West Side Cleaning

I have been using this company for the past year and have been very pleased. I have routinely had one of their employees, Daniel, come to my home and he is excellent. Another employee, Allen, has recently started working with Daniel and he does a good job as well. They have incredible work ethics. When they leave my home, everything is spotless. They are also very thorough when cleaning all parts of my windows. I feel comfortable with them in my home. This is one business I can honestly say I trust. I highly recommend them to others.

At this moment, I have the cleanest house in the universe. It is probably cleaner today than it ever has been since it was built in 1930. The woman from West Side Cleaning worked very hard for four hours and did much more than I expected.

I didn't think my house was that big, but maybe it is ( 5 small bedrooms and 2 small bathrooms). Only one person was sent to clean and she didn't get to all the rooms. I was happy with how detailed oriented she was, which is probably what took up her time (dusting all my barware), but I would have preferred to see all my floors and blinds cleaned instead. I was not expecting her to clean my microwave - that was cool. Initially there was an issue with scheduling, so I took off from work for the afternoon, only to be told that we would have to reschedule. So I missed a total of a days work. Barbara apologized profusely, but it was a bit disruptive to my work, because she called me several times to change the time, until finally she told me we had to reschedule. When her employee came to the house she asked me what I wanted and I said bathrooms and floors to be cleaned that was my minimum requirement. The rooms she got to were clean. Overall I was disappointed that the whole house didn't get cleaned in the 4 hours or that the floors were still dirty in the rooms she couldn't get to.

Overall it went well but they ran out of time and were not able to finish mopping the floors. I was still happy that the baseboards and other dusting was completed. I will ask next time for them not to use a feather duster.

The team arrived, and since they had changed the time from morning to afternoon I was unable to be home to verbally give them my specific needs. I was disappointed because I had specifically arranged the time one month in advance so I could be there. They may not have looked at the note I left, and consequently did work in one area that I had not requested and less in another area I needed. I have used this service before, and will again, but a previous time also they did not come at the time initally scheduled so perhaps that is an issue the business could address. Having said all that, I was pleased with the cleaning that was done - everything looked spic and span, and the kitchen floor and stairway looked terrific. They stayed within the time framework we had established.

I have 1500 square foot home. It seemed to take the two men longer than usual, and they didn't complete the cleaning of my home as they ran out of time. I was a bit bewildered, but found another Housecleaner that is great.m

A team of two arrived promptly, determined what I most wanted done and what they might do if they finished those things within the 2-hour window. They went to work quickly and worked steadily. They got everything done that I had asked and even did a couple of things I hadn't thought to ask of them. I was very pleased with the results.

We purchased a Big Deal for 4 hours of house cleaning for $89, which was two people for two hours. We had recently discontinued service from another company that had been providing bi-weekly cleaning service to us for the past three years. The team arrived on time and had me identify priorities, as they said they would not have time to clean the entire house (1900 sf) in that time. Our second level consists of three bedrooms, a loft, and two full baths while our main floor has a kitchen, family room, formal living/dining room, and half bath. Having had bi-weekly housecleaners for the previous three years, I was hopeful that the team would be able to complete most of the cleaning in the allotted time, however, that was not the case. In the upstairs, both bathrooms received a thorough cleaning. The carpets in two of the bedrooms, loft, and hall were vacuumed, and the surfaces in two of the bedrooms were spot dusted (items were not removed to dust underneath). We had closed the door to one bedroom and asked that they not clean that space. I had expected the bed in the master bedroom to be made, but this consisted only of the sheets being pulled up and the pillows tossed on top. I later read in the regular cleaning proposal that making beds was by special request only. On the main floor, the crew cleaned the hardwood floors and vacuumed the carpet. The half bath was cleaned, but not to the same level as the upstairs baths had been. The furniture was spot dusted (again no items removed or lifted to dust underneath). They did not have time to clean the kitchen (other than the floor). They left a bid for providing ongoing cleaning services, which was about 25% higher than we had been paying the other company. We would be happy to pay more if we felt the overall quality was higher or the duties performed more comprehensive. Based on the initial experience, we opted not to hire this company for our ongoing housecleaning needs. The service was fine for what we paid.

Barb arrived on time and cleaned the areas we had discussed on the phone for a house that I rent. She did a great job.

Windows still shining months after the cleaning. Two employees showed up and got right to it. Price was great thru Angies promotion. I will use them again for sure..

I had them clean my windows,screens and tracks and they did any excellent job. I will have them back next year and have recommended them to others.

This company did a fantastic job on the areas they completed. However I had expected them to get more done in the time alloted.

