Dear Sir, I believe you have the wrong company. Any orders placed are completed within 2 months depending on the size of the project and upon searching for you, we find that you are not in our database at all. Furthermore, we were not participating with Angies List service at the time you have indicated. Please follow up with Angies for further assistance and we would appreciate you removing this review from our page as we have not done business with you. I wish you good luck in resolving your issue. Regards, Sandra

[removed member name], that is NOT the whole story. 1st, we called and called for over a month after you purchased the BIG DEAL. When we finally got a hold of you you set an appointment far enough into the future that we called to confirm the night before to ensure that all decision makers would be present including a message that if we did not hear back from you we would assume that the appointment was inconvenient and would call to reschedule. You never called back. We cover all of CT and Western MA so it is vital that we reach a homeowner the night before to confirm. Each confirmation the evening before went un answered so we were not able to dispatch our product specialist. You were even advised of the fact that a confirmation was necessary the evening before upon resetting yet still, you did not confirm. We are sorry that you are "Irate" but we are not a small "chuck in a truck" type company only visiting a few estimates a week. We are a larger, VERY highly referred and recommended company covering a vast territory so we cannot afford to drive out the distances we travel to find a "no home." We would love an opportunity to work with you where you would no doubt grade us an "A" the way most homeowners who actually work with us do. It is unfair to grade us a "D" when we explained our structure AND you haven't worked with us.

Description of Work: I bought the deal, completed the form online, then received an email to call them. When I did, they were clueless, had no idea what I was talking about & had no information from the form I completed. We scheduled an appointment. Then they called me to say that they'd had complaints about the deal, that Angie's List words the ads & people found it misleading. Since I already had an appointment I figured I should hear what they had to say. So, they came out last Friday & did their presentation. The quotes was for almost $3,000 - significantly higher than I expected. I googled the insulation & learned the savings are exaggerated and that this type of insulation should not be used in the Northeast - this mirrored the presentation since all examples he used were in Texas & Florida & noticeably absent about heating bills. Therefore, due to the cost & what I learned afterwards I do not want to pursue it. The salesman was professional, so no complaints about him or his presentation. He did say that if I did not pursue it, my money would be refunded. Last night I went on Angie's website & was clicking all over to find out how to get a refund. I filled out a form, then got an email that instructed me to click here & fill out another form- that is very frustrating. So, here I am. I hope that answers all your questions. This is my first experience purchasing a "deal." I am leery of purchasing another one, to be honest. So, I would ask that my money be refunded. Thank you.

We are sorry that we ever signed on to send this deal out. Anyone reading our reviews will find that until we sent this Angie's list worded deal out we had nothing but high marks. I find it disappointing that this member admitted that our office spent extra time to explain the deal offering his money back initially yet still decided to have us come out and as a result of that give us a C grade when we did everything in our power to be sure we didn't waste his time or money. If this member acknowledges after the presentation what we already informed in the first place, then initially why did they help us come out in the first place? As far as our office being confused this is simply untrue. There were a few reviews similar to this one prior to his call so we were obviously aware of the confusion this deal cost prompting us to clarify given the confusion previously to avoid negative reviews moving forward but this member preferred to have us come out anyway.

Description of Work: The work that I was looking for (insulation of area surrounding garage, including crawl space)is not performed by this company. They told me that they only do stand up attic space(not crawl space) and do not do any treatments of garage doors, which Deal ad led me to believe that they do.

Again, we did not write the ad, Angie's List did. Rating a company a C when we told a homeowner up front what we can and cannot do seems unfair. We even recommended and explained how to get their money back. Rate a company after hiring them and completely experiencing what they have to offer. Not because you miss understood an ad.

Description of Work: estimator came out and said if I did not have at least one hour to spend with him he could not do the estimate - I asked him 3 times to come up to my attic with me - easily accessible by stairway - and he refused - wanted to stay at the kitchen table and tell me about products beyond my price range and called his office to complain about the situation right in front of me - all I wanted was to know my options and get an estimate - this service had been done for free by CL&P for one of my co-workers so I guess I will call them to get a free estimate - I paid $99 and would have been happy if the estimate had been completed but the guy refused to go look at the attic - 3 times.

