Julio arrived on time and was very professional. He completed the caulking, re-grouting and grout cleaning that I requested and it looks good. I could have bought a grout color that matched better, but Julio made the best of it and it is fine. There wasn't time to clean the grout in the floor tile but he recommended a product that I could buy and use myself. I appreciated his recommendation. However, after purchasing the product I read the instructions and found it was a highly toxic acid based solution and it had instructions to wear chemically proctective gloves, goggles, long sleave shirt and long pants, and to make sure the room was ventilated. I found this highly inappropriate to recommend this to anyone let alone a woman like myself. I returned the product.

The caulking turned out fine. The grout restoration was disappointing. Some of the patches on the cracks did not hold up. It seemed more like a patch job instead of a restoration because I wanted to restore grout in the tile in the bathroom and kitchen. I talked to the company that the tech forgot a section and he said it was outside of the big deal 3 hours and he agreed to charge $30 to come back. But I have not heard from them.

The job went fine. The wooden floor made a huge difference in the appearance, as did the granite counter tops and custom cabinets. Everything matched perfectly. The counter was even brought out a little giving us a bit more kitchen space. I bought the appliances separately, and Eric's workers installed them without a hitch. We would highly recommend this construction and remodeling company.

I had a 1:00 p.m. appointment, but Julio from Skyline showed up an hour early which was fine with me. I had called the day before to ask about the materials I needed to purchase, and the person I spoke to at Skyline responded that I needed tape and plaster. However, Julio told me had has his own plaster and I only needed to supply the tape. He worked diligently for 2 hours to finish the job, and he did a very good job. I particularly liked that he used plastic to cover and protect nearby items.

We live in an 80 year old duplex in Los Angeles, and even though most everything has been updated over time, things still happen. We had an emergency plumbing repair done in the kitchen and laundry room that left the walls torn open, lath damaged. Our repairman, using our dry materials, completed the kitchen repairs completely, and very efficiently. No language barrier. Clean up was exceptional. Unfortunately, the kitchen took longer than planned (based on the special) so the laundry room wall could not be dealt with. We do, however, plan on using their services again at a later date to complete the repairs needed in the laundry room. This experience was a smooth one, compared to other repair services we've used in the past. We would highly recommend them.

Great-serviceman came in and did his work independently and professionally.

Workmanship was good, however installer left shower door open (for drying presumably) and when i closed the shower door I noticed he had not re-caulked the edge behind the door. He also did not re-caulk around the soap dish in the shower, but he did in the tub bathroom. So we had to call, make another appointment, and have them come out and finish the work. Disappointed in work not finished the first time. The work they did was good quality.

This company has very good ideas to help you get started. The various workers were highly skilled, on time and very neat. I was told to expect it to take 2 to 3 weeks and though I added additional work, it was equivalent to only 3 days more. The job began on November 7,2012 and ended December 21,2012 with a couple of touch-ups remaining. My only complaint was the amount of time it took and the times I was tied up waiting for someone. The end result was a beautiful job.

Eric is very nice and personable. He made me feel very confident about his work and his company's (Skyline Construction) ability. The price almost doubled due to work required outside of the big deal which was very surprising to me, but I had already paid $4,749 so I had to proceed. The subcontractors were on time, friendly and left my house very clean at the end of each day. Eric was polite, but offered me little help with the details of the bathroom requiring me to do much of my own work sourcing tile, fixtures, etc. I expalianed I was a novice and asked for assistance, but it was difficult getting suggestions and I had to take three different mirrors back due to size alone. Eric was not readily available at my home or by phone only communicating via email. This made things tough. Especially when he was not reachable or was unable to respond for multiple days at a time. The shower enclosure ended up being NOT included and I had to deal with that on my own after the project was finished. This was also a big surprise as Eric and I had discussed an enclosure several times before the project started and he mentioned I would have $400 toward this, what he failed to mention is the shower enclosure I was envisioning was going to be around $1,200 installed. Eric was always honest, but led me to believe the $400 would be enough for the enclosure. AI feel that Eric left out many of the details a novice would need to be advised on which ultimately drove the cost up. No options were ever suggested like if you do this it will run you this or try this as a mid-range option. Skyline Construction did a fine job and my bathroom looks wonderful, but I was not prepared to pay over double the cost. Eric should be more clear to a novice as to what they should expect price wise. Due to his being unavailable there was no guidance at all. I would use a contractor who was present and there to help or offer suggestions. This didn't happen with Skyline.

