It went pretty well. The areas he did looked great but there were a couple of places he could have done too but didn't. All in all it looks fine.
Description of Work: I had a tub enclosure that needed the grout & caulking redone. We had just removed the glass shower doors & wanted to put in a shower curtain instead. The grout needed to be redone in a few areas & the caulking around the tub too.

Julio from Skyline Construction arrived promptly at the scheduled time for the plaster or drywall repair. He examined the ceiling area and determined the drywall was in good shape and only plaster repair was needed. He covered the floor and furniture before beginning and finished in about 3 hours. Julio disposed of all debris afterward. He also advised me of the additional services needed and the type of ceiling texture I need to purchase. I plan to contact Skyline for necessary sanding, priming, and panting of the ceiling. I am very pleased with the service I received.

No problems but grout may have been too dirty for a standard cleaning. Caulking work was very well done.
Description of Work: I purchased the grout cleaning and recaulking package for $79. The technician arrived on time and was easy to work with. Caulking came out great but the grout still had some staining. The grout was in real bad shape so not sure if they would have been able to improve the results with more time or more aggressive cleaning.

I have what I consider to be a very small bathroom. Small rectangular approx 7.5 by 5.5 feet with attached shower 3 x 3.5. there is a toilet, a malll sink/cabinet and a bathtub. I wanted to make a couple changes (remove tub and replace move and replace sink against a different wall. Get a new floor (preferable tile) and redo shower adding overhead light and better fixtures and retile. I saw the Big Deal and thought it would be perfect. Very excited about getting bath redone. So I ordered it. When I spoke to them they seemed very nice and we arranged for them to come and look at bathroom. When they came out they told me it was too large and would not be acceptable for their deal. They said they would not remove the tub as they did not do any remodeling and since some of the wall tile around the tile had come loose and needed to be repaired and replaced or retiled..they said that they only worked on bathrooms that were in good condition and not so run down as this one and although I asked them if there were any options to woork this out, they said no. They said they could redo the bathroom but not for this deal and it would be much more expensive. I would have thought the reason someone would want to redo a room is because it was perhaps run-down or needed a redo. Apparently not. I was very disappointed and felt the ad for the deal was misleading, and wondered who would have a bathroom small and nice enough for this deal. They had told me they got many more responses to the deal than expected and I suppose that allowed them to be picky about choosing the best or easiest or least expensive and time consuming ones. At least that's my best guess. In their favor, they did get me a refund of my payment in a timely manner.

hello member, in your review you are talking about a meeting we had with you on june 2012. you had called us for a bathroom remodel deal that we had at the time, and we came over promptly to discuss the options you have.when we got to your house, we realize that the work needed in your bathroom exceeds the Description of the deal you purchased in many ways, we than discussed the cost for the much bigger job you needed, but after reviewing it all with you, you indicated that you like our ideas but don't have the funds to do the work. you than asked for a refund for the deal, which we responded to very quickly. you thanked us for our time and cooperation. thank you and good luck.

I had to supply the grout. They simply applied a new layer on top of the existing grout. It's cleaner than it was before but looks somewhat sloppy. The gaps between the tiles wee already filled with the old grout so the new just went over it and onto the edges of the tile. The caulking was done well. I suppose you get what you pay for.
Description of Work: Grout restoration. Apparently this means simply applying a layer of new grout on top of the old. They also recaulked around the tub ad sink countertop.

I was pleased with their work and the quality. The only thing I was disappointed in was that they called a "day" 7 hours, and I was expecting 8 hours. So I really got two man hours less than I thought I would, for the price.
Description of Work: I used Skyline for painting only (2 guys, one day deal). They painted a high wall in my architectural condo, and a high wall over my stairwell, as well as down into the stairwell. These were tricky areas to reach, and I knew it would go slowly, but they worked pretty efficiently for what it was.

Eric came over to the house the day after we called him to give us an estimate which was very fair. We hired him on the spot and his team started work within the week. We were on a tight schedule as we had visitors coming for Thanksgiving and it was completed well before our deadline. Whenever we had a question, Eric responded immediately. Eric and his team are first class: they did all the plumbing, new windows, toilet, bath and shower installation, new floors, tiling, fan installation and painting and really guided us along in the project. They cleaned up every speck of debris at the end of each day. They were hard working, professional and responsible. They were always on time. We have no hesitation in recommending them with five stars. In fact, we just hired them to do more work for us. You can't go wrong with Eric and his team at Skyline. First Class!

They were 1 1/2 hours late arriving; however, when I called to ask if they were still coming, they were very responsive and gave me an updated time of arrival. Julio arrived and did a good job repairing the grout in a leaking shower. The Big Deal was for 3 hours work and he worked hard for 3 hours. The result was very satisfactory - it looks good and the leaking problem is solved. Overall it was a good experience. The company was responsive in the initial scheduling and the work was done well. The only problem was the late arrival.

When I called to schedule the appointment, I specifically stated they had to send the worker out with a 6 ft ladder since he would be dealing with 10 ft celings. They told me it would not be a problem. The worker who came out was only about 5 ft tall and brought a 5 ft ladder. I did nto feel comfortable with this being done so I canceled the project and asked for a refund.