I'm sorry this member feels this way but as the manager on the phone yesterday I'd like to clarify what "really" happened. 1st we confirm the evening before the estimate to be sure that the member has set aside 90 minutes in order to properly inspect the attic, take measurements, show samples of all the options available, and work up an estimate. This woman agreed the night before or we would not have been able to visit. 2nd, she was 20 minutes late for the appointment and asked if we could just give her a quick estimate because she had to get back to work to which our representative responded we could not. 3rd As far as "trying to sell her something more expensive" that is FALSE. We didn't show her anything because she refused to give us the time needed "at her kitchen table" to qualify if what she wanted to do we could even help with. Finally what her friend received was an ENERGY AUDIT from the CT Conservation Fund that we do not do, nor claim we do. That $99 is a copay and if the homeowner purchases insulation after the official Energy audit they get a rebate of 50% off. We never claimed or offered to give her an energy audit but she pushed for a "quick estimate" that would only leave everything vague. We ask for the time and get confirmation of agreement for that time because we feel that a good customer is an educated customer. All we wanted to do was that and instead got an unfair review. Is it fair that because she rushed us through the process from the beginning and thought we were part of a program that we weren't we should endure a bad review? We simply sent out an Angie's List written and approved BIG DEAL coupon. If this woman gave us the time we asked for instead of arriving late and trying to rush the process that earned us an A+ BBB rating after 15 years in business she would have understood fully and we could have avoided all of this.

We are new to Angie's List so we are following their lead. They send us BIG DEAL coupons that they write and approve and we choose the one we like. We sell attic insulation so we chose the coupon that offered $99 for $500 "WORTH" of insulation. If we visit a home to inspect the attic and make recommendations. If the homeowner chooses a particular material that they think is best and the estimate to complete the project is $1,500, then we deduct $500 that the member paid $99 for. If they like it they pay the difference. If they don't we inform them that Angie's List will refund. Our office manager Sandra explained this to this member the day after the appointment and I personally explained it again while both of us apologized for the inconvenience. We informed him that Angie's List would give him a refund and I even gave him a direct number. We didn't write the add and were completely upfront with this member before, during, and after so I don't understand the need to write a negative review? We have: - A+ BBB rating - A on Angie's list until they sent out this coupon last week which seem to have opened flood gates - 15th year in business - LIFETIME WORKMANSHIP WARRANTY which is rare if not unheard of - Offer a good, better, and best alternative to ALL homeowners along with a needs assessment to be sure our clients get the right product - Hire a 3rd party service/company to conduct a post installation survey to allow a client to post how they really felt about our entire process without having to be judged while completing it. It is with these surveys that we truly learn what we do well and where we need to improve. - As evidenced through this very quick response, are quick to respond when our clients need follow up service. How many home improvement companies do that? I do apologize for the inconvenience and we have not only pulled the coupon, but have asked Angie's List to intervene.

This client called our office as a result of an Angie's list written BIG DEAL E-mail to their members for attic insulation. When we clarified the details of what the coupon was this member chose to shout swears and obscenities to our female customer service representative including "F" bombs. We posted a response two weeks ago that for some reason didn't get posted. We have since contacted Angie's list explaining the chaos that this BIG DEAL has caused and asked them to remove it. This member additionally went so far as to harass us on our voicemail about suing us for false advertising for a $99 deal that he got his money back for?? I was forced to leave a voicemail to sees contacting our company including leaving him our attorneys information should he wish to pursue A fruitless endeavor so not to force us to call the police to play the recording we have of his tirade. We certainly apologize to anybody that has ever been inconvenienced but to call a company and curse at a female customer service representative is unprofessional and unnecessary.

Description of Work: Met with this company at the Home Show. Expressed my interest in getting a quote for blown in attic insulation. The rep made an appointment for March 6, 2013 at 2:00pm. He indicated that the company would call to confirm appointment. On March 5th I received a call confirming appointment and was sent an email confirmation with a photo of the gentleman who would be coming to see me the next day at 2:00pm. I am still waiting and it is now March 14th. I was told that I would receive a call if the estimator was going to be more than 1/2 hour late. I never received that call or any other. I have since had this project quoted by three other companies-all of whom showed up on time. I will be using one of these companies for this project.

