This was an emergency call. Rich, the tech was fully booked but arrived at 9:00p.m. so we would not be without heat overnight. Very thorough & efficient. Definitely went the extra mile for us. Have been very satisfied with the service we receive from 1 hour H & A.

My experience with One Hour has been severely disappointing. When I first had my new, and very expensive, furnace and air conditioner installed, the crew was out my house for over 12 hours installing my new system when I was told it would take no more than 8 hours. They had to cut a hole in my wall to run the wiring of the new thermostat, which I approved them doing. However, after having to call multiple times to schedule for someone to come and fix it, the person who came back out put a grate over the hole instead of patching it. Furnace was installed on 11/11/15. A few days later I had my vents cleaned, and my roommate's Beats headphones turned up missing. After multiple conversations we finally decided on splitting the cost of replacing the headphones, which I am still moderately unsure how I feel about that situation. Right after the install, I went to turn on my furnace and my humidifier created a waterfall in my laundry room because the filter was not fully installed. I turned off the furnace and called and had service come out to fix the issue. In March 2016, I had a guy come out to do the A/C start up and furnace inspection covered by my Direct Energy plan. The next day, my house temperature dropped to the low 40s and I discovered that my furnace wasn't turning on. I called and they came back out and during the tune up the technician turned off something inside the furnace so it was not functional. A few weeks ago, I had my scheduled furnace tune up. Mostly as a joke, I told the technician to make sure he did a thorough job because everytime they come out I have to have them come back. Technician did a good job and covered his basis. However, shortly after, I noticed that my thermostat wasn't turning on. I called back and sat on hold for 5-10 minutes. Person who answered the call was very friendly, and tried to call the dispatch to have someone come back out, but they were not able to get a hold of dispatch. She told me they would call me back ASAP to get someone out to me. After waiting 1 hour without hearing back, I called back and got ahold of the same person. She called dispatch again and the person she talked to supposedly was just about to call me back and redirect someone out. I explained to her again about how I'm tired of having to call you guys back out. Brought all of this up to their Ops Manager and let him know this is why I would never use them again and why I wouldn't recommend them. No action was done to fix the situation nor did they ever apologize for all the issues. STEER CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY! THEY ARE NOT WORTH WHAT THEY CHARGE YOU.
Description of Work: Replaced furnace, thermostat, installed humidifier and new air conditioner, multiple service visits, plus vent cleaning.

I haven’t had any problems with any of them. I don’t have air conditioning but I do have a furnace. They come out every year. I’ve used them for years. It didn’t cost me anything. I’m a member of there and if I don’t get any parts, it costs me nothing. It’s very good. They’re always good and I never, never had anything bad. They’re very courteous. They cover their shoes when they walk in. There’s no complaint or whatsoever about them. I can’t say anything wrong with them so far. I’ve used them for two furnaces since I’ve been in this house and I’m still with them so they got to be doing something right.
Description of Work: I used One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning. They checked my whole furnace. They checked if it is working. They checked the thermostat. They didn’t miss a thing. They put new batteries in my thermostat. They checked the ratio and it’s operating at 99%.

When I got a new toilet, I bought the combo "service agreement" which included HVAC also. I knw I had a 20+ year old system, so I wanted the inspection, etc. 2 months into the agreement, One Hour called and wanted to do the HVAC Inspection. Sounds good. Seemed professional and competent. But then put the "fear program" on to convince me to buy a new furnace and AC. I was convinced, but wanted to do some research (obviously - for a $15K purchase, it's not an impulse decision). The representative was totally NOT open to letting me think about it. It was "now or never" to get the deals, and "efficiency discounts". I told him "You guys are on the list, but I need to do homework (e.g. which brands of furnace are good, which companies have good reputations, etc). " Bottom line: a) One hour was $4k higher than the eventual choice I made b) One hour never called back. Apparently, if you do not buy "one the spot" they do not want your business Bottom line: DO NOT BUY ON THE SPOT from these guys!!!!!!

