We had previously met with three landscape planners looking for a design that incorporated our basic desires and their creativity but were not satisfied with their final ideas. Then we met Sonny from Design Exteriors. We had several meetings with Sonny and at all times his professionalism and vision was at the top of the class. Sonny presented us with an exceptional plan that integrated our wishes and complemented the neighborhood.

Sonny and his crew were fabulous! We love the personalized service and the reliability of Design Exteriors. They came when they said they would come and they stayed on budget. The crew of people that came out to scrape, repair and paint the outdoor surfaces (mostly window frames) worked very efficiently to get the job done in a timely manner. They were great about checking in with us to discuss any concerns (like how the people who had previously painted the house had left paint on the brick). I felt that they were conscientious of our needs - we have small children and cats and they made sure that the doors were closed and that their equipment was safely stored when not in use. I also liked that the entire project was on budget and on schedule especially since we had some wood damage and a consideration of how the crew would work with the windows that had bars over them. We are totally pleased with the work that was done on our house. Our wood surfaces look amazing and are now protected, our metal awning looks brand new and the gates and any other metal surfaces are now protected. We felt that Sonny was always available if we had any questions and his crew was very responsive. I like that Sonny developed a great relationship to our entire family and we looked forward to seeing him. We plan on using Design Exteriors for all our future outdoor projects.

The project started off smaller, basically sealing 6 vertical cracks which where allowing water into basement. Sonny, had however, warned that as the excavation proceeded there was no way to tell if those cracks extended horizontally beneath ground level and would have to be uncovered and sealed. Unfortunately this was the case and as the project continued so did the cracks. Sonny and Arturo, his foreman, were very sympathetic to the situation and made sure to show me all that was going on. When it was clear that the scope of the project had dramatically changed we had a meeting and came to a new price agreement, which saved me several thousand dollars based on the original pricing formula. I was greatly appreciative, and felt this was an accommodation not many contractors would have done. In our original contract, Sonny was also going to provide downspout adaptors, going into underground PVC pipes, away from the house into catch basins. This system would contain all the roof water and get it away from the foundation. Because of the increased magnitude/cost of the project, I decided to do this portion myself. Sonny was very helpful in spending time on several occasions to tell me in detail what I needed to purchase and how to construct the system. I followed his directions and accomplished this portion of the job myself. Again, I don’t think that many contractors would have provided this assistance. I was very grateful and appreciative. I would also like to say that Arturo and his crew were a pleasure to work with. They did a wonderful job, and were always very gracious and professional in allowing me oversight and answering any questions I had. Through no fault of their own this project did drag out quite a bit longer that expected. This was because of the almost constant rain we had this past summer. Besides, making it impossible to work much of the time, it also created deep clay mud which made the work very difficult, and progress sometimes very slow. That said, Arturo and crew always maintained a good attitude and kept me and my project always in the loop. This was a very difficult project, and I’m very glad that I was working with people of Sonny and Arturo’s expertise, and professionalism.. It made a very difficult project go much better than it might have otherwise.

We contacted Sonny during the summer to get estimates for doing a complete yard overhaul (back, front, and rooftop deck). We began construction last week to perform the backyard patio, firepit, and hot tub. Design Exteriors is phenomenal when it comes to the level of effort, design aesthetic, attention to detail, and level of customer service. The company has stellar contacts with many subcontractors for a variety of work, and thus far, we've asked for a lot with no hesitation that the work can be completed. Sonny, in particular, is open to personal design ideas and craves unique character and creativity. We couldn't be happier with the services we have received thus far and cannot wait to see the final product. Our yard will undoubtedly stand out! We'd recommend Sonny and the team at Design Exteriors to anyone, and while the cost was slightly higher than competitors, the quality and service are worth every penny!

Sonny was personally involved from the concept, design to the implementation. Overall we are very happy with the project and have been getting many compliments on our new landscape from the neighbors. Although there were some hiccups in the project phase Sonny was always responsive and made sure they were corrected. Sonny provides an artistic eye, personal service, attention to detail and a high level of customer service that differentiates him from other providers. I felt that Sonny put as much focus on my project as he would have done for his own house. I would definitely recommend Design Exteriors.

