This was a great experience. Julien came in, examined the problems and gave a very complete up-front quote on the project. Once scheduled, he arrived on time and completed the work in a very thorough and professional manner. We were very pleased with the results and with the cleanup afterward. Great service at a reasonable price. We will definitely use his service again.

Amazing work! Julien replaced all the interior doors in the house with new 6 panel doors. It was a challenging job since all doors had to be shaved to fit the jams! They installed new hardware and painted, plus they refinished the existing casing which was in bad shape. Job site was cleaned up nicely after each days work. Great experience. Julien is very professional and we will hire him again.

We had our master bathroom remodeled a couple years ago (from the studs up back then also), but in the fall of 2014 we started seeing water spots on the ceiling on the first floor and upon further investigation found cracks in the grout of our fairly newly remodeled bath surround. Upon testing and verification that this was indeed where the water was leaking from (to make a long story short, the previous contractor - not hired through Angies List - did not do a proper job of water proofing behind the tiles and also did a poor installation job with multiple cracks appearing less than a year later), we received several bids on fixing the problem ranging from just simple fixes (which I would consider bandaide type fixes, not really addressing the problem of the poor water proofing behind the tile) to complete tear down and new tile work. After carefully considering the bids (and the perceived knowledge base and attitude of all the bidders) we chose Julien. We are glad we did. Julien was professional, showed up on time, pointed out things that I had missed or did not see about other things wrong (such as the floor tile grout also cracking and starting to chip). Julien did not try to upsell us, he simply pointed it out, quoted on the original work we asked for and said that if we wanted to have the other repairs made, he would give us a separate quote. I didn't think it would hurt. After review the quote for the full repairs, we went that route. Julien showed up on time on day one and their first task was they construction proofed our house... They laid paper down on all of our tile in the front entry area along with moving pads to absorb any construction debris they may accidentally drop to prevent damaging our tile, they laid cling type plastic runners along all of the carpet leading up the stairs and into the master bedroom leading to the master bath. Since we were still living in the master bedroom during the construction, they built a temporary plastic wall making a narrow direct path from the bedroom door to the bathroom door to prevent dust entering the rest of the bedroom. Everyday, Julien's crew cleaned up, removed all debris, swept and vacuumed (we saw no traces of of their work except the progress being made). They removed the toilet, removed the vanity, tore up all the old floor tile (which is where we discovered why the floor grout was cracking, the subfloor was never replaced by previous contractor and was rotting in places), replaces all of the subfloor down to the studs, tore all the old tile out from bath surround, retiled floor (including under the vanity), water proofed behind bath surround with high quality materials that he showed us before using, retiled bath surround to ceiling and installed a niche for shampoo and accent tile highlights (looks way better than first job), reinstalled toilet, vanity and sliding glass shower doors. This is why we then had Julien and his crew perform the other projects around our house. All projects were performed with the same skill and attention to detail. I must note, that we provided all tile, grout, doors and ceiling fans because we wanted a certain look (Julien's price included all the other materials)... I had under estimated the amount of grout and was short a couple tiles because I didn't factor for the extra tiles for the niche, but Julien's crew knew where we purchased and went on their own to get the extra supplies and just provided me with the receipt and we added the actual cost to the payment (no mark up on materials or anything). I think Julien subcontracte the painting of the master bedroom and bath because the attention to detail of the paint work was not the same as the attention to detail that his contruction crew provided on the rest of the project, that was probably the only disappointing thing. Julien and his team were professional and curteous at all times!!! I would hire them again in an instant and we are looking forward to their help on several other large projects this summer!

We arranged for Julien to come out and give us a quote to refinish our front door. He arrived right at the appointed time (a Friday evening after his work day), assessed the work needed and provided us a written quote via email. We selected our paint and hardware for the door, (we wanted to do this part of the process ourselves) and had it ready for the work to be done. We called him, set an appointment and he and his associate arrived on time as arranged. His subcontractor prepped the door and then began to paint it. Because we wanted the outside one color and the interior side another color, the work took a little longer because the interior side needed additional coats of paint. Overall the work took about 9 hours to complete. Part of the reason it took this long was because the day was quite cool and we had just had a few days of rain so the atmosphere was a little damp. But it worked out ok and the door looks great. After the paint was sufficiently dried, Julien returned and installed the hardware which included the lockset, peephole and door knocker. We realized after Julien left that the deadbolt did not fully engage because the opening in the door jamb was slightly offset from the new hardware. We called Julien the next morning and he came out later that afternoon and rectified the situation. The deadbolt works fine now and there was no additional charge for this return visit. We are very pleased with the way the door turned out and we would recommend Julien to our friends and neighbors. He is friendly and professional, as was his subcontractor.

For starters, Julien is very smart...as in intelligent. This means that he thinks outside the box and figures things out in an efficient and proper way. If he doesn't know how to do something, he'll either tell you or figure it out - but not in a fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants way...in the correct way. He is a savvy businessman (he is a licensed contractor, by the way...) and extremely professional. Estimates are provided clearly and quickly. He is prompt, responsive and a nice guy to be around. He is polite and friendly, but doesn't talk your ear off - he's there to get the job done, and let me tell you something...he is there to get it done right. He is a perfectionist. And so is his crew. He runs a very tight ship - even his office manager has her act together. Honestly, I think we'll be calling Julien as long as we live here. We trust him so much that now we just ask him for advice on miscellany, like attic insulation and things like that. He is a really good guy, committed to excellence and boy, does he work hard. It is really nice to have someone who is responsive, professional and nice! I recommend him as highly as one can.

