Bell sent a plumber to my house to address a clogged toilet on our 2nd floor bathroom. The plumber managed to pull the toilet before draining the toilet and, potentially, other piping. This caused water to flood my bathroom and ultimately flow into my lower level. I had to hire a water mitigation company to address the damage and ended up having to replace my ceiling on the lower level, along with wall boards. This cost approximately $14,000. Nonetheless, Bell billed me approximately $600 for its fine work (never did fix the toilet) and is now pursuing me through a collection agency called Saturn Systems. Saturn Systems refuses to acknowledge what happened and is now threatening to sue me. I intend to counterclaim for the $14K I spent cleaning up their mess. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY.
Description of Work: Hired Bell to unclog a toilet. All they managed to do was flood my upstairs bathroom, cause water damage to my lower level, and then they tried to charge me for their "work." Ended up with $14,000 in water damage at my house. Bell continues to try to collect for work that was not performed and which caused damage to my house. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY.

We had Bell Home Solutions for an estimate on a new furnace, humidifier, and filtration system. During the course of the estimate, I asked if the newer hot water tank would have to be moved since it is very close to the air return. I also pointed out that I had been concerned that since the the temperature pressure relief valve lever was close to the air return ducting that it might not open fully in an emergency. The estimator said the distance was fine and proceeded to open the lever to demonstrate it would open fully. After opening the lever, water started gushing out the relief piping and would not shut off! The estimator tapped on it with his flashlight and eventually got the water to slow down but it did not completely stop leaking for days! The estimator said Bell would not pay for a replacement valve and installation and I called Bell several times and talked with the estimate department even talked with the service manager but they refused to come and replace the valve. They said that since the valve was over a year old, that they could not be responsible for damages caused since the seals deteriorate. It this was true, the estimator should have never opened that valve in the first place! The cost to have this valve replaced is several hundred dollars and we do not feel we should be responsible to pay for this.
Description of Work: Provided an estimate for a new furnace, humidifier, filtration system. Damaged temperature pressure relief valve on newer water heater and will not remedy the damage. I just now received an invitation from Angie's List to write a review and this is why there has been a delay in this review.

What they did was overpriced. They didn't need any new caulking or parts, but it was billed like it was a complete replacement. I did talk to them and explain and they sent me $50 back. They were here for a very short time and that was an exorbitant amount.

They’ve done some very good work for us on some major projects. There were a couple of smaller projects that were not as well done. There were a couple of issues that had to be redone. Ultimately, it worked okay. The price is really expensive. Within the range of plumbers, they are at the top of the line in cost.

They have a really outstanding plumbing department. They are really good at what they do. They did a lot of work. They basically tore the bathroom down and replaced it in so I don't think that they could have charged any cheaper than that. They did a wonderful job. They did a great job.
Description of Work: We used Bell Home Solutions for a full bathroom remodel. They installed a glass-lined shower and they tore out the tile and refinished the floor. They did the whole thing. They did the cabinets, they put tile on the wall, on the floor, and the shower so the whole thing is just tile. They did the lighting, countertop and sink and they did a lot of plumbing and electrical work.

This is a follow-up to my previous review of Bell. My situation with Bell was resolved to my complete satisfaction. The company surveyed the work performed by their plumber on January 1st and agreed that the plumber misdiagnosed the issue. They promptly refunded ALL the money. I am very pleased with that resolution.

The plumber arrived punctually. Confirmed that the drain in the basement was clogged. Upon unclogging the drain, diagnosed that the sewer pipe removing the sewer from the basement was broken. Since this was a holiday, the plumber told us that the next step would be to place a scope through the pipe to determine where the breakage was and this could only be done the coming Monday. The price for this 2 hour service was $1029.00 but this amount supposedly included the scope procedure that we needed to contact their office and schedule come Monday. On Monday, before calling back Bell, we consulted with our regular plumber who determined that the problem was not a broken pipe but mulfunctioning sewer pump tasked with removing the sewer from the basement and into the main sewer line. Our plumber replaced the pipe and the system started functioning as normal by that Tuesday. We called Bell the following day to let them know that their plumber misdiagnosed the problem, the we do not need for them to perform the scope and that we therefore require a reduction in our bill. Bell person insisted that their plumber was certain that the pipe was actually broken and told us that if we allow them to perform the scope work, our bill would be reduced by half. We refused, being convinced that our plumber performed the correct repair and that the system had no more problems. As of a month later, everything is functioning properly. Bell sent us an invoice for $1029 and did not respond to ANY questions regarding the charges. In fact, at this point, our credit card has been charged twice for $1029 without our authorization - we are currently disputing the charges with our bank. This is the most dishonest conduct, the price for the service performed is absolutely exorbitant, the total lack of response to our questions/comments is at best unprofessional, the fact that our card was charge without authorization is down right stealing. We would NEVER recommend Bell Home Solutions for ANY work you need done in your house.

