In everything we do, whether it's in the office or in your home, we strive to do what's right. But what does "right" mean to us? What standard are we measuring ourselves against? The answer is hidden in our company's name.
A "plumb line" is a string attached to a weight. Its purpose is to ensure that something is upright and straight. It provides an objective standard against which one can measure what he has built.
Our "plumb line"—our test for doing what's right—is doing what's true, fair, and upright according to the moral standards set by God.
Jeff Belk, our founder, used that standard to create our company's Core Values.
These values inhabit every nook and cranny of Plumbline Services. Meaning these are the values we hire by. Fire by. And—most importantly for you—live by.
Plumbline was okay. I have nothing to compare but as far as I know, they were great.
Description of Work: I had an emergency where the water heater broke and the basement flooded.

Called a week prior to make an appointment to have our front light fixed. An hour before the service window, I received a call telling me they had to cancel the appointment because the technician was working on another job. Needless to say I was not happy given the fact that I had to make arrangements to take time off from work to be here for the job.

After calling to cancel/reschedule (literally) several times, the estimate was for $800 (each) to "rebuild" two running toilets. We ended up spending the weekend figuring it out for ourselves. We aren't very handy, so it took us about 12 hours to learn how to do it, run to the hardware store a few times and replace the mechanisms in both tanks. It should have taken a competent plumber a couple hours to do the job. My wife felt like Plumbline was trying to take advantage of her.

I will never use them again. They're horrible. They put it in on a Friday. That night, I went to turn my heater on because during the day it wasn't cold enough, but at night, temperatures dipped. I turned my heater on and the upstairs unit didn't work at all. So I called them the next day and I'm like, "Hey, my heater didn't go on." They were like, "Well we're going to have to charge you for a Saturday call." I said, "But you were just here yesterday." They took out the old filters, but they put in brand new air purifiers that are whole home ones. I said, "You touched it yesterday and now it's not working. Can you come out?" So they came out and they brought a part to me that they got off my heater unit. They said, "Do you see this part?" I said, "Yeah," and they said it was burnt out. I said, "Well, how did that happen?" They were like, "Well, you're not supposed to touch it." I'm like, "I didn't touch it. You guys were up there." It was like an igniter or something like that. I said, "Well, I didn't touch it. Obviously, I'm not going to go touch my heaters. Your guys were here yesterday. I don't understand how this broke." They charged me time and a half because it was a Saturday and then they charged me for the part as well. They completely took advantage of me and I just had spent $3500 on two Trane whole home units because I have two units in my house and I put in air purifiers on both units. So it was about $3500 and then they charged me time and a half on a Saturday. They were horrible. I think they broke it, to be honest. It was ridiculous. My neighbor used them just a couple of months ago. I saw Plumbline outside of their house. I called them up and I said, "You're not using them, are you?" He said, "I just signed a contract. My heater is going out and I needed it to be replaced." I'm like, "They're horrible. Good luck." Sure enough, my neighbor had the poorest experience with them. They flooded their basement. He was like, "You're right." They came out and they had to replace the whole heater unit again. They were on Fox 31 Heidi Hemmat Challenge for heaters and they were the ones that were dishonest and failed. It's on Fox 31 news. It's really bad. I tell people don't go use them. Then they told me I needed all this other work. They said I needed two air conditioner condensers. 2003 is when they were put in and they were like, "They're rusting, they're leaking." When Plumbline came out to put in my air purifiers, they told me about the condensers because they looked over the system. After they came on that Saturday I was super mad because they charged me to come out, they fixed a part that I don't think coincidentally went out and then they told me I need all this other work. So I called Sensible Heating out and I said, "Hey, can you guys give me a second opinion," and I told them what Plumbline had recommended and they went through Plumbline's list and they were like, "You don't need anything." So, after that, I stuck with Sensible Heating. They were responsive, they came out to rip me off more. They were punctual.

He did a good job but it cost to much I needed a few plumbing things done. The front outside faucet was leaking, the toilet wouldn't stay bolted down, needed a ball valve installed and prv valve installed. When he told me the price I only had the outside faucet replaced I wish I would have checked around I paid 3 times what I should have for that work. They are high priced paid $487.28 when I should have paid between $100-$150. I am glad I didn't have him fix anything else.

$301 to install a garbage dispoal that I purchased. It took them only 10 mins to install. When I spoke with the manager of the company all I got were excuses for the cost. I don't think I've experienced any company with better employees than Plumbline. Staff is polite experienced, and will bend over backwards to make sure the work is done right. Perfect? No, but almost.
Description of Work: Bought a new complete HVAC system from Plumbline. This company is exceptional at sales and installation. When my permit inspection failed they said they would order the part and set up a new appointment. Never Happened and with the holidays and a couple of vacations I forgot too. They realized months later that the final inspection had not been done, and finished it promptly and it passed inspection. Had a problem recently with the AC freezing up. Called for service and within two hours the HVAC Tech, Austin arrived & fixed it in just 1 hour. This is one of the few remaining companies that has REAL customer service. I know if I ever need them in the future they will be there for me.

