It's Murphy's law that all plumbing issues happen on nights, weekends and/or holidays. So I was delightfully surprised when this team got back to me right away and came to our home within 2 hours. He was professional, clean (both equipment, had mats to protect floor, wiped everything down, etc.), punctual and fairly priced. A plumbing outfit with a conscience... wow. I would absolutely use this vendor again and highly recommend them to others. Outcome was that there was nothing substantially blocking the pipe, but the process removed the backup and that's what we wanted. He even left "freebies" like a drain cleaning device and a box of gloves we could use for caulking to fix another plumbing issue I asked him about.
Description of Work: Rooted main drain pipe in basement to fix backup in kitchen and basement sinks.

Ross came out within hours of being called and arrived at the time he said that he would. While he was out getting the parts that were needed for the job, one of the major spring blizzards started. Even though it was white-out conditions, he returned and completed the shower fixture repair so we could take showers. We agreed that he should go back home while he could as the snow was accumulating very quickly. He returned, as promised, over the weekend to replace the drain tree that was leaking. Ross worked diligently and completed that tree and cleaned up his mess. We asked him to replace the other drain tree a couple of weeks later when it was a better time for us both. Again he did his work with little disturbance to my family and cleaned up when he left. Aside from being an efficient plumber, we found Ross to be a very friendly and likeable person. My dogs even like him!

Everything went very well. As previously stated, Ross came out on the same day I called. I explained the problem and he located the source of the leak in about 10 seconds. He proceeded to fix the leak and had to work from below, going up through the leaky ceiling. He covered everything with a tarp, so there was absolutely no mess when he left. He explained everything he was doing, which included an unexpected trip to the store for a part. He also fixed the shower faucet, which was dripping. In addition, we had a sink that was slow draining and he left me with a little gadget to clean out the drain, after demonstrating how to use it. That was great!
Description of Work: Our bathtub on the 2nd floor had a leak, which cause damage to the ceiling below. I called Master Blasters on Monday morning, and Ross came out on Monday afternoon, calling to let me know when he was en route. He located and repaired the leak, plus fixed the faucet, which was also leaking.

I will ask him back to fix my plumbing problems.
Description of Work: I called Ross out to check the main drain into the house, but it was a localized problem in two sinks. He fixed those, then installed a new bathroom sink stopper and then a new faucet system in the kitchen. That required him to saw off the old faucet set which he did cheerfully, even though it was very hard work. He didn't mind the extra tasks I added.

My entire water system had to be flushed because little pellets clogged it to the point that toilets wouldn't flush, no water from the sinks and the most disgusting mustard colored stuff flowing from water that did run. Ross was amazing. Who knew a plumber could be so cool?! Great service, knew who to call at the water quality department at Denver Water (this was an odd issue!), and then right to work making sure the system was clear of this nasty little pellet monster that crept in through the water softener (my recommendation: don't use them in Denver!). Anyway...Ross is exactly what you want in someone who is rescuing you for something about which you know nothing.
Description of Work: Ross flushed my entire system while recalibrating and tweaking 5 toilets that were clogged with the muck that was in the water system. He repaired/replaced all the fill valves that were corroded from the muck.

The old water line, which was copper, had to be replaced because it was attached to the hot water line instead of cold water. This was a significant effort. It also required to leaving to get more parts and we were not charged for the trip (we don't live near anything) or the time. During all the work, Ross visibly hustled, and he cleaned up behind himself.

Ross arrived to our house 1 hour later than his prescribed window, but when he got here, he got right to work and worked very hard. He suggested a time and materials pricing rather than a fixed price bid for the two toilets. It took Ross several hours to put together the multiple pice toilet since he had to replce the flange at the bottom, but he had the correct parts in his van and was able to complete the job. The single piece took him much less time, and the repair of the third toilet was a breeze for him. The two toilets look great and work well. Ross asked if we needed any other work done while he was here. He showed me how to correctly install a shower head and he gave me some drain repair tools in case we get some clogged drains. Ross was also very careful to clean up after the job very well. All in all, Ross was great and I would not hesitate to use Master Blaster in the future. His hard work and dedication was evident all day long while he was here.
Description of Work: Ross installed 2 new toilets and repaired one toilet. One toilet was a multiple piece dual flush, the other was a single piece single flush.

I called Ross in the morning. He said he had a little window of time and was at my house in less than 1 hour. Really nice guy. Got right to work, found the problem and even showed me what it was. I told him about a problem with my toilet and he fixed that too! Had to run to Home Depot for a washer and didn't charge me for that time! I am having him come back to do some more work for me, that's how much I liked him and his caring way with his customers.

