I know there were watering restrictions for much of the summer in the Denver area, but this is the worst my lawn has EVER looked. The fertilizer could not have been weed control because the weeds are the worst I've had in 14 years of living in my home. I checked all over their web site to see what fertilizer they use but they do not say. If over seeding happened there is no evidence and with liquid aeration it's hard to tell anything was done. I will not use Mile Hi Services for any lawn work in the future. The accountability just isn't there with these 3 services.
Description of Work: I got a start of summer deal with liquid aeration, fertilizing and over seeding. I was just to leave a check under the front mat so I never saw the work being done just their sign in my front yard.

Overall I was satisfied. there have been a few problems, but Shawn, the boss of the irrigation took on the responsibility of making sure I was satisfied.
Description of Work: Mountain High installed my sprinklers, which were destroyed in a remodeling job. They also laid sod in places where the grass was destroyed. Then they help me to work and shut down the system as well as start up in the spring as well.

The level or workmanship was acceptable, but I requested on numerous times that they call me ahead of the guy showing up to do the work. I work from home and have phone meetings with clients scheduled, so just wanted to know 20 minutes ahead of time so my dogs wouldn't bark when the guy showed up at my house and I was on a call. But despite these requests, he just turned up and started the work unannounced. Is it too much to ask?

I purchased a groupon or some other deal online for them to provide aeration, fertilization and overseeding. They honored this with no problem and we went ahead and scheduled service. Vendor than came out and we had the service completed, no problem.

We called to set an appointment and they tried to up-sell us to a liquid aeration -- even offering to charge us only for the $39 and come back and do the deep plug aeration if we weren't satisfied. After a quick online search on liquid aerations, we decided against it and asked just for the $39 deep plug aeration. We also asked for them to leave the plugs on the grass -- two reasons we read to do this: it's healthy for the grass and you get to verify the depth of the aeration. I don't know if they do this anyway but they said agreed and scheduled an appointment. Indeed, they did not show up on the scheduled day and my wife had to call and they rescheduled for us. If it were not for my wife being stay-at-home, this might have been a bigger issue. Even on the re-scheduled day they didn't show up on time and we actually went to the store and missed them completely. But when we returned home, there was a little sign in the lawn indicating they had been there and the payment was taken. After walking the lawn from corner to corner I have to say they did a great job. The plugs were 3 inches long at least and they hit every inch of the lawn thoroughly, Even up against the fence where there are bare patches and uneven ground. I was pleasantly surprised. For the money, you can't beat their service. Actually, even at three times the price, you can't beat it. We'll use them again next spring and fall for sure. Just be prepared for them to miss their appointment times.
Description of Work: We have a medium-to-large sized 15,000sf lawn with some compaction and dead grass issues. We did some research on pre-winter lawn treatments for the issues we were having in our lawn and decided on a need for a "Deep Plug Lawn Aeration." Armed with a semi-knowledgeable approach, we searched Angie's List and Craigslist for some estimates for that type of aeration which ranged from $350 to $99. We chose a $149 quote but the company has stopped doing aerations by late September but they referred us to MileHi Services. Their Angie's List ratings weren't very good but most of it was a result of not showing up -- not the service itself. And they were offering a $39 special so we thought to give them a try. If they didn't show up were didn't lose any money.

For 2 years in a row now (Fall of 2011/2012) Mile Hi Services failed to show up at my residence on the scheduled date. In both years they failed to show up on the first date scheduled. In 2012 they failed to show up on the first and the second dates that were scheduled. All of this AFTER I called to verify my appointment on each day they were supposed to come and AFTER I received a phone call from their automated system saying they were coming. Having dogs makes it impossible for me to leave the back yard unlocked so I have to stay around the house waiting for them. That is simply disrespectful of my time. If they don't want to do the job, they should say so we can call someone else to do the work. I wish I could comment on the quality of their work, but they never showed up to let me see what a great job they claim to do! If you value your time, DO NOT hire Mile Hi Services for any reason. They are unprofessional and do not respect their customers.
Description of Work: They were hired to perform lawn aeration and fertilizing. Unfortunately, no services were performed as they never showed up to do the work!

