OMG! Look no further for the right team to install your hardwood floors! Scott and Cesar and Julio are the greatest! Clear, reliable, fair, professional, but most importantly, extremely knowledgeable and skilled. I met with Scott and told him what we were looking for. He gave me a quick tutorial/background about the different methods that could be used and then gave his opinion on the best option for us. He was so right! My house is completely transformed… the wood floors are so gorgeous and the installation is flawless. We are talking true artists with the highest level of accuracy, thoughtfulness, and integrity. When we were installing, we mentioned that the floor creaks. Cesar knew exactly what to do during the installation and the creak has been eliminated! We were so happy with everything that we added on an extra and had them remodel our stairs. Scott knew exactly what would look amazing and we went with his vision and it’s completely transformed my house to look more modern, cleaner, and just overall elegant! I cannot recommend Olde Tyme Floors highly enough. They are truly the best… the best people we’ve ever had work in our house!!! At the end of each day, they tidied up and left everything in pristine condition at the end of the job. Scott and his crew at Olde Tyme Floor Co. are true artisans of flooring. We were restoring a 1954 midcentury modern that had been a rental, so the floors had a lot of wear. The original parquet tiles were in most of the house; the original tiles from the hallway into one bedroom had been removed in the past due to water damage. Olde Tyme Floor Co. started by sanding down the old dark stain to reveal the beautiful original mixed fruitwood. They hand cut and laid new parquet where it was damaged to closely match the original. The pieces were thoughtfully laid out so that there was variation much like the original. The threshold that connects old and new is seamless. The final natural stain is a gorgeous finish that highlights the wood floor and significantly brightens the house. To work with Scott is a dream. Scott was so honest and clear that we hired him to complete our general contractor work for this remodel, replacing a person who finacially inflated jobs while the work was in process. Scott communicates proactively, and is extremely clear. All of the work and estimates were transparent. Scott was onsite nearly every day, and made sure to understand our needs so that the final product was exactly what we wanted. I highly recommend Olde Tyme Floor Co. for flooring that is done right. This is an old craft that Scott and his crew are extremely proficient with. Floors are worth investing in and once I saw the results, I knew Olde Tyme Floor Co. was the right choice.

Olde Tyme installed 5in white oak in 3 bedrooms and refinished the existing white oak flooring in home. Looks beautiful — clean and consistent throughout. Scott the owner is a veteran with abundant insights and advice. Cesar and Julio are the utmost professionals and their workmanship and pride in their craft is clear. Scott Schneider who owns Olde Tyme Flooring Co. was outstanding to work with. He listened carefully to my concerns about my worn wood floors and understood my budgetary constraints. He offered me a range of options and possible outcomes, but wanted to wait to do a formal visit to view my condo before discussing a final recommendation and bid. Throughout the process, Scott was professional, very knowledgeable and informative, detailed, energetic, conscientious, attentive and personable. He took time to show and send me examples of the various processes he could offer, as well as related products that I might also purchase to care for my wood floors after my wood treatment was completed. His team of three under Cesar also were wonderful. They worked with enthusiasm with Scott as he met with them together on the day of work to identify areas that needed special attention. They were all very respectful, hardworking, and thorough. Finally, Scott is generous beyond the norm in how he invests even more time after the job was completed by coming to the condo the next day to see the final job and to bring me a new mop suitable for me to maintain my floors. He also spent over an hour going over products and other precautions I could take to maintain my flooring. In sum, I would recommend Scott and Olde Tyme Flooring in the highest terms possible.

Scott with Olde Tyme Floors is a second generation hardwood flooring craftsman. Scott saved me after a BAD flooring installation a decade ago, and corrected all of the defects. When I was ready to install hardwood floors in my new home, Scott is the ONLY contractor I called - he is the ONLY person I would trust. Scott is honest as can be and his prices are fair. Scott's crew has been with him for 15-25 years and they are loyal and respective craftsmen themselves. Scott has now expanded into "luxury vinyl hardwood" flooring, and so he can accommodate all budgets. I can't recommend Scott enough.

Scott and Pamela were very helpful and responsive with lining up all of the details prior to the install. We left the house for two weeks and came back to a beautiful wood flooring that matched our upstairs. The company clearly showed attention to detail and Scott provided a lot of helpful background information on each step of the process. Will definitely call up Old Tyme Floor for any future projects!

We had a slab leak and as a first time homeowner I was worried, but at the end we couldn’t even tell where the slab leak occurred. Scott and his team deserve the highest of praises. The work exceeded our expectations. Scott even added a floor reducer that transition nicely with the bathroom floor. Prior to the work, Scott gave me the pros and cons between refinishing or installing a new floor, that helps a lot when deciding which option to take.

