Within 72 hours of calling Christian Brothers we needed to be completely our of our house. The crew, headed by Jason, showed up promptly even after an overnight snow storm caused traffic issues all over town. The team of three was incredibly friendly, courteous, and helpful. I told them several times throughout the day that there is no way we would've been able to pull the move off without them. I hope to be in our new house for a very long time but if we do ever have to move again I am definitely using Christian Brothers for it.
Description of Work: We discovered at the last minute the buyers of our old house needed to move the closing up. We had to be out of the house in 72 hours and would have only a 24 hour window to get everything moved out and into our new house.

We were worried since our last moving company was a disaster! A friend at work told us about Christian Brothers Moving and gave them rave reviews...so we chose Christian Brothers Moving. All along the way I dealt with Felicia over the phone who was able to give us an accurate quote. She called to confirm and give reminders and made sure we had everything we needed (like more boxes) and that we knew what to expect and knew what was included in their full service move. She was great! The morning of our move we got a call from Jason, the leader of our crew, just to give us a heads up on their arrival time. They were on time and greeted us warmly and professionally. We walked them through and they made note of special items that needed extra care in our move. They all worked quickly, carefully, respectfully, and were very helpful. They really are a full service crew! They even took a load of furniture donations and saved us a separate trip of renting a uhaul on another day. These guys are all wonderful! They were fun to watch & and work with as they raced to be the first to take the next load. They have unbelievable energy and strength! Everything was wrapped up perfectly to protect our furniture. Boxes were moved carefully. We couldn't be happier with our moving experience!!! Thank you Jason, Curtis, Devin, Christian, and Rodrigo!!! You guys are awesome!!!!!

They did not have any free boxes 2 times I called. Had no issues moving from house to Christian Brothers storage, Took about 2.5 hours to load up the 2 trucks. Then it took about 6.5 hours to drive back and unload. I was never told or received confirmation if they were paid during the lunch and dinner but paid ~$1800. Paid $245 to store per month for 5 months. Paid ~$2100 to move from storage into the house. The couch had some sort of bug eggs on it, so they took it back to be cleaned. They did not bring some of the bed rails, so concerned if I received all my stuff. About 1 week later received couch and bed rails. Back of dresser was broken and many boxes were damaged as they fell during transport or when in storage. I had over 9 boxes with many dead flies and eggs, not sure how they even got in the boxes and spent much time cleaning everything coming out of boxes because of bugs. I would try someone else.

I was given an estimate of $633.60. When I received the bill it was for $1150.00, almost twice the quote. First they wanted to charge me for travel to get to/from my house, which was NOT previously mentioned. In fact, the quote I was given says "You are only charged for the hours we are working for you." Then they show up a half an hour earlier than I designated. Normally not a problem, but I needed somebody with a key to let me in and he wasn't going to arrive for another 1/2 hour. So, they charged me for that 1/2 hour, too. Then, despite looking at all of my belongings ahead of time, he somehow grossly underestimates my stuff by bringing a truck 1/2 the size of what I needed, causing 2 trips and lengthening the amount of "hours" spent working. They charged me for the 1/2 break they took and the 1/2 hour lunch. I would never recommend this company. I felt that they completely misrepresented themselves just to get the business. That said, the movers themselves moved everything without any damage.

I thought they did very well but the thing that stands out is that they were in a hurry to pack everything in to my garage. The larger furniture’s couches and beds were set up in the house but all the other boxed items and the television was shut in the garage. It took me a week to get through my garage to see if there was television or not because it was packed to the ceiling in the garage; I don’t know if there was a reason for that because it would take me long to discover that the television was missing or not.
Description of Work: I used Christian Brothers Moving Service for moving 25 miles. I had a flat screen television stolen and they did their own investigation but came up with nothing. I lost a television within a city move.

