About us

In everything we do, whether it's in the office or in your home, we strive to do what's right. But what does "right" mean to us? What standard are we measuring ourselves against? The answer is hidden in our company's name. A "plumb line" is a string attached to a weight. Its purpose is to ensure that something is upright and straight. It provides an objective standard against which one can measure what he has built. Our "plumb line"—our test for doing what's right—is doing what's true, fair, and upright according to the moral standards set by God. Jeff Belk, our founder, used that standard to create our company's Core Values. These values inhabit every nook and cranny of Plumbline Services. Meaning these are the values we hire by. Fire by. And—most importantly for you—live by.

They give me a window of time and the technician showed up right at the beginning of the window I was given. Definite bonus. The technician was knowledgeable - said I had a crack in my old disposal. He also looked at the pipes that lead from under the sink into the basement, and said that I should consider repiping at some point. Plumbline charges RIDICULOUSLY high prices for their services. And none of the pro's of this company outweigh the price. I paid $460 dollars to have a disposal changed out. I was expecting to pay around $150 to $200 and expressed my surprise when the tech quoted me $460 for a 1/2 horsepower and $812 for 3/4 HP. I did research on Monday and found that I really shouldn't have paid more than about $250 for the whole deal. Even high-end quotes were around $300. The disposal they gave me (same brand and horsepower) could be purchased by any consumer for $65 - Plumbline is a huge company, buys in bulk and at a contract warehouse where the prices are substantially lower than for the average consumer. And the tech was at my house for 45 minutes (including time in his truck to get my quote and to chat with a neighbor). When I called Plumbline on Monday to complain about the price, the explanation I was given was that they have a lot of overhead costs -receptionists to answer the phones, a fleet of trucks, blah, blah, blah. I understand the business very well - both the service industry and was in retail for several years and there are NO amounts of overhead costs that justify charging 50% more than all other companies and published recommended charges that I found for this service in 2012. Will NEVER use this company again and will be sure to spread the word-of-mouth dissatisfaction.
Description of Work: I had my garbage disposal replaced. No adjustments needed to be made to the piping or anything else. It was a simple diagnosis of the problem, removal of the old and replace with the new.

Countertop folks came in and made it extremely difficult for a plumber to rework the drain/vent line. Mike C. thought about it for a short time and provided the solution within our budget. He then crafted the new drain line out in his truck that he had to install from the basement storage room that could barely fit anymore stuff let alone him. In less than 2 hrs from arrival to departure the job was done!! As an engineer myself I can tell you the crafted solution was inventive and reasonably priced.
Description of Work: Mike C. is an outstanding professional. He went above and beyond to provide a solution to my difficult plumbing job. In 2 hours he reworked by 1925 kitchen drain and vent lines after my countertop folks made it very difficult to accomplish. All of this done on an early Saturday evening so that we could have kitchen sink service for my company coming in the next day.

My humidifier stopped working and indicated it needed service. I called Plumbline and they dispatched Clinton Dunn. When he arrived, he went straight to work and corrected the problem within 10 minutes. Then explained to me what I ;should do on my own the next time it happened. He was courteous and professional with a nice personality.

The service technician arrived on time and patiently listened to what was happening with our drain. He explained that we needed our main drain snaked and would need to remove the basement toilet to get into the line. Kai was very professional and clean through the whole process. He was great at explaining what he was doing, and kept me informed as to what he found. It did not take long at all to get things flowing again in the main drain. Kai even cleaned up after he was done and I couldn't even tell that we had any work done! I would definitely recommend him (and Plumbline) for work that is needed in your house.

Each time we called they were very prompt. They arrived at the set time. While doing the water heater we decided to do the humidifier and they had someone here later the same day. Then we decided to upgrade the circuit breakers and have the surge arrester and someone was here the next day.
Description of Work: We have used Plumbline Services a few times. They have unclogged a toilet line and a dishwasher line. The more extensive services involved replacing a water heater and replacing a whole house humidifier. We planned on finishing our basement so plumbing was relocated. We had them add circuit breakers to the box and a whole house surge arrester. The air conditioner and furnace were cleaned and tuned up. Kent and Chris were very professional and courteous.