They come out and Cory measured every window floor space door everything and said this unit would be the one we need and we would have no issue anywhere in the house to get it with in 5 degrees of the thermostat. it was 15 - 20 degrees hotter upstairs in the summer, at the time we had no kids so were only worried about the mater bedroom. We bugged them enough that two years later we finally got them to add a mini unit in the master bedroom, Now we have a kid and his room is hot as Hattie in the summer. There membership deal has them come out twice a year to inspect there equipment and finally spring of 2013 they hired a guy that knew what he was doing and he saw the whole house humidifier was installed backwards. Oh did Cory get mad at him for bringing it up. Not sure if he still has a job cause they had to come out to install the correct one. So for the correct install they tried to sell us a $1,500 thermostat. On Easter morning that thermostat said it was 106 degrees out side at 7 am. So glad I didn't pay for that but they had to throw it in since they needed that for the new humidifier. Every time they come out they find something they did wrong and try to charge me for it.
Description of Work: New furnace and AC, sold us the best of the best they were selling with warranty's and whole house humidifier. We even bought the yearly membership for them to come out and check there own products out twice a year for the last 5 years.

I wish we had checked Angies List before hiring this company and purchasing an annual club membership ($220) and doing work with this company. In retrospect, I feel the first visit was used to sell their club membership, and the second visit was meant to sell us an entirely new unit. During the second service visit, the following recommendations were made: replace RUSTED condenser coil, locate and repair a refrigerant leak, clean the blower, charge the unit with freon and install an electronic air filter (ttl est. $2600). Their alternate recommendation at this time was to replace the entire unit (only SEVEN years old), stating that "this is a lot of $ to invest in an inefficient system and before throwing $ into these systems to look at other options." We later hired a tech from another company who when asked if the unit needed to be replaced told us "absolutely not!" and then fixed the unit at a much more reasonable price.
Description of Work: One Hour came out twice. The first time (9/11), they cleaned the blower and evaporation coil, replaced a pitted contacter, treated the coil pan for mold/ mildew. Installed a new start kit, claiming the unit was drawing too many amps. Sold us a club membership. Second visit (4/12), made a list of recommendations and planned to schedule us to meet with one of the company's comfort advisors about replacing our SEVEN YEAR old unit. After declining the list and a meeting, they performed a tune-up, washed the condenser coil and changed the filter.

I believe we could have repaired our 12 year old furnace and a/c without purchasing a new system.
Description of Work: Called for service on unit and repair person stated my unit was shot as it was 12 years old. offered a unit at $2,700.00 and we agreed. next day different people came and they couldn't understand why the first repair person wrote the deal on a brochure he left us. New repair people explained we would need to spend $5 to $7K in order to get service as our A/C had the wrong fluid and may not be available in the future. A manager came to our home and bumped us to $11,500.00 and we went for the most expensive unit because of the lifetime warranty and stainless steel sounded real good. The manager also offered to give us a very expensive control panel he said was around $400 to $500. The manager also sold me on the unit because it was an Amana that Goodman Co purchased. I debate this price of the panel they installed. We had a real warm day so we tried to turn on the air and nothing happened. The inside temp showed we were not getting any cooling. I called and the receptionist took approximately six minutes to get me set up for an appointment and she then informed me I could be charged $89.00 service call if they find nothing wrong with my system. Several days later a tech came to our home and he stated the unit wasn't set up properly because we had it installed during the winter and it was to cold to perform any and he could not do the procedure. He then set up a service call for several days later. On the day of our nine AM appointment I noticed they were late. I got a phone call from a tech and he stated the tech was sick and they could not show up for the service call they had set up. We rescheduled for next week same time.