The workers that showed up to move me were on time and fairly pleasant. However, they did not seem to have a great deal of respect for my furniture or belongings. My grandson assisted in the move and witnessed boxes tossed into the truck. Also, there was a great many new and quot;scratchesand quot; on furniture legs and a day bed frame. As I unpacked over the next couple weeks there were a great number of broken glasses, dishes, pottery, Xmas ornaments etc. Whatever could be broken, contained some damage. The final insult to this experience was when I received a message from them indicating I had defrauded them. As it turns out, THEY had processed an incorrect credit card transaction for a previous customer of theirs with the same name. Before I could return their call THEY called back to say the situation had been resolved BUT I should have questioned why the credit card had not been charged yet...I get a bill ONCE a month...not daily. NEVER RECEIVED AN APOLOGY or anything

A guy named John just called to see if I'd made a decision on my moving company. I advised that I had, and it wasn't going to be Christian Brothers. Upon declining to share the details of the company I did choose, this amateur actually HUNG UP on me mid-sentence, with a loud thud of the phone. It was no accident, as no follow-up call ever came with an apology or explanation. Unbelievable. Maybe if they'd been more responsive in answering my questions, it would've gone in their favor. Should you choose to do business with these guys, consider yourself warned. The "fish" symbol is nothing more than a ruse to draw you in.

Four guys showed up - they introduced themselves and were extremely polite. To be honest, I was at first concerned because they did not "look" like guys I wanted in my home. I learned a lesson in judging by appearance only. shame on me! From the minute they got there, they worked hard and fast. They were amazing in that they did not damage any furniture, walls, etc. They were unbelievably strong! They were so nice to talk with while they moved our household goods. Everyone had a strong Christian faith and were good good guys. All had their past, but who the heck doesn't? I was so impressed by these guys. They worked extra hard for us and were so trustworthy. I have moved many times, but these guys were the absolute best. I hugged them when they were done and ready to leave - good people doing good work for a good price. Very impressed.

I contacted Christian Brothers for a packing & cross town moving estimate of my house (wife + 2 kids worth of stuff) after receiving something in the mail from them. I did not hire them for the move as a friend gave me strong recommendation on company he used. But given the prior reviews, I just wanted to share my experience which was great. I set up an in person estimate (no charge) and a lady (Theresa I think) came over. She called a bit before to say she was on her way and even got there a bit early. She was professional the whole time and gave me a thorough written estimate. A few days later I received an email from them pinging me to see where I was in my decision making process. Like i said, i hired another firm, but they were responsive and communicative the whole time with me.

I did not use them. I went with a different company - mainly because their lack of phone communication, attitude and unprofessional manner on the phone (almost bullying me to use them) was a red flag to me. If they act this way to potential customers on the phone, they must not be professional movers. I did not feel I could trust them with my possessions.

Doug, from Christian Brothers, came out to our house and did an extensive walk through to review what items needed to be packed and moved-first into storage and then into our new house. In addition to the house, we told him we had 2 – 10X10 storage units full of boxes and some furniture to be moved into the new house. He gave us an estimate – however, we were billed for 30% over that amount for our move. Our move out of our first house took much longer than estimated. There were drawers and items not packed and put on the truck and they packed up and moved a large awning we specifically requested a number of times to be left at the house. They underestimated the size of the truck needed and by the end of the day; boxes and belongings were being stacked on top of each other. On our move into our new house, they showed up over 2hrs later than they had told us. The same guy in charge of packing & moving the first time was also in charge of our new move-in. They had taken furniture apart and had no idea where the bolts/screws had been placed – told us later we could pay for him to come back and look for them. He had been in charge of packing and labeling the boxes at the original house, and although boxes were labeled as far a rooms – as the time got later and later – the moving crew began to put boxes everywhere and anywhere. We found kitchen items in our basement, basement items in the garage, etc…. Many, many boxes in the wrong area of the house. With 4 guys moving us in, they didn’t stop to ask where to put anything. Even a heavy glass patio table top was left downstairs after I requested 2 times to have it brought upstairs to the deck. After talking with Doug multiple times, Christian Brothers agreed to reimburse us for the cost of any items lost & broken because of all our problems. We submitted a claim for $1,200, and they refused to honor their word. We had multiple items broken and 4-5 items that were never brought to the house. We loaned our new bolt cutters to the crew leader and mentioned this multiple times, and he never returned them to us.
Description of Work: Due to delays in unloading, Christian Brothers' crew put boxes everywhere, rather than where they were to go, and in the end started literally thowing items into the storage area so they could leave. When called, their manager was very disrespectful to my wife on the phone, and insisted on more money to come back and fix their mess. When I threatened to withhold payment, they threatened to turn our case over to a collection agency. We had broken items, a missing bolt cutter, wheelbarrow and two-wheel dollie. We were given an insurance company to contact about settling the case, but they offered only $99 for over $1,400 to replace the lost or damages items. I find the handling of this entire situation very unprofessional and borderline unethical. I am posting this information to Angie's List and the Better Business Bureau so that future customers will avoid dealing with your company.