I'm very sorry you feel we didn't treat you well. I've looked into this matter myself and just left you a voice mail. [Member Name Removed], I'm asking you to please let us camera your line if your other plumber didn't already do that for you. The price you paid is to clear the sewer line on a holiday, but we do include a free camera service any time we detect a problem with a sewer line's integrity, as we did with your sewer line. I spoke with the technician on the site, and he definitely ran into dirt and he couldn't break through it. If our technician did mis-diagnose the problem, I would like to confirm it, at which time I would be very willing to reduce the amount invoiced. Did your other plumber run a camera down the line? All I would like to do for you is camera the line (while you observe) and see if what he felt is truly there. We won't charge anything for this and at the very least you'll have a free video that shows the condition of your sewer line. With respect to the duplicate payment, I apologize for this and it will be rectified immediately. The technician processed your payment in the field and failed to tell the office, who then duplicated the payment. 100% our fault and again I apologize. Please feel free to call me directly - I really want to help. Greg Palmer, President Bell Home Solutions

Beware of this company! It took them a week to come to my house. Then once they came the technician fought with me about replacing my humidifier. I wanted him to install a new one and he wanted to just repair the old one. 20 minutes after he left it started leaking again. When I called to let them know they told me it would be 10 more days until someone else could come fix it. I will never use them again. I called the owner Larry Bell and he wouldn't call me back. He had his service manager Steve Anderson call me back who was not helpful at all. In fact they told me they could squeeze me in three days later but they would charge me a emergency rate. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!

I have used Bell on several other occasions. They are priced higher than other plumbers although their previous work was good and plumbers professional. This trip was a disaster. First the plumber who came did not see to want to be doing plumbing work. He looked at the kitchen faucet briefly, said it could not be fixed and would need to be replaced. So then we went to look at the toilet. For a standard Toto toilet and installation he quoted me $1,200!!! And they'd have to deliver the toilet from the store. Fortunately the current toilet is old but functioning so I was able to say No and they charged me $50 trip charge. I checked online and a Toto Drake in white is somewhere between $200 to $250 and takes one hour to install. Also my husband was able to replace the kitchen faucet. Bell Plumbing is gauging people on prices especially when in a dire plumbing situation.
Description of Work: Bell Plumbing committed to come to my townhouse and replace a toilet with a Toto standard 2 piece toilet and fix a kitchen faucet. The service department indicatde the toilet would be in white (color I needed) and loaded onto the truck with the plumber. Although I knew exactly what I required, after multiple requests they would not give me a pirce quote nor product number on the phone. They indicated the plumber would provide me a quote and if I accepted it, he would proceed on the work.

The service technician arrived as expected and performed what I considered a basic service on the house heating system. The technician was communicative and seemed knowledgable. I previously had a relationship with Bell and at that time they charged an hourly rate with great professional service. At some point Bell converted to some sort of flat-rate service that they quote once they are onsite. I received far less than 2 hours of actual service (especially if you subtract the quoting activity) and paid $520.00 today. Because I needed service asap, I didn't have the luxury to say and quot;noand quot; - from my perspective, I was forced to use them and pay this outrageously high pricing for what I consider very basic, minor, seasonal maintenance service - again, somewhere between 1-2 hours of actual work - closer to 1 hour of actual labor and $0 in parts. Roughly, I paid $500+ for an hour (or maybe slightly more) of actual labor. It's hard to feel good about a transaction of this nature, especially given the tight situation I was in. Was the service delivered? Yes. Did I agree to pay their prices once they were onsite? Yes. Did I express my dissatisfaction with the technician regarding their pricing? Did they offer some pricing flexibility due to my concern? No. In the end, do I feel I was charged an appropriate rate for the service delivered? No way.

