Master Blaster Plumbing & Drain LLC

Master Blaster sent two men to inspect our sewer line. They discovered that we will need to replace part of the line due to cracks and some misalignment in the current pipe. The best solution would be a Pipe Burst (which we had never heard of). We decided to have an independent sewer inspector drop a camera down the pipe and he agreed with Master Blaster. So now we are getting our yard and home ready for the Pipe Burst next week. We decided to have Peter at Master Blaster do the work after getting another estimate from another Angie's list company. Master Blaster even sent a second man out to our home to explain the process and how much it will damage our landscaping and basement floor. I'll add more later when they finish, but for now, I'm happy with the advice given and very pleased that they took extra time to address all of our concerns.

It was good! They were really nice and they did a good job. They came out and take a look at my toilet because I was concern that they were using a lot of water and they kinda gave me a low cost option rather than ending up a big bill.

However, as I thought about it, the house has probably had the same water pressure forever (it is a very old house). I have owned it for 16 years and have never had a problem except for the sprinklers. So, I contacted another sprinkler guy, Dave, at Apex sprinkler, who was able to fix all the problems by changing out the heads for less than $200. In addition, Dave told me that each zone should be either all fixed heads or all rotator heads, which I had also read. So, he switched out heads so that all heads were the same in each zone, which allowed me to better set the length of time for the zone to be on.

Manny was very processional, courteous and efficient. He showed up on time and did an thorough job cleaning my drain.

It all went great - Joe explained every detail he was going to do and why and as he encountered "problems" (like my toilet is at least 25 years old & certain parts are problematic to find) he explained those & what our options were as well as best case & worst case scenarios. But all went fine.

Called on Labor Day due to leak at main and wanted to repair leaking tub faucet. Answered phone right away even though it was a holiday, got Manny out within a few hours and Manny quickly fixed the leaking main and told us how to fix the leaking faucet ourselves.....all for free! No service call charge. Manny was a pleasure to work with and very knowledgeable. Working with plumbers has always scared me because I am wary of the expense, but he was not here to sell me what I didn't need. Manny provided true service.

Plumber repaired the pipe, then when the water was turned on, discovered that a component (don't remember what it is called) had also suffered damage from freezing and needed to be replaced. He showed me where the damage was and let me know that he did not carry that part, but I could obtain the part on my own which would be less expensive than having them go out and purchase it, then have him come back at another time to finish the work. He wrote down exactly what I needed to purchase to make sure that I got the correct size. At this time, I have not had the work completed, but intend to in the near future. The person that I made the appointment with and the plumber were both very personable and professional. I highly recommend this company and will do business with them in the future.

Correctly diagnosed and solved the low water pressure problem. Previous installer was at fault. I was very pleased with the work. Previous contractor had repeatedly looked into the problem and blamed the house for their failure.

Scheduled for Friday, they called Wed that they had a cancellation and could come Thursday. I couldn't make the change but really appreciate that they called to offer. Day of appt they called to say they'd be there in about an hour, and they were. Fixed the drain in about 20 minutes. Explained 30 day guarantee, provided reciept and left.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service and it worked out well. They came out soon after we purchased the Big Deal. They were punctual and really went above and beyond because they had to replace several things throughout the day. They had to go to the store to get parts several times and then come back and continue working. They stayed late to do it so I thought they really went above and beyond.

We had purchased a big deal for the service. He didn't want to do the scope at first, because I wasn't the type of customer he was looking for, with his offer. He wanted to find somebody with something wrong in their plumbing, so he could fix it. I have multiple houses, and I asked him why he couldn't do it, when I had already purchased the big deal. He went ahead and did it, but he wasn't nice and pleasant. I told him that I was looking for someone who can do these for me regularly, and he said he wasn't the person for me, he wanted to charge 150 Dollars for the service. I was looking for someone who can give me a discount for doing so many houses. The price of the big deal was good.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that we purchased. They did a really good job. They came out the next day. It was kind of an emergency situation. We thought it was more serious but it turned out to be something pretty tame. It was pretty reasonable. They were prompt and didn't try to sell us anything extra. They told us how to avoid it in the future.

Marty was great. He fixed a leak in the irrigation system, fixed one sprinkler head that wasn't working, and then was going to replace another, but needed to leave to go get a part. I was afraid it would eat up a lot of our one-hour slot, but Marty was very prompt in returning, and even gave us a recommendation on what could wait until another deal comes up, rather than trying to get us to pay the full cost of him staying another hour.