I called this company for an estimate for a heater and air conditioner. My appointment was scheduled for 10/10/2012 between 5-7. They were a no show. I called the company on 10/11/2012 and was told my appointment was for that night. I had another estimate that evening so I rescheduled for 10/12/2012 between 5-7. Just before 5:00, I was in front of my house walking my dog and noticed a black SUV that looked lost with two men in it. I walked the dog around the side of my house and when I got back the car was gone. After about 15 minutes I got to thinking I should call and check on the staus of the appointment (due to my last experience). I was told my appointment had been put on hold (they assumed because I wasn't home) and did I want to reschedule. Well, NO. All I have to say is I am so glad I did not waste another 2 hours waiting for this company to show up. Shame on Plumbline for being so disrespectful of a customer's time.

My main sewer line was in need of repair and I heard an advertisement for Plumbline Services on my favorite morning radio show and decided to check them out. I am sincerely glad I did! On 8/2/12, Chris Rountree and Brandon (training asst) came to my home and cleaned the main drain and were punctual and professional, they set me up with a JJ Warren to have my line reviewed with a camera inspection. Both appointments were set up for the same day and everyone was on time. JJ walked me through the video of our line foot by foot. He took the time to explain everything he was seeing and answered all my questions as we went along. JJ provided 3 options to repair our line and provided benefits and issues associated with each option which made it easy for us to choose one that fit our needs and budget. The sewer replacement work happened on 8/9/2012, Bryce Phillips and Paul Boland arrived right on time to begin the work and were met with some additional questions we had due to a phone call from our local water company indicating that we should consider annual root maintenance versus the replacement. To this concern, Paul and Bryce repsonded in a professional and supporting way and we agreed to wait for JJ to arrive to review the line with us again. JJ arrived and gladly dropped the camera back into the line and went over the damage again and answered all our new questions before we agreed to continue. Everyone was great to go over everything once again. Long story short, we went forward with the work and Paul and Bryce's team went to work and did a fabulous job. The entire crew was professional and worked diligently to complete the work in the agreed amount of time. Work was done on time and without incident. I cannot say enough about how well I was treated by every person I came into contact with at Plumbline, what a great company! Thank you for everything, you guys rock!

It took 3 hours with time out for lunch for 2 men. That's more than $1,000.00 an hour. The associate that set up the deal, the excavation supervisor, totally misled me on the financing; I was gullible and fell for it-my mistake. He also said that he would follow up and he did not, even when I called to talk with him and the company said they would contact him to call me. They did not compact the soil even a tiny bit, although there was a hose right there. Instead, they left me with a 3 1/2 foot pile of dirt to deal with. They did say in the beginning that it would not be restored, but that was an awfully big pile of dirt for 1,000.00 bucks an hour to not compact some of it.The permit inspector was concerned about the height of the pipe coverage-it was supposed to be 6 inches, and I don't know if the few bags they put down was enough to accomplish that, but maybe. Even though they were fairly careful putting boards down on the walkway, and only a couple broke, the hot exhaust from the bobcat burned up the entire front of the main bush in the yard. His comment was, "Well, just water and it'll come back;" however, it is brown and dead.
Description of Work: Dug a 6 1/2 foot hole and put in replacement sewer pipe about 4 feet long with 2 way clearouts in the front yard. The permit supervisor wondered about the height of