Bell used to be THE people to call in Denver, but not anymore! They are OVERPRICED and snarky about it. They charged me $655 to replace two $30 valves. When I asked them to review the bill because it was too high, I was told that the time to review bills like I was asking is part of why their costs are so high! BEWARE! And get a good estimate before you have them come to your home.Price would have been their only F, but the complaining that I was adding to their high costs by taking up time reviewing the pricing made Professionalism an F as well.
Description of Work: Turned the hot water off and cold water on so that we would have water in the house after our water heater imploded. This involved one hour of work (albeit on a Sunday) and replacing 2 valves. They charged $655 for this!

Bill Pataluna. He knew to cut into the ceiling, we wanted to put a water system in the laundry room and he run the necessary pipe to the water treatment system and a pipe over and across the laundry room and come out into the laundry sink for the discharge. We were most impressed with a vago in that he did a meticulous job in making sure everything was neat and straight and the hole cut in the ceiling was very preciously done so that we can get a cover and put into it. The pipes leading to the water treatment system were all done so that you can put it on and turn it off. All the face work was just perfect. I wish they were always lower priced.

Bell Heating I had my basement finished and as a result, had some furnace / air conditioner problems. This is the third company I have contacted in trying to get things working. The second was ineffective in their work and never charged me for anything. At least they were honest. To see the full chain of reports, go to Basement Finishing Colorado on this site and read on. My furnace had blown a fuse when I tried my air conditioner for the first time after the big basement job and as a chain of events, I called Bell to fix it. My brother and family were coming down in mid July, and it was the 9th already! So they sent a man over, and in 30 min he had the air blowing cold and clean! In less than 45 min he was on his way, I was so happy. I paid $114 which was much less than other company I had contacted so how cool is that!? All went great with my visitors and all summer. But then, the weather changed to cool and the furnace wouldn?t heat now. It tried to come on but wouldn?t. I called Bell again and asked for the same fellow as he was familiar with my situation, having called two other companies and all. He went down with me there to see what was the matter. In only about 5 minuets he found a connector unplugged to the gas valve. I know the heater had worked last year so couldn?t think what was going on. I kind of thought shouldn?t he make sure things are complete when he was in there the first time? Some people would be suspicious at this up turn of events. The guy was so quick to fix the original problem, he had to know what he was doing so why did the connector not get put back? I paid this time, $131 so was over $240 but now had heat and cold air. I guess I have to be ok with it, they have the upper hand. Well, things were going well, but the air is so very dry. The humidity is around 30%. Turning up the humidity regulator does not do anything. This time I took the cover off the furnace, a dangerous thing with all the power and fan blowing and just scary! Well, I found some more wires just hanging. I followed these and they come from the regulator. So, I have no working humidifier. I?m not calling these guys again, it would cost too much, they have ways of getting the maximum dollar for sure! Some folks you just don?t want in your house. So, with all the happenings, I have no good recommendation for a heat/air repair company, all the ones I tried to fix the originals screw up, three in all didn?t perform up to the money spent. Sorry everybody.

I called Bell Plumbing, who I had used on previous occasions, and told the woman who makes service appointments explicitly that I needed a thermocouple replaced on my gas fireplace. I also had a noisy toilet that I wanted them to check. When the technician arrived (promptly on time) he informed me that they did not replace thermocouples, and that I would have to call a fireplace service company. Since I had been explicit in my call to Bell about what I needed, I wasn't happy about this. Since I was liable for a $79 service call, I had him take a look at my noisy toilet. He diagnosed the problem as a water inlet valve that needed replacement. This is a $5-10 part and I knew it would take him perhaps 10-15 minutes to replace it, as I have done this kind of repair myself on previous occasions. He went to his price book and informed me the repair would be $325. I was incredulous. This is well beyond a reasonable price for such a simple repair. The last time I hired them, admittedly many years ago, they charged by the hour. Now it is based on a seemingly arbitrary price in a binder that charges by the job, not by the time. I grudgingly agreed to the repair but I am giving fair warning to people who need plumbing or heating service that be sure you get a price estimate on the phone before you have a plumber arrive at your house. I will not, under any circumstances, use this plumbing company again.
