We heard water running. It was coming from our water heater. We turned off the water line going to the tank. Called Ellmann, whom a friend had used. He was there in a couple of hrs. The repairman replaced the valve. He didn't try to sell us anything but told us we should probably turn off the water when we go on trips just to be safe. It could have been a real mess if we hadn't been home.---& expensive with the water flowing non-stop.

They are very easy to work with, and responsive. They are great guys that do high quality work.

The plumber came the same day that I called, even though this was not an emergency. He worked quickly and efficiently. I was more than pleased with his responsiveness and professionalism.

Our water heater started leaking the night before Thanksgiving. Jeff helped us diagnose it that night and then came out on the day after Thanksgiving to do the replacement. Since the heater was under warranty, we paid for labor and misc parts only. Jeff was prompt, professional, and knowledgeable. We'll call them again when we need them.

We had banging in our pipes when water was run. The technician arrived on time and was professional and courteous. He diagnosed the problem (pressure regulator dead) and promptly fixed it. He also suggested that our air tank (?) be replaced. I declined to have him do this, and he didn't pressure me at all about it. The price was appropriate for the professionalism it paid for. I will definitely use them the next time I need a plumber.

Story from start to finish is mostly covered under "services performed". I'll add here that, yes, $1,285 is a lot, but $750 of that was the cost of the replacement motor itself. The rest of the cost (for diagnosing the fan problem, ordering the fan and replacing it, inspecting and cleaning both furnace and A/C) seemed fair to me. More so since this was the 1st time in the 7 years I've had this house that I've had the furnace or A/C checked. Another kudo: The owner agreed to my request to spread the payment over 2 months instead of $1,285 all at once. Another experience with Ellmann (I don't have the work order / invoice from that handy): about a year earlier, Brad did a fine job of diagnosing and starting the fix on a plumbing problem. Worn out caulk around an upstairs tub had caused a leak that eventually made part of the downstairs ceiling fall out. He added some caulk around the shower control, and I later did the caulking around the perimeter of the tub. Both of my experiences with Ellman have been positive, and I intend to call them whenever I need help with one of the services they provide.

Gave accurate quote over the phone, showed up on time (actually called asked if he could come by early). We added the shower head pipe extension while he was here to put in shut off valves. Efficient & courteous.

I called on a Sunday evening and got the answering service. They took my information and called back with the tech on the phone within 5 minutes. He was at my house within half an hour. He looked at both problems and had fixed both problems within 2 hours.

They are very friendly, punctual, knowledgeable and professional. It seems like a good company. I would have definitely used them if their price was competitive. I just went with the one with the lowest bid.

It went very well-whch I expected. I have been using Ellmann for years. They service my furnace every fall and have taken care of any plumbing problems I've had. I have always been very satisfied with the service.

This was a good, professional experience. Tom arrived on time, went to work, explained what he was doing and why, was extremely conscious of keeping our house clean, and courteous at all times. We will hire him again if we need plumbing assistance and wholeheartedly recommend him to others.

Our kitchen sink drain backed up and unfortunately the stand pipe to the dishwasher was at a level below the sink, so the stinky water went into the cabinet. This was on a Sunday night; I called first thing Monday morning (after checking Angie's List!) and they sent a plumber out Monday afternoon. He was terrific! He explained everything he was doing. He brought the big noisy machine ("drain gun" on the invoice) and ran it through the drain pipe out a long ways. He said there were one or two small blockages that the machine cleared but no "smoking gun." Afterwards he capped off the standpipe so that if it backs up again it will go into the sink and not the cabinet. Then he ran a lot of water through to test it and make sure it wouldn't back up again. Very professional, excellent job! I would definitely call them again.

Brad showed up on time and was very courteous and knowledgeable. He was also good with small children. He found the leak reasonably quickly and provided extensive information on the condition of the shower and laundry room ceiling. The fix required a tile company.

Brad changed his schedule, coordinated the excavator & had us back together in 2 days! We had to have concrete poured & a new pipe laid in the backyard!

Labor was $90/hr, which seems a little pricey. Otherwise, it was fine.

Very responsive, punctual and professional. Had an issue with a dripping shower that was not able to be fixed. I was left with a shut off valve that did not work. I explained that I wanted to be credited for the part and to leave it in my mailbox to be picked up. I left the part there for a week, it was never picked up, and I was never credited for it.

I called Ellman for furnace maintenance, and they were able to come by and fix it the same day. Very prompt and courteous.

We found the company on Angie's List, called them, they came that afternoon, completed all work in about 2 hours. The plumber was very helpful in explaining everything and a really friendly, competent young man.

I called in the morning and a plumber arrived in the early afternoon. He was pleasant and worked quickly. I was charged for a service charge ($90) and materials/auger. I discussed some other problems and I was given various options to deal with them. I am awaiting an estimate. I will certainly use Ellmann again!

water heater was beginning to leak from the top inlet connection. Service person spotted the problem on a previous service call to repair the furnace, He was able to replace the water connector and gasket in less than an hour and the problem has been corrected.