Although we met with Sonny with Design Exteriors in June and he submitted the final proposal and contract for our landscape project, he actually turned the job over to 2 of his crew members, Eduardo and Enrique. Both men have many years of experience in landscaping and Sonny is helping them to get their own business, and quot;New Vista Landscaping, LLCand quot; going strong by turning over some of the smaller projects to them. Sonny submitted the proposal and was always responsive to any questions we had, but Eduardo and Enrique did all of the hands on work. Occasionally, a couple of other crew members assisted them too. Eduardo and Enrique were both professional, very helpful and very eager to make sure we were happy with work being done. They worked extremely hard in nearly 100 degree temperatures to get the word done. The only and quot;consand quot; would be that they were juggling a number of other landscape projects at the same time and were not working here every day. From the date that they actually started work in our yard until it was completely finished was approximately 3 weeks. The work itself would've taken less than 1 week if they had been able to be here every day. However, we do understand that this was not their only project and they are trying to keep many clients happy. Some parts of our project also had to be done in stages. I just mention this so that anyone else hiring them are aware that they may not show up every day to work on your project. They did get better about letting us know when they would be back after a couple of days on the job. The one other things was that our drip system hoses were all buried under the river rock, so we had to locate them so as we add new plants we know where the drip hoses are for them.Overall, we are very pleased with our new yard! It looks great and was done exactly as we requested. Eduardo and Enrique are very conscientious and hard workers. They want to be sure that the job is done exactly how you want it and that you are happy with the work being done. They are not afraid though to offer suggestions and tips either, which we found was very helpful. The work was very reasonably priced and we would not hesitate to recommend them to anybody and will definitely hire them again for any future projects!

No show at scheduled appointments. Twice.

Sonny and his concrete and masonry workers were great to deal with in all aspects of this job. We are extremely happy with the job that was completed.

They did good work. I had a downpayment on November 14th and the final payment on the 16th because it was a 3-day job. They were good. They gave me a bid. They did what they said they were going to do. It's only been up since November so I'm assuming it's not going to crumble, but they seemed to know what they were doing. They did good work and it looks good. I was really pleased with them. I will work with them again. There was one thing I wasn't happy with, but I got it taken care of. The wall is masonry blocks covered in stucco and the damage was all on one side so they had to take the wood gate off, demolish and rebuild one side, and put the gate back on, but when they put the gate back on, they didn't have the latch wind up properly, and it was almost impossible to open it. It was really, really stiff. He looked at it and he said we could put a wire on it and it will help us pull it up, and I was thinking it looks some kind of a trailer park. $5500 on a wall and he's telling you to put a wire on the latch, and it will help me wrench it. That's not fixing it. I have a handyman who comes and does stuff for me. The problem was it was off a little bit and I was afraid they would just be drilling into the same holes and making the holes bigger so it's not going to work. He fixed it in 20 minutes so I didn't worry. It's probably not a big thing.

I recommend them highly. The job was done in a timely manner and very thorough. There were no problems with the service.

Sunny was very good to work with. He had excellent ideas at the proposal phase, was responsive to our needs, and sensitive to cost savings throughout the project. We will work with Sunny again to complete some more projects.

Although Sonny was unable to do our exterior project, he took the time to give us complimentary (free!) advice on what wqe could do ourselves to improve our property. His ideas were well thought out and easily doable. I really appreciated him giving his advice even though he was not going to do any work for us.

The owner came out with his mason. They were so knowledgeable and professional compared to other companies. I was very impressed with them. His quote for the work was very fair and reasonable compared to other quotes. The only reason I didn't have the work done was because the amount of stone needed was much higher than I thought. He was so polite and gracious, though, and I couldn't say enough good things about their demeanor.It was just exceptional. He even left a thank you note.

Sonny, Jose and Richard were great to work with and did a beautiful job.

We interviewed approximately five companies to build a pergola. Design Exteriors wasn't the lowest nor the highest bidder. Sonny's price was very competitive but what we got was far more excellent than we expected. Sonny is detailed-oriented and we appreciated his eye for design and aesthetics, not just putting up a cover for shade. His construction crew completed the job on time, cleaned up every day when they were finished, were extremely polite and respectful. We now have an outdoor "living room" and can enjoy our backyard with 50% shade. Our neighbors love the pergola. We plan to work with Sonny on some landscaping later this year and next year. Sonny is the best contractor we've ever worked with.