Update - 8/24/2012 Utility bill for first two months with the system has been 30% lower than last year as compared to actual cooling days, KW/cooling days, and KW hours used. I am happy with the system performance. Installation quality is marginal at best. I'm a 60 year old with 20 years experience in residential construction including electrical, framing, and basic HVAC. When I see a unit that is installed incorrectly, I pull the red flag and call the company. Plumbline has been responsive so far so we'll see how well they resolve the issues. My wish, however, is that a job is done right, the first time, without having to call back several times to get code issues fixed and other installation problems corrected. UPDATE 6/30/2012: After several contacts they agreed to send out a tech to fix the out of code hot water heater vent that was moved during the furnace installation. He moved the hot water heater away from the furnace. Was given a time of 2 to 4 PM earlier this week. They arrived after 6:30 PM when we weren't home. Had to reschedule for Saturday morning. This time the tech (very professional and knowledgeable) called and arrived on time. He fixed the issues resulting from the previous tech's poor installation, commenting that, "Whoever did this didn't know what he was doing.". I am happy to provide before and after photos of the issues experienced. E-mail requests to kid0339@gmail.com
Description of Work: Update - 7/5/12 Noticed a leak of refrigeration oil on the joint from the AC suction line into the coil. Called to report it. Tech came out and said it was "sweating" of the cold line. Sorry - I know the difference between water and refrigeration oil. In any event, tech evacuated the system, checked for leaks (soapy water method - not a sniffer) and reported no leaks. Recharged the system and poorly replaced missing insulation at coil end of AC tube. Did not replace outside deteriorated insulation. Had to do this myself - materials cost $5.00.. Quality and pride in workmanship is nonexistent with Plumbline. I will not call them come into my home ever again. Original comments: Had the original furnace and a/c replaced with Trane high efficiency A/C and 95% furnace based on the 5 year - no interest financing option through Wells Fargo. the Trane system works extremely well. I'm very pleased with it. I'll update this report in a few months after we see the heating and cooling bils from Xcel. The installation of the A/C and furnace was fair at best. They were here until 12:30 AM (after midnight) which caused me to wonder how experienced they were. After I checked the system the next morning, I discovered several major issues which they are in the process of resolving. I would much rather this had been done right the first time. I'm not sure I would call them again.

Plumbline was very prompt to my request for an estimate for the work. Their proposal was the most complete and comprehensive provided and their price, although not the lowest, was the very competitive. I was most impressed by their professionalism; plus, they were able to provide 0% financing over 18 months. They arrived on the day promised and had all work completed by the end of the day. They were very careful to protect both our floors and walls, along with all furniture, etc. They covered their shoes when in the house and were very courteous at all times. There was at least one supervisor who arrived during the day to ensure all was going well. They did an excellent job of cleaning up after themselves at the end of the job. There were no surprises and the job came in per our contract. I couldn't be happier with the service at any price.

This company scams their customers, plain and simple. They are dis-honest, and profit is their only concern. My wife called them to come out and check a furnace that was not lighting. I suspected the ignitor, but I was scheduled to go work and did not pursue my initial gut feeling. (It would have been cheaper for me to stay home this day.) We had two toddlers in the condo, and waiting was not an option. Plumbline showed up, fixed the heater in about 45 minutes, and guess what? It was the ignitor. The service tech told my wife that THIS ignitor for her furnace was rare and obsolete, and that he just happened to carry one on his truck. He also told her that he had just replaced one in his own personal furnace, and that he had to pay close to $300.00 for it. My wife believed him, and was forced to pay the $392.98 for this ignitor!!!! I told my wife to save the part. I knew from past experiance that this part was never more than $40.00 !!! So, after being forced to pay the tech, Plumbline told my wife that her furnace needed to be replaced, and that the total repair bill could be applied to the installation of a new furnace. SCAM, SCAM, SCAM !!!!!! Price of EXACT replacement ignitor $32.50 price of charged by Plumbline? $392.98 !!! Low in behold, I am not the first that this has happened to. I want everyone to know that Plumbline's manager has not returned our calls. Dishonesty is their game. The quote for a furnace replacement, INCLUDING the "discount" of the service call? DOUBLE of every other quote we have had. I demand a refund !! 100% satisfaction doesn't hold water for these people.

Like most plumbing line company's this one advertises a basic $99 fee for clearing a sewer line. Upon learning that they would have to pass the drain snake through a toilet, the quoted charge was now $381.00--the going rate for more reasonable companies is less than $150. So I showed the guy the door and called 99dollarrooter ( www. 99dollarrooter.com).

The entire experience was horrible. Our first appointment was scheduled on Friday, Oct 15. I was told they would be here before 7:00 pm. After 7:00 pm I called to get an estimated time for their arrival. They said the appointment would be around 8:00 pm. I requested that we reschedule for the following week. On the 18th the service man arrived on time, put down the red carpet at the door and donned his white booties. After about an hour he informed me that our fairly new furnace had a leaky valve that would require an $800 repair and that I should get it fixed rather soon. He left that night without restarting the furnace so by the time we realized it and went to bed we were in for a cold night. The following day I had other service companies check the furnace. They could find no gas leak or problem with the furnace. I called Plumb Line to understand how this discrepancy might have happened. I was told a manager would call me back. A week later a manager left me a message (actually 2 because I was out of town) The second message told me that in fact it was their technician fault and that if I would like to discuss the error please call back. I left a message for the manager one week ago, requesting a call back and requesting a refund. I still have not heard back from them. Stay away from this company is my advice.