Plumbline rep arrived on time and provided quote for doing the work. Quote for adding a 220V outlet to garage and new breakers in my box was $2300. When I asked why it was so high the contractor said beaus I have to run the conduit outside. I asked if this was labor or materials and he said it was just because he had to run the conduit outside, no further explanation. I asked if this included the 15% I'm supposed to get as a Plumbline subscriber and he said, "uh, yeah." I got a quote from JM electric a few days later for $750 and they did the job promptly and professionally. Very poor performance from Plumbline and I will not call on the again for their services. They are mainly listed as plumbing and heating but also advertise electrical.

Nice E-mailed & telephone reminders of the appointment & when the technician was headed my way as well as receipts & what not. The guy that showed up was nice & professional. After determining things weren't still backing up, we went over the options, costs & probable causes of the problem that no-longer existed. Decided to have them snake things anyway as he was already here & it would only be a couple bucks more. 30 day warranty on the work, so if the problem shows back up within a month they will be back to try again (hopefully it will stay broken in that case). The bad: My dog spent the whole time barking at the picture of the Plumbline guy on the side of his van. :-p
Description of Work: Called them on Saturday because the tub & toiled in the basement were draining very slowly. They showed up promptly around lunch on Monday when they were scheduled to do so. Of course when we went to re-create the problem everything was then draining normally... Hard to diagnose or fix something that is working. I was going to get hit with the $50ish service call fee (entirely reasonable) anyway, so I had them snake the drain ($93 total, service call fee included) just to make sure.

Bob Moran the technician came out on Friday and gave me a great quote and offered to install it the next day which was a Saturday. Bob was very professional at all times. I was impressed he even balanced the new fan. He cleaned up everything including taking away the old ceiling fan. I also appreciated the fact he was very nice to my 3 dogs. I most definitely will use Plumbline Services again whenever necessary. Thanks Bob. You deserve a pat on the back. Job well done.

I discovered on a Sunday afternoon that the sump pump had failed after epic amounts of spring rain, so I had some standing water in the crawl space underneath my engineered basement. I called Plumbline for emergency service (other service providers either didn't respond or could not be there until 48 hours later), and Jason was there within the hour. He gave me a quote for replacing the sump pump and adding a new exhaust pipe outdoors to provide better drainage. The quote seemed a bit high, but I had little choice on a Sunday night and it was an emergency call, which included the added charge for after-hours work. Jason was fast, friendly, and professional, and had the new pump working within an hour. I would recommend their use again, although in a non-emergency situation I may do more price comparisons.

Our boiler is 26 years old and has been meticulously maintained during that time. The technician arrived on time but this was a lousy experience overall. We did NOT need our boiler certified. We only needed to know that it was safe to operate and functioning properly at this time. My husband has over 40+ years as an electro-mechanical engineer with most of it being in the HVAC industry. He tried to provide the technician with the service manual for our unit and show him some specifics about the unit, but the technician indicated he didn't need it. He then indicated that the boiler was heating to 150 degrees instead of 180 degrees despite the service manual indicating that 150-160 degrees is NORMAL for our high efficiency, but older boiler. My husband again tried to show him the service manual, but he refused. After only 30 minutes, the technician indicated that there was nothing he could do, that he could not certify the boiler, and still charged us $250 for 30 minutes of work/effort. He also quoted us a new unit for over $10,000!!! Our system utilizes our hot water heater as a storage tank to store the hot water used domestically. The estimate the technician provided to replace the system would use very little of what is already in place (remove old and replace with new). All we wanted to know was that the boiler was safe to operate and functioning properly AT THIS TIME. We paid $250 for a boiler certification that we couldn't even get and he recommended a new system at an exorbitant price. We contacted another contractor that read the Oand M / Service Manual we provided, spent over 2 hours inspecting and verifying each component of the boiler system and found it operationally sound and safe. The other contractor's cost....$104.00 We will NEVER use PlumbLine again and we will warn anyone and everyone, who will listen, about what we perceive as lousy business practices, lack of respect, and price gauging.

We have flooding, so they came out to inspect the property and see where the flooding was coming from. He was able to identify the flooding in our crawl space. He saved us money by giving suggestions.

Everything went great. Everyone we worked with was professional. They were not the lowest quote we received but not the highest, either. Some of the lower bids we received we realized had potential "extra costs". Their work included a warranty that can be transferred. The quote we had from Plumbline included everything. They did have to dig up the road and therefore the job took two days. But they cleaned up everything after the first day and made the front of our home safe. They finished up the second day and had everything cleaned up well. Would definitely call them again if we had to.