Well, it's hard to say that a flood "went well", but thanks to Ross, a large amount of damage was mitigated, and the pipes are in better shape than before, with some old plumbing idiosyncrasies fixed, so hopefully this won't happen again. I came home late in the evening on a Wednesday to a flooded basement. My sister, who'd discovered the flood, had called Denver Water, and they came by and turned off the main supply line to the house. Thus, it was cold and right before Christmas and we had no water. I called two plumbers that I found on Angie's list to leave messages -it was 10:PM, and I was just planning to leave the messages so we'd hear from them the next day. To my amazement, Ross and the other plumber CALLED ME BACK WITHIN 20 MINUTES!! I was so impressed. Ross had time to come by the very next day, and he did. He resolved the issue quickly by shutting off a valve and assessing the damage to the pipes, then turning the mains back on so we could live normally. He confirmed that the damage should be covered by insurance, since the pipes were in the walls of a heated house. Once we clarified with the insurance company (State Farm) that the bill would be covered, Ross came back and did extensive repairs, explaining to me what he did and why, and improving a few things (mis-installed valve) to help keep such an event from happening again. The third time Ross came was on Christmas day. Pipes that had frozen and burst were now flowing again. The ones Ross had fixed before were fine. However, we discovered that the idiots who had installed the sprinkler system had tapped the main water line to the house to feed the sprinkler system. They hadn't put the feeder line below the freeze line, and since it was coming from the mains, it wasn't a line that could be blown out (I'd had the sprinkler system blown out). Thus, 30 minutes before Christmas guests were due, we discovered water gushing and spraying out of the line, pooling near the foundation of the house. I called Ross and left a message. I wasn't sure what the next step would be (call Denver Water and have all the water to the house shut off over Christmas weekend?), but then Ross called. He was on his way with his mother to deliver gifts to a Christmas charity, and yet he took the time to come by and repair my pipe. Amazing. Again, he showed me what he was doing and explained the consequences. He didn't even charge me. Amazing. Now THAT IS SERVICE.
Description of Work: Ross came three times: 1. He turned off a supply line to a broken valve to stop flooding, and assessed damage to pipes that had frozen. 2. He repaired the water line break due to frozen pipes. Repaired pipes in the basement wall, repaired a supply line to the sprinkler system, replaced an improperly installed ball valve 3. He came ON CHRISTMAS DAY and repaired a leak in the main line to the sprinkler system that had sprung and was about to cause another flood.

Although our first appointment had to be rescheduled because Ross ran late, I'm very glad we didn't call someone else and waited the week for Ross to come and do the work. He arrived promptly within the timeframe he gave us. He explored the problem we were having as he ran several troubleshooting tests to determine exactly what was wrong. He explained all of this to me in a straightforward way. As a woman I greatly appreciated his communication style as he was not condescending nor did he "dumb down" his explanation. He explained the costs involved after he offered several maintenance and helpful hints about some other issues i asked him about. He even removed a stuck hose extension on a utility sink for free. He did the work in the time alloted, cleaned everything impeccably and left us happy campers. I look forward to interacting with Ross again and would recommend him to anyone.

this went as well as a plumbing emergeny can go--Master Blaster was available the day I called and also the next morning on a holiday (which worked better for me). Master Blaster also had the right equipment for the job, which is impressive, because about half the people I've called previously showed up with toy rotorooters. The pricing was quite competitive.
Description of Work: The main service performed was drain cleaning. There was also prelimianry analysis and after the main line had been cleaned out to the sewer, testing to make sure that the lines were clear. We also discussed the results and whether or not any additonal or followup treatments were indicated (they weren't).

I cannot tell you how much I recommend this plumber. He previously fixed three of my toilets for far less than anyone else's quote. Then, several months later, when one of the toilets began to leak, he came out the next day, fixed the faulty part, that a home improvement store provided, and gave me a simple gadget to help clean my sink drain so it wouldn't clog. He did all this in exactly the time he estimated, and refused to charge me. No trip charge, no tip allowed. What a wonderful plumber, and person, who really goes the extra mile because its the right thing to do. I highly recommend him, and will send an email to all my neighbors. I find the best help from my Angie's list subscription!