Plumbline completely failed right up front when it came to performing services. I work 8-5 on Monday through Friday. Plumbline wouldn't arrange for an estimate after hours, but said they were available on Saturdays. Consequently, I tried to schedule for a Saturday. Plumbline never even made it to my front door. First, I called in several months ago to arrange for an estimate. Through some miscommunication, they had the wrong date written down. On the Saturday I had scheduled, noboby showed up. I was sure to be at the house prior to, through, and after the arranged time. The following Saturday, while I was out of town on a pre-planned trip (no way I would have scheduled an estimate knowing in advance that I'd be gone), I got a call that the technician was on his way. I told them I was not home and we needed to reschedule. When I eventually called back to reschedule I had to schedule two weeks down the line to get a Saturday appointment. That is understandable. However, on the Thursday before I recieved a call that the appointment needed to be rescheduled. The woman on the phone was nice enough, but it was frustrating that they couldn't have found someone else to take the estimator's place. The caller suggested a few "availablities" during the middle of the day during the middle of the week - exactly what I was trying to avoid by using a Satuday appointment. When I mentioned I was upset that they had cancelled, I was told that they weren't cancelling, just re-scheduling. Can't imagine running a business like that. I have a few other AngiesList recommended groups coming by during the week, working around my schedule, to bid, so I'm not that concerned. But I won't be calling Plumbline again now or in the future.

It was fine except for the price. See above.
Description of Work: I was very impressed with Plumbline but they charge way too much. $1,000.00 for a garbage disposal is ridiculous. They were very conscientious in putting on shoe covers and being polite and putting down a carpet to protect the floor, but I would give all that up for a little less price. All I needed was a new garbage disposal.

He was 20 minutes late even though they advertise timely service. He walked in with moon shoes and after he visited our home he was terminated due to the poor service he provided us. He initally quoted me $500 for the instillation which was comparable to the other 2 qoutes that we had received. We choose this company because they were on Angie's List. I have been a buisness man for 27 years and I understand numbers and how it works. By the time we were finished speaking he estimated a final price of $1,000 which was double the price. He then tried to go to $1,150. I told him absolutely not. I told him to honor the $1,000 and complete the instillation. He continued to raise the price but I refused. He was here for 3 hours and ten minutes. Unfortunately, I payed him in cash. I now regret giving him cash and wish I would have charged my master card. After we left we used the sink and it flooded the entire foundation of our under the sink cabinets. We could not use it for 48 hours. Finally, after two days, someone else returned. They brought out a "journeyman" meaning someone who is fully licensed and qualified in the state to perform such procedures. He mitigated the problem. He was here for an hour and half. He fixed all the repairs that the original guy did. The journeyman was professional and very apologetic. Then he informed us that the previous guy who made the initial instillation was fired. I called PLUMBLINE SERVICES to discuss the charges and demand a partial refund between $425 and $500. A manager started to scream at me, be little me, and used profound language. I received not only horrible treatment from the initial installer but also the management staff. He was rude, pompous, arrogant, and extremely unprofessional. He tried to intimidating me and harassing me. I told him I was going to report him to several agencies including the BBB. Someone else got on the phone, overheard the conversation. This man was a lot more empathetic, professional, and promised a $200 refund over the phone. He said will send me a refund if I promise not to send bad reviews to those agencies. I did receive the refund but I feel it is safe now to report. They exacerbated the entire situation with their attitudes and the way they handled this situation. I wrote them a letter and demanded they remove me from their mailing list and explained the situation. I was removed from the list.
Description of Work: PLUMBLINE SERVICES installed a stainless steal kitchen sink. We bought the sink, parts including faucets and sprays. We bought it in advance for $400. All we wanted was for them to install the sink.

They really have the customer in mind and they stand by their warranties. I am very satisfied with them. They do a great job. Their prices are not that competitive and I imagine I could get their prices anywhere.
Description of Work: I use Plumbline Services for service and maintenance. They come in a couple of times a year to check the air conditioning and furnace.

