Had a few friends over one night and discovered the toilet was flushing a little bit of water out from underneath the base onto the floor! Yikes. Took the toilet off myself and wax ring looked good, couldn't see why the water was leaking. Besides that, the valve for the incoming water line to the toilet was not working at all, so we had to shut all the water off for the house to take a look at this problem. Not good. Called Master Blaster and Manny came over a few hours later - quick service and not an emergency or anything! He replaced the wax ring with some fancy rubber business that went deeper into the sewer line, properly balanced the toilet with shims, sealed it correctly (and per code) to the floor, and also fixed our valve issue! (He cut the end of the pipe off - other side of the wall was accessible - put a new pipe piece on with a blow torch, adding a proper valve that we can shut off if we need to.) No more turning all the water off in the house if we need to mess w/that toilet...can't imagine we ever will with Manny's great work. I was asking him some other questions about the incoming water line from the city (we have an old, 1927 house in the Highlands - low water pressure), a leaky shower faucet upstairs (not repairable without replacing the pipes behind the wall, he said), and some general questions. Man, this guy knows everything! Very detailed, professional, knowledgabe. He said he could help us design features in the upstairs bath when we remodel it. "Have you ever tried a steam shower? Here's how we can make it work for you..." This guy is triple A+++, Five Stars, absolutely amazing. I told him he should wear a cape to work. For the money, we got an absolute expert, we know the job was done right and we won't have to pay to have it fixed in the future!! (Manny said to call him anytime if something goes awry. I'm confident it won't.) Really impressed. Finding someone as awesome as Manny is the reason we joined Angie's List.
Description of Work: Repaired toilet leak at the base, replaced incoming water line/valve to the toilet that we could not shut off.

They were not a drywall company but they had to cut a couple of holes in our drywall but they didn’t make any referrals to anybody. They didn’t give us ideas to do that work. They were very professional and they were responsive. They showed up when they were supposed to show up and did the work they were supposed to do. The work seems to be very good.
Description of Work: I used the service of Master Blaster Plumbing & Drain LLC about two months ago to reset a couple of toilets and repair the floor.

We are in the middle of a major remodel and knew we had to address our sewer main line (because it had backed up 3-4 times in the 9 years we have lived here). We used Angie's List to find reputable plumbers to do a scope with a DVD. Master Blaster came up high on the list and had a coupon, conveniently. (The 3 other plumbers I called, who also ranked highly, charged about $100 more for a camera scope with DVD.) The scope revealed some major cracks, root intrusion, etc. Brett was exceedingly patient with our many questions while doing the camera scope (and our kids being present, who were also very interested). He explained the current situation, mapped out the pipe (with fluorescent spray paint), and recommended the full main line replacement. [We did later find out from some other companies who reviewed the DVD to provide us with quotes- that their recording equipment has more options. For example, we viewed everything upside down on the video- from the perspective of the camera. Other companies may provide a full, written report, edit the DVD for concision, etc. But these were not crucial to us for our purposes because we knew we had to do something.] We obtained quotes from two other very good plumbers- Apex and Sullivan (and I believe they would provide excellent service). They both seem very professional and reputable (Sullivan was actually scheduling out several weeks in advance). However, one quote came in over $1600 higher for pipe-bursting and we just weren't as sure they "got" how important keeping the Lilac was to us. And the other gave us two options: one was to line the existing pipe with a sleeve (and this was about $1000 less than our Master Blaster quote) but again, would most likely damage the Lilac more, and the other involved lining the pipe in two directions (for several thousand more than our MB quote) but would preserve the Lilac (except there would be a small gap left because he believed we had a 3" cast-iron section and he could only line the 4" pipe). We thought the price Brett quoted us for a full replacement was very fair. (Typically, our experience is that there's a surcharge added the minute we mention we live in Boulder. And yet, like many here, budget is very important.) I'm especially glad that despite the possibility that Master Blaster could coast on their good reviews (and seem to be very busy), our very recent experience shows that they still care about providing great quality of work and customer service at an excellent price. I'll update this again if we encounter any issues (as we're unable to move back into our house until next year- although our basement bathroom continues to be in use as we work on the house so we assume we'll hear of any problems if they happen).
Description of Work: The sewer main line was replaced from the cast to clay connection to the city line. They put in a bi-directional clean out. They gave us Schedule 40 PVC, instead of the usual Schedule 30. This was ideal for us because of the greater thickness and durability (but is supposedly set by Code of the City you live in). They handled all Permits and scheduled the work on fairly short notice (for installation the next day). We especially appreciated the great care they took with a very old Lilac Bush (that is over 15' tall) and was within a few feet of the original clean out. The Crew arrived on time and completed the work by the end of day, with some minor asphalt work the next morning. They were very careful and had two utility locates come out early that morning to confirm the locations for Gas and Water. Their Materials and Labor carry a warranty of 2 years (which is twice the standard warranty we could find with other very good companies as well). We were especially pleased that the work was done well, on time, and as quoted- with the extra care given to the work around the Lilac. Thank you, Brett and Master Blaster!