excavators, plumbing, drain pipe

The original estimate was approximately $5300 based on length and estimated depth. The excavation was subcontracted to a pipe line replacement contractor, which is common practice with plumbers. Unfortunately, a major phone line that had not been identified by the locater was nicked by the excavator and operations were halted until the locater returned and could identify the line and contact Quest. It took Quest until Friday to come out to repair the line. The sewer line was connected on Tuesday, so we were back in business. However, the excavation near the main sewer remained open until Quest could get a repairman there. This was not a major inconvenience to us since we were not using the backyard at this time of year. Ross kept in touch with us as we dealt with the delays and complications. He kept us informed of the situation and his intention to make things right. The excavator cracked a small chunk of an existing concrete pad during the operation. Ross worked closely with us to get all the complications straightened out and because of the delays and extenuating issues, negotiated a reduced price. While the job encountered a variety of complications, we were pleased to know that he was honest, straightforward and willing to adjust the cost based on the circumstances. The drain works as expected and we achieved our goal, a worry free sewer. It is easy to rate a service provider when everything goes according to plan. Nothing on this job went according to plan and yet Ross's response reflected a genuine desire to keep the customer's interests paramount. We highly recommend using him again and in fact, have already discussed additional plumbing work.
Description of Work: After reviewing some competing bids for replacing a damaged vitrified clay residential sewer drain, we selected Master Blaster based on their Angie's List ratings, comments on their honesty and their 5-year warranty on the workmanship. The drain from our house exits the basement in the backyard at a depth of approximately nine feet and connected to the main sewer at around twelve feet deep nearly 70 feet away. They replaced the existing drain line with 4" PVC drain line, bedded it in 6" of gravel below and 12" of gravel above to meet code. They also installed a "Y" connection for access to cleaning the drain in either direction. The excavation crossed main power to the house, a sprinkler line and a major Quest phone line near the connection with the main sewer. The job commenced on a Monday and was not completely finished until the following Monday due to complications with a phone line near the main sewer connection.

When you buy a new home you have all the "to dos" and they handled the plumbing "to dos." He was great! He did not charge us when he had to make a run to the store for parts. That was a plus. He was with us in the summer. I am retired and my grandson, who is six, was with us the whole time. My grandson is in to everything and was in there looking and the plumber was so patient and nice with him. It did not seem to bother him. He explained things to and was great. He was responsive but he had a lot of work. I can't fault him for having a lot of work.

Ross determined the slow drain was due to a worn disposal. He installed a new one quickly, and cleaned up everything when he was done. Since I had previous problems with tree roots clogging the sewer line, he suggest and applied a RootX treatment. Much easier than risk damaging the line by rotoring and reduces root growth. I called Master Blaster because they were the top recommendation on the plumbing list. He was on-time, personable, knowledgeable and professional. His suggestions made sense. I highly recommend his services to anyone in need of a plumber!

Excellent experience! There was a leak in the water line from meter to house was resulting in astronomical water usage. Called for a quote on Saturday morning after other companies had recommended trenching through the front yard to fix the problem. Two job managers arrived within an hour to offer an estimate and concluded that the leaking pipe could probably be pulled out and replaced, thus avoiding the destruction of my front yard landscaping. I gave them the go ahead on the spot and they were able to get a crew out and working within two hours! The crew was professional and friendly and they were able to complete the job that day!

We found Ross to be very knowledgeable and informative. He checked our water pressure and made some suggestions to improve our plumbing, which we could do ourselves. He went out of his way to ensure the installation met code and did some extra work to fix previous code errors. Highly professional and open to explaining our plumbing needs.
Description of Work: Pur water heater was leaking and needed to be replace immediately. Ross answered his cell on the second ring, submitted a cost estimate, and was at my door 1 & 1/2 hours later with a GE 12 year warranty from the hardware store. He charged me the same for the heater as I would have paid if I had picked it up. Two hours later, the heater was installed and the old one was out of the house. He checked all the vents, replaced the connections and made sure everything was up to code. Ross cleaned up after himself and left a very clean installation.

I have never experienced such an articulate and obviously conscientious plumber, always anxious to have us understand exactly what he was doing and the pricing. He is an unusual plumber, and I would certainly recommend him in the future.
Description of Work: My intention was to have our water heater given a routine inspection and drained. The plumber, Ross, offered to come immediately, but I asked him rather to come the next morning, which he did. He carefully and patiently explained the functioning of the appliance and, since there is no drain located near it, drained it through a hose out the window. Time was left within his minimum, so he offered to do any other work within the time still remaining. I asked him to inspect a drain in the laundry room, which he did, informing us of the necessity of doing certain easy maintenance tasks in the future, and warning us of common scare scams used recently in the area to create unnecessary work for plumbers.

Ross is great. He's impressive with his obvious intelligence and professionalism...definitely not the usual run-of-the mill plumber. He seems to genuine care about his customers and doing a quality job at an affordable price. I have multiple bids on the job. MsterBlaster was not the cheapest, but the price charged was reasonable, and I was able to relax, knowing I was in good hands after my horrible experience with others.
Description of Work: The contractor I'd paid to renovate bathrooms did an "illegal" job. Their mistakes caused huge overflow, which led to collapsing ceiling and damage to kitchen and to another bathroom in basement. Ross quickly understood the problem, knew to pull a permit, and did the work expediently and at a reasonable price.
