2nd Update: No wonder the right-most mugo pine under our dining room window died - it wasn't getting watered. In the grouping of three mugo pines, two drip lines went to one plant and one drip line to another plant, and alas, no drip line to the third plant. Update - 18 months later - many dead plants - some we selected, some Genesis selected. About half of the sod Genesis planted didn't survive either. The plantings are all covered by the sprinkler system (although we were on watering restrictions the summer following the landscaping - 2013) and we conscientiously watered by hand on days between the sprinkler system days. I recommend getting advice from a landscape designer or master gardener about what to plant where instead of relying on oneself (unless one is a landscape designer or master gardener) or Genesis. I give them an A for hardscaping (walkways, walls) and a C- or D for plants (not an F because some of the ground cover is doing well). Genesis Group was outstanding. Brandon Byrd, the sales manager, included sketches in the proposal which was very helpful in understanding exactly what was going to be done. He endured my many questions and several requests for changes with exceedingly good grace. Barry Aho, the owner, was extremely responsive (our next door neighbor discovered his Comcast service was down (internet and television) on election night because the cable had accidentally been cut - Barry answered the phone way after business hours and sent someone out immediately to make a repair). The workers were all very polite and articulate and patient. I look forward to seeing how the plants fare through the winter (we've been conscientious about watering). [Not well - see above.]

Drew Kennedy came out right away to provide an estimate. Their estimate was the best value, so we scheduled the project and agreed on a starting date. Materials were delivered on Monday, but the crew did not start until Tuesday noon (1 day later than scheduled). Crew was professional and the work was of high quality. It was scheduled to be completed by Friday, but some materials were cracked, so it went into the next week. If they had checked all the materials on the first day, they would have been able to get them replaced and still completed the front porch (deck) on time. The project was completed the following Tuesday. I called about a week later to have them correct the shims under the stair stringers - they were corrected within two days. Overall - an excellent experience and quality work. The scheduling delays detracted slightly, but tolerable. This is the second project they have done for us - I will use them again and would recommend them.

Drew, the project manager, explained the process and what to expect during each stage. ie. tear out exisitng patio, pour patio, allow for patio to cure & final sealant application. He personally made sure the slope of the patio was sufficient to allow for water drainage away from the house.The patio construction crew were very professional and thorough during all stages of tear out and installation. We would definitely use Genesis for future projects.

It was a real pleasure to work with this group of professionals. From the first phone call to getting the job done, they were very prompt and courteous. They were up front and to the penny on the price, to all the changes we kept adding to the basic design. The finished product exceeded all expectations and we are very pleased with the craftsmanship and quaility of the work. These guys did a fantastic job.

When we moved into our present residence the stairs and landings for both front and side entrances were suffering from dry rot and needed replacement. The deck on the west side of the house was almost completely rotten and unsafe. Our front entryway was remodeled and is attractive and inviting. Our utility entrance was rebuilt. The deck was replaced and enlarged from 220 sq. ft. to 290 sq. ft. We found Genesis Group flexible and pleasant to deal with. Sales personnel were open to listen to our design suggestions and incorporated them as much as possible. The company was open and willing to negotiate price within reason. We were pleased to discover that Genesis Group stayed on the project until finished even when it meant considerable inconvenience to themselves due to the illness of some of their workers. Foremen worked with the men and were conscientious and careful that all materials and cuts were up to standard. Should the need arise I would use Genesis Group again in a heartbeat.

Drew and Barry were both very responsive to our questions. The scope of the project took some organizing of different contractors to make the work come together. They worked around our schedule to meet at the house and draw up a plan and discuss the scope of the project. Originally we wanted a deck on the front porch extending into the yard. Everyone we had talked to said that wasn't possible without tearing out our attached concrete porch with the foundation of the home. To us this carried too many risks. Drew took a positive approach and used his knowledge and experience. We liked his idea of pouring concrete, stamping it and the old porch to make it blend. We also asked for a sandstone path down the center of the yard, which again we left him to his creativity on layout. All we did is say where we wanted it to start and end. Painters had to be brought in for the house trim, etc. And the stucco was re-done (actually an overlay to be compatible with Colorado weather). It took some time, but the people working were all pleasant enough. It wasn't uncommon for the stucco guys to work variable hours/days. But Drew reassured us that the work would be done. Drew was great about contacting us and coming to our home to check on the progress and our satisfaction every step of the way. And we couldn't be any happier! We love the new makeover!

Drew was professional and seemed really interested in giving us an estimate that was detailed enough to make decisions based on. Throughout the 3 weeks he kept us informed as to what, when, how and why. The job was completed nearly 2 weeks earlier than what was originally promised. All of the workmen were VERY careful to keep our dogs from getting out, pleasant and helpful with any questions we had, very flexible to work with our schedules.

Never started the project

The Genesis Group did a stellar job removing an old deck and building a new one. They did everything they said they would do and were meticulous about it. Matt and Kyle worked efficiently as a team building the deck and it was evident that they cared about doing a great job. I was never under the impression that they were rushed to finish the job, which speaks well of their company. The project manager was Drew, a true gentleman, who went above and beyond making sure that I was satisfied with the job done. Despite being a salesman and project manager, Drew helped his crew by prepping the site for the concrete to be poured and later located and repaired a leak in the sprinkler system, which ended up being caused by a cracked pipe that wasn't even in the construction zone. The compeleted deck looks great and it's rock solid. It's built to last for a long time. I'm a satisfied customer and would highly recommend the Genesis Group to friends and family.

Very professional, on time for the estimate, and started when promised. Installation was exactly as contracted, clean-up was excellent. On time for the final inspection. Drew Kennedy was very courteous and professional. He called to check to see if he could answer any questions while we were deciding on a contractor, and offered an additional discount when I told him he and the other contractor were quoting the same price. Drew and I reviewed the final work at completion and no issues were found. Completely happy with the work, and would definitely recommend them!

It was very easy working with them. Looking forward to using them in the future.

Job went rapidly as promised. However, followup on maintenance is slow. Price was reasonable, but more then expected.
