Skyline Construction & Remodeling

We took advantage of an Angie's list deal for 4-hrs of labor for $119. We purchased two of these to allow for a whole day. I believe this was approximately a 50% savings. The Skyline supervisor and worker showed up on time, reviewed the project, and then the supervisor left. Their worker (who's name escapes me) was very good and methodical in his work. By the end of the day he had removed the ceiling and gotten most of the first coat of painting done. I had to finish up with a second coat the following day separately. This is not a complaint at all; just that I had been optimistic about how much might get done in one day. I found the work done to be satisfactory. I had a separate plasterer that we use re-plaster the ceiling, otherwise I probably would have considered Skyline for that as well.

The worker was prompt, courteous and did a quick efficient job. No surprises.

Skyline was an "Angie's List - Big Deal" and I needed painting. That said, if one considers the fact that I had to add the price of the paint, and I wanted high quality low VOC paint, the project came closer to $600 which was not much of a deal at the end of the day (not Skyline's fault). But the reality is that two painters can only cover so much ground when you consider prepping, possible priming, etc., etc. So, these deals are most valid if you already have the paint (maybe leftover) and have a space that's ready to roll. Like, a second or new coat of the same color in a room or something. All's fair and they use the deal as an opportunity to pitch other work, but the quality and cost didn't impress me enough to use them again or for a bigger project.

The representative booking the work was prompt in returning calls to schedule a time for the job and the workman actually showed up about 15 minutes early. He removed the old grout around one tub and replaced it with silicone and also replaced the silicone below shower doors in two bathrooms, both of which had been leaking. He also showed me an easier way to clean/refresh our kitchen grout. He was thorough, efficient, and I would have him back to do more work in the future.

The quality of the work was very good, but the job went over by 30 minutes and the guy charged me an extra $25. Seemed a bit excessive to me. The work looked good though.

I called Skyline to book the appointments. They were incredibly responsive - I was able to book an appointment to do the work immediately. The crew showed up on time, were very professional and ready to work the moment they arrived. I showed each crew what needed to be done and they went straight to work. The grout around the kitchen sink was old, broken and stained. It was cleanly removed and resealed with caulk. Looks great. I had extensive plaster work done (cracks, peeling/patching/holes) in every room. The crew did a great job - got every crack/hole/spot - even accommodated the custom plaster work in the hallway - matching it almost perfectly. They finished ahead of schedule and cleaned up the work areas nicely when they were done.

Everything went okay, we had a minor issue with painting.

Great experience! I live in a condominium with strict rules and regs. Eric and/or his crew always arrived on time, and were careful to comply with condo rules while transforming my bathroom from dingy to beautiful. The crew laid down tarps to protect my floors and cleaned up at the end of each day. Any concerns I had were responded to promptly and Eric kept me informed of each step along the way, answering email or text within minutes. The tile work was especially superb. I am very happy with the result!

The tile had come loose around our sink and we say the ad for Skyline and bought it without knowing anything about grouting. We called and they set up a time that was close and convenient. We did have to provide the grout material and I wish they had explained a bit more about it. As typical urban dwellers who are not do it yourself types, I went out and got what I thought was the right thing. It was. They arrived on time and quickly went to work. The job was perfect and finished in under the time allotment. Polite and left the areas cleaned up. I will definitely use them again. I now know to ask for more detail if I'm hiring someone to do something I know nothing about. But I highly recommend.

The job went well and was completed in a short period of time.

My sister found them on Angie's List and they were offering the coupon deal so we decided to use them. They were prompt and did seem to know what they were doing.

We were VERY happy with the communication by the vendor in the scheduling process. As well, they called a few days before to confirm the schedule, and at our request, called us the day of the service to let us know exactly when to expect the employee. He arrived with 15 minutes of the expected time and worked for the entire period. He periodically checked in with us to make sure we were satisfied, was extremely courteous nature and performed quality work, as well as did a great job of cleaning up after the work was performed. A+!

The whole process went fine. We have absolutely no complaints. We are quite happy with the work performed by Skyline Construction & Remodeling.

did an adequate job. looks good. the drywaller even gave me the recommendation of what the texture was and where to find it. they used way less drywall than I had bought, which is why they did the job and not me! satisfied!

The worker Julio showed up at 8:45 am on Saturday. He patched a added entry wall into the kitchen and our service porch where we have our washer, and dryer. He did a excellent job, and was pleasant hard working. He cleaned up his mess when he was done. I was extremely happy with the drywall mud patching and now I will be able to paint next weekend. I rate Skyling construction with a A and would use them again for any big or small project. I am thinking about hiring them to re do my hard wood floors, Thank you Skyline construction I had to call them to schedule my job but that was actually refreshing because they did not try and sell me anything else! Thank you Skyline Construction. I would definitely recommend them.

Paid for 4 hrs but he didn't hVe the material for drywalling so one hour was wasted while he went to Home Depot to buy the materials. As a result the job was not completed in four hours.

The repairman worked quickly and did an excellent job. The walls looked as if they were never damaged.

Easy as could be. The worker was polite, professional and efficient.