They were fine. I am happy with the work that they did.

The worker who came out was very professional and did a good job, working hard the entire three hours he was here. I originally gave a B because they advertised it as including re-grouting so long as the customer bought the grout. Fair enough, but I would have assumed that after adding new grout, they would have also applied a sealer so that the three hour job would be preserved. But no sealer was provided, which was not the worker's fault. Update: After I was informed that the grout takes 24 hours to dry before you can apply the sealant, I upgraded my review to an A. I think the problem was with the ad, not the work performed. the ad should be more clear that it includes grout, but no sealant.

They arrived on time and did the work well

We used an Angieslist coupon for a couple of hours caulking for a fixed price. Worker came on time, completed my top two priorities, work was done well.

Miguel and the other painter arrived early. They started to work immediately - were very careful and clean. They did a wonderful job. I would use them again in a heartbeat. I can't say enough great things about the two of them. When they were done, they cleaned up - you would ever know they had been here except the walls and ceiling were fantastic.

This is the second time I've used Skyline Construction recently and I've been happy both times. We had a bunch of earthquake wall cracks in our home but we're not ready to start painting yet. The Skyline workman came on time and was able to patch all of the cracks we wanted fixed in the 4 hours he was here. He did an excellent job -- the areas are very smooth and ready for paint. We were pleasantly surprised because we weren't expecting him to be able to complete so many patches. Thank you Skyline!

Made an appointment on Tuesday for Saturday at 9:30am. At 9:50am I called the company to find out what was going on. I did receive great customer service by the receptionist. The owner rescheduled for the next day and promised an extra hour of work. the worker showed about 15 mins late the next day. He was courteous and professional. Did a great job. The work didn't require the extra hour promised.

Having the plaster in several rooms of our home affected by a leaking roof, when we were certain the roof had been repaired properly, we purchased two Angie's Big Deal Plaster Repair coupons. We phoned Eric Saida of Skyline Construction & Remodeling, who sent Julio, one of his best men, to repair our dimpled plaster. I showed Julio all the places to be repaired, and he set about protecting the floors with plastic sheeting, and hanging it in a doorway to keep the fine dust from covering surfaces in other rooms. By the end of the day Julio had scraped all the loose plaster and filled each concavity with three coats of patching material, which, when it had dried, he sanded. The following week he returned to finish the sanding and to repair the grout and caulking in our bathrooms (the other Angie's Big Deal coupon we purchased). Throughout the process, Julio was pleased to answer questions about his project and was proud to take me to each area to show his good work and to have my approval. His work exhibits attention to detail and the skill of long experience. Before Julio left, he cleaned the plaster dust and removed the plastic sheeting, leaving all the areas he worked in like new. Eric Saida, Julio's boss, was very accommodating when discussing the work to be performed and Julio's schedule. These two Angie's List Big Deals were exactly that. We couldn't be happier!

i purchased the deal from Angie's List because I have been fighting with the grout in my master shower, and not winning. When they came out, they told me that the deal was for floors only, not showers or tiled walls. That was a bummer, but I was very happy with my decision to have them clean the tile floors in my kitchen and two other bathrooms. It was amazing. The white grout and tile was perfect. I do not think it looked that good when it was installed. These guys are good and they know what they are doing. They even looked at my shower and tested some cleaning methods for free. They showed me that I have a bigger problem with moisture behind the tile, and that just cleaning the surface will not work. They spent a lot of time, and they sympathized with me for the bad news. I would hire these guys again in a heartbeat.