I called in September of 2012 because I noticed some mold in a closet where my washer/dryer are. I had them come out and he cut a hole in the wall and said they didnt see any water, it must be coming from the roof. I called a mold remediation company who found a leak, so I called Plumbline back in October, and they sent the same person back who replaced a pipe in the wall that was leaking, and charged me, even though he couldnt find the leak to begin with. I called customer service later and was told I would get a refund for the first trip that they made since he didn't find the leak the first time.

My main sewer line was backing up. On the web site for Plumbline, they advertise clearing the main line for $99. I called to inquire what that included and was told one hour of work and 100 feet of line. I was able to schedule an appointment for the next morning. They called approximately 30 minutes before arriving just as they said they would. John showed up, checked a few things to determine that the problem really was the main sewer line, and confirmed the cost of $99. He also clearly explained the cost should this project go over time or length and assured me he would get permission before continuing if it did. After running the rooter machine, he was able to tell me what caused the clog and recommended I have them come back with a sewer line video camera to have the line inspected. He cleaned up the area, gave me an estimate for the video camera inspection per my request, took my payment, and gave me coupons for future use. Before driving away, he put coupons on my neighbors doors. All in all, it was quick and painless. I would use them again.

600 A storm was coming. My daughter in law had a newborn in the condo, I worked nights, so I was unable to troubleshoot my wife's condo's furnace. I had heard the slew of commercials about PLUMBLINE on Denver Radio, so I had my wife call the number. They had advertised a check-up and cleaning special earlier that week,(in the ballpark of $80.) and figured with the cleaning they would immediately see what could cause the heat not to come on. The wife called, and the woman on the line was very polite and gave us a time within the hour. Plumbline was there in less than 45minutes. They had my wife sign an estimate to the tune of over $500.00 with a option of buying the "PLAN" ( I can't remember the offer at all, but it would save her over $100. up front with the purchase) She didn't buy their offer, but she had no idea the cost of any repairs. After a $150. diognostic, and 25 minutes of time, he replaced a "hard to find" ignitor, and came out for payment of close to $550.00, and gave her the old ignitor and the box from the "new" ignitor at my request. (a $35.00 part) I called my wife on my break, and asked her how much it was to fix the furnace. (I am a licensed Colorado electrician, and estimated an ignitor replacement with part would be just at $200.00) When she gave me the charges, I was floored. WHAT!!!!!!?? For one thing, THE very first thing you check on a furnace is the ignitor, with absulutely no diagnostic needed. I checked out their work the next morning, expecting at least a cleaning and a checking of the filter. Nothing !! They didn't even dust off the covers. To make this short, I did call Plumbline and complained. I was told a manager would call...and he did. I explained that with travel time and replacing an ignitor, the billing should have been no more than $250.00 on the high side for 45 minutes of their time. This guy explained they charged by "the type of service" they provided, and that it was just under $355.00 for the R&R of an ignitor plus parts, and the $150.00 for diagnostic services. I argued for quite some time, and he offered to knock off the diagnostic fee. I was not satisfied with that, but took it. OH...and he did explain that the entire bill would be knocked off the purchase of a new furnace. So we called and got an estimate for a new furnace. With the "discount of our repair bill," Plumbline still wanted just under $4,000.00. I said that was ridiculous, and we called another contractor. We got an estimate of $1700.00 for a mid.range furnace. This other contractor was a day out, and the furnace was in and running beautifully at the beginning of the week. Just for grins, I asked for the ignitor out of the furnace repaired by Plumbline, and he gave me this grimy, dirty ignitor he had removed at my request. (this was only three days after it was installed) I looked at it, grabbed the new box the Plumbline technician gave me, and was livid that the box was too small to even put the ignitor in, not to mention the brand was differant. I knew this was a used ignitor Plumbline had installed. I was madder than mad to say the least. I am not a math wiz, but I figure PLUMBLINE SERVICES charged us nearly $1000.00 AN HOUR. What a nightmare for us..... PS. My breakdown of cost are only guesses, but the total bill is pretty accurate.

After several days and no word from the rep or Plumbline, we called and emailed the generic contact several times to let them know we never got a quote. Shawn had told home office that he emailed the quote, but we never got it. He never called us back to see if we received it. We called back and then texted him the email address again and he still never sent the quote (we did check the spam folder). So, we called and talked to someone that said management would call. Well, they never did either. Guess these guys didn't want the business. Two other companies who gave us quotes within 48 hours of their visit. Needless to say we went with one of them for this job. If Plumbline doesn't have enough respect to follow up with us, we can't help but let others know about how awful they are.
Description of Work: Shawn came out and was asked to give a bid on a new furnace and AC install. He came out - said it would be about $17,000 then never called us back to give us a real quote. He didn't leave a business card, only a big marketing brochure with the generic contact info on it.
