Description of Work: I have used Ron for all appliance repairs from double ovens, wine unit and under-counter ice maker. I wouldn't trust anyone else. He takes into consideration costs and time with a repair and will give you an honest opinion of what should or should not be done. When I call them I know I will be getting Ron rather than an apprentice. And Jo is very friendly when taking my calls and setting an appointment.

Description of Work: I found this company through Angie's list. They responded so quickly to my phone call to fix my Washer and Dryer-loved that! I described what was wrong with my washer-I gave them the model number and they pre-ordered the part that was needed for the washer-they diagnosed it before even coming out to fix it-that is so nice! Aaron came out to fix my washer and dryer-he was dressed very professional and was very knowledgable. He have me a quote for everything before he started to repair the units.He also provided good advice on how to care for my aging washer and dryer and the price to fix everything was very reasonable. I highly recommend this company-the communication was excellent throughout the process-they called when they said they would and I liked the repairman. This is the company I will always use for my appliances!

Description of Work: Saved money by taking the microwave to their shop. They did an evaluation, told us the cost, got the parts, fixed it and called us for pickup. Think the microwave must have had problems from the get go as it it quieter now than it ever has been. Replaced the fan. The location is a little out of the way, but they seem worth the travel. Competent, reliable, fair.

Next day they called with replacement part price, installation cost and approximation of wait time for part. I OKed. One week later, they called to arrange installation. Within 2 days they arrived and installed new blower. Everything on-time and on-estimate

+ -1 moreOur range displayed an error code, and we contacted Academy based on their good reviews. Their technician, Aaron, came out and diagnosed the problem. The part would have to be ordered. Later that day, their office called and told us the price of the part ($200) and asked if we wanted to proceed with them ordering the part and performing the repair (nice that they gave us the option). We told them "yes". Once the part was in a few days later they called and we scheduled the repair date. Aaron came back right on time and did the work. He even offered to clean behind the range since he had it pulled out (we took him up on the offer!). All in all, a good experience! The range works now!
Description of Work: The "motherboard" on our Kenmore range failed, and needed replacing.

Description of Work: Company came out to look at a dishwasher problem. Problem didn't need a specific repair but they gave recommendations for fixing the issue.

Description of Work: The serviceman came to repair our 12-year old Maytag washing machine. It needed a major part that he didn't have with him and didn't know the price of. He left and, as promised, called us back with the cost. Since it would be over $400, he said it probably would not be worth it for a machine that old. We agreed, and sent him a check for $49 to cover his service call fee. His frankness and objectivity were appreciated. We will definitely use this service again if the need arises in the future.

Description of Work: We were having a bad gas smell when the oven was on. The repairman did not find anything wrong, but noticed that we had some aluminum foil that was covering the vents. He also made some small adjustments.

The manufacturer sent an incorrect part the first time and Academy kept me informed with regular calls. The work was completed for the estimated price and "on time" after the correct part was received.
Description of Work: Repaired a small "Vinotemp" wine refrigerator that was out of warranty.

+ -1 moreThree days was the first available time (air-conditioning/hot weather appointments). The service guy called in the am to verify the appointment time and was on time that day. He found the problem and needed to come back with the parts the next day. He also checked my dryer as it did not seem to be drying properly and found that I had a bad heating element. He was very informative about GE products and their common problem.
Description of Work: Washing machine overflowed; called around for first available service appointment.

+ -1 moreRepairman showed up right on time. Figured out problem and fixed during initial visit. Had necessary parts on truck. Repairman was very professional and friendly. Initial scheduling with office staff was a little difficult.
Description of Work: Our side-by-side fridge/freezer wasn't making ice and the water on door was coming out very slowly. They replaced icemaker and corrected water flow problem.

+ -1 moreThe repair, when all necessary parts were replaced, was successful. The repairman was competent and courteous, and knew immediately what the problem was and what parts were necessary to correct the problem. The repairmen arrived when scheduled.
Description of Work: Academy Appliance repaired my Whirlpool clothes washer. The repairman had the essential parts on his truck, so that the unit could be basically repaired without a return trip. However, when the washer was used after the repair was completed, it still made noise and Academy came back to replace another part. As is reasonable, we were charged for the additional part, but there was no additional labor or service charges.

+ -1 moreThey came out and looked at my new refrigerator and the guy was so friendly and professional, did some testing and told me what was wrong with it. The condenser was locked / froze this type of brand and size had a history of this issue and it would cost more then what the refrigerator was worth to replace the condenser. The manufacture would reimburse me for the cost. I told him that would take weeks! I need it now and suggested I take it back to the store I bought it. I talked with them and they exchanged it with a new. It works beautifully. I will definitely use this company again very pleased.
Description of Work: Bought a new refrigerator from home depot, when I got it home plugged it in it did not chill. They sent out a service company to look at it / repair it.
