Ron called back promptly, set up appointment, called when on his way, got here on time and fixed the problem within half hour. He was great, friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. The cost was very reasonable. I have used Academy Appliance Repair in the past and would use only this company in the future.

The lady that answered the phone was extremely nice and concerned about my situation when I called. They got me scheduled the same day I called regarding my washing machine. Ron came within 2 hours after my phone call. Extremely professional and nice. Knew exactly what the problem was. Fixed it within the hour and also looked at my fridge as well. All I needed was the temperature to be changed. Would definitely use them again.

Fixed the dryer and explained everything so that i could keep a look out in the future. Great work!

My opinion only. Prior to calling Academy, two well rated Applance repair companies told me up front, they don't have the equipment to service Bosch. I greatly appreciated their honesty I called Academy. I asked them if they have the abiltity to service Bosch. I was told yes. I gave them the make and model and year of the Bosch. we made an appointment for next week. A few days later Academy called and said they could repair the appliance today. They quoted me a likely cost of $250 or more.Upon arrival, prior to running any diagnostics and after a problem statement of intermittent long run cycles, the repairman told me he brought a new $150 control board for it and was going to replace the control panel because he had it for $250. I asked how he knew if that was the problem. He stated no. I asked what would happen if that was the wrong repair. He told me he would just keep coming back and would replace another piece each time until it worked. (Academy charges a minimum $55 trip fee and $50 minimum labor fee) He said this method was easier than checking to see which part failed as that would require pulling off the bottom board or moving the machine. The repair person did not even run the push button quick board diagnostic that can be found several diagnostic sites, nor meter check the parts that would, according to later information I found, narrow the problem down to the failed item. I told the repair person I didn't believe that his random repair method ( replace one part each visit with a $100 service fee on top until it worked ( with a likely cost of double a new machine) was a service I approved of. It was very apparent I was upset at this waste of my time. If they don't know how to service Bosch, be honest like the other two companies. Don't waste my time or try to rip me off. He knew he was flat busted so knew he couldn't charge for wasting my time. My opinion only.

He was professional and punctual and the ice maker performs well now.

Overall, service provider was good, but, VERY loose on scheduling and responsiveness. They did not follow up to confirm when the appointment would be scheduled so I had to call three times to get an actual service date and time. After the service visit, the provider did not respond quickly with required parts or the schedule for the next visit. So, I ordered the parts myself and fixed it myself. The technician was very friendly and helpful, but, I give them an overall grade of fair given the challenges around scheduling and responsiveness.

I discovered that my fridge wasn't cooling itself at all in the middle of the night. I called Academy this morning & spoke with Jo. Although they were booked for the next 3 days, she managed to get me squeezed in & the owner Ron himself came to fix my fridge. I think It took him less than 30 minutes-amazing! I was concerned that I could lose all or some of our refrigerated & frozen stuff, but we didn't lose a thing. I was grateful for their speedy, courteous & professional service, it was a good value in my opinion. Would definitely call them again, and also recommend Academy to my friends & neighbors. From my first phone call to the receptionist, who went out of her way and was very helpful and friendly, to the work performed by the technician, I wouldn't hesitate to call Academy for any future work. And yes, I would certainly recommend them!

I was not there at the time of the service but the repairman called me and told me everything he did and the reason the Dishwasher was not working and what he did to repair the Dishwasher.

Work was done in a timely and professional manor. I did have to call twice to make the appointment but that was not an issue. I think they may have been pretty busy and on the second call they made an extra effort to come out the next day. I would use them again.

It went very well. The technician methodically went through different scenarios of what could be causing the problem. He finally found one of those square plastic ties that go around bread sacks wedge in the sprayer arm. He removed al of the broken pieces and put the dishwasher back together and it have been working ever since. Nice surprise. I anticipated something major giving the age of our dishwasher.

Estimate of service call provided in advance. Repair happened as scheduled and we have not had further problem.

Did a great job on repairing my 20 year old dryer. Polite and explained the issue and repair process.

