+ -1 moreAlthough the work itself was fine, the issue came when the contractor presented the bill (broken down simply as parts and labor) when I asked to see the receipt for the parts. The contractor hesitated. I explained that I understand there's a markup and have no issue with that (oddly, the contractor was unable to tell me what it was, although he must have used the calculation to figure the parts price on my bill). I said I really just wanted to see it. He went back to his truck and was there quite a while. When he finally returned he explained that there was a wrench he had purchased at the time and forgot to deduct it from the receipt before adding it to my bill. He then re-figured my parts charge, which ended up in a $40 difference (less) to me (!) The mannerism and attitude made me believe this was an intentional 'mistake.' The company had excellent reviews on Angie's list and I thought it must not be indicative of how they conduct business. I called the company and asked to speak with management. They were immediately concerned. They assured me they would look into it and get back to me. A few days later the president of Master Blaster, Ross Whitesel, personally called me. He said they immediately conducted an audit and that this is the only instance of it they found. He apologized profusely, said he greatly appreciated my alerting them to this, and then wrote me a check to reimburse me for ALL parts paid for the job. He said he had a call in to the contractor and that they would be handling it appropriately on their end. Had the company responded in a different manner, I would recommend never to use them again. However, I found their response acceptable and trust that my experience is not the company practice. My advice: If parts are purchased as part of your job, DO ask to see the receipt so you understand how it was derived. Also, should have have such a negative experience as I did, DO let the company management know and give them an opportunity to respond.
Description of Work: The on/off valves of the washing machine started leaking badly and needed to be replaced. I call Master Blaster and they were able to send someone out promptly. The contractor arrived on time. We discussed options for the work. He had to go get parts, returned, and then completed the work satisfactorily. HOWEVER, there was an issue regarding the bill (see 'overall') comments which is why I provided the B ratings that I did - I would have rated them a D, but the management responded very appropriately to my concern.

+ -1 moreI first contact them for an estimate to install a gas line from my existing line to where I was putting my new gas grill. Their man Showed up and gave me an estimate which was double the estimate of a different gas line install guy from Angie's List. Obviously We went with the other company. The second time I called them was to swap out an existing toilet for another toilet we had purchased. Again their estimate was more Than double the other company at $400 versus less than $200.
Description of Work: I did not have any work done. Two different estimates I had purchased a deal for $19 service call so I tried them twice but they were not competitive and I got a refund on the coupon. Details of estimates below

+ -1 moreGreat. We had water leaking in the basement. Called them to figure out what the issue was. Turns out a rag was flushed by cleaning ladies and clogged our pipe. Fixed the problem and was upfront with expected costs.

+ 0 moreWhile there might have been additional issues with our plumbing I feel convinced that this was the classic scam to keep adding things onto a simple fix. Even when the supervisor came to check on things he pulled his guy out and seemed irritated with him for saying we needed a bucket load of more repairs. Very disappointed.

He even saw some other issues that I didn't notice and took the extra steps to fix them. I was very happy with Joe and will continue to call on him when I have plumbing issues.

Description of Work: Replaced a pipe outside that was connected to sprinkler system. That work was done well. The problem with this plumber is that he told us we needed another thing fixed and quoted about $600.00. We got a second opinion from another plumber we found on your list and he told us the part that this plumber told us we needed fixed was in excellent condition and did not need to be fixed.

+ 0 moreWow, great service. I called and the person was bright and cheerful and answered my questions. They are inexpensive, professional. They arrived on time, worked fast, did a good job. I waited a couple of weeks to review the service just to be sure my drain still works. It does!! We are placing our old house up for sale in the spring that we have been renting and if there is any need for a plumber, I will call them. I would definitely use them again.

It was Saturday and after trying the tips, I still needed someone to come out. They scheduled a person to come out that was in the area within the hour and he was there on time. He gave me more options and let me decide what I wanted to do. He gave me the pros and cons and costs of each option and helped me make the right decision. I was expecting dinner guests and he unplugged my garbage disposal in enough time for me to finish cooking and he even cleaned under the sink when he was finished! The price I paid was lower than the quote they gave me. I am very happy with this service. Thanks Tyler!

+ 0 moreThey came out the same day, and looked into it. The first service member told us what he thought it was and let us know that they would be back out on Tuesday. They called this morning to confirm the appointment, showed up right on time, and gave a second estimate. This estimate was less than the original. The work was done cleanly, and quickly, for half the price we were originally told. This is because part of the original quoted work wasn't necessary, as we already had an access point they thought would need to be installed. This was the easiest plumbing experience we have had and would highly recommend Master Blaster Plumbing and Drain to any and everyone.
Description of Work: A week ago, we called them out because our washing macine discharge was backing up.

+ 0 moreWe did not use Master Blaster Plumbing. As they were overpriced, wanted us to wait more than 24 hours to have the repair done after the estimate and planned on doing the job the "hard way". We did not want to be without plumbing for that long - bathroom, no showers, no water usage ---- no way. We found another company that came out within the hour, repaired the problem promptly and was half the cost. And yes, the other company did an excellent job and the problem has remained resolved since the repair.,

+ 0 moreIt went well. They did what they said they were going to do. They had an excellent price for the drain & line cleaning but the price was pretty steep to replace the drain. The work they did on the drain absolutely needed to be done though. The only thing that was disappointing was that they told me, after they did the work, that the next thing they'd do was come back out to inspect to see if there were any other breaks further down the line & I didn't hear from them again.
Description of Work: They cleared the drain & did a line inspection to find the problem. They then replaced part of the master drain line.