They called promoting a deal on a cleanup/service for my furnace/AC, which I scheduled to have them do. Boy do I wish I had checked Angie's List first. They guy who came out said I needed to have both my furnace and AC replaced. Said the heat exchanger was toast on the furnace, and the motor and fan were completely burnt out on the AC. I called another company for a second opinion and estimate. They said both units just need a good cleaning. I paid One Hour to do that, and they pretty much did absolutely NOTHING other than a sales job. And what they quoted me was way out of line too. The estimates quoted by ONE HOUR: A/C: $7538 Furnace: 7500 - 2000 for getting both replaced Other Company: About 7500 for both. Not sure how these guys stay in business. I highly recommend Fort Collins Heating and A/C. They came out and were up front and honest... said both units had many years left. This company is just a total scam... DO NOT USE THEM!... you have been warned.
Description of Work: They were supposed to service my furnace and A/C... they did neither. Just did a sales job to try to get me to replace BOTH units!

This company, the plumbing part of it was okay, Benjamin Franklin plumbing is fine. One hour heating & A/C are rip offs. The guy that came out to "service" my furnace told me I needed $800 in improvements to just bring my fairly new furnace up to grade. He flipped out a list of prices and problems, he was a fast-talker. I called Ft Collins plumbing & heating to get a second opinion, for $70 they told me everything was fine and that they taped up something that One Hour left open. My second experience was the air conditioner service. He came, I told him not to give me a list of things that need done, it's a newer unit. He didn't tell me anything was wrong, but the NEXT DAY it stopped working. Then I had to pay $270 to get it "fixed

While the senior tech was explaining the issue, another tech was doing something to the unit, Turns out, he was disabling it, The senior tech told me that "company didn't allow him to reassemble it," however, he didn't red tag it, leading me to believe that there really wasn't eminent danger. He gave me a high pressure sale, which I denied. The temperature dipped into the teens, and I had to borrow electric heaters from friends. The next day, I was able to get the unit back up and running, with the help of a licensed HVAC friend, who used a CO2 detector after fixing the damage, which read 0.00. The unit worked fine before they "inspected" it.
Description of Work: One hour was sent out for a 'free inspection' that came with the purchase of a non-related appliance. The tech used the camera and found pock marks in the heat exchanger, and called in a 'senior tech" who had a 'better camera'. He showed me a blurry image of an alleged cracked heat exchanger.

I joined Angie's List and we called Northern Colorado who is now Specialized 72 Degrees. He came out at 9:30 p.m. and the first thing he did was check the furnance, then the airconditioner. He installed a pan treatment to prevent molds and to unblock water that was backing up around the coils. He couldn't find anything wrong with the air conditioner, but he suggested that we run the system different. We are a two story - main floor and finished walk out basement. We have closed the vents downstairs in the summer because it gets too cold. He recommended that we open all vents in the system and run the fan 24/7 to distribute the air throughout the house. He said the cooler air downstairs will circulate up and we will have a more even temperature thoughout the house, plus he said it will cut down on the amount of time the compressor runs. We have done that and our house is cool and I have less dust. He said your air conditioner is 13 years old, so in a few years you will probably have to replace it, bit for now it is fine.I called One Hour and complained that they didn't make a service call, but a sales call and that I should not have had to pay a fee for a sales call. He said they guarantee satisfaction and would refund our $89. When it didn't arrive and my check had clearned the bank, I called again and the check was in the mail the next day.The whole episode left us with a very bad feeling that they were trying to take advantage of two seniors. I give them credit for finally refunding our money, but I will never use them again, nor recommend them.
Description of Work: We thought our air conditioner wasn't cooling properly, so we called One Hour after looking up the brand of our equipment. There wee at our house on time, they came in and moved our thermostat to 70 degrees and went outside with my husband to check the unit. He spent less than 2 minutes looking at the unit, told my husband that the air conditioner was drawing too much amperage and that the air conditioner could not be saved. He came in and proceeded to tell us we needed a new airconditioner and that he recommended that if we are replacing the air conditioner, we should replace the furnace and get a state of the art system. He gave us two options, one at $7640 and the other at $9015. I told him that we didn't spend that much money lightly and asked the he provide a written proposal and let us think about it. He first told me that they didn't do that, to which I replied, then we don't do business with you. He reluctantly started writting up something, gave it to us and left. When we looked at it all he stated was putting in eqipment at the prices he quoted, but contained NO specifics like brand names, or anything that we could compare with other units.