Three times I made an appointment to have them come out to aerate my yard. I have dogs so I needed to be there. I requested a late day appointment to be able to do that. First time they called at 11am for which I couldn't leave work that early. They said they would try to make it later so I left work as soon as I could and then never heard from them. I tried a second time and took the day off to get this done. They cancelled midday. The third time my partner took the day off to get the lawn aerated. This time they didn't bother to call. Said an automated call went out to customerswhen their machine broke down, but I didn?t know they weren?t coming until I called at 5 and they were closed. They called the next morning to reschedule and wouldn't take a no for an answer without claiming we were the ones being unreasonable and hard to work with. They cost us multiple days of work, a lot of frustration and to be insulted on top of it. Who in their right mind would give this company a fourth try?

I am pleased with the service and would use this provider again. The only difficulty was that the technician did not speak or understand English. It was good that I speak a little Spanish.
Description of Work: I was able to order gutter cleaning service on the company's website. They offered payment by check on the day of the service or by credit card when the service was ordered. I ordered the service on Friday and my appointment was scheduled for the following Tuesday. The technician cleaned out the gutters on our 2 story home all by hand using a small garden shovel. His helper bagged the trash and swept up the area. It took about 1.5 hours.

The technician showed up promptly and did the work with good cheer (although he did need to borrow some of our tools to get the work done). However, there were a LOT of hidden costs. The price quoted was good, but to do everything that I consider part of air duct cleaning, the price ended up triple the quoted cost. Also, when I ordered the service, the rep they said that their portable vac was better and more effective than the truck mounts. After seeing it in action, I seriously doubt it -- I don't think that vac had as much suction as my personal home vacuum cleaner, so I doubt that the ducts got cleaned very thoroughly. Also, the santizer was just sprayed in the top of the ducts and quite a bit of it got into the rooms rather than the ducts. Although the service was as advertised, I will not use them again for duct cleaning since it simply didn't seem effective.

Horrible experience. We throughly watered the lawn the night before and flagged all the sprinklers. They were suppose to show up between 7am and 6pm. No one evr showed up or called. Called that evening to follow-up and they were going to call the technicaian to find out what happened. Never recieved a call back. Called again the next morning, they claimed I had cancelled the service! Then offered to take $5 off and could come out 4 days later between 7am and 6pm. Forget it!!! They may be cheap, but suck. We previously had them do the liquid aeration, it was a total rip off and joke. The guy who sprayed it even told us that. Your better off paying a little more for someone who will actually show up and get the job done right.

When my husband arrived home, he put our dogs out in our fenced back yard, then went out into the front yard to do a few things. As he was working, he saw something in motion out of the corner of his eye. He looked up and was surprised to see our dogs galloping down the street! The Mile Hi worker had not closed our gate properly, leaving our dogs free to escape and roam - and possibly be injured (or worse) by a car. We also discovered that the worker had pulled up a strip of sod in our backyard, about a foot wide and five feet long - and had not even bothered to put it back in place and tamp it down, or to leave us a note telling us about the problem. I contacted the company and was referred to Crystal. She listened to my first complaint about the sod, and asked when it had been installed. Answer: July. She said based on that, it shouldn't have been aerated at all, and had she known, she would have told the worker to aerate the established front lawn, not the back. Okay, fair enough - but if it's the company policy to not aerate sod installed within the past four months, perhaps it should be noted on the website, or even better, a question about recently installed sod should be part of the online scheduling form. As it stands now, there is no way for Mile Hi to know about recently installed sod when customers schedule aeration using the company's website. Then, I relayed my story about my dogs, noting that they could have been killed. Crystal interrupted me and said, "I hate it when people say that dogs or children could have been killed. No dogs or children died." True... but not the customer friendly response I was looking for. She did say, twice in a very perfunctory way, that the company apologized. She also noted that when you're doing a large volume of lawn aerations, mistakes will happen, whether it's leaving a gate open or breaking a sprinkler head, or - whatever. Factually, she is correct. But from a customer-service standpoint, this perfunctory response was lacking in sincerity and empathy. My take-away from my conversation with Crystal: Mile Hi Services really doesn't give a damn about its customers. Although I had actually recommended this company in an earlier report, I will never again use Mile Hi Services for lawn aeration or anything else.
Description of Work: As I have done several times in the past, I scheduled Mile Hi to do a lawn aeration (front and back) via the company's website. One convenience: you don't need to be there when the work is performed - just leave a check under the welcome mat. So far, so good. However......