+ -1 moreThe technician did exactly what I ask (install shutoff valve and a pressure valve) in the house's main line. He was very professional and he was careful and clean in his work. However, I thought that considering the limited parts (two valves and a piece of copper pipe) and time (2 hours) that the price was a little high, but I have no complaints about the service. It has functioned fine since installation and I expect no problems.
Description of Work: Install shut off valve and pressure reducing valve in house mainline.

The technician took the time to talk me through what he was doing during the job. When done, he tested to ensure the job was completed as described. Everything was awesome! This is the kind of company i want to continue to do business with.
Description of Work: There's a ton of plumber in the Denver Metro Area. Dealing with a back up toilet, shower (basement) and basement sewer drain, I need to find a reliable plumber that was punctual (I had to leave my office to meet him at home), cost effective and fully solve the issue. I went to Angie's List, searched on the service provider with a solid history of favorable reviews and an A grade overall. I chose Master Blaster. I called early today (Monday after Thanksgiving) and made an appointment for later in the day. The agent, Greg, was nice to talk to and did a good job of explaining how to use their coupons and what to expect of the service call. My appt was set for 4-6 pm. I left my office for the day just before noon; i decided to just have lunch at home and work until the service technician arrive for my service call. Once I got home, Greg left a message in my voicemail to let me know that their technician could arrive earlier than my scheduled time and if i was interested. Booyah! I called back and told them I was available immediately and to send the technician over soonest. The technician arrived and introduced himself as Joe and we proceeded to the basement. He took the time to really understand the plumping issues i was having and made me comfortable by explaining to me how he was going to fix the problem, how long it would take and most importantly, the pricing. This was awesome! I now knew what to expect from him and the company he represents; all good. The job was completed in the time he quoted and he took the time to keep me updated throughout the visit. I now know a little bit about the plumbing in my house, which is cool. My toilet was running as it should now, as was the shower drain and no over flowing of the basement sewer drain. We chatted some more to talk about the root cause and mutually agreed to have one of his colleagues to put a camera in the line just to see and confirm the condition of my sewer line to the city. Joe called his office and make the arrangements for a next day appointment with his colleague. LIke most of you, I tread having to go through the process of finding and hiring of home service contractors that will provide top level service at a reasonable cost and basically not rip you off! Angie's List made it easy to find Master Blaster and I was very happy for the service they delivered. Great customer service, a friendly and knowledable service technician who delivered great service and didn't make a mess. Really, he was a very nice guy who enjoyed his job and made it a point to be sure i understood what he was doing. You really can't ask for more than my experience today. I will use and recommend this company to my friends and use them again for any of my plumbing needs.

+ 0 moreThe date above is incorrect as I don't remember when they came but they took my $29 to provide an estimate. Terrible! and not at all what I thought what I was getting. This was my 2nd Angie's List experience and now that I have done 3 they are all pretty much the same and I wouldn't recommend Angie's list to anyone anymore.
Description of Work: He came and looked at my drain and said that for almost $200 he would snake it. That was about it.

+ 0 moreOur water heater had a major leak 2 days before Thanksgiving (!!). Two servicemen came out within 2 hours of my call, explained what was wrong with the water heater and explained what their service would provide. They installed our new water heater that day; there was a complication, but they fixed the issue the next day and provided excellent customer service. They are slightly more expensive than other companies, but it is well worth the quality of work, piece of mind and warranty they provide.

Jeremy was another exceptional plumber, who really went over and above what I could have expected. I highly recommend Master Blaster. They not only do the work, but they educate me about the workings of my house. They have been quick to respond and accomodating to my schedule. The best.
Description of Work: A plumbing repair was a condition of the sale of my house. Jeremy spent a lot of time trying to figure out the basis of the repair and determined that the pipe that needed repair was not plumbing and was not necessary. He went over and above to determine the purpose of the pipe so that I could satisfy my buyer's concerns. He was punctual, professional and very nice to work with. I really feel that he went all out to help

+ -1 moreThe estimated cost ($800) for the work to be performed was outrageously expensive. We ended up getting another company to do the same work for half the cost. The plumber insisted that they had none of the parts needed & part of the cost was going to the supply house to buy parts. They scheduled us immediately the next day, in the time period we requested, but when they called to say they were on their way & were 10 minutes out, they didn't arrive for another 30 minutes. The plumber was very polite and professional when doing the estimate, they were just too expensive.

+ -1 moreI had 2 outside faucets replaced. One had to have a new pipe run inside to the basement requiring making a hole in the basement ceiling. He also replaced a shut-off valve under the sink. The work took about 3 and a half hours. I considered the work just fine, but I thought the cost excessive. It is true I did not get any other estimates, and maybe this is the going rate, but I was only considering paying about half that amount, with the Angie's free service call offer.
Description of Work: Replaced 2 outside faucets and one shut off valve under kitchen sink.

+ -1 moreServices were performed the same day. From the office staff to the plumber who cleaned the drain, all involved were very professional. The appointment was set for 2:00 pm and when the job before us was longer than anticipated, the office staff called to say he would be an hour late. The plumber then arrived promptly at 3:00. My husband was home that day, so he was thankful not to be performing the task. The results were a clear drain. Also, the plumber suggested there might be a pipe that has been compromised and that we should pursue having a company that uses a video camera in the pipe to verify where the problem is located. We were thankful for this information because only a pro could have understood why we have had problems with this pipe for at least 2 years .
