Description of Work: I called Scott to provide an estimate for a 3 bedroom hardwood sanding job, he was nice at first but once we were on the phone a little bit he asked if I was getting other bids. I told him honestly I was, and then the attitude changed completely. He started to get a bit nasty, saying "I'm not the least expensive guy out there." And "I am not really interested". Nevertheless in the end he said he would come out for an estimate. Then, even after taking the trip and having access to my home to make a bid, he said again he was not interested and "didn't feel well." I have a feeling he saw another company's bid on my table and that upset him. Listen Scott and fellow Angie's List members, people get other bids when doing a project that cost customers thousands of dollars. Shocking! Welcome to America. And the fact that you are scared off by other bids means you are likely way too expensive. On top of that Scott was more than nasty and belligerent on the phone. Stay away form this guy unless you want to overpay and deal with nastiness if you have other bids.

Description of Work: Very good but offer was not clear, was more expensive than others who quoted with an additional finishing coat and furniture moving included, and lead time was too long. Person was very professional and courteous, just didn't work out this time.

My floor looks good as new! I am so appreciative to Scott and Old Tyme Floor Co. I couldn't find anyone who could do my repair. They could have easily just said no, but they really helped me out. Description of Work: I called this contractor based on reviews on Angie's list to give me a quote for refinishing the hardwood floors in my living room. He seemed to indicate that he was busy and gave me a verbal that was way out of line, in reality Scott Schneider's quote was literally double that of other "A" rated providers. I asked him to e-mail the quote as confirmation which was not done. He was obviously not interested in taking on my small job and priced it accordingly.

This a second generation in flooring company and I think that made a huge difference at every turn. Scott is both reasonable and responsible. Description of Work: We had kitchen and bedroom hardwood floors refinished. This included extensive prep, putting up plastic to keep the dust down from sanding, meticulous removal of the old finish and inserting new boards where needed. The stain was done followed by the coats of finish. Scott, the project manager, was there at the beginning and the end to make sure everything was done properly.

+ 0 moreScott came out and gave me an estimate on re-sanding, re-staining and re-sealing my kitchen, breakfast room and two hall floors. He worked around my schedule. Was willing to negotiate a price.... Was professional, courteous, friendly and helpful. The job took 10 days ( a little longer than anticipated) but he included doing my sliding door thresholds.....and was so very accommodating! He even left my oven on rollers, so the repairman who started the oven repair, could move it out and back without harming the new floors. His workers were careful with my belongings and replaced everything back exactly as it was when they originally started. If you need flooring USE SCOTT! He is so good, I am having my bedroom floors done next. Great guy, has terrific employees, reasonable prices and I could not be happier! Most importantly, he stands by his work and will not leave until you are satisfied. Thank you Scott!

+ 0 moreOlde Tyme Floor Co. did a wonderful job redoing our hardwood floors. We bought an older house that had existing hardwood floors but the additions didn't have wood. Olde Tyme Floor Co. had to level the area that had sub flooring and feather in the new wood to match the existing floor. It looks fantastic, no one can tell where the old floor ended and where the new floor started. Scott was very professional, explaining the entire process to us, if we had any questions he was always available. The quality of workmanship can't be beat. The crew were professional, courteous, and cleaned up each night after they finished. When it came time to choosing the floor color they found out what colors we liked and then laid out several color swatches on the floor for us to select from; their input was extremely helpful. We are so pleased with the way the floors came out, everyone that comes over comments on how beautiful the floors are first thing. There is a real love for what they do and our floors definitely reflect it. Beautiful floors make the house and now ours looks like a million bucks.
Description of Work: Adding hardwood floors to additions that were not wood. leveling out the sub flooring and feathering the new wood to the old to make everything match. Sanding and staining the wood floors.