We certainly apologize for any inconvenience we may have caused but our records indicate that we called to say we were running behind but did not reach nor get a response back. We certainly didn't earn an A+ BBB rating or accumulate such high marks on Angie's list by behaving as egregiously as we are accused of behaving. It would have been helpful to hear Member's dis satisfaction directly from him lncase of a simple mis communication rather than publicly bismirching our good name without an opportunity to correct or explain the mishap. Despite our efforts we are not perfect, but it is a lot of fun trying.

The initial consultation was so informative - Dennis taught us everything we needed to know about windows, gutters and insulation! He took the time to answer our questions and promoted their quality products. He explained the benefits of spending a little more money on quality windows and having professionals install them so they get done correctly the first time. From there, everyone we spoke to or dealt with in the company was so pleasant and professional. The foreman (Gil) was well-versed in lead paint removal safety standards and did an absolutely beautiful job on the outside trim for the windows. He's very skilled and finished the complete install over 4 days with the help of only one other equally skilled craftsman. Any issues we had with the installation (all minor) were promptly corrected to our standards. He also installed our attic insulation quickly which was no more than a couple of hours' work. The gutters were installed in 1 day by another 2-person team that was equally skilled and hard-working. They were also a delight to work with. I'm sorry that I can't remember their names to give them a shout-out because they were very lighthearted and funny. There were some miscommunications between the scheduler and the specialists, however, which did affect our schedule. We're fortunate though that one of us is a homemaker and were able to adjust easily. We understand that things don't always go as planned, but last-minute changes can be hard for some people don't have the luxury of an open schedule. A stricter adherence to the schedule and clearer communications in regards to scheduling would have been ideal, but overall we were so delighted to work with this company and look forward to working with them again for our siding! They have quality products, a skilled and professional staff, and they're local! Definite recommendation for anyone looking for quality home improvement - worth every penny!!

Be forwarned, this company operates using high-pressure sales tactics: attempting to stay for hours, quoting a ridiculously high price then lowering it a few times, pressuring to make a decision on the spot, not giving straight answers, etc. Also, although the saleman started off the presentation by saying that they installed several different brands of windows, be prepared to receive a pitch on only one type of window (a generic brand). When pressed on the other brands that are sold, the salesman was unable to make useful comparisons with other well known window brands. The initially quoted price was ridiculously high, and was still high after he "lowered" it a few times. Also, once this company receives your phone number, they will NOT stop calling you, even after your consulatation. The salesman who called me the second time insisted that the first salesman was fired from the company, and still could not provide me a with firm quote. They simply wanted to set up a time to get their salesman back in my house. I cannot comment on the quality of work. The warranty, services, etc., seem to be somewhat impressive, however, the poor experience I had with the consultation really turned me off to the company. In the end, I thought this was a ridiculous experience and a waste of time. I have no tolerance for high-pressured sales tactics. If you want to save yourself from a high pressured & lengthy sales experience, (of the greasy "used car" salesman type), stay away from this company's sales people.

Dear Prospect, We apologize for your negative experience with our company and thank you for your feedback. Our company has done extensive research and invested thousands of dollars to learn the top reasons homes loose energy and what homeowner's can do combat that loss. This research is shared with customers upon our visit and by listening to their needs we can actually suggest products to solve their issues rather than just come in and sell a window. It sounds like perhaps you missed out on that opportunity with your rep. If any our sales reps fall short of what is expected of them, unfortunately we do have to dismiss them as was the case with the rep that was at your house. As far as follow up calls we never have a sales rep call. We have our marketing coordinator call and conduct a follow up survey with all prospects; he does not give estimates on the phone as he is not in the sales department. The most common response we gather in our follow up calls from prospects is "They learn more from our visit than they have with 3 or 4 estimates combined". As you clearly stated above your questions were not even answered. If we started off on the wrong foot our intention was to send a manager to rectify any wrong the initial sales rep had done. We are not perfect but we want people to judge us on what we do solve the problem and make it right whether they be a customer or not. We apologize and regret you did not see it that way.