OVERALL we were disappointed with the project management. MOSES over promised and under delivered consistently which made for a lot of waiting on our part and general discontent. The project took TWICE as long as advertised. There were many days of no work or only an inspection. Skyline will say the delay were due to problems in scheduling 4 different building inspectors which is only partially true. The scheduling of inspectors was not handled well. We might use them again, but with a different project manager. We were very happy with the quality of the workmanship and impressed with the workers themselves. Most of the finish work was by subcontractors including tile, plumbing and electrical. The finished bath look very nice! Here is a chronology of Events: Initial Visit - About a month before the work started the project manager MOSES met with us. He was very friendly and accommodating and pleasant. He explained what was covered under the coupon and that the Vanity area, new vent fan, and replacement window were extra and we signed an additional contract for $5175. We were going on a trip in 3 weeks; MOSES advised they would be finished with the job in THREE WEEKS, no problem. (It took SIX WEEKS to complete.) WORKDAYS (excluding weekends and holidays) 1st Day (Thursday) - They arrived on time as scheduled did a lot of work: demoed the bath, framed the shower pan and installed rough plumbing for the shower and drain. 2nd Day (Friday) - Hot mop subcontractor arrived 2 hours late to coat the shower pan with tar. 3rd Day (Monday) - Electrician (subcontractor) showed up without prior notice and installed the new ceiling vent fan. 4th Day - Visits by three different building inspectors to sign-off the rough-in work. Plumbing inspector could not sign off the shower pan as the drain plug was not provided and could not hold water for inspection. Day 5 - No work. Day 6- Termite damage repaired. Day 7 - Plumbing inspector signed-off shower pan (only 5 minutes work) Day 8 (Mon) - No work. Day 9 - Bathroom window replaced. Day 10 - No work. Day 11 - Demoed vanity cabinet and vanity wall. Installed new wallboard. Day 12 - Plumbers did rough-in work for vanity water supply lines. Day 13 (Mon) - No work. Day 14 - Finished vent fan exhaust. THREE WEEKS had passed since job start. No where near completion. We made our trip; no work for 6 days. Day 15 (Mon) - No work. Day 16 - Inspectors promised, no show, not scheduled! No work. Day 17 - Inspectors no show, not scheduled. No work. Day 18 - HVAC inspector signed off vent fan. No other work. Day 19 - Plumbing inspector signed-off rough work for vanity plumbing. Day 20 (Mon) - Building inspector signed off rough work for vanity wall board. Day 21 - Installed metal lath in shower area. Day 22 - Building inspector signed-off lath installation. Day 23 - Subcontract workers installed mortar coating on shower walls and floor. Requires 2 days drying time. Day 24 - No work. Day 25 (Mon) - Subcontractor tile workers set shower tile. Day 26 - Tile work continued, shower, bath and vanity area floor tile. Day 27 - Plumbers adjusted shower drain. No other work. Day 28 - Tile setting for shower, floor and vanity wall completed. Day 29 - Grouted all tile. Day 30 (Mon) - Patching drywall for paint prep. Plumber installed shower fixtures and set toilet. Day 31 - Painting. Plumbers hung vanity cabinet on wall, installed sink and faucet. Day 32 - Hung two bathroom doors. Day 33 - Plumbing inspector signed-off final plumbing. Trash haulers removed all demo trash from our garage which had been taking half the garage for 6 weeks. Day 34 (46 calendar days) - Building inspector signed off final for the remodel. JOB COMPLETE. For the glass shower door and panel we elected to NOT to use Skyline for this work because of our frustration in getting the project complete. Ordered door & panel for delivery in two weeks, $1335. Unfortunately the area that we wanted cleaned and sealed was in our shower and when the technician arrived he realized that there was a leak that caused the grout to fall out and the leak had to be repaired before the tile could be re-grouted and sealed. He actually pulled the tile off the wall so we couldn't use the shower until it got repaired. We asked for an estimate to do the repairs since it now became a huge priority and they told us they would get us an estimate ASAP. We then had them do the work on the area around our kitchen sink instead. Unfortunately, they did a horrible job. The new caulking they put around the kitchen sink cracked the following day and was done very sloppily. It looked awful. In addition, I never got the estimate that I requested to do the shower repair. I called repeatedly and never got a return phone call. It was bothersome to me that whenever I called I got what seemed to be an answering service, had to leave a message and never had a call returned. We eventually called a contractor that we had a prior relationship with and he repaired the leak and the shower. Dealing with Skyline was frustrating and has made me very wary of the big deals. I cannot recommend them. We are avid users of Angie's List and this is the first time we have had a bad experience.

They are FANTASTIC! I had previously had work done on my bathroom floor by someone else and it was a mess. When I called Skyline Construction they told me they would send someone out. Moses showed up Right on time. I showed him my bathroom floor that was a mess and asked if he could fix it and he told me he could. After talking to him I felt very comfortable with him. He explained what needed to be done and the extra projects he would have to do to make sure it was done correct this time. I asked him to give me a price on how much everything would cost to fix in my master bathroom and my hallway bathroom. As the project started they always showed up right on time. I am so pleased with this company. I paid for each part of the job after it was completed which I really loved it. My bathrooms now look amazing and I could not be happier!. I am now using them for my future projects. Moses is a contractor angel. I gave Moses a nickname... he is the best contractor angel cousin you will ever find! Thank you Skyline!

I needed grout cleaning in the master bath and am very pleased with the work performed. The person who arrived from Skyline was very pleasant and gave me some tips on how to maintain the grout.