My wife and I had a general idea of what we were looking for but needed direction on some aspects of the design. Eric took our concept and helped us improve it through several iterations using his draftman, who created CAD diagrams which helped us visualize the design. We were responsible for selecting and purchasing the tile, countertop, bathtub, sink, toilet, valves, trims, fixtures, mirror, and paint colors. All other construction materials were purchased by Skyline and covered by my contract. Eric reviewed my selections before I purchased them to make sure I was buying things that would work. This being our first major remodel, my wife and I had to quickly learn many things about making these purchases. In a few cases (the countertop and door), I made the purchase but they picked it up for me because I didn't have a way to transport large and/or heavy items. Eric was incredibly responsive. Contacting him through his office front desk was a little bureaucratic, but I quickly learned that by contacting him directly through EMail, Eric generally responded within an hour, and often within minutes. In some cases I sent him an EMail late at night and he still responded quickly! Skyline appears to use a combination of their own staff, and subcontractors for each specialty. The vast majority of the time, I knew who would be coming and when, and I am pleased with the scheduling. After the demo, it was discovered that my existing plumbing was substandard and wouldn't pass code. Additional work and cost was required to bring it up to today's standard. Unfortunately this is one of those things that can't be anticipated until you open the walls up, but on an older home there is probably a good chance this will happen. The quality of the work was excellent. I was pleasantly surprised to see them build a cement wall for the shower tile instead of using hardibacker. The tile installation was better than expected. Our bathtub was bowed out and I was concerned about how they would tile around that, but these guys are experts and the tile was perfect. They also built a recessed shelving area in the bathtub, and all exposed edges of the tile were rounded. I did need to return to the tile store twice to get additional tile, although I take responsibility for the first time because I had not let them know I wanted it installed diagonally which uses more material. The exposed parts of custom vanity were constructed of maple (not MDF) and had auto closing drawers. The new plumbing was cleanly installed. These guys know what they are doing. They painted the ceiling, but I ended up doing the wall paint on my own. They were willing to do a standard or faux (sponged) paint, but I wanted a simulated venetian plaster look that was outside the finishers expertise (mine too lol, but I learned how to do it). As with any project of this size, Eric always worked with us if we wanted to make small design changes or address minor concerns, even when it meant having someone come back out to touch something up. He visited my house several times throughout the project to monitor the status. All of the contractors took precautions to keep the work area and walkways as clean as possible and always cleaned up after themselves. I am a very detailed orientated person who had high expectations. I am currently designing a larger and more complex remodel with them for my master bathroom. When comparing quotes between unknown contractors, it's difficult to know whether you are going to receive an appropriate amount of value and service for the cost, but in the case of Skyline Construction, I did. As long as you are realistic and willing to be involved in the process, I highly recommend giving them a call.

Overall I am more disappointed that Angie's List would sell me a promotion from a contractor 80 miles from my home. I'll scrutinize "Big Deals" much more carefully in the future. It would be unfair to penalize the contractor for what I believe is Angie's failing.

Bought 2 four hour drywall repair coupons. Skyline called the day before to confirm. One guy showed up on time and stayed for the whole time. He was polite. Cleaned up his mess after he was done. I framed in a small space under the stairs the day before so it would be ready for drywall. He did a good job overall and I would hire them again.

The service tech came as expected and worked diligently to complete the re-grouting of two bathrooms. I originally rated this service as a B because the technician missed a couple of spots. I changed the rating to an A because to my surprise the contractor e-mailed me and wanted to understand my rating and what I wanted done. Didn't start off great as the tech was a bit late. He did show up though very professional and knew what he was doing. I was out and my wife didn't supervise super closely, but there were a few questionable areas that I wasn't really satisfied with. Although a tight space., he failed to do caulking behind the sinks in the bathroom and in the shower he went like 20% up the wall with new caulk and didn't do more bc he told my wife he didn't have time/could reach. It looks a bit bad as there is some new caulk and lots of old caulk wit hno transition. I would probably use them again, but feel that more communication along with a little more common sense by the tech would need to happen.

Skyline showed up on time (possibly even a little early). They called to confirm the appointment the day before. The work was done in half the time I needed and it was exactly what I needed. I would definitely purchase this deal on Angie's List again and have them come out for textured wall work. Great job!