The worker came very early and I almost missed him. He seemed annoyed by the fact that I was away from the house when he arrived. After he started work, Ron, the project manager dropped in to check on him and suggested that, since there was so little to do in the shower, he should fill in some grout linesaround the tub and sink, which he did. I knew when I placed the order that the job would not take the time allowed in the special order; but just wanted the shower grout done. I was pleased that Ron wanted me to get my money's worth,

I have changed my Overall Experience to a B. They did the work they were hired to do. I asked for a quote for additional work. As a Licensed Realtor, I return all calls and answer questions pertaining to my services. Follow up is very important in our business. Skyline called x2 and said they'd be in touch but never followed up. I wound up contacting Kyle Johnson of Johnson Brothers Tile and he immediately came out, took a look, repaired and did an amazing job. So, here's my recommendation: Johnson Brothers Tile: 818-566-8789.

They arrived at 730am. Came to my door at 745 and starting working at 8am. Did prep work, filling in holes and cracks and then sanding the walls. Very meticulous about painting and did an awesome job. They left at 415pm with job done. It was a pleasure to have them in my home. Highly recommend this company.
Description of Work: I had 2 painters for seven hours. they arrived 30 minutes early. Were very friendly and accommodating. I had them paint my daughter's bedroom and a bathroom. There prep work took time but it was so worth it. My bathroom ceiling never looked so good. They covered a earthquake crack and you can't even see it was there. I highly recommend them for anyone needing painting. I totally had the rooms cleared out and covers off of outlets so that they could get right to work

Skyline Construction was offering a coupon for a bathroom remodel for $4750 and we jumped at it. We have been waiting to remodel our bathroom for years but could never afford it. We have a handicapped person living with us and needed to have it renovated to accommodate him. Wewanted our old tub out and a shower put in, with a bench so he can sit down and a mid wall hand held shower head along with a stationary shower put in. We also needed grab bars installed so he can get in and out with ease. I called before Thanksgiving and made and appointment for someone to come out and discuss terms. The person that came out was very pleasant and knowledgeable, laid out everything for us and told us with what we wanted it would cost an additional $8,000, which is what we expected. He also stated that with no surprises, the bathroom would be finished before Christmas and they could get started the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. At first, they did a great job. They came and demo'd the bathroom down to the frame. They were helpful in pointing out that the copper piping was sub-par and made recommendations on its repair. They also found that to be the case with the electrical. They went out to the box and found circuits melting, so they made recommendations on its repair or replacement. We knew that some re-wiring had to be done in that the house was built in '79 and had never been updated. Both repairs were done and they did a great job. After that, they came and built a pony wall for the custom shower, then drywalled and tiled. In all of that, they did and excellent job. However, later on when they came to plaster, that's when the trouble started. They came out and looked at the pony wall and noticed that the tile on the top edge of the wall jutted out a little further than the drywall. He looked at it and said that it was going to be hard. I left him to do his work. Later he called out and said he was done and left. I went to go see what he had done and it looked atrocious! He didn't even try to even it out! He had plastered it that way so the wall came out to a curve! He didn't try to straighten it out. I called the foreman and he stated that the wall will look the way it's supposed to look when all is finished. So we waited for them to return and fix it. Instead, they came and textured it that way! We texted the foreman again, and once again he said to not worry that he would get it fixed. We waited a few days and someone came out and added a little more plaster to even it out, but the center of the wall was still concave. We still kept complaining, they still kept botching it and sending someone out to texture it. They had very poor communication. The fourth time out, when I told them that the wall was still not right, the guy that came to texture it again called his supervisor and the supervisor told him to leave, that it was not cost effective to work on that wall when there was other work to be done and that he had "already been out there four times". When he told me what his supervisor said, I told him that he could paint or do something else to get this bathroom finished and leave the wall last. He said he couldn't and he left. We waited for a couple of weeks until someone came out to fix the wall. He added more plaster and said that that was all he could do, and left. It was still wrong. We had to wait and wait for someone to come out. Sometimes they said they would come out, and never would. When the foreman stepped in, things finally got done and the bathroom was finished. So after 2 1/2 months, it was finished. What I don't understand is when they saw that the tile stuck out too far, why didn't they just pop it off and trim it to meet the drywall? The wall still isn't perfect, but unless you really look at it, it isn't that noticeable. The bathroom is beautiful and we've gotten a lot of compliments on it. The subcontractors did a great job in that they made sure that everything was right. They really took pride in their work, except for the plaster people. However, some of the guys, especially the plaster guys, made a big mess. They were dumping their dirty water in my planters. When I walked outside and looked, all of my plants were white and some of them were even stepped on!! My walk ways were white with plaster residue. They had also left food wrappers in my garage where they were working. I called the foreman and he sent someone out to clean up. When the guy arrived, he picked up the trash hosed down the walk ways and said that the plants would be fine. My plants still have white residue on them and it's going on two months! We just had those plants put in! If it wasn't for the foreman, I don't think this job would have been done right. He's the one that saved it. Once again, our bathroom did come out great. ***However since, Skyline has bent over backwards to try to fix the problem and the issues brought to light are being addressed. They offered to make it right, and they came through for us. Also, I have to add, that even the county inspector was impressed with the job they had done. When he came to inspect the plumbing, etc., everything was done right the first time. He said that "that never happens". We are confident that everything is working properly and will continue to work properly. They did a lot for us, and in all fairness, the pros actually did out weigh the cons.