Plumbline showed up at the time we agreed on, wore little booties and was very polite and professional. I was asked to sign an invoice but since we'd used their services in the past for emergency leaks I didn't spend much time on it, just initialed and left for work. I absolutely agree that I should have looked at the prices more closely before initialing but my mind saw them as $34 and $24 for the two items being replaced when they were actually $390 for replacing the basket strainer and $276 for replacing the p-trap. Just to be clear; that's one metal bowl thingie that screws onto the bottom of the sink and one length of plastic pipe maybe 2 feet long with a bend in it. He did the work in an hour, added on a "min service fee" of 42.95 and later my wife located a $50 discount and gave that to him which he subtracted off of the bill. Like I said, he was professional and courteous but that is an amazing price for 2 feet of pipe, a drain and 1 hour work. That's $11/minute of his time. I should have asked him to leave instead of initialing so that's 100% my bad. That said, I will never call Plumbline Services for any reason again. I will mention this interaction to anyone who asks and make certain that my neighbors all know that their prices our outlandish.
Description of Work: We had an ongoing slow leak under the sink and the existing plumbing was as tight as I could get it. We were concerned about mold and decided to just hire a plumber to replace everything from the basket to the p-trap since I had replaced the basket a year earlier and simply could not get it tight enough to stop leaking.

Ejector pump failed, so sewage line out to septic tank was stopped. They arrived on time as agreed, and Matt the service guy was SUPER nice and professional. He did an inspection, and explained how things looked, and alternatives. This was a big repair, and needed to be done ASAP, so I didn't have any price comparison so this was a big check to write. But it was a pretty good size repair and part, was done really well, quickly, and was very professional and courteous. We also signed up for the next year of service since this is a new house for us, and we need the A/C, furnace and water heaters looked at for future maintenance. Signing up for their maintenance contract saves you a little money too.

It was an awful experience and I feel that I was really taken advantage of. I phoned this company and also wrote them a letter complaining about their appalling charges. I cancelled their trip out to install a pressure regulator the following week.. The fees that I was charged were supposed to be discounted. They called them their "comfort" price. Their normal prices are even higher (can you believe that?)
Description of Work: I moved into an old house in Old Littleon on June 2, 2011. I immediately realized that there was a leak in the wall behind my bath tub. I did not have access to my computer and I only had a cell phone. The only company that I had the name of was Pumbline becauese one of my renters had called them and had sent me a copy of her bill. Unfrotunately, I called them to come in fix my leak. They were very prompt and came right out. Their workman verified that I did indeed have a leak in the wall behind my bath tub and that it was probable due to the fact that these old houses have galvanized pipe and that all of the plumbing in the house should probably be replaced because it will contintue to deterioriate. He cut into the wall behind the tub and as it turned out there was copper pipeing. The old tub faucet needed to be replaced and he offered to sell me a $500 faucet. He said it was a really good one, however I declined and ran to Home depot and purchased a Kohler tub faucet for much less than $500 and I also purchased a Kitchen sink faucet because he said he could install that as well. Bottom line they charged me $628 to install the tub faucet (which I supplied) $347 to instal the kitchen faucet (which I supplied) $95 for "additional time to open the wall" so the leak could be repaired. He charged me $178 for a gas leak search which was only a loose fitting and it took him all of 10 minutes. Then he was going to charge me $724 to install a pressure regulator that he would come back the following week to install. Unfortunately, this was my first experience in the Denver area with service companies. When I finally was able calm down and to realize that my plumbing was not going to be rotting away and I had time to think and really look and their charges and discuss with my family, I realized that I had really been taken. I am 75 years old and I admitt that I don't think as fast as I once did. I just want to warn people about this company and their outlandish fees and charges.

They were great - It turned out to be a bigger job than they thought so they were prompt in sending help. We had used them alot in the past few years so they gave us a bit of a price break. I asked them to write up an extensive note of what they exactly did so that my insurance would cover this and they were hap[y to do it.
Description of Work: We had to have kitchen and bathroom dug up down to about 15 inches to replace a pipe that had rusted through

Things went well but I thought they were way over priced. They came out, it was late at night, I didn't mine the money for the service price. Although, I thought that they really overpriced the service in the part that they provided. They did what they were supposed to do. I guess my only hang up is price. I didn't have any problem with the guy that came out, the timing, and all that. I just thought that the work done was way over priced.
Description of Work: They replaced a part in our furnace.