They did a great job. The cleaner was punctual, professional, and worked hard the whole time she was in my home. I was very pleased with the job she did.

I have to say I am somewhat disappointed by my serivce. When I purchased the deal with Angies list it stated 4 hours of housecleaning for $89. My house is not very dirty to beign with. When I spoke with Barb she told me one person for 4 hours should be able to clean an 1800 sq ft home. My house basement and upstairs is only 1500 sq ft and the person sent to clean was only able to clean my upstairs which is about 800 sq ft in four hours. This was very disappointing. Although they did an ok job, there are things that should have been handled better like my hardwood floors, either the mop water was not changed or the mop was not clean as there are mop streaks all over my floors. The prices they left for cleaning my house were just for the upstairs and were pretty high compared to friends of mine that use cleaning services as well. I will not use them again.

I called and spoke with Barb and got an "estimated" quote on the phone. The quote was range, but I felt from high to low it was a good price. I scheduled an appointment for a first cleaning. I received a reminder call from West Side a day in advance and was given a 1 hour estimate of time of arrival. The two men showed up, gave my husband more of a finalized price, which was a tad bit higher than the range but I understood that Barb had given me a price without seeing the house. While we are not messy people there was about 3 weeks of dust to contend with. The two men set to work and they didn't stop. They did a very nice job. For our 1,876 square feet they worked diligently for about 2 1/2 hours. There was nothing broken and I only spent a few minutes straightening knick knacks, etc. to how I like them which is no big deal, I have had to deal with much worse over the years. Both my husband and I were very happy with the thoroughness of the cleaning and we intend to continue to use West Side for biweekly cleaning. The men were professional and courteous.

The house was long overdue for a good cleaning. I didn't know where to start. then the ladies from West Side Cleaning show up... It was really amazing how quickly my house was transformed in only 2 hours, with lots of attention to detail. I felt I was in very good hands; I was very impressed...thank you.

West Side showed up on the early side of their estimated arrival window and worked very hard while they were here. The house is very clean now. However, there were two aspects of the experience that pushed their overall rating down to a 'C'. When the two cleaners showed up, they smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, which for us as non-smokers is very noticeable and unpleasant (especially when it is in your house). Also, they used Liquid Gold on bare wood window sills and door frames which are scheduled to be painted. That has doubled my prep work as I try to clean it sufficiently to allow the paint to adhere properly. When I asked them to not use it on any other surfaces, they responded by pointing out that I failed to request they not use the product. That dropped their overall and professionalism score - it would have been simple to discuss the products they were going to use and where they were going to use them prior to beginning. Blaming me for failing to tell them not to use a product I had no idea they had, on a surface that isn't a standard target of the Liquid Gold product was poor customer service and lacked professionalism.

They were very pleasant and easy to work with.

This was my first house cleaning experience, so unfortunately I don't have a whole lot to compare it to. The owner, Barb, was great. She called me back right away, and was able to schedule a cleaning for my condo very quickly. She gave me an estimate over the phone, which turned out to be $15 less than what it ended up costing (she said she couldn't give me an exact price until they saw my condo and the amount of work that needed to be done). Overall, they were great. I have 4 pets in a 1300 square foot space, which leads to a ton of pet hair. The two gentlemen who cleaned my place arrived on time, were polite and courteous, and estimated my cleaning, which was an initial "spring cleaning", for $175. They did things that I rarely or never have time to do, like baseboards, blinds, etc... they even did a few things I didn't expect like wiping off the big stainless steel trash can in my kitchen. My husband, who wasn't thrilled about doing this in the beginning, was extremely happy with the end result. My only complaint is the price... I have a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom condo, with one living/dining/kitchen open space. $175 seems like quite a bit, and I feel like I could have probably gotten a cheaper rate from a cleaning lady as opposed to a cleaning company. However, they are bonded and insured, and I'm sure there are other pros of going with a company as opposed to one person. The owner estimated $75 (their minimum) for cleaning our place bi-weekly after the initial cleaning, and the actual gentlemen who cleaned estimated $80. We haven't decided yet if we will do this on a regular basis, as it is a little more than we were looking to spend. Overall, a very positive first experience, and I would highly recommend them to people looking for a professional company they can trust!

The experience has been great. They come every other week. We were not looking for someone to clean the entire house but rather just someone who could help us keep ahead of everything. Barb has been easy to work. She understands what we wanted and tailored her service to our needs.

They did a great job. Showed up when expected. Walked the house with me and asked questions then gave me a price that was in line with the estimate they gave over the phone. Then went to work and did a great job in a reasonable amount of time. Allowed me to walk the house and I found no issues. I'll gladly hire them again!
