Anyway, Ryan called me back at around 1:30 or 2:00 pm and said he could be at my residence in 10 to 15 minutes. He arrived as promised and I explained the situation to him. We were in agreement that the evaporator was not working right and he proceeded to take it apart. Bottom line is that the evaporator drain line was frozen and blocked, hence the water in the bottom of the refrigerator. Ryan took it apart and thawed it out - problem solved. Total price - $98.00. The reason it froze in the first place was our fault - large items on the shelves caused the door to become slightly open - causing stress on the evaporator. Ryan is a 3rd party contractor and was really good. So, the total cost was 98 + 22 (Angies List) = $120. Sears doesn't roll a truck to your house for less than $175. I am very happy and we haven't had a problem since. I would have no problem using them again at all and very well probably will. I sure would not use Sears.

Originally planned to replace temperature control at an estimated cost of $250. After conversation with technician and his honest assessment, we decided to not complete the repair due to the age of the refrigerator. It would be a wiser decision to replace it. I appreciated his honest assessment even though it lowered his income for the trip.

They are really good. They have been in business since 1964. I started using them in the 1970's. I have been using them since I was a young man. He showed up when he was supposed to. He fixed it the way he was supposed to. He had the parts with him, which is fairly unusual for a dishwasher repair. He knew what he was doing.

Rick was extremely knowledgeable regarding a known problem with my Jenn-Air refrigerator. Rick assigned the repair work to Brian. Brian was exceptionally astute in isolating the exact cause of the problem with my refrigerator. I had moved my refrigerator to my garage while my hardwood floors were being refinished and had plugged my refrigerator into a 15 AMP plug instead of the usual 20 AMP plug causing the GFI circuit to keep resetting. Brian was keen in identifying this problem and in ruling out the possibility that the problem was not the result of a bad compressor. The refrigerator was jostled quite a bit while moving it down front steps of the house to the garage and Brian was concerned that bubbles may have formed in the condenser. This was ruled out when the refrigerator was plugged back into the 20 AMP plug with an extension cord. Overall, Rick and Brian with Bear Valley Appliance demonstrated exceptional knowledge and problem solving skills that saved me potentially thousands of dollars had I needed to purchase a new lower quality refrigerator.