They showed up on time and started in on the work after some discussion on where everything was going. After some time we had to have a friend take over watch duties in the house. 1 of the last things they loaded was my BBQ grill, which I admit I should have disconnected the tank. They did not verify that the tank was removed and loaded the grill into the truck. While loading the grill they had turned on the gas. They had left for the day as the loading portion of the services were completed. They grill sat in the truck for at least 4 hrs with the gas on. I walked by the back of the truck to notice the smell of gas. I opened the back of the truck and moved somethings to get in and turn the gas off. They returned to do the unloading and we mentioned the gas incident and they apologized. They continued to unload our items. They completed the task. As we began to start unpacking and getting situated we found multiple items they had broken and failed to mention to us. When I called and spoke to John, I told him I had some comments and complaints. I started to mention the incident with the grill and the broken items, his response first off was getting defensive and stated that we had signed a waiver that made them not liable for damages. I stated that doesn't mean they should not mention to me if they had broken something as that would be the proper thing to do. He proceeded to tell me I would have to take pictures and email them to him so they could review them. I never once mentioned to him I was looking for compensation for this, I was trying to comment that they should man up for their faults. Don't use these guys. We didn't have Angie's list at the time we looked for a mover wish we did.
Description of Work: Do to the weird situation in our move, we had to Rent our own uHaul to have everything put in for transport and storage. So we hired the company to load and then eventually unload the trucks. Most items were packed in boxes that could be by us. Bulk Items were to be loaded by them.

I had them come out and give me a quote to see what was to be moved. They sent out a gentleman and an assistant to do that. I also took them to a storage shed to see some other items. When they came to move me on 8/27/11 they came with a large Penske truck and trailer. At the end of the day, there were quite a few items that we were unable to put on the truck and trailer. I wasn't able to give them a call until that Monday, and they told me that there wasn't anything they could do, but they would be happy to give me 2 months free rent on the storage unit. I ended up spending $2,600 to rent a U-Haul. We had to also rent a trailer to tow the car, because we were moving in a truck pulling a fifth-wheel. They told me to put some items in the back of the truck and in the fifth-wheel, which we were unable to do because we were living in the fifth-wheel. When we arrived, I gave them the bill minus the cost of the gas that it would us to drive our car. I hired an attorney to see what my legal right were. She wrote Christian Brothers a letter, stating that this was not good business practice and that they owed me this extra money. They fell on deaf ears, and I disputed the charge with my credit card companies. The credit card company awarded me $2,600.00 after 90 days. A month ago I received a letter from their attorney saying that they would be taking me to court to collect that money that is owed. They are very unethical. They did not inventory my belongings, and they do not use moving pads. They rented a U-Haul and rent blankets, which are much different than moving pads. Many of the items were damaged when we got the furniture back, and even though I purchased insurance, they did not cover the damages. We had a living room suite that was one of the things they wrote down on the quote. Those items were sold a day before we moved, and did not end up on the truck. The estimate and the amount of room was much less than it should have been.

We moved from a 5000 SF home where we have lived for the last 13 years. We packed the boxes ourselves and moved our clothing and a few personal or delicate items on our own. The crew of 4 guys arrived mid-morning and worked through the day until early evening. They used two trucks and were able to move everything in one trip. The guys were friendly, worked hard and were very conscientious about wrapping and protecting the furniture and placing everything in the correct rooms on the right floor at the destination. When I originally contacted them I was concerned about some of the previous negative reviews. Thomas and his team did a great job and we were happy that there were no surprises along the way. All of our belongings and furniture arrived safely and we didn't have any problems with damage or breakage.

They came out first to give an estimate. Initially they were very pleasant and professional. However, on the day of the move, they were approximately 1 hour late, without a phone call. They arrived with old, used boxes. They also wanted to charge us for additional boxes, which we were told would be free. They ended up running out of boxes halfway through the day, and wanted to come back at a different time. I had to call the owner, and they finally agreed to get us more boxes. They did finally resolve this, however they were supposed to be done by 3 pm, and were not finished by 6 pm. The quality of packing was poor. They also underestimated the number of trucks that were needed, which raised the estimated cost significantly. The workers were friendly, hardworking, and respectful. There was just terrible communication between the estimator and the movers. This was a bad experience, and we will not use them again.

