I contacted the provider to get an estimate regarding out back patio and patio cover. I explained why we were searching for a new contractor, because our old one we had to fire after he ruined our house and was supposed to do our back patio and did not. The owner Rob said sorry to hear about your frustration however advised me never to tell another contractor my issues regarding why we were looking and what the prior contractor did. Also he mentioned that his usually job cost about $5K and our did not seem like it could reach that. He has missed the boat on the job as the patio is very large and so it the patio cover, so this is his loss. Also he has now missed the opportunity for future work with my other projects and others I work with that have numerous landscape jobs. I would never recommend this contractor to anybody, since he is trying to make sure no one ever knows about bad contractors. Make me wonder if he has done the same thing to others as my old contractor did. Do not use this contractor.

When I initially purchased 'The Real Deal' I entered three days and times that would work for an initial evaluation. I received no email or phone call from Daniel's Landscaping and Design. After leaving three voice messages, over 3 weeks, Gary finally returned my call and we arraigned a day and time for him to come to our house. Gary was neither a landscaper or a designer! He could not even tell me what type of trees were already on the property and made several phone calls to someone else to be able to answer my most basic questions. No measurements were taken, or drawings made....he basically stood there and asked us what we wanted and offered nothing! The deal was an 'evaluation....with a proposal and conceptual drawing/plan of your project. That was June 8th and we still have heard NOTHING from Gary or Daniel's Landscape and Design. There was NO service what so ever provided and I basically wasted $99 and an hour of my time talking to someone who had NO LANDSCAPING OR DESIGN knowledge.

Finally reached Rob by phone in mid May. We did some texting back and forth, he said that I shouldn't have purchased the $99. deal as this is really a free service, but he would take care of me. . He was responsive until we met the day of the appointment. He came out and looked at my needs, said he would get me a line item estimate so I could pick and choose which service to do as there was so much to do! The small print of the deal offered an additional 15% off any service which is why I had purchased it. He said he would take care of me but I've never heard back from him either by email, phone or Text. His associate did call about a week later responding to my initial several calls to the office to make that initial appointment where we did meet. But never any contact again. I basically threw away that $99.00.
Description of Work: Needed an estimate for both front and backyard landscaping.

Not well! I called this company because I had a contractor take my money and left me hanging in the middle of a backyard project. I heard nothing but good things about Daniels, and after an absolutely terrible experience, I thought I was in good hands. Daniels came out and looked at the project, appearing to be extremely interested. Keeping in touch every couple days, they explained they would get me a quote soon. Two weeks later I followed up looking for the quote and they informed me they were not interested in my job. I came to them looking for help and they turned their back on me and ran - The exact opposite of what I was looking for. They couldn't even call me as a professional to let me know, they did it through text. Angie's List is great, but it is hard to judge the character of someone until you have the experience yourself. I'm sure these guys have done great, but there is something to be said about someone when they don't want to help a person in need (who is also paying good money), with a new born at home and young family. It is truly unfortunate!

