I got Scotts number from a friend of mine, since i try to hire only based on referrals especially contractors. His crew did an amazing job we had some water damage issues in parts of the house and we needed to match the new hardwood to the old hardwood he was able to find us the matching color. His price was not the lowest, but again my motto is cheap price cheap work and his price was in the median but his guys work was exceptional. They were in and out and cleaned up very very nicely. I highly recommend them if you are looking for quality work.

We recently purchased a house from 1925 - beautiful, but the hardwood floors were definitely in need for a treatment. Super scratched, it probably hadn't been taken care of for at least 20-25 years: the previous owners had dogs and the scratches caused by their claws were very visible. We also wanted to have the work done as soon as possible. Scott came to take a look at the floors - perfectly on time and very nice and professional - and he explained to us what our options were. We decided to go for the sanding of the floors with polyurethane coating and finish. The job would take 6-8 days, depending on the weather conditions. As I said, we really needed to be in the new home on February 11th, that being a hard date. Scott was amazing: his company was all booked up and he initially could start on the 9th of February, which was too late for us. He understood our situation and very kindly asked one of his clients if they would mind starting a bit later - luckily and very graciously this client accepted and Scott planned to start on the 3rd of February. On the 29th of January I receive a call: it's Scott, who tells me he has finished a job earlier and, if we are ok with it, he can start working on our floors the day after, so 4 days earlier. For us that was a gift: we knew that you should let the hardwood floors rest for a couple of weeks before putting furniture on them. His team, led by Cesar, came on the 30th and worked constantly till the 6th of February, day when the job was completed. The floors look stunning, both in terms of colour and in terms of quality: we couldn't have asked for anything better! So we definitely recommend Olde Tyme Floor - Scott won't disappoint!

Scott and his team are amazing. My tiny 12 x 8 in home office use to be the back porch which the original owner enclosed. They never leveled the natural slope needed for a concrete slab on the back porch. They initially installed lino, then prior to my purchase it was carpeted. After several years of shimming the legs on the desks and rolling forward plus the constant carpet cleaning I decided to finally level the floor and install laminate. After searching Angies List and reading the reviews I contacted Scott at Olde Tyme Flooring in October 2013. While the plumber was at his home installing a new water heater he came by to assess the room and provide an estimate. He discovered that the floor sloped 3-1/2" on one side and only 2-1/2" on the other side. He explained the process and time needed to level the floor. The next day he supplied his flooring distributor where I selected my floor. Within a few days he provided an estimate - the hitch to my flooring needs was that due to the nature of my business I could only have the work done over the Christmas holidays. He had not problem with that and I accepted his bid which was very reasonable. On 12/23 they showed up and pulled up the carpet, Scott accessed the slope and was off to get the various sizes of luann and plywood needed to level the floor. During this time his team meticulously covered all the doors/windows/cabinets with plastic to prevent dust intrusion. They spent the entire day leveling the floor - it was like a giant jigsaw puzzle. The next day they finished leveling and installed the laminate. I have two concrete steps down into the office and for safety measures Scott decided to glue hardwood that was stained to match the flooring onto the steps. They returned on Friday to box and level the steps and glue the hardwood that matched perfectly the floor to the steps as well ad installing molding around the base of the wall. I am so happy with the floor and I no longer have to shim the furniture and I no longer roll into the desk. The time/money estimate Scott provided was spot on. He also provided a name of a handyman who removed a door in that room so a wall/window could be installed. Scott actually checked out and critiqued the handman's work as well.

They were great. I was in Virginia when the work was performed. I am grateful to Angie's List for introducing me to Olde Tyme Flooring.

I contacted three different flooring companies for my repair job. Not only was Old Tyme's estimate the lowest, Scott made an effort to go to different suppliers to try to find the closest match, and he was able to find bamboo that was extremely close to the existing flooring. This was a huge relief because otherwise I would have had to replace a much larger section of the floor. Furthermore, they were able to schedule me relatively soon, which was important since I had bare concrete in part of my condo that I was living in. The workers that came and did the work were very professional and did everything in a relatively short period of time. Scott even sent Ruben back after the replacement drywall was put in in order to put back on the base molding. All in all, I was very happy with the work Scott and his team did on such short notice. I definitely plan on going to him for any future flooring needs.

I never used them. I was interetested in using them, because of the other good reviews. I called, left a detailed message, and never heard from them. So I moved on.

Scott came out personally and gave us an overview of what they would be doing. It all went as he said and they finished on time. They stripped, sealed and coated with polyurethane. Looks like new floors. We were very pleased and if we ever need this done again, we will certainly call them.

Replace water damaged portion of hardwood flooring and refinish several rooms. They worked quickly and kept their appointments and did what was promised.

Everything promised was delivered on time with quality work and courtesy. Both the contractor, Scott, and his workers were prompt, courteous, responsive, neat, thoughtful and wonderful. Scott's bid was also substantially lower than other bids I got. Can't praise Olde Tyme Floors too highly.

They were straight forward and honest

Met with service provider to discuss estimate for requested work. Estimate was too high for our budget and we were concerned about the amount of time required to complete requested work.

The owner, Scott, was very informative and patient. Educated me on the different flooring options, evaluated the existing flooring and offered suggestions for new flooring. He was very responsive to all my concerns and was always available by email or phone. His two installers were very professional and hardworking. The result was beautiful new red oak floors. I'm very happy with the floors, and would highly recommend this company.