Old Tyme tore out and hauled away our carpet, prepped and sealed the concrete, and installed Marmoleum (natural linoleum) floors and moulding in two rooms and a hallway. We purchased the flooring from the manufacturer, not through Olde Tyme, so that was a separate cost. These guys do excellent work. They cleaned up beautifully after each day of work, and carefully followed Covid safety protocol as well. The only problem we had was with scheduling. Still, we would recommend this company and will probably call them for our next project.

The squeaking floors of our 60-year old Tarzana home had finally gotten to our last nerve, so after a quick Home Advisor/Angie's List search, I put out a request to multiple suppliers for help on repairs. Scott at Olde Tyme Floor was the first to respond, and he walked me through all the possible ways they could try to help, but was candid that it might not work given the age of our floors and not knowing (on the phone) their condition. We agreed I'd invest an hour (at his clearly communicated upfront hourly rates), by which time he felt they'd be able to see whether any of the solutions would work. His guys showed up promptly this morning as expected, and Scott followed shortly thereafter. Unfortunately, due to the condition of our floors, none of the potential solutions appeared to be working, so Scott stopped the work after perhaps 45 minutes and confessed they wouldn't be able to get the results they'd hoped for (or I'd be satisfied with), and rather than have us spend a lot of money on a job that wouldn't meet either of our expectations (and it would have been a lot of money given how many squeaks we have), he opted to walk away. He could have easily futzed around for a few hours and charged us hundreds of dollars and left us feeling a little better but not thrilled, but instead he was honest about the situation and the problems with our floors that kept the solutions from working. To take it one step further, despite our agreeing upfront that we'd pay for an hour, whether it worked or not, he decided not to charge us anything (which we greatly appreciated). Scott will certainly be the first person we call when we decide we can't live with the squeaks, so maybe you'll see an update to this review about how happy we are with our brand new floors, but for now we'll just give Scott and Olde Tyme Floor an "A" review for being incredibly helpful and honest, and for not charging for a visit when THEY weren't satisfied with the results (tell me when THAT has ever happened before!). It went great. Scott was very professional and got the work done sooner than we expected. His estimate was $450 less than my other estimate. His two guys did a great job! They were kind and did the job quickly. I'm very happy with the results and would hire them again. In fact we plan on it.

Scott was great to work with. We were getting our floors refinished after moving out and before renting our house so I wanted someone who I felt totally confident in. Scott brought up things during the process that we had not considered and was super helpful - I appreciated that since he is the expert and this was our first time doing anything to our hardwood floors. His price was slightly higher than others but I felt it was worth it to know that the job would be done perfectly since we would not be there to oversee the work.

My girlfriend and I were very pleased overall with the final product and total project costs. This is actually the 2nd time I've used Olde Tyme to replace older flooring. The last job was for 1200sq. ft. of Canadian Maple. The owner Scott explains everything up front regarding the project and his guys even helped us move all of our furniture from room to room as the floors were being completed due to our ongoing house renovation. My girlfriend and I will not hesitate to use them again if needed.

Scott and Cesar at Old Tyme Floor did an absolutely fantastic job refinishing the hardwood floors in my condo. Rarely have I worked with a contractor where: 1. They explained everything upfront, including all my options, very patiently 2. They showed up on time every day and did everything they said they would 3. Patiently provided advice and guidance 4. Did an absolutely killer job on the actual work 5. Were as nice as can be So professional - I wish all service companies were like this! A+++!

This is, hands down, the best company that has ever done work at our house. Scott, the owner, was a pleasure to deal with. The wood floors look stunning. The job included refinishing an existing floor, and installing new wood floors throughout the house, that had previously had carpets. Our house is very modern, with a lot of custom work and problem-solving needed on the job. Cesar, the foreman and lead on the job, was terrific. He (as well as Scott) figured out how to lay wood in a room with a curved wall, and how to make the top of the wood flooring throughout the house even in height with the adjacent slate floors in the corridors. There was a huge amount of skill involved in figuring our how to install the new floors, sand everything to perfection (which is an art in itself), and apply the layers of sealer and finish. We are beyond happy with our floors and highly recommend this company.

Scott and his team were amazing. I had about 1200sqft of floor done. From the front room to the master bedroom. No more carpeting in this house. They did all the demo, leveling and then installing of a new hardwood. It took 7 whole days to complete. When they left my house was new. All the clean up was done. Very professional craftsman.