Gregg the technician came right on tiime (same day.) I showed him the leaky pipe in the basement and the dripping shower valve in the bathroom. He fully explained what he was going to do. He took time to tell me that the shower valve can normally be fixed by rebuilding it but sometimes the valve body was damaged and needs to be replaced. So he set realistic expectations for me. He completed both repairs and the shower valve was able to be rebuilt. He totally rocked and I would never use any other plumbing service. If you are unsure who to use for quick service, fair price and great experience pick these guys!

I guess one could say that things went as well as could be expected. Although, I had not anticipated that this was going to be a 500.00 dollar day. The basement drain had been getting more and more recalcitrant, so I finally decided to "bite the bullet," and summon a plumber. So I cased out "the list" and called the Master Blaster folks. I liked the name, it had a nice authoritative ring to it. It did not take long for David to deliver the bad news. He could either poke a hole through the accumulations of goo, or blast it out and away. I am kind of proud of myself that I did not shriek, when he said blasting would cost $650.00. I did, however, scrabble around for my little Angie's list coupon, that the nice people from Master Blasters offer, which brought the charge down to 585.00. We did have to wait a little while, for someone to come and assist him, which was no problem. Shortly thereafter, the pipes, basement and bathtub, were clean, and I got the good news that my pipes do not seem to have any kind of a downward slant to them, and any little thing I put down the garbage disposal, will just naturally come to rest somewhere halfway along my back yard to the alley. It is good to know these things. David told us that Master Blasters was one of the most reasonable companies in regard to plumbing services, and I am happy to take his word for it. I would have no hesitation about availing my pipes of their services, should the need arise, Oh please Lord, just not any time soon. Nice people, excellent service. I am sure I will be seeing them again. I have an old house, with very old pipes.

When the drip in my shower turned into a steady stream, I knew it was time to get the thing fixed. I had received quotes twice before, both were around $800 and included tearing into a wall that happens to have a large mirror glued to it. Master Blaster was the first company I spoke with who offered to actually REPAIR the system rather than just tear in and replace everything. As it turned out, it was a simple repair that the plumber was able to do by going in through the handle, saving my wall, my mirror, and saving me about $500 in the process. I have found my plumber. Basement apartment had been re-modeled some years ago by the prior owner, and a lot of mistakes were made in a number of areas. Our first indication of this problem was when the subfloor under the toilet rotted out, and it fell down. This was because of chronic leaking over several years. Master Blaster came out immediately, gave an estimate, and did the work in a 4-day window while the tenant was gone. This work included rebuilding the subfloor, re-tiling, and re-installing the toilet. The work was comressed with night and evening visits to attend to the grouting operations, and in this way, the entire job was finished in a very short period of time. Work was high quality as always.
Description of Work: The toilet in our basement apartment, fell through a rotting subfloor because of some chronic leaking. Master blaster rebuilt the subfloor, re-tiled, and re-installed toilet. They responded extremely quickly, delivered on time and on budget, and produced a high-quality result in a short window of time while tenant was awa.