Estimater re-scheduled but still okay; he was pleasant and neatly dressed. We questioned his estimates of number of boxes and number of trucks he would need. He took his notes to the office and gave us a quote soon (within 2 days). The day of the move, the movers were relatively on-time and each introduced himself. They did pack picures we left for them. They did not pack other items that I had expected and asked to be included in the estimate such as lamps and garden tools. At the end of a very long day, midnight, our bill was presented. I believe it was over twice the estimated amount. I know I was shocked. Then we informed about the customary tip we might want to consider. The move from storage to our new home was a travesty. I'm told the men began to pack the trucks on Sunday morning at 7 am. They spent a great deal of time trying to fit all our belongings into four Budget trucks. The mover team lead seemed very proud of this effort and that he had saved us the cost of another truck. They did not arrive at the house until 5 pm (I think it was really about 6). They unpacked until midnight again and said they would finish the next day. Many of our items were designated to be placed in an empty barn. We wanted items lined up and stacked in rows so we could locate specific labeled boxes. What we got was things dumped willy-nilly. One dresser had drawers all over the barn and is still not all in one place. Much of my furniture was damaged. I don't blame the movers all that much because it was one of the coldest nights of the winter and it was snowing. I blame their management who should have been supervising at the storage facility and who should have been better at estimating the job. The next day, two men came to finish unloading the trucks between 5 and 6 pm after their regular work day. Needless to say, the piano has never been moved into the house, but sits in the cold garage. It is bitterly cold. I have yet to mention that on Sunday one of the Budget rental trucks broke down and much time went into getting it towed. The movers also had trouble with the truck breaking down a second time. I'm so discouraged that it is taking me so long to find things and to set up my new house. The old house was in Golden, the storage in Littleton, and the move into the next house in Elizabeth.

Showed up almost an hour late, owner of company grossly underestimated time, truck space and personnel required for move, went 3-5 hours over the estimate of 6-8 hours, the truck was full and there was still considerable stuff left, but I decided against going back to complete the move because movers were tired, it was dark, and despite agreeing to meet directly at storage the crew decided to stop and have a meal without telling me while I waited at the storage facility nearly 45 minutes. Despite claims otherwise, movers clearly weren't prepared to move the piano and dropped it in the very long process, causing minor damage, and after agreeing at first to get it fixed ultimately refused to pay anything. This probably because, after numerous calls that went unreturned, I put a stop payment on the credit card for the moving charge in order to at least get a call back. That merely triggered a nasty letter from their lawyer, (never once a call back from the owner through this entire process). They ultimately got all their money, I still have unrepaired damage to my piano, and that is how it ended. A highly unethical company, in my opinion. Subsequent search of reviews revealed several complaints of purposeful underestimation.

Overall they did a good job. The workers were polite and professional and showed up on time. They completed the work in a timely manner. There were, however, a few things that stopped me from giving them an overall excellent rating. 1) I noted 2 broken items: a broken leg on a water cooler and a broken drawer on a desk. 2) They hooked up our washing machine, but did not check the connection. When I turned on the water, both the hot and cold water lines leaked. Turns out the washers for both lines had fallen out. I did not expect them to fix the problem, but it seems a thorough team would have identified the problem and let us know.

Terrible experience. Too small truck, dirty sweaty workers, didn't have right tools. Were supposed to store our stuff in a/c unit, when we found it, was in a dirty airport locker, we were let in by one of their employees, Jerry, and everything was broken, damaged, no climate-controlled, have tens of thousands in damages. His response, "so? we are out of business in Phoenix" Company headquarters in Colorado didn't respond for months until filed BBB and still not willing to take responsibility. Left Phoenix customers with a mess, called, out of business, not responsible for your stuff, told to go take possession. Horrible company. I would love to show you photos and documentation. They are so unethical. Don't use.

Workers were dirty, sloppy and manager is a crook. Items broken, scratched, legs broken off of chairs, mirrors broken. They didn't respond for months. Horrible company, can I say that a few more times? Don't use!!
