PBS Heating & Air

My furnace went out on November 6th. I called a friend to get a recommendation and was given the name of PBS Heating and Air. The next morning, November 7th, I called PBS. To my surprise they arrived in less than one half hour and had the furnace repaired in less than another half hour! In my mind, this is what service is all about and would HIGHLY RECOMMEND to anyone needing service for their HVAC.

We are from out of state and had no idea of who to call. I found Gordon's business card and called him for some help or information. He not only came by our house within 10 minutes of my call and looked at our installation and was very familiar with it. He found a little yellow box and pushed the RESET button. And told us to call if it shut off again. He was extremely nice and professional and I would certainly call him again if and when we need his services. Thank you so much

We spoke to him a week before we needed the service and set up a date. Part arrived and Gordon came out when he said. He installed the unit and explained in detail how to use it. During the installation he kept me informed as to what he was doing. Installation is excellent and reflects his professionalism. The price was excellent.

He showed up on time, he took some parts apart on my furnace and was very honest, It was propane problem so he didn't charge me for service call. He is very friendly and honest.. I WILL RECOMMEND HIM.

Upon further review, the furnace needed replacing and PBS is installing while I am out of town. I will review the installation when it is completed.

We woke Friday morning to find we had no hot water and more importantly no heat in our home. I searched for a provider to help us with this problem, after all we live in the mountains in Colorado and a single fireplace is not going to be sufficient.. Our home is heated by a large boiler to give in the floor hot water heat and also supplies our hot water. We called another service provider and friends. PBS Heat and Air was recommended to us. I called Mr McIver and he explained that he was just finishing another short job and would be by right after. He came to the house, spent considerable time finding the problem. This was not a simple fix and needed several calls to the service center to track the problem. We initially thought the problem to be a faulty igniter. Indeed the old igniter was quite burned and looked like it needed to be replaced. Mr McIver also cleaned the filter, opened the vents to inspect and clean and in general went over our 7 year old boiler to make sure everything was in order. When he left the house after over an hour with us and at least another hour with the service center techs, the unit was operating perfectly. We paid Mr McIver for time and parts and thought we really like him personally and the charges were more than fair. We woke Saturday morning to find that our hot water was only lukewarm. After a hasty shower, I again called Gordon and he came over after spending more time with the Polaris Technicians and doing some internet problem solving. The culprit was a slightly defective pressure switch which he repaired at no further charge. Mr McIver is going to replace this switch early this coming week. He refused further payment and is only going to charge me for the cost of the part when it arrives. It went very well. I appreciated the explanation which came with an onsite demonstration so that I could literally 'see' what he was talking about. I asked him several questions which he went to great lengths to answer thoroughly. Further, he recommended a better replacement option for my current CO2 detector, which I was not aware was no longer viable. Since he didn't have to perform any adjustments or repairs, he did not charge me for his time; something I greatly appreciated! :-)

Gordon was punctual and got right to work inspecting our old heating system. We were wondering if it would work another season. Gordon found the unit to be old, but very clean and functioning properly. Since we know we would be replacing it eventually, we had numerous questions regarding different kinds and types of units, efficiency, etc. He was extremely knowledgeable and spent a lot of time explaining many things to us, including how to get on a website, like Trane for example, and search out the different systems in order to give us more information about what kind of unit we would want when the time comes. Another issue we are facing when we do have to replace our heating unit is that it will have to be placed within our condo, not in the crawl space as it is now. Gordon spent time going over with us possibilities of where a new unit could be placed and discussed pros and cons of each. Obviously, we were very pleased to learn the unit was working properly at the time, but really appreciated Gordon spending time with us regarding new units. Overall, Gordon was very professional, courteous and allowed us ample time to ask questions and get information. We would definitely recommend him to others for their heating and a.c needs.

Without a doubt!!The repair was going to be costly, I knew that, after all it is on a Refrigerated cooling unit. I also knew that my rural location was also going to add to the cost but PBS Heating and Air worked with me and charged me a fair rate. So to me that set the tone of what kind of customer/service provider relationship I was going to have. An inspection was done to see what the problem was and we found out that the unit's compressor was not working. PBS took it upon themselves to not only order the part but find out if it was still under warranty making sure more money was saved on my behalf. It took a few days for the part to come in but PBS came back out, drained the freon in a canister and not into the air and proceeded to replace the worn compressor. All this while still taking the time to explain what he was doing while I sat and watched him carry out his duties.Was I impressed, YES! Would I call PBS again, YES!! would I recomend PBS, Without a doubt.

Gordon quickly identified the primary problem with the furnace and the root cause for this problem. He did a good job (maybe a bit too good) of explaining the problem and his proposed repair. With my OK he then quickly completed repairs to resolve the problem and get the furnace working again. I double checked for any return problems a few days after the repairs were made and all was working correctly.

Gordon was very responsive. The timing was terrible because of New Year's and extremely cold weather. We needed to leave town on Monday. Gordon was able to replace the part and have our heater working again by late Friday. We were able to leave town as scheduled on Monday knowing our pipes wouldn't freeze while we were away.

We had been having trouble with our furnace off and on for a year. We replaced our thermostat 2 times and still it didn't work. After paying for one service call that didn't fix the problem we called Gordon. He came promptly and checked everything out. After finding the furnace worked he thought there might be something in the exhaust pipe. He cut it apart and found a bird! Problem fixed after a frustrating year.