The service person came. Very nice, professional and knowledgable. We had already located one of the breaks in our system and he quickly located a 2nd break near the first break. He then noted that he had not brought the correct size of connector to fix the breaks and left to go get them He was gone for over an hour so by the time he completed his trip to go get the connector and then fixed the breaks (which didn't take him very long), he had exceeded the hour for the $55. He told us that we wouldn't be charged for that hour and he called the office to make sure. The office would not back away and we were charged for the entire time that exceeded the hour (including the time he was gone getting the part) plus I had already paid the $55. Our little $55 hourly job ended up costing us $239.65 and we didn't even have him look at putting in 3 new sprinkler heads or replacing the two broken heads. The service from the person who came was exceptional but his back office didn't support him. There was no negotiating or discussion or phone call to us from his back office...it just was what it was. Not anyone I want to do business with in the future and we would never recommend them. The service we received we're pleased with but it was the lack of integrity of whomever was making the time payment decisions that upset us. We're more than happy to pay for the service we receive but this was not a good first time introduction of this company to us. Come Fall we will be looking for a company to service our sprinkler system but it will not be Master Blaster.

All went will and they cleaned up all areas where they worked. I will schedule to get the pipe repaired. The two techs did a awesome job! As far as price I feel it was fair. I had 2 drains snaked and a camera used to detect the leak. I have already told my neighbors and family and friends of what a GREAT company I dealt with and would recommend and use them again!

Very good. They were good on price, work, and very professional. They replaced the sod and took away the green waste.

I thought the circulating pump was out and they came in to change it for $195 for the part plus the labor which was over $600. This did not fix the problem. It turns out the pump that they took probably didn't have anything wrong with it, but they took the pump so I cannot prove that. They said that the problem was fixed, but it was not. I hired another plumber to look at it and it cost $135 and all he did was lubricate the valve and it was fixed after that. I have tried to get in touch with Master Blaster, faxed them both copies of the invoices, and a disbatcher told me that they would not edit the bill and was going to submit it as is. I even requested to speak to the owner who I have yet to hear from.

After two bad experiences with this company in less than 24 hours I think other people should hear about it. I purchased the $55.00 deal since this company had great reviews to run a scope on a house I'm about to buy. They were very accommodating when I called to ask if they could do a specific day and time before I purchased the Angie's List deal and even had one of the plumbers, Todd call me directly to verify with his schedule. He was very friendly and nice. After setting up a time, I called back a few days later asking if we could move the appointment 1/2 hour back (still 3 days before scheduled appointment) which dispatch said wouldn't be a problem. The day of the scheduled appointment I waited with my realtor for over an hour and decided to call and see how much longer it would be since we needed to get out of the house so the owner could come back. Dispatch said the appointment had been canceled and had Todd call me directly again. He apologized profusely for the mistake and again was very kind. He said he would work with my schedule and come out whatever time would be convenient, so we set something up for the next day. At this point I was frustrated but understood that we're only human and mistakes happen. The next day another plumber, Peter showed up right on time. He was very nice as well...however he didn't have a ladder so he was going to have to send someone else out in order to get on the roof to scope through the vent. Luckily the homeowner let us use her ladder. Then, he asked my real estate agent's assistant to get up on the roof to run the scope since Peter had a broken foot. He also said if I wanted to have the scope go all the way to the public line I would have to take the toilet off myself and pay to have someone come out AGAIN and run it through there. At one point he said the scope wouldn't go any further, but the realtor kept telling her assistant to keep going and I'm so glad she did! They found a blocked area not too far after...which wouldn't have been discovered if we would have quit when he said so. I'm a first time home buyer and haven't been through the scope process before, so I probably would have trusted his opinion to stop when he said it wouldn't go further, then wouldn't have discovered the block in the sewer line. Again, Peter was very nice and I felt sorry for him for having to deal with this on a broken foot. However, considering they dropped the ball on my appointment yesterday, then sent a guy who wasn't fully equipped to get the job done, and then sent my realtor's assistant up on the roof to do the job all within less than 24 hours really grinds my gears. If it had been just the mess up with scheduling OR sending a guy who shouldn't have been sent I would have given them another chance and probably would have trusted them to do the repair. (an estimated $2,500) I'd rather have paid another company $100.00 to get the job done right the first time and not cause such a hassle for myself, the seller, my realtor, and her assistant (who should get the $55.00 since he did most of the work and risked getting on the roof!) than save a few bucks on a supposed deal. They also didn't do the whole house visual inspection that the deal says they would do. **Update 8/16/13** I had the video of the sewer line reviewed by another plumber recommended by my real estate agent who said the repair Master Blaster recommended wouldn't have fixed the problem. Since there's not a lot of fall in the ground, replacing the blocked area probably wouldn't have made a difference. To have a plumber turn down a job because he knows it wouldn't fix the problem makes me trust him even more. **Update 8/25/13** I've been in contact with the manager of the company who has been very easy to talk to and understanding and am happy with their customer service for what it's worth, but I still wouldn't use this company again.

Tech came on time. Was able to locate leak. As it turned out, the leak was a very minor issue to repair. Will use contractor again!

He worked as advertised and the whole the experience was fantastic. He was able to find the leak, access it, and repair it.