The liquid lawn aeration was found to be a hoax by a Colorado Springs news channel who did an undercover story on Mile Hi. The tested the liquid put into the lawn and found it to be none other than straight water-while they advertise it is a mixture of chemicals to deeply peirce the soil. In addition each technician only spent about 5 mintues on each lawn.

Description of Work: I did not have any services performed by Mile Hi Services. I have NEVER had Mile Hi service my lawn, yet their email says, "Hi there, this is Ted with Mile Hi Aeration. I had an appointment for my lawn to be aerated on Monday. They showed up as promised but stated the lawn could not be aerated because of the recent snow. They agreed to return Wednesday. They did not show up Wednesday or Thursday. I called on Friday as to why they did not show and was told that I had canceled my appointment. I assured them I had not. They agreed to aerate on Monday of the following week. I asked if they could send a crew member who could understand English so I could ask the crew not to aerate the hill in our front yard as it damages the hill. They said they could not. There was no one else to send. I said "Okay, I'll try my best to talk to them." On Monday they did not show and would not return my calls. Tuesday evening a taped message was left on our answering machine stating they would show up the next day. They did not- nor the next day. When I finally was able to get a phone call through, they promised to come on Monday. (This was now the third week). They did show on Monday when I was not home. Their web site talks about the large plugs they pull when in fact the plugs are only about 1.5 inches-and very few at that. The only way I knew they had been there was the sign they put in the front yard and a few plugs on the sidewalk. I've always been able to tell when the lawn has been aerated. Plugs are all over the place. However, it was difficult to find many plugs anywhere. I will never use them again and resent the advertising signs they put everywhere. I immediately removed my sign as they truly had not done much of an aeration job.

The booking of date and flexibility around any change was easily done on-line. The day before we received a call identifying a 2 hour window when the workers would arrive and they showed up exactly as promised. However, the equipment consisted of a small pressure sprayer and a machine much like what you'd rent at your local grocery or home improvement store except that it had a round fabric cover that supposedly collected the dirt. My opinion was it ground it in. I had to recall them to attend to a few spots but it didn't help. Good news is it dried fast. Bad news is it didn't really clean anything. Seriously, it was the worst carpet cleaning we have had--from a functional standpoint. The people were adorable, they were responsive and nice, but the cleaning job was one that made me renew my Angie's List membership just to report. Don't waste your time or money. I would rehire the company to perform other services...just not carpet cleaning.

I really like working with this company (for this service, at least -- can't vouch for them on other services). Appointments can be booked on-line, with an immediate e-mail confirmation. Mile Hi also sends an e-mail reminder about 24 hours prior to the scheduled appointment. No need to be at home when they do the job, the company asks that you leave a check ubder your doormat, and that is sufficient. When I arrived home from work, our lawn was littered with deep-core plugs, just as promised when I set the appointment.

If you want most of the fertilizer on your front sidewalk with burn holes in your otherwise healthy lawn, this is what you'll get from Mile Hi Services. They will ignore your calls and emails to remedy the situation, and the "customer service" rep will claim that she doesn't have any authority to do anything and will refer you to a company "Principal" who will never return your call. Mile Hi Services will however leave you repeated messages on your voicemail and emails to use their services again! It's a great scam for them if you pay by check, which most people do. There are lower-priced local companies who will do the same work, Mile Hi Service's claim of a "discount" is also untrue.

I called Mile Hi to schedule the aeration. They tell me what day they are coming to my house, and I leave a check for $35 under the front door mat. Prior to the service day, I mark the sprinkler heads that are in the center of the lawn with little plastic flags, so the aeration machine doesn't damage them. The work is accomplished on the day scheduled, and no one needs to be at home. The cost is a good value and the service is very convenient.