Sonny and his team are AWESOME! We first met Sonny when we wanted ideas about how to landscape our backyard and possibly put in a patio. Sonny spent a lot of time getting to know us and our preferences and came up with some amazing ideas. We fell in love with the plan he designed for our backyard! We went ahead and started with the patio which we just assumed would be a large slab of rectangular concrete. Sonny's design for an oval patio that sat at an angle and also included a seat wall and lights blew us away. We LOVED the design and so has everyone who has seen it. The seat wall was a stroke of genius and gives us lots more options in terms of entertaining. The lights also make it look so nice in the evening. We were impressed with all aspects of the patio project. The work was completed in a timely an detailed manner, the craftspeople were very professional, trucks, concrete, and workmen showed up when they said they would and we were informed of all aspects of the work before it happened. Sonny came out constantly to check the work and make sure everything was going as planned. After having such a great experience with the patio we hired Sonny again to fix our crumbling garage with paint removal and tuck pointing. Again all aspects of the job were done flawlessly. Later we had some drainage problems with our gutters and we called Sonny again. Sonny made some fabulous suggestions that were also very budget friendly. We ended up installing new exterior drain pipes to drain water further away from the house as well as new gutters in the front with leaf guards. The thing that impressed me most about this project was the fact that Sonny was able to creatively relocate the existing drains and took great pains to match our existing paint color to the new gutters. One thing I really appreciate about Sonny is that he has a big vision for how things can look but he doesn't put any pressure on you to do everything at once and is always looking at budget friendly ways to do a project. We told him at the outset that our projects would have to be done in increments and he never balked or pressured us. I also liked that he really listening to our ideas and preferences while still being able to show us amazing options we had never even thought of. We were very happy with Sonny's collaborative nature and also impressed with his level of workmanship and responsibility. The works site on all our projects were cleaned up in a timely manner, any concerns we had were addressed immediately, and best of all, Sonny is just a really nice guy, we always look forward to seeing him!

They were very professional and listened to our wants and needs incorporating those into the final design. They provided us with a design that fit our needs and added color and texture to the landscaping around our home.

We had completely remodeled our home and it was time to do the yard. Our yard had little to be desired and was somewhat of an eyesore in the neighborhood. I called three landscaping companies for bids. Two of them were vary vague in their descriptions of what the yard would look like. But they assured us we would love it. Design Exteriors was a completely different experience. Sonny met with us several times to figure out what we were looking for. He drew up a very professional landscape design which integrated an new deck, patio, and walkways along with a complete plant list. We were planning to do the work ourselves, but had no idea where to begin. Sonny's design helped us envision the end result and gave us direction. Of course, as we began implementing the design, things changed. Sonny was always there to advise us and help us make the right choices. Our landscape is almost done, and we LOVE it. We couldn't have done it without Sonny. I would recommend his company to anyone looking for a landscape design company. Although we only used them for design, I know they do the installation too.

Sonny was professional and timely. He left our yard clean and covered everyday. He also insured our neighbors that they would not be affected in anyway

The project was a success. Removed old decking, placed roofing material down and then installed a new composite deck.

Design Exteriors was timely and professional, doing all of the work in a timely manner. Sonny, the owner was very helpful and friendly as was Anthony, his employee. It was a pleasure to work with this company!

We recently had several foundation piers installed under our house. The movement in our foundation left many of our exterior brick walls with large cracks along the mortar lines. We called several companies out to give us estimates for the repairs of the cracks. Design Exteriors were very responsive after my initial call. They arrived on time, were very friendly, and gave us a cost estimate significantly lower than other companies. When it came time to get the work done, Rich was again punctual and friendly. He did a great job and matched the new mortar color well to the old mortar color. We worked efficiently and left all the areas clean and tidy. We had a great experience with him!

All their workmen were on time, completed excellent workmanship, provided excellent clean-up, were reasonably priced. We were completely satisfied with work. Exceeded our expectations.