The recent flashflooding episodes in Denver have caused my basement apartment to flood a couple times, because of poor drainage and poor guttering/downspout placement. Master Blaster saved another disastrous flood by arriving in the nick of time to sandbag the window wells---within 30 minutes of placement they were holding back 8 inches of water from a flash flood. They also provided plastic tubing to drain the water away from the critical areas, and once these were installed the next day, the flooding problem went away. Their quick action prevented worse damage and displacement in my house.

Great experience overall. I am not an expert on the value of plumbing services and so I can't fairly rate the price, but it seemed fair if not an outrageously good deal.
Description of Work: I had ongoing issues with the pipes in my townhouse backing up; in the sink, in the commode, in the shower, the dishwasher and the laundry. Master Blaster responded very promptly and were very accommodating. They used a camera snake to find the problem which was tree roots blocking the sewage. They did excavation, clearance and replacement work. I haven't had any issues since and am very happy with their work.

After having various plumbers give me an estimate on replacing part of my sewer line in the backyard, Master Blaster came almost under half of what other companies were charging. After replacing the line in the backyard, it was discovered that the line under my garage was completely disintegrated. They were able to pipe burst underneath the garage without having to rip up the floors. While expensive, the total sewer line replacement was still the same price, if not cheaper in some cases, then what other companies quoted me for replacing just a small section. My fence was even in better condition when they replaced it. All in all they were great and extremely professional. I will recommend them to everyone.

Our basement toilet was overflowing when flushed. After plunging and plunging, we discovered that continuing to plunge was only forcing the sewage water to come up through the pipes under the basement floor, which then flooded our basement. What a nightmare. We decided to try Master Blaster because of the number of positive reviews on Angie's List. They knew immediately from our description what was causing this. They told us that the main sewer pipe was stopped up, and that it needed to be cleaned out. Manny and Greg came over within hours and did their plumbing magic. Problem solved! These guys were absolutely thorough, patiently answered all of our questions, and were a pleasure to deal with from start to finish. All communication was perfect and inspired (well-deserved) confidence - including with Sylvia the office manager and scheduler. As the owner of my own service business, I know when someone goes above and beyond, and when they don't. Master Blaster went way above and beyond at every level. THANK YOU!

The owner Ross was great, as well as the plumber Manny who cleaned my sewer line. Very professional and honest people.
Description of Work: I was told by another plumber that my rental unit would need to be torn up and the backyard excavated to replaced a collapsed sewer line. I called Master Blaster to get a second opinion. They came out just a couple hours after calling to dry to clean out the sewer line first. They found that it was just clogged, was able to clean it out thoroughly, and I've had no problems! Master Blaster saved me $5000 of unnecessary work. I can't recommend them enough!

This job was coordinated with a driveway replacement project by System Pavers, who removed the old poured concrete driveway that overlaid most of the new sewer line reroute the day before. Trevor was great to work with, and his team worked well together in a really professional manner. The new sewer route crossed our water service line in two places, and I was amazed that they were able to use the backhoe to tunnel under that line without disturbing it and interrupting our water service! They completed the new sewer installation and compacted the backfill so that System Pavers could get to work on the new driveway the next morning. I picked Master Blaster primarily based on excellent, and, as it turned out, well deserved scores and reports from Angie's List, and won't bother to look elsewhere the next time I need sewer work done (although I doubt that will be needed for a long time!)
Description of Work: Excavated a new route for main sewer from house foundation all the way to the sewer main in the street, routing around a mature spruce tree that was located directly over the original vitreous sewer line which had developed a "belly" that required bagging out once or twice a year. Installed 85 ft of 4" Sch 40 PVC sewer and two bidirectional exterior cleanouts. Backfilled with road bed, soft concrete and soil, compacting every 3 ft of depth. All this was completed in just a single day. Replaced sidewalk block and street paving the next day.

He explained everything and took the time to fix the problem. It was suggested that we have the system scooped since we didn't do it when we bought the house.