Some things that were not ok include: - Included in our landscape design was a water feature. After it was approved and built, we discovered that Daniel's Landscape does not to electrical work. So now we have a water feature built, but cannot run the water since there is no power. If you have a water feature done by them, be aware that it will not be complete and working, you have to pay extra for that! - We had a grill installed. Again, since they do not do electrical work, the Rotisserie does not work. Again the contract should have stated, they would build a grill, but nothing electrical will work unless you pay more. - Included in the warranty was if any of the plants died within a year, they would be replaced. Well we had to fight to get some replaced. There should be no need to fight to get warranty work. - Last fall, they were suppose to blow out the sprinkler system, but they never did. I think there is a real communication problem with this company. They never return phone calls, and most of the time never even pick up the phone. With the cost of our full landscape project, and the fact that we referred these people to many of our neighbors and so they got a lot of extra business, they should have really worked hard to make sure things were done properly. Many of our neighbors are also complaining that they are not honoring the warranty work now. I would not deal with them again, I would advise to find another company that is more reliable, and will honor their warranty work. If you want a lot of frustration, unreliable warranty work, and just a lot of hassle, then by all means go with them ============== Several Weeks Later ================== We are still having problems with Daniel's Landscape. - The sales person that sold us our landscaping project Rob Law, we learned has left the company. So he does not return any of our calls. This could explain the previous review's comments that no one returned his calls.- According to our landscape design, we are missing about 20 plants. No calls or emails to Daniel the owner are being returned asking about these missing plants.- They installed a water feature for our yard, but that does not include power to the water feature. Now we're getting quotes from electricians, and the extra cost will be anywhere from $1,500 to over $3K! Just to get the water feature working that we payed them to install. There was no fine print saying they would install the water feature but it would never be in working order!- We have also heard that the owner Daniel could not get visas for some workers from Mexico, and so he is having all kinds of problems getting the jobs done that he's promised. If you want a landscape job done on time and on budget, stay away from these people. They will not complete the work they promised, they will not honor their warranties, and it will be a nightmare to deal with them in the future.
Description of Work: We had a full landscape project done. This included: - Stone Patio - Stone outside kitchen and grill - Lawn - Sprinkler system - Water Feature - Trees and plants - Low Voltage Lights

Daniel's Landscaping exceeded our expectations! We received a quote in late spring, got on the schedule and the job started when they said it would. The transformation of the back yard is amazing; we keep walking around in disbelief that it's ours! The crew: Removed a deteriorating flagstone patio, made sure the ground was leveled properly, and replaced with a beautiful buff flagstone and concrete patio. Built an awesome satellite patio from the same material. Placed 3 landscaping boulders...perfectly around the satellite patio Removed unsightly rock from under deck and replaced with pavers for a much more functional and clean space. Repurposed some of the existing flagstone by creating nice walkways where it made sense. Built new stone flower bed on the front of the house. Removed all of the debris and materials at the end of the job. Was always punctual, polite, hard working and tidy. We communicated with Daniel daily and he was always calm and professional; working hard to stay within our relatively small budget but still managing to give us many extras. He came to the job site personally to make sure everything was going as planned and to keep us informed. I appreciated that it was the same crew on the project and that they worked until a reasonable hour. We also appreciated that they were there everyday until the job was complete (5.5 days) All in all, a great experience and we wouldn't hesitate to call Daniel again or recommend Daniel's Landscaping to others.

Daniel's Landscape seems to have bitten off more than they can chew with this Angie's List Deal, as the people that I talked to wanted to make it perfectly clear that they only wanted to come out if I were willing to spend at least $10,000 on my landscaping project. I was quoted at "at least $13,000" to landscape my back yard, and that was with no details as to what and why it would cost that much. I did receive a quote two days later for considerably more than $13000, which did itemize the costs. However the quoted price was laughable. I received no professional insight or advice (the man I met with basically wanted to replace all of the landscaping that I had torn out). I received no drawing in my proposal. The man I met with was punctual, that's the best thing I can say about the whole experience. I basically paid $100 for a free estimate. I feel like I was ripped off by Angie's list. I'm new to Angie's List so I don't know if this type of thing is common. I will never buy another "deal" from them again. I would imagine Daniel's Landscaping feels much the same way.

