Smoothly. It is interesting to watch someone else surf your computer.
Description of Work: Switched email service providers and my contact list was "lost". Hunted for days. My Remote Repair technician took less than 45 minutes to fix that problem, explain some things about gmail, add another process for me and clean up my computer. I am delighted with the service, the price, and most especially the quick response. I only had today to fix this problem. It is done!

Although I had some disastrous problems with my new computer, as well as software problems on my old computer, Garry was very patient and walked me through everything.
Description of Work: My computer was slowly crashing. After Garry heard what was happening he told me I needed a new computer and suggested that I quickly go out and get an external hard drive and back up everything, which I did. I got a new computer, made a couple of mistakes on my own which Garry helped me through, and when I finally got everything straightened out with HP and Comcast I called him back. He explained what I'll need to do with various documents I had on the backup and was extremely clear and understood my limited computer capacity.

Garry was great all around. The first company I called told me they couldn't call me back to even talk about my problem (let alone work on it) for a week. Garry was next on the list and he was willing and able to talk to me the same day, worked around my work schedule and couldn't have been more accommodating and patient. This was a tricky problem that required some trial and error but in the end it all got sorted out and fixed and the price was right. I like that Garry can work on your computer and you can walk away and do other things besides stare at the screen and he'll call you back. His service is reliable, convenient and affordable and I would definitely recommend him and continue to use his services as needed.
Description of Work: I was experiencing some hard-to-explain, hard-to-get-to-the-bottom-of type problems with software not downloading correctly and then being unable to remove same. By the time I called Garry I had fallen into the bottomless pit of rebooting and retrying and fixing one problem only to have another pop up. I was pretty frayed and I needed someone to help me fix it right away.

the call was late, the service was not good and the noise in the background was terrible. the remote connection showed that he was fishing for answers and did not really know his way around the puter at all. i asked for my money back but did not get it.
Description of Work: finally got a call and it sounded like the man was "helping me" while he was either eating lunch/dinner or he was doing the dishes. after a while i got so frustrated i hung up. what a waste of 100 dollars.

After doing the initial panic on the virus things, crying, drinking and complete freakout- I was looking for someone to come to my home office and fix the stupid thing. I came across My Remote Repair and fiugred that it was better than 1. a new computer and carbonite 2. new software and more drinking 3. Being nice to someone in my home that is working on my livlihood and not wanting to hover. I contacted the company by email and Gary called me, I figure after he had the morning cup of coffee and rolling his eyes at my email. I gave him a pretty good idea about what was going on and after he suggested something about a new computer - not in the budget yet, I remembered I have a laptop! Duh me. We decided that there was enough space to transfer things over. He checked on me during the day to see how the restore was going and called me on the dot the next day, just like he said he would. I was able to play with the restore and get most things up and running and he helped with the rest of it. He was great! Not only am I determined that he is my new go to guy, I think I will suggest to some of my clients too that they use him. At no time did I ask about the cost (almost would have paid with an organ if needed to), and at no time was payment asked for up front. Matter of fact, I paid him about 7 hours later than I said I would since I got side tracked with the new configuring of my office space Again, AWESOME!!
Description of Work: I had a virus on a desktop and needed to move all of my files and reconfigure my laptop. My email needed to get to work on the laptop, something that I had never been able to do before, and some other quirky things with the programs that I have.

Description of Work: I took my computer to a local service provider and what he told me frightened me. He said he would have to wipe it clean. I couldn't do that so I found this myremoterepair.com service and Garry completed the job in a short time to my complete satisfaction. The best result was I did not loose any information. This is all done remotely.I contacted My Remote Repair for service. My system is over 6 yrs old and it needed a tune-up and some problems fixed. Garry Robinson contacted me by phone and was very helpful and wanted to look at my system to see what i needed to be done before he did any work. He went through my entire system and evaluated everything. I did not have to stay on the phone with him so he would call me when he had a question or would need me to do something from my computer. The entire process didn't take very long and Garry had diagnosed the problems and did the tune-up and the updating of my system. When done Garry contacted me and went through the the programs with me. My computer knowledge is lilmited to the use of emailing, browsing the internet and microsoft word. I am very comfortable with Garry and I know that he is available to assist me with any computer questions or problems I might have. He is available through his website and by telephone which makes for better service. I highly recommend My Remote Repair. It's one on one and that makes it all the better.

I was a bit apprehensive about opening my laptop and all its contents remotely, even though Remote Repair had many excellent reviews. Gary, however, assured me immediately that I had made the right decision in calling Remote Repair to the "rescue". He was very professional yet able to explain and guide me through the process in simple (non-technical) language. Previously, I have spoken with technical staff (at other support sites) and have become very intimidated by someone who has no patience for the computer challenged population. The entire process went quickly and smoothly, even though Gary had to call me numerous times before I had time to actually be at home with my computer to diagnose and repair. I live in a rural area and the nearest computer repair business is 25 miles away - I am extremely busy (and who isn't) and it was so convenient to have the work completed through remote login and never had to leave home....Yeah!!! One less trip is good not to mention the fuel savings! I will definently use Remote Repair in the future and I do not know if there are other technicians like Gary but he was the BEST!!! I will recommend them to all my friends and coworkers. Thank You, Thank You!!!