I think I found them through an advertisement and I got them that way. Basically they guarantee services within an hour if there’s an emergency. I’ve been using them for probably about eight or nine months. I had a couple of things going on. They not only do the furnace, but they also have a programme with a couple of other companies that are into plumbing and electrical services and they are all related. So I get a monthly plan basically for all the three services. I don’t remember how much I spent on their last service. I was satisfied with the outcome of their services that were provided at the time. Their pricing is probably a little more expensive but I’m willing to spend a little more because I know that they’re with the Better Business Bureau and I trust them. I will use them again in the future.
Description of Work: I used One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning Loveland. I last used their services about six months ago. They checked my furnace. It was just a general service check up for my heater. There was some corrosion in the furnace itself and so they had to clean up in sects. So they went ahead and did that too.

I then proceeded to get three additional quotes from other companies and educate myself. The first company came out, mapped the entire house and recommended a furnace that was rated higher (according to my internet research) and gave me a quote that was $1000.00 less. Told me that my furnace was old but he doubted it had a crack in it. The second company came out took a look at my furnace, did a CO2 reading on it which indicated there is basically no CO2 present and that the probability of a crack is highly unlikely. He quoted me the same exact furnace that One Hour had quoted for $1900.00 less. The third company came out and actually put their camera in my furnace just as One Hour had and I watched the tech go through each row of my heat exchanger. The picture from this companies camera was bright and clean and I could see everything very clearly, unlike the One Hour Camera that was dark and shadowy. After we looked through the entire inside, the technician informed me that it was his experienced opinion that there are no cracks in my furnace. One Hour will never be invited back into my home, It's just not worth having to decipher if they are being honest or not.
Description of Work: One Hour came out to do my annual cleaning and maintenance. They were on time, clean and friendly. Moments into the appointment they explained to me I had two cracks in my heat exchanger and asked if I would like to see it. I looked on their monitor, but not knowing what I was looking at had to trust their diagnosis. They finished cleaning my furnace and shut it off stating that if I wanted heat I would have to turn it back on myself for liability reasons. They then proceeded to tell me about furnace options and did the high pressure sale to get someone out the next day. I initially agreed but later called and cancelled remembering the high pressure sales job I had received the year before from their tech and just not feeling comfortable.

My experience with One Hour Heating was like spending time with Chcken Little--the character in the children's story who runs around yelling "The sky is falling!" I scheduled an appointment for a furnace and AC tune up. Within minutes of opening up the furnace unit, the technician had pronounced that the unit was on its' last legs and would need to be replaced. The technician spent a total of two hours going over the unit, showing me "problems," and pressuring me to buy a new furnace, AC, and air filtration system immediately---to be installed the next day, in addition to pressuring me to sign up for their "club"--money due immediately, in order to get "the best deals." When we reached the part of the process where we would choose an actual model of a new unit, the technician flipped pages in a laminated book with units and prices. We were given no literature whatsoever. We were encouraged to make the decision immediately, but when we said that we needed time to think about it, we were given an additional TWO calendar days. Alarmed by the high-pressure tactics, my husband and I decided to get a second opinion. The representative of the second company told us that yes, the unit was old, and yes, it had a limited life span, but its' death was not imminent. He then made an appointment with us for a week in the future to discuss the appropriate unit for our home. I don't at all consider it unreasonable to expect time to ponder a purchase that will end up being approximately $10,000 when all is said and done. The bottom line is that we have not yet decided whether now is the time to replace our furnace and AC, or whether we will let it limp along for a little while longer. But we do know that the high-pressure tactics used by this individual from One Hour Heating will guarantee that we will NOT deal with that company in the future.
Description of Work: Supposed to be a funace and AC tuneup. Technician didn't perform tuneup, instead evaluated to sell us a new unit.
