodeling efforts. We'll definitely consider Christian again when (and if) we do the floors in the rest of the house.

Christian very prompt, polite and courteous when he came to give us an estimate. Work was done on time. Very patiently answered all my questions. Most importantly, the floors turned out spectacular. They were long overdue for refinishing and I did not have high expectation that they would turn out to look as they did originally. Christian assured me they would. Honesty, I think they look better than when it was done originally. Beautiful job. The age and patina of the wood really shines through.

Christian and his team did a great job. They were efficient, courteous clean and always on time. He was very pleasant and very attentive to every detail. When they left the jobsite things were always clean. The workmanship is very good and I would recommend him again and again.

Cristhian refinished and stained the hardwood floors throughout our entire house. He did an excellent job and we are so pleased with the end result. I originally went with his company after reading all the other great reviews he has received on Angie's List. When I originally called him for a quote, he immediately got back to me and came out the next day. His price was very competitive compared to the other quotes we received. Other than the fact that he does great work, he is a pleasure to deal with. He always kept us in the loop and updated us on his progress. He also even voluntarily worked a holiday just to get our job done. In the end, he finished ahead of schedule. Overall, I highly recommend his company.

I think they could have been more thorough. There were some details that they missed. I think they rushed to do the job.

Cristhian came and gave me a very reasonable quote after finding him on Angie's List. I was out of town when the work was completed and he kept me updated every step of the way. Could not be happier with the work and customer service. I will actually be using them again in the very near future for the second floor unit of the home. I would highly recommend PHF!

Cristhian Macias, the owner of PHF, LLC, came and gave me an estimate back in September of 2014 for putting wood flooring in to replace the pet and human-soiled carpet in our dining and living rooms, and for finally getting rid of my daughter's beloved, but disgusting, pink carpet, and putting a wood floor in there. The first thing he showed me was that we did actually have an old wood floor under the living/dining room carpet, which could be refinished, and would save a lot on the cost. He said he might have to replace some sections of boards if they were really stained, which would add a little to the price (he couldn't tell without removing the carpet first), but he was confident it could be done. (I must admit, after having a favorite cat with a urination problem, I was skeptical that the floor could be salvaged.) Cristhian also checked and found that under the carpet in my daughter's room there was no finished floor, so that would have to be installed new. I thanked him for his extremely courteous, friendly and professional estimate, and put it off for several months until I could work out the details of moving out of the house, with pets, for a few days (as Cristhian recommended due to the fumes). Finally, in April of this year, Cristhian and his assistant started to work. They spent 4 days removing the awful carpets (very kindly taking care of their disposal), sanding, replacing, installing and finishing. A few sections needed to be replaced in the living room, but very few, and if he had any question about what I wanted, Cristhian called or texted me to check first. Well, all the superlatives in the other reviews of his work are true: Cristhian is an absolute artist, and a perfectionist, too. He made the old floors look stunningly beautiful, the new floor in my daughter's bedroom is absolutely gorgeous, and somehow he managed to remove the old, dirty paint on the stairs, and make them, literally, look new. I got the impression from Cristhian that even he was surprised, and proud, of the way the stairs came out, given that he had to strip the old paint off first and then refinish them. Cristhian and his assistant were very careful to protect the rest of the house from dust, and to clean up completely after they finished. I can't say enough how beautiful their work is. To say I am thrilled is a complete understatement. Eventually, I hope to be able to have the floors in the other areas of the house refinished (and will absolutely use Cristhian and PHF), but for now I just marvel at my gorgeous floors. The only drawback to their beauty is that it makes me realize how much work I need to do on the rest of the house to even come close to matching the look of the new floors. Even now (having procrastinated writing this review for more than a few months), the floors take my breath away when I look at them ... and I panic when the dog runs across them! I highly, highly recommend Cristhian and PHF!

Great Job! Christian & his team responded quickly to our request for a quote and was able to schedule the work around our work schedule. Even offered to work on Saturday if it would make it easier for us. He was able to suggest a plan that would allow us to have the job done in phases, making the task of moving furniture around easier and we didn't have to completely clear out the whole 2nd floor. Also, when we originally had him look at the job, we had forgotten about the stained area in the closet (hiding under an area rug), when we showed it to him on his first day on the job, he easily accommodated the additional work into the existing schedule, and the new wood blends in seamlessly with the existing 30+ year old floor. And after one of us needed foot surgery before the job was done, he asked if we would need any help getting the larger pieces of furniture back - now there's someone willing to go beyond the call.