Thanks to Scott's very detailed and honest assessment of the needed work, we decided not to do the work.

It was done in a timely and professional manner. The men were careful about keeping the dust to a minimum and making sure everything was clean when they left.

Olde Tyme Floor Company did a fantastic job!! Scott Schneider and his work crew were great! Scott came to our home and gave an honest appraisal of the repair costs and answered all of our questions. He was very responsive to our questions. In comparison to the other companies that gave us estimates, Olde Tyme was the most thorough and complete. Every step of the process was explained to us. They took great care in safeguarding our furniture and possessions. Scott kept us informed throughout the job and the work was completed on time. The finished floor is amazing! The deal was actually a much larger job with a $500.00 credit. The amount quoted was $1,500 or more, much more. I was not willing to enter what might have been an open ended contract.

Scott Schneider (the owner) was right on top of things. Although I thought it was a little pricey for what I wanted done, the work was done perfectly, so I suppose the old adage -- you get what you pay for -- is true. Initially, I called and scheduled an appointment. Scott came out as agreed, looked at the area, measured it, etc., then sent me an estimate within a day or two. We then scheduled a time for the work to be done (around my schedule). Most of the prep work was done off premises, and the steps were then installed in less than a day. I'm very happy with the steps, and all-in-all, it was a good experience.

Scott is very responsive to emails and phone calls. He discussed the job clearly with me and held to his side of the agreement. We had to discuss issues that came up with the floor when we discovered that the floor was damaged. We did not know the condition of the floor until the carpet was removed. The floor in one room was completely damaged and Scott gave us a reasonable price on installing new floor instead of sanding the old one. At one point during the work, the workers blew out the main fuse to our house. Scott was not able to contact his electrician quickly enough, so I contacted my own electrician and Scott did not hassle me at all about reimbursing me for the cost that I paid the electrician. I'm sure that his electrician would have done it more cheaply than mine did because mine charges a lot for urgent requests. Scott simply apologized for not being able to respond quickly enough and immediately stated that they would pay all costs of the repairs. In actual fact, my house is so old, he could have made a case for it being my responsibility. He didn't. Scott is professional and wants to do his clients right. I highly recommend him.

Fine. Provider called me; was polite; and had a reasonable reason for not being able to honor the deal.

It went very smoothly. I was stuck at the last minute with putting wood flooring in my kitchen and Scott was very easy to work with and got me scheduled as soon as he could. The quality of the work is first rate and I would use Olde Tyme Flooring again without any hesitation.

Installed flooring in two room. His workers are very contentious about the all the mess that the work creates. At the end of the day they tried to leave things livable. The work was very professional.

The installers were on time and very polite. My new floor looks beautiful and I'm so pleased with my choice. I had interviewed a few other companies for the job, but felt the most comfortable in going with Olde Tyme Flooring Sure, he cost a little bit more - but I know you get what you pay for and I am confident in the quality of the product and the installation. I will have beautiful hardwood floors in my bedroom for many years to come.

The service was great. I had three bids and their price was the best. From start to finish they worked on the job until everything was done. I have been very happy with their work.

Scott and his crew at OTFC did an amazing job installing hardwood floors throughout our new home. We had 4-5 other quotes and felt most confident that Scott could get the job done right - you can tell he takes great pride in his company and really knows his stuff. Scott set us up with his supplier and got us a great price on real hardwood wood floors that we purchased ourselves (an addition to the approximate cost) - it was actually cheaper than the engineered wood we were considering with another contractor! This was not a simple job - the bulk of the work was prep. OTFC removed the existing carpet throughout the home. The living room and dining room area (about 800sf) subfloor was covered in particle board that needed to come up as well. This stuff did not come up cleanly and took a great deal of work to remove. On top of that, Scott and his crew demolitioned our existing fireplace hearth and entryway floors. Our living room had a severe 2" Slope over 10 feet that needed to be leveled. Scott's foreman Caesar and his team did an excellent job leveling the slope with layers of plywood to within 3/8" of an inch. In addition to that, our stairs to the second floor were sloped as well - Caesar leveled them perfectly. Throughout the whole job Scott's communication was transparent. He was involved in every step of the process and was always accessible to answer any questions we had. After the job finished we had a small issue with a squeaky stair. I reached out to Scott about it and he sent Caesar to fix it the same day. Now that is customer service! Without a doubt, I highly recommend Olde Tyme Floor Co.

I would not recommend Olde Tyme Floor Co., Inc. They were overpriced and did very little and the quality of the craftsmanship was average. They had a square footage and when I bought the big deal, it talked about rooms and so I thought I would get a room done but they saw the rooms the way they calculated the rooms was the tiniest room in the tiniest apartment, so anything that would be bigger than a cell was considered more than one room and they charged exorbitant per sq foot after the big deal. They made their money by charging extortionary rates. I ended up compromising with them and getting one room done but then when I saw their prices were double I looked up another company to do the room that I originally wanted to have done and I found out that their prices were double what they should be. The coating that they put on the floor was okay but the other company did a better job and they spent more time. They charge a heck of a lot of money, the bonus coupon was like a little teaser to get you to pay more money. I would not use them again.
