Working with Kent was wonderful. We are planning to sell our house and needed a bunch of minor repairs to get it ready, except for my bathroom, which needed help. Kent listened to what I wanted, made suggestions that actually lowered my overall cost on materials and improved the outcome. He was flexible, adding plumbing work when I asked and finished early. My new bathroom is beautiful, and I know it will be an asset when we sell. Wish I could upload pictures just to brag. We plan on using Kent for any work we need when we buy a new home.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It was great. He was terrific. He was thorough and knowledgeable. He made some suggestions. I was very happy with it.

Kent is knowledgable.I told him what I wanted to do concerning 2 zones.I thought it best to cap off the valves.He said it would be cheaper,and as effective, to disconnect those zones from the control box.Told him I had an area that would not green up.He added another sprinkler.Solved the problem.He'll be back in the fall to winterize.The other company I had been using for 10 years(for winterization) cancelled two appts to give our system a tune-up. Homewurx will be our go to sprinkler system company now.

They were excellent. They were responsive. They did a good quality job in a timely fashion. They are very knowledgeable.

I originally had called to have a cracked manifold and a couple of broken heads replaced. After Kent replaced the manifold and the water turned on, a leak in the outside pipe became apparent. He was able to quickly replace the pipe and get the system up and working. While in the backyard showing him the broken heads that needed to be replaced, I expressed my concern for the awkward layout of the sprinkler heads in the back and lack of coverage in some areas. Initially we had discussed having to dig up the backyard to discover where all the lines were to be able to design something more efficient. However that would have cost close to $2000 and I was not in the position to do that. While replacing the broken heads, Kent thought of another option that he would be able to do during this service call and could potentially fix the coverage issue. He replaced a couple of other heads that would oscillate instead of just being pop ups. Just by doing that, the coverage issue is resolved and cost me much less time and money. Kent could have let it go and hoped I'd call back in a month or so for the $2000 job, but he didn't. He came up with a quick and simple fix that I greatly appreciated!! It is nice to know there are good people out there who aren't willing to take advantage of a home owner who has no knowledge of her sprinkler system and available options. Because of this I have already signed up to have Kent winterize my system this fall. I will definitely recommend Kent (Homewurx) to everyone!!

It was good. They're very professional, timely, very efficient, courteous. I was very satisfied. They have good price and good values.

The sprinkler work was done on one day and the fertilization and aeration was done a couple of days later. He was running late from another appointment, called well in advance to let me know he was running late. Was able to provide our services that same day.

I had called 2 weeks before they were able to come, but I felt very confident that they would do great work. When they did come, they were very nice. A young son came to help, which was wonderful for him to learn a great trade. They were very efficient in their work and checked each area I had asked them to check. I would definitely call them to do work for me again. The price for their work was very workable. Very nice gentlemen and very professional. I can't thank them enough for locating a larger leak inside my house. They were not able to fix that problem but they did locate it.

Homewurx came to my home at the promised time, listened attentively to my explanation of the work I wanted done, and performed a complete inspection of my lawn sprinkler system. He made adjustments and repairs on the spot, and the system is now just as I wanted it. Price was competitive and fair. Would definitely use again.

I've used Kent a few times and have been pleased with his service. His craftsmanship and professionalism were excellent. He was friendly, courteous and respected my home.

The most recent service was getting the system ready for spring. He opened up the lines, checked all of the sprinkler heads and drips, tested the zones, and told me that I had one damaged sprinkler head and two leaking drip-lines. He asked if I wanted him to fix them before he repaired them. The final invoice was around $110.00, which is more than reasonable. I highly recommend his work.

Kent cautioned me beforehand that multiple problems could be going on, but happily, the system was basically functioning well. One sprinkler head needed to be replaced, and a new interior controller had to be installed, but otherwise Kent was able to bring the system up and running fairly easily. He was very professional and informative and a pleasure to work with. Kent returned to my place this autumn to shut down the system for the winter and replace a head that I'd damaged when mowing my lawn.

Great. Kent not only did the job performed but gave me some helpful advice on other plumbing issues. I will definitely use him again in the future for both my sprinklers and other plumbing work.

Great work...it was a little more expensive than I though it should be

Kent Miller of Homewurx came on time prepared to do the job, and proceeded to do it. He had the tools and know-how needed and did an excellent job. It was not easy and took him quite a while, including a trip to the hardware store for necessary parts. The result is well done and looks nice. Kent is knowledgeable and pleasant to work with. He answered my questions and was willing to discuss alternatives to arrive at the best solutions for the problems.