As soon as I left a message on his answering machine he returned my call. He set up an appointment for the next day and called promptly the next day.My computer was very slow and by the time Gary was finished he had increased the speed two fold. It now is just as fast as when I purchased it. The entire process only took one hour and Gary was extremely polite,patient and professional. I will definitely use him in the future if the need arises and I will pass his name onto all of my friends and relatives! He also left two programs on my computer for me to use to keep the computers efficiency up to par.

I got Garry's name from Angie's list and when i called he said he could help me that day right after he finished with another customer. He called me back promptly and immediately went to work diagnosing the problem with remote access to my computer. He ended up having to restore my computer and fortunately, I had the drive backed up. He talked me through the process and helped me to reload programs. The computer works fine now. He spent at least 1 and 1/2 hours with me on and off over about a 2 and 1/2 hour period. He would sign off while the computer was recovering and then call back to check on how things were going and to continue the repair. Garry is very professional, friendly and knowledgeable and the remote repair worked very well. He applied the coupon for computer tune-up to the repair. I highly recommend Garry to anyone needing their computer repaired.
Description of Work: My HP computer with Windows 7 would not let me access Internet Explorer check my e-mail. I tried to fix the problem myself with no luck. Garry remotely accessed my computer and was able to fix the problem. He ultimately had to recover my computer to its original configuration.

My computer failed to restart after an update. It tried some sort of startup repair and it was unable to find the problem. I located Garry by using Angie's List on my iPhone. I called and he called me back within 10 minutes. I turned the computer off and back on as he was going to walk me through what would have amounted to wiping everything off my computer and restoring Windows. Lo and behold, the computer actually started up that time. He did help me make sure I have a copy of all my data on my external hard drive. I will use him as a resource from now on should I have any problems I can't handle.

Even though I sent an email requesting an appointment on a Sunday evening Garry responded in a timely manner and gave me his availability. I emailed a good time for a phone meeting and he called promptly at that time. Garry quickly identified the problem, explained why it occurred and corrected it. He then performed a full scan off-line to determine if there were any other problems to repair. He was professional and courteous and patiently answered all the questions I had about my computer since I am not computer savvy in any way. At the end of the call I found out that I was suppose to send payment and request an appointment through Angie's List. I was not aware of this and he performed all the functions necessary to make the repairs without knowing if I was going to pay or not. This demonstrated the trust that people use to have but don't now and it was so refreshing. I will definitely call Garry for any future computer problems because he is knowledgeable and efficient with computers and fair with his rate.

It went quite well. I called and established that he could look at my computer based on the issues it was having, and we set a date for the project. He was a bit late "arriving" for our phone call, but overall the process went well.
Description of Work: My computer was having a lot of application hang and running very slowly. In less than 20 minutes he diagnosed the issue, which was pretty much that my computer was getting past it's useful life (I had suspected that and now had validation). He tweaked a few things here and there to help me get by until I could get a new one -- which I did very shortly thereafter.

I called Gary at My Remote Repair and he was very accomodating with his appointment times. I got tied up and ended up missing my appointment and it was no problem for him, he was willing to still fit me in that same day so that I could have my laptop fixed! The service that was provided was professional, friendly and honest. Everything that was being performed was explained to me and at no point did I feel uncomfortable with what Gary was doing with my Laptop. As it turned out, I didn’t have a virus or similar issues. Garry did a clean-up of my computer programs and removed those I’ll never need. He answered some other questions I was concerned about and showed me some things about my computer that he felt I’d be interested in. He then told I’ve got a great computer and it will be faster now . . . and to go to Angie’s List to pay for his services. Garry didn’t exaggerate one bit, my computer IS VERY FAST NOW, big difference! Garry is very personable, likeable, efficient and HONEST. His hours and his charges are superior in every way possible and I’m so very satisfied with and grateful for my new computer repair person that I’m telling all my friends about him.
Description of Work: About 2 months ago I purchased a new Dell computer from the Dell website. Am very happy with the computer. However Dell wanted “an arm and a leg” for software services for one year which even had a restriction as to how many times you could use their services in that time frame. I am a Sr, Sr citizen widow and light years from a geek and knew I’d need help down the line based upon past experience. ANGIE’S LIST TO THE RESCUE AGAIN!! I did a search for Computer Services, hoping for a reasonably-priced computer repair service. I found one I really liked where my computer could be repaired remotely from Colorado – It is Garry Robinson and his website www.MyRemoteRepair@gmail.com. He has an A rating all the way on Angie’s List with Angie’s Super Service Award for 2011. You can call him and get a free consultation and his prices are modest compared to other services I checked out both locally and on Angie’s List. He said for small jobs that don’t take long, he might even charge $20-25. That’s as opposed to his normal $40 per ½ hour rate on his website. He’s been doing computer repair for 11 years and remotely since 2007. I was hoping I wouldn’t need to call him for a long time, but unfortunately a few weeks later I did. Some friends of mine had problems with a hacker getting into their computer and sending over 80 emails out to friends, I included. After that it seemed my computer was slowing down including my AOL account. I had a couple other things that concerned me also. Rather than take any chances I called Garry on a Friday afternoon and left word. He called me back on Saturday morning and apologized for not getting back to me sooner. On Friday he’d been quite busy attending his son’s graduation from college. He asked if I could wait until later in the day on Saturday as he had some people scheduled ahead of me. I asked if there was an extra charge for Saturday work – he said No. He also said because he has some health issues, computer repair is his full time job and he often does the work 7 days a week if the opportunity is there for him. Basically I said I was in no hurry. So I made an appointment with him for later in the day.