For this review to be accurate, I must make a distinction between the designer (Tim Dupont, who is no longer with Daniels) and Daniel and the crew. Tim listened to me and created an innovative design that took my concerns into consideration, as well as budget. His extensive experience in the field and desire to have it done right is obvious. He was in regular communication and prompt with returning any texts or calls. Tim saved my project from a careless and sloppy crew and a boss (Daniel) that did not seem to care about quality or customer service. Unfortunately, he did this at the expense of being able to keep up with other work (since he had to babysit this crew). Mine was one of the first projects on the calendar. Daniel and crew: The crew was sloppy and cut corners. While it could be that some were new to landscaping, the foreman had worked with Daniels for years apparently and allowed for this. For example, they didn't till the new soil I purchased into the soil, were very sloppy with the cement and stone work (leaving huge chunks of cement to dry in very visible places for no reason), and running the drip line across the middle of the backyard instead of routing it around the edge. They didn't mark or tie up the cut hose for drip lines, so it needed to be 'found' and handled. They never seemed to follow the plan even though they had the plan the entire time and Tim had reviewed it with them. They left the street and sidewalk a mess after each workday and I was concerned I'd hear from the HOA. One got the impression that the crew wasn't interested in learning how to do it right or about quality. As for Daniel, I only saw him for about two minutes at the beginning when he arrived to take my 50% deposit check. He never stopped by the job site again, despite Tim's concerns about quality and saying that he would. The crew seemed to understand this -- if Daniel isn't concerned about quality, customer service, or following a plan, why should they care? If it weren't for Tim babysitting the crew and having to make them redo things every day of the job (and I worked from home during that time to keep an eye), my project would have been a disaster. I'm giving the D/F grade so other potential clients will be aware and spare themselves the grief and frustration.

I purchased an "Angie's List Deal" for a landscape design and went on to an online scheduling which was easy and had a fair number of options. The next day, I received a phone call to schedule a visit to review my landscaping ideas. Tim was unavailable for any of the timeslots that I had chosen from the website but we found a time that worked. He arrived on time and was friendly enough. He did not take any measurements or photos of my land. He warned me that the "deal" had given him a lot of new work and it might be a couple of weeks until he was done. Five weeks went by before a co-worked of his called to arrange for another site visit because Tim couldn't get to mine. OK, so he came out and again, no measurements and no photographs. A week and a half later I received an estimate for the work to be completed but NO DESIGN - which is what I ordered AND PAID FOR!! I requested a refund of my purchase price but am afraid that because it is after the 30 days guaranteed by Angie's List, I will not see it since THEY dragged their feet to even get to my job. All I want at this time is a refund on money paid. Professionalism from both men I met is lacking and their inability to communicate with me in a timely manner and give me an equitable resolution forces me to give Daniel's Landscaping and FFFF.

We just had our project completed. They did excellent work! Tim and his crew were a delight to work with, very responsive and flexible. They had great ideas. We are so very pleased with the result. All of the staff we worked with from Marc to Jennifer to Tim and his crew were so professional. Their pricing was exactly what they quoted. We got excellent value for our investment. We could tell from the very beginning that everyone truly enjoyed what they were doing and took pride in their work. If you want your project to be high quality, done right, on time, and on budget, use Daniel's. We highly recommend them.

I contacted this company because of very good reviews in the past. They were original very courteous in scheduling a consultation with me. When they failed to show up for the consultation, I called to inquire what happened. They were very apologetic, and assured me another member of the team would call me right back to re-schedule the consult. Unfortunately, no one every called. I found this unprofessional to say the least, and it was rather disappointing.

Description of Work: Purchased a deal via Angie's list website for $99 landscape consultation. After two weeks of no contact from this vendor, I emailed them directly. After another week of absolutely no contact, I decided to cancel the whole thing and get my money back. Currently waiting on Angie's list to refund my money. Horrible experience to say the least. Angie's list. If you are reading this, please contact me to discuss a refund. I want my money back. Please flag him for fraud. Other customers, stay away. Don't believe those great reviews. He is a dishonest contractor who doesn't care about you once he gets your money.
Description of Work: I bought the current deal through Angie's list $99 for landscape design. No one called me. I contacted them the next Monday 3 days after to schedule an appointed. I left a message on a voicemail. After two more days with no call back from them, I wrote a message on the Angie's list. No one contacted me back. 3 more days after I called again and finally Daniel picked up the phone. When he heard that I bought the deal on Angie's list, he suddenly said that he is busy right now and asked if he can call me back. I said ok. He never did.