Kent did a fabulous job of running the line through the crawl space (which couldn't have been easy) and venting it to the outside of the house. He was very professional and prompt and I greatly appreciate his quality service.

Kent came out as scheduled with his son. Did the work quickly. He also gave me a $ saving tip on a repair I could actually do myself. TIme will tell if the repairs hold up, but I'm betting they will. I plan to use him for winterizing this fall.

One of my bathrooms needed major help. It was dated to start with (1960s vintage), but was further ravaged by a messy teenager. Kent had done other work for me, so I asked what he thought about the bathroom. He gave me an estimate and we made an appointment for two weeks out. In the interim, I did some shopping and thinking, and by the time he arrived on the appointed day, I had a better idea of what I wanted. Kent is very knowledgeable and gave me the pros and cons of many of my ideas; he was also very flexible as I made my final decisions. Kent is more than able to do a full remodel - gutting and starting from scratch - but I wasn't able to go that far, so he was more than willing to scale the job to my needs. The walls had old ugly wallpaper in places and magazine pictures glued to them in other places. Underneath was bare drywall. Kent repaired and textured the walls before priming and painting them (as well as the ceiling), and they look brand new. He painted the vanity, which turned out to be a very cost-effective and surprisingly attractive alternative to replacing it. He also painted the built-in shelving. The floor was carpeted, and he replaced that with the flooring of my choice. He replaced the toilet, light fixtures, and vanity faucet. He also repaired the tub faucet and fixed a leaky shower, replaced the caulking around the tub and vanity, regrouted some of the tile, and did other miscellaneous repairs. Kent is very personable and professional. I should also mention that this bathroom is upstairs and has no air conditioning and no window. This has been a record hot summer, and Kent worked without complaining once about the heat. I love my new bathroom, and have enjoyed decorating it. I would use Kent for a major kitchen or bathroom remodel in a heartbeat.

Kent was prompt and friendly. I hadn't used the system for 2 years because many of the heads didn't work or were too old to be adjusted, several heads sprayed places that no longer have vegetation, and one zone didn't work at all. Kent replaced 6 heads and capped 5 others. He also dug out one of the valve boxes and replaced the parts necessary to fix the nonoperational zone. After he was finished with the repairs, he set the system to the optimum watering schedule. The job took about 5 hours.

Great Professional Performance and Personal Reliability

Kent was very professional and knowledgeable. I was told from another spinkler company the problem was a valve, but Kent quickly assessed the problem and found a broken sprinkler line underground. He repaired that line and went on to tell me why we have parts of our grass dying. In the end, our sprinkler system was in need of much work. Although we were sad it needed so much work, we are happy we had it done. Our grass is greener than it has ever been in the four years we have been here. Kent spent a great deal of time making sure every zone worked as it was supposed to. I would recommend Homewurx Inc. to anyone in need of lawn irrigation work.

I called and made an appointment. Kevin and his son came out, looked at the setup, gave me an approximate price and then fixed the problems. No issues since.

Not sure how to couch this review. I used Kent last year and he did good work (so yes I have worked with him before), but his bill at the end was considerably higher than I'd anticipated. Attempting to forestall a repeat, I had a conversation by telephone with him about pricing. He gave me pricing for particular projects that had a significant range. E.g. $300 to "$600. One project was checking for leaks in system, another was replacing the control box. I asked him if he'd be able to narrow down the range once he got to the house. Response: "no, I need to do the work first to see how difficult it is and how long it takes". I asked him if he had a set hourly rate he'd charge. Response: "No, I don't operate that way, if you want someone who works on an hourly rate basis, you need to hire someone else." I felt his response was a bit unprofessional and indicated he really wasn't all that interested in working for anyone who would want to either determine a fixed price up front, or at least some objective measure whereby the fixed price would be established later. His approach, based on this most recent conversation, and on a similar conversation I had with him last year, is "I will do the work and decide how much it was worth, and let you know -- if you don't like what I come up with, we'll have a conflict, and I won't work for you again". I find this approach very ill-fitted to his business, a bit presumptuous (no I don't need fiscal liability risks entering into an arrangement with my sprinkler repairman - thanks very much, but have plenty of sources for those risks elsewhere), and it certainly didn't work for my needs. I had referred him to another neighbor and rated him highly on AL after his work last year, but after this most recent conversation, I think I'll look elsewhere. He was also booked a week plus out and was somewhat difficult to contact.