First of all, I would absolutely use Gary and My Remote Computer again and again. The price was right and he was very pleasant and professional. A few things for people reading this review. If your computer doesn't come with the recovery discs, chances are you actually have to download from your computers site. DO THIS!!! It will make your life easier. Also, make sure you have a external hard drive or a backup cloud service. It takes a lot of the stress out of an otherwise unpleasant situation.
Description of Work: Basically, my system became so corrupted, everything Gary tried did not work (was not his fault, I had a hopeless case). So, Gary and I had to wipe out the system (it took 24 hours, again not Gary's fault) and re-install. Once that happened, I had a brand new computer. Thanks Gary!!

It went great from start to finish!
Description of Work: Gary worked on both of my computers and my printer. He was magnificent! I would have been a nervous wreck for someone to have come to my home to work on the computers. He did everything remotely and spent 1 hour and 40 minutes and only charged me the $49.00 coupon rate. His hourly fee for continued service is very reasonable and I don't have to go anywhere with computers and wires and stuff! I am not a computer geek and for me he is the perfect answer. I recommend him as the answer to people who wish they a had someone they can trust to help them. And he talks to you on the phone and answers all your questions not like some services where you have to type all your questions and the answers come back typed. Superb experience!!!!

Within minutes of my email request, Garry connected remotely and my email issue was resolved within about 10 minutes.. Garry was professional, pleasant and was a pleasure to work with. Will be contacting My Remote Repair for any future computer issues.
Description of Work: Was having send/receive issues with email. Could "receive" in either Windows Mail or Yahoo webmail but could only send in Yahoo. As Windows Mail was our preference, the send/receive issue was annoying and unproductive.

I tell him whats going and he checks what I tell him about and helps make sure everything runs smoothly. I recently had a crash and he was able to assist me and recommended a home repair consultant to come to my house and fix this problem. I would highly recommend Garry and his services to anyone.

.We called Gary up and told him about our computer problems. Among other things, the computer worked liked it was in slow motion in every function . We thought it might be time for a new one. Gary started immediately and worked remotely for over 2 h ours.,and kept in contact with us by phone. My wife and I are both some what computer challenged,but he was extremely patient with our lack of computer knowledge. Our computer is now running very smoothly, and alot faster, and he even put in a site, so I can veiw emails I had sent from work, that I was not able to use, or veiw pictures. We are very pleased, and happy that a person like Gary is out there and can be of assistance, in cases as this, and said we can call him if we have anymore questions, or concerns. Description of Work: Gary went into our computer remotely after I went into an internet site, and put his internet name into it, and then entered, and he was able to take over our computer remotely, and you can, then see him moving the cursor around. He went in, and checked our computer for viruses, and then put in a free new antivirus. Scanned our computer for viruses, which took about 45 min, and when he needed to work on computer we would hang up, and then when he needed for me to log in again, he would call me back, and if I needed to do something, he will walk me thru the process, and was very patient, which I appreciated, since I am not real computer savy. He would have me hang up a few times while he would continue to work on computer, and then when he was finished, he would test it, and then have me test it, to see if I was satisfied, which I was, because our computer moved from site to site very quickly like it used to, even though our computer is 8 yrs old, which saved us from having to buy a new computer, which we do not want to have to do since we do not use the computer to much, and do not care, for a new fancy computer they sell now days.

Great experience - sup way to get quality computer help!
Description of Work: I was not able to install adobe flash player and there were extra pop up windows that I couldn't delete. Gary called as soon as I purchased the service to set up an hour long appointment. He actually worked longer than the 60 minutes for no additional charge until he had the computer functioning perfectly.