I hired Daniel's Landscape and Design over other landscapers because of their excellent customer service. Tim Dupont, my landscape designer/salesman, was excellent. He has over 30 years of experience with Colorado plants and weather and it showed! He was able to recommend the best trees and flowers for my yard and they look great! His service after the sale was just as impressive. He came out everyday during the construction to make sure the workers were doing things according to mine/his plan and to make sure I was satisfied. He even came by on the last day after everything was planted to make sure the plants looked their best; pruning and watering them until late into the evening. He also helped me reprogram my sprinkler system since I didn't know how to set the timers for the newly installed drip lines. I would highly recommend Daniel's Landscape and Design and Tim Dupont!

Daniel's was great to work with. All of the work was finished in less than a week. They were very flexible and willing to work with us on the price to remove/add various features to get the price where we wanted it. Rob and Daniel were both responsive when we needed help or had questions. When things didn't go exactly as planned they were honest and fair. I would (and plan to) use them again. Landscaping can be interesting but we got exactly what was promised from Daniels. Thanks guys.

After getting a prompt estimate from Daniel for our project, he was able to start very quickly. His crew were able to construct a very beautiful flagstone patio with a natural gas fire pit and a pondless waterfall in 4 days. It is a true work of art. He did not compromise quality for speed or $$ and responded promptly, to any questions we had. We are very pleased with the final result and will use Daniel's Landscape and Design in the future as well as recommend him to our family and friends..

What a great experience! When we moved from Parker to Castle Rock, we downsized to a smaller home and almost a nonexistent backyard. We had a budget in mind and invited three landscaper come out. Of the three, Daniel's Landscaping quote came within our budget and the work exceed our expectations. Rob Law was the one that spent several hours at the onset helping us envision our new back yard. Even when the masonry work was already started and we asked for design changes, Rob always found a way to make it happen. Rob continued to communicate with us throughout the project. The owner, Daniel was instrumental in helping manage that the project was completed to our satisfaction. Our fireplace, waterfall and landscaping will be used and appreciated for years to come.

Soon after the flagstone and cement patio extension were completed, the flag stone and cement patio extension separated from the concrete porch area. I contacted a representative of Daniel's Landscape and Design to request repairs. They did not respond to my original or numerous phone calls until 14 days after the initial call. A call I placed to request the company to honor their warranty. Below is an email I received from the company basically telling me that my job is not important and that it is only a "cosmetic" problem so they didn't have a pressing need to come out and address and fix the problem in a timely manner. Please note that the initial contract to put in a retaining wall, capping of existing concrete porch area and the cement patio extension were all "cosmetic." We never had a structural need. I am including an excerpt from their email to us responding to our concerns so that you can see how they will address your concerns and how they will treat you as a customer. The following is part of the email we received from Daniel's Landscaping and Design: "The basis for your dispute is frivolous and without merit. Nonetheless, the following is provided for your informational purpose so that you can make an "educated" choice going forward rather than insisting that it is Daniel's responsibility to resolve this dispute beyond honoring his warranty and facilitating your repairs. Your hairline cracks were not of a structural nature and were cosmetic only. There was NOT a pressing need to come out there immediately to address them as they would have been addressed. We have NEVER not taken care of a warranty issue. We are not going to start with you regardless of the way in which you have conducted yourself throughout our dealings. While you would not recommend using our service, I'm confident that the feeling is reciprocated. We would not recommend to another contractor that they work for you."

Includes capping exiting concrete porch area using red select flag stone and cement. Build red flagstone and cement walkway from driveway area to front porch area including (2) steps. 2. Install bluegrass blend sod and amend soil as necessary for currently play area 3. Add to 1 zone of irrigation to existing sprinkler system for new sod area 4. Install weed barrier and 1.5" river rock to match existing river rock 5. These guys were great! Came to the house for original bid and consultation. He was happy to work within our budget. Got a formal bid via email. Accepted bid and scheduled. They called the company to come mark utilities. Once that was done they were there as promised and came in with 4-6 guys (varied at times) and had the entire job done in 4 hours. Foreman had good suggestions and kept us informed. They completely cleaned up after themselves--swept the road, picked up everything and left no trace! They were great.. I am thrilled with the work they did! Would definitely use them again and recommend to anyone.
Description of Work: Landscaped one corner of the yard--moved a lot of rocks and spread them throughout the back yard where needed and/or wherever we asked them to, leveled corner, placed small 30' long retaining wall (small block 1-4 levels) , planted 4 large, nice quality trees, planted small bushes and plants (which we had purchased), filled new area with planter's mix dirt, mulch,, and ran drip lines and sprinklers to all trees and plants.