I called Academy Appliance and talked to Jo (or Joan?). She was so helpful. She asked me a lot of questions about the oven and asked me to push a couple of the buttons and tell her what the screen said. From this she determined that my problem was with just the electronic panel and that could be replaced. She took the serial and model numbers over the phone and said she would call right back. She called back promptly and said that our electronic panel was so old that the manufacturer had stopped making them. So I was a little suspicious that they were now going to try to sell me an oven. However I was so wrong. With a lot of work on Jo's part and other people in her office they were able to locate a panel that would work on my model oven. All throughout this process their office kept me constantly informed. They also were very flexible when I had to change our appointment and re-schedule. When the technician had arrived at our home and installed the panel and got our oven working I was prepared to write him a check for the service. He replied that I should test the oven out over the next week and make sure it ran perfectly and then call them and let them know everything was OK and then they would be me. What a great company! Aaron was very thorough. He showed us the part that was malfunctioning, and explained that the refrigerator had to be totally defrosted befpre it could be replaced. I tried to pay for the service call at that point, but he said to wait until he was able to fix it. Two days later he came to replace the part. This guy has the patience of a saint, I kid you not, The defrost was not totally complete, so he finished the defrost and then completed the repair. At this point, I paid, what I thought was a totally reasonable repair bill. The refrigerator ran beautifully for about a week, and then quit altogether, so we called Academy Appliance once again.And back came Aaron, to pronounce the poor thing totalled. He told us it was not worth spending any more money on it, It would cost more to fix it than it was worth. I wasn't thrilled with the news, but I sincerely appreciated the honesty.A couple of days later, Jo from Academy Appliance called and told me they were going to rebate part of the cost of the part that was replaced, which I thought was pretty decent.

Called around 8:30 a.m. and the dishwasher was repaired by 3:30 p.m. You can't get more timely service than this! Thanks

Academy Appliance Service did a wonderful job. They took it apart and cleaned the dishwasher out.

They were just fine. They came promptly and timely. I received a verbal estimate and they honored the price they originally quoted. The microwave is now working fine. They also called to follow up and verify the microwave is working properly. They were efficient and professional. I would recommend their services to anyone.

My indoor ice maker had stopped working. I called Academy Appliance and left a message and a very polite and professional person called me back within the hour and I scheduled an appointment for 2 days later. She helpfully explained the pricing and answered all my questions. They charge by the job not the hour which was different from a couple of other appliance places I had spoke to. The technician called me as promised the morning of the appointment day to confirm the appointment and showed up right on time. He diagnosed the problem in just a couple of minutes and explained the problem and showed me the broken part. He had the replacement part with him and it took him about 10 minutes or so to replace it. The price seemed reasonable and was no more then and possible less then hourly rates I had been quoted. The ice maker is as good as new and we have had no troubles with it. I would definitely use them again, all in all I would describe them as prompt, courteous and professional.

We woke up to a defrosting freezer.What a way to start the day! I got on the computer and pulled up a list of appliance repair companies from my AngiesList subscription. Academy Appliance had the best hourly rates, and the person doing the scheduling was so very helpful and friendly. But wait , it gets better...we scheduled repair for the next day in the morning. The repairman( Rob or Rod?) showed up at 7:45 AM. He had the problem figured out in about 2 minutes. Ordered the part , defrosted the ice build up, and cleaned up the mess. Came back and installed the broken part the next day. I have NEVER had service that was this good EVER! Not only were they friendly, and professional, but trusting! They did not collect from me until I was sure the problem was fixed! Wow, you just don't find this type of business very often! And did I mention reasonable? If you don't choose this company to repair your appliances,YOU are not getting the BEST SERVICE IN TOWN!!!

Our 11+ years old Maytag gas dryer wasn't heating up sufficiently to get the clothes dry. The Academy serviceman arrived at the scheduled time to do the repairs. He removed the front panel and determined that the problem was likely the coils on the gas valve, which he replaced. Just to be sure, he said he would call on Monday to check if the dryer was working OK, and if not he would return for further checking and repair. If it was working OK he would send us a bill. As it turned out, the dryer was working fine, and we gladly paid the bill when it arrived in the mail. The breakdown of the bill is as follows: 1) service call - $55; 2) dryer part - $35.90; 3) labor - $30; and 4) tax $2.66. The serviceman was very polite and professional. About 10 days later, a friend of ours told me his 13-year old dishwasher was leaking. He and I removed the inside panel of the door and determined that the leak was from behind the plastic Jet-Dry reservoir. I suggested he call Academy Appliance Service and describe the problem. The serviceman immediately knew what the problem was and said he would order the part needed to repair it (a grommet) which my friend could pick up at his shop. He said it would be simple for my friend to install himself, which it was. Total cost: a little over $10. How many appliance repair businesses would do that? It was a real bargain for my friend.

They were very attentive and helpful. He came to repair the ice maker but didn't have the part. They ordered it and as promised returned and repaired it efficiently. I had no trouble with this company in any way.

Repair man showed up on time. He opened the freezer door and said the way the condensation looked on the back wall meant the condenser was not working. He did not check any mechanical parts of the refrigerator or freezer to confirm his opinion. Because of the age of the refrigerator, he suggested not spending the money to fix it. I understood what he was saying but was disappointed he didn't take the time to prove his diagnosis by checking the inner workings of the appliance.
