PBS Heating & Air

The techs didn't finish the job and I found a water leak and had to repair it. The techs forgot to hook some hoses up and if it wouldn't have been caught it would have ruined a section of carpet. I left an e- mail about it and Gordon called me and offered to refund the labor cost and I told him I would settle for half of the labor cost and I have not seen a check in two months. Othe then the forgotten hoses the service was decent.

The service provided was prompt and professional. Gordon was very knowledgeable in this field and he explained what was going on and why the problem existed. He then provided the fix necessary, just in time for the winter weather. The cost for the service call was appropriate and I would defiantly use him again.

I already had the parts so the install went quickly. He seemed very knowledgeable regarding in floor heat. I would definitely call him again if I need help.

I called PBS Heating & Air to come look at our furnace to see if it should be replaced. It is 18 years old. Gordon arrived on time and spent over an hour with me explaining how everything works and that I did not need to replace the furnace. I was impressed with his knowledge and the fact he did not try to sell me something I did not need. I will definitely call PBS Heating & Air in the future for service. I highly recommend them!

The thermostat replacement went very well and quickly.I need an emergency thermostat replacement due to improper work done by a different local contractor PBS heating and Air responded to me very quickly and on short notice. Our home is 122 years old and It is my 80 year old disabled and house bound mother and myself 60 years old with MS. I have major body temp sensitivity and need this done asap.Gordon McIver The GM, came to our home with the needed device and had it installed within minutes. He was very professional, friendly and very courteous.He practiced proper social distancing and wore a mask for our safety. We greatly appreciated that.We highly recommend Him and PBS. We have found our guy for the future. Mr McIver is a class act.

Outstanding service for almost 5 years in a row now. As has been the case on every occasion, PBS is on time (very unusual to find with many system technicians in Pagosa, especially during hunting season), courteous, very efficient, and they do such a wonderful job explaining to my elderly (and slightly crazy) mother-in-law the problem, what caused it, the best way to repair at the best value, and best of all... the importance of PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE! They are excellent at explaining systems in layman’s terms and giving advice on what the customer should be doing themselves to keep their own system at best performance. Very honest and very professional. I wouldn't accept anything less for my mother-in-law. Highly recommended if you want your family to have the best!!!

Mr. McIver came to our rescue promptly on the day I called them as we had no hot water. As I was unfamiliar with the boiler that heats our home and water I was unaware that their was a reset button on one part of the device. Mr. McIver patiently showed me how to reset the boiler if this kind of incident occurs again and outline for me the various possibilities as to why the system had needed to be reset. He only charged me half of his usual service fee. During our discussion he indicated that over the years (he's been in the area for a very long time), that he has found it to be a good business practice to act in the best interest of his customers even if it means that they would spend less money. That kind of integrity really goes a long way. PBS will be the only firm I use for any needed HV/AC needs that may need attention in the future.

Excellent. Gordon ANSWERED THE PHONE ! After 20 years in this rural mountain community, we're used to answering machines and (often) a callback in 2-3 days. Gordon came the same day, made a tentative diagnosis & said he'd prefer to speak with the manufacturer to confirm his suspicion that the main control board needed to be changed. Came back the next day to try the less expensive of 2 possible solutions ... it worked for 36 hours, then failed again. Gave us the choice of procuring a new control board ourselves (which we did). Returned when he said he would & fixed the problem in about 15 minutes. Working fine now ! Gordon is courteous, clear and RELIABLE. We've already asked him to fix a different problem.

I just popped in to the PBS shop and talked with Shawn who was in the shop working. He told me he would be able to come by the house in about 45min. As promised about 45min. later he came by the house, diagnosed the problem, performed some required maintenance and told me the unit needed a new thermostat. He let me know what my options were for a new thermostat and after I decided on the new thermostat he said he was going to grab a bite to eat, swing by the shop, pick up the thermostat and return in 1hr and install. 1hr later DONE DEAL!!

Outstanding service. Service tech was polite, intelligent, well spoken, and did a great job explaining what he was doing and why. Heater had stopped working in the middle of the night. Called the next morning and he arrived in about an hour. Had to order a part (which arrived very quickly) but got the heater working temporarily as the outside temp. was very cold. When he brought the part back, he installed it within minutes and left his work area clean and tidy. Great service. Honest and reasonably priced. I will use this company again and highly recommend them.

Gordon showed up when he said he would, explained what the problem was and fixed it. He came back the next day to make sure it was working and discussed doing further maintenance this summer, to insure this does not happen again. Excellent!!! Gordon answered the phone on the first call and immediately scheduled service for the next day since it was not an emergency. He arrived precisely at 4PM, as he said he would. He inspected the system and explained what was causing the unusual noise we were concerned about. He also gave us a complete orientation of the boiler system, told us how it works, and showed us how to monitor and maintain the system for best longevity. He was very polite and professional and told us how to contact him 24/7 should we ever have an emergency. We will definitely recommend him to others and plan to use his services exclusively.

)Gordon was very knowledgable and professional. He had a universal part in the truck and adapted the wiring to the old plug. The time it took him to shut off the gas, dismantle the ignitor, and install the new one was about 30 minutes. We had been without heat for several hours as the furnace had quit in the early morning hours. I called him at about 9 am and he arrived promptly about two hours later to diagnose the problem and install the new part. He cleaned up the area. I was very pleased with his work, speed of installation. The price was reasonable. I appreciate his work, professionalism and would recommend him to others who need his service in Pagosa Springs, Colorado area.

First, he answered his phone personally on a SUNDAY. We were desperate to have someone fix our heater in very cold weather. Gordon showed up in about 30 minutes, exactly when he said he would. He got to work immediately and did some routine trouble shooting and when he found the problem it was a mere matter for getting the parts out of his truck (fully stocked) and replacing it....good as new! We are very happy with his prompt and friendly service and I would recommend him if you need to have regular maintenance or a repair.

Everything went very well. The provider had problems with his service van that day but still showed up later in the day to replace the part on our furnace. He apologized for the delay and was very professional. He only charged me half the cost of the service call. It was one of the best experiences I have had with a service repair person. We called because the ad said "we answer the phone," and Gordon, the owner did. He also tried to diagnose our problem over the phone to save us an out of town service call. (We're about 30 minutes out in the country.) When that did't work he scheduled a 9 :00 A.M. visit, called the next morning to say he might be just a few minutes late, but wasn't. Gordon diagnosed the problem in no time at all, fixed it quickly, and gave us some great maintenance advice - e.g., turn off the power at the box before we put our hands inside the unit to change the awkwardly located filters. He was very competent, charged exactly what he said, was polite & an all around nice guy. We'd call him again in a minute. Oh - he has a sweet 3-legged dog that came along. :-) Gordon says right up front that he is not the cheapest (although I'd call him reasonable), but he's the best. I believe him. Well worth the few extra bucks!