The job at hand was quite large as it was an addition to an existing patio, a fire-pit was installed / built , and stone columns were added to the front yard which added considerable curb appeal to an already beautiful landscape. Rob was pleasant, professional, and courteous at all times. We liked his ideas and used some of them. He listened as well as contributed some solid design ideas. Workers were creative, on time, cleaned up after they left at the end of the job, and were respectful whenever we needed to speak with them or ask any questions. Overall we are quite pleased with the outcome / result of the work promised and delivered By Daniel's Landscape and Design.
Description of Work: Daniel's installed a fire-pit, stone steps, four columns, and a slate patio.

I contacted Daniel on 02/02/2015 to schedule an estimate to have one sidewalk replaced, and another one added, for a total of 300 square feet. He initially was very responsive and scheduled a time two days later to come out and see the property. He arrived right as scheduled and I discussed all options with him. He told me he would email my bid to me by the close of business the following day. I never received any bid whatsoever. Four days later, I emailed him to ask if he had time to complete the estimate for me. Still haven't heard back from him. Nothing even in the spam folder. Very disappointed. If the job is to small, I understand, but at least communicate that to your customers......

Daniel's crew led by Cory and four very experienced hardscape employees did an outstanding job throughout the two week project. The folks arrived when scheduled and worked between 9 and 10 hour days to complete the project in a timely fashion with very professional workmanship. We would not hesitate to recommend him for similar work!
Description of Work: Replace existing paver patio and stone flower boxes with new lower, more functional boxes, redo the paver patio and lay flagstone patio. Also, raised our front pond to become more visible from the street and added landscape lighting.

I received multiple quotes from area landscapers and Daniel's was the best value. He suggested alternatives to my design and gave multiple quotes so I could understand the choices and cost impacts. Once we agreed to the work it took a couple weeks to get his crew scheduled (but this was expected... it was in the middle of summer and Daniel explained the current workload on his schedule). Daniel was also accommodating with my HOA when they asked for multiple rounds of drawings and explanations before approving the landscaping. Once we had approval we dove in. The first day was hard to believe. I left for work and came home to nearly all the plant, rock, and irrigation work complete. My neighbors were all commenting that things looked great. I couldn't believe the change that happened in 10 hours. It didn't even look like my yard. Next was extending the concrete pad. Daniel had previous experience in this area and made sure that the concrete was tied into my existing slab properly for extra stability. He even pointed out some flaws in the original work my builder had done and was able to fix a couple trouble spots. The final piece was the custom fireplace. This did have a couple hiccups (the block was laid off-center initially, but Daniel tore it down and had it fixed), but overall was still better than I had expected. Daniel was able to match the flagstone used by my builder on our front porch so the fireplace ties in nicely with the original construction. It's tough going into a landscaping project when you're starting with essentially a blank canvas. Daniel's drawing weren't the most detailed, but after meeting with him I knew I could trust him. We're very happy with the results... AND things came in slight under budget, which is a miracle these days. It's one of the first times I've had the final bill work out to be LESS than the quote after the work is complete.
Description of Work: Daniel and his crew landscaped the side yard/patio of our newly built home in Denver. We extended our existing concrete slab, buried the drainage gutters, extended an existing natural gas line, built a custom masonry fireplace, laid river rock around new perennials and trees, extended our existing sprinkler system to irrigate the new plants, and added pavers to create a walkway through the rock.