They were awesome and so we would hire them again. He's a perfectionist and very professional. He was responsive and he got back to us right away even though he's very busy. He's on time all the time.

I only used him once. He was good. I liked him. He was on time. He had a helper with him and he had everything that I would need. He had some parts which he carried along with him so that was good. He did everything that I asked him to. I liked the service. It was a reasonable price.

I needed this door to move my wordworking tools in my workshop in the house we were moving into. Julien did a great job and it turned out better than expected.

It went great! My wife and I wanted to replace the original hot rolled linoleum floor (late 60s) in our kitchen with ceramic tile. We discussed the project with Julien, who made some excellent suggestions about color, size and pattern. The job went extremely well. As my wife told Julien, the new floor was a great finishing touch to our kitchen remodel because it tied everything together.

Julien was terrific, he built a beautiful pergola in my backyard, he was clean and efficient. At the end the job was great I couldn't ask for more. I will use him for any home improvement I do moving forward.

It's a year ago and I honestly cannot remember every single thing. I know that I was stressed because I was moving house and he just got on with redecorating certain areas that my real estate agent didn't like! He was polite, worked quickly, worked hard and did a great job. He deserves to be kept busy because he is good and there are too many charlatans out in the market place. Julien isn't one of them!

Contacted Julien in April and received quotes for work I needed or wanted done. Selected about 10 of the most important and asked them to set up a date to do the work. I had to wait a couple weeks but nothing was a 'critical' fix so it was fine. The work itself took about 3 1/2 days to complete - a Monday to Wednesday and then the Friday for finish work. The small work included install front door light; replace 4 outside faucets; garage door weather strip replace; repair pot pull tray in kitchen; replace 2 window screens; install grab bar by tub in bath room; Install shelves in a bedroom closet (to replace one broken one); fix small section of tile in kitchen. I was so thrilled to be able to get so many smaller items taken care of and crossed off the list of things to be done. AND the work itself was completed quickly but with accuracy. One of the medium updates was to install shade cloth in the entry area to replace shade that had come from an overgrown tree that had to be removed in order to have the house painted. This item was mainly for my husband so that the plants he likes to tend have a shaded area to live in. We had the house painted last fall and the painters 'tried' to do this for him but were not able to attach it properly and the first wind blew it down again. I showed Julien the area and he had some excellent ideas on how to make this work - he added additional wood pieces between the existing beams to make a cross hatch and attached the cloth to the bottom of the wood with screws and large washers. This job was completed in two days and my husband was so thrilled - and we were even more thrilled to see that the cloth did not move at all during some very high winds we had come through here 5 days after the fix was done! VERY, VERY pleased. I was especially delighted with how the finished work looked and think that it improves the house look overall. Sorry, I did not think to take before/after pix. The biggest job was to remove the kitchen ceiling florescent light fixture box and replace with new LED recessed lights and dimmer switch. This job took the longest with the demolition and rebuild of the old box area and then their electrician came in to put in the lights and switch. (He, also, was able to add a new circuit to plug in my refrigerator as the old one had too many items and was affecting the performance of the fridge.) After he was done, Julien and his worker installed the drywall in the ceiling and patched. This was left to dry for two days before having the painting done. It is so much brighter than before and looks so much better than it did - glad to have the dimmer switch but the brightest level will be good in the darker winter months. One are where Julien had a problem was one of the faucet replaces had some cracked PVC pipe and he had to replace more than the faucet - he and his crew took the time to get it right. We added some money to this job due to the extra time and I was glad to do it. Another add on was the tile fix in the kitchen to make the refrigerator easier to move in and out (not something I had remembered when setting this up). It was done quickly and looks good and makes to easier to move the fridge! Again a small add on to the original price. Julien and crew were always polite and very quiet - not including the electric tools. I hope to be able to get them back in the next few months for a couple more updates that are desired but not critical. I highly recommend this company.

Julien and his crew were on time and extremely professional. Cleaned up everything and a pleasure to work with. Looking forward to having him remove an interior wall and put in an island in the future.

The service was superb. I very much like Julien's approach of quoting separately for each item; this allowed me to pick which ones I needed to get done and know exactly how much the job would cost. The cost of every one of the tasks was reasonable. The outcome/results were excellent -- everything works as expected. Julien used employees and sub-contractors for part of the work (such as the window repair and plumbing repairs). All of them were courteous, punctual, and very professional. I would recommend Julien to all of my friends.

I was very pleased with the work and would definitely use Julian The Handyman services again. The gentleman they sent was on time and very neat. He was a highly skilled granite/stone professional that we would be happy to hire again if needed.

Julien installed our new ceiling fan a couple weeks ago. We bought it ourselves at Lowe's but we have high ceilings and didn't want to try to install ourselves. Apparently we should have also bought an extender, but we didn't think of that. Julien went out to purchase an extender and couldn't find it at the local Do-It Center, so he scheduled to come back another day after he could pick up the part. I was nervous about the bill of course with multiple visits but he assured me he would not charge more for that and he didn't. He is prompt and professional and the only thing I have to give him less than five starts on is communication - his assistant took a couple days to get back to me each time, but we weren't in a huge hurry and it was a pretty small job. He took the old ceiling fan with him (disposing of it would have been a pain for us) and he left the work area very clean.

I was very pleased with the recent work Julien did to my home. He was punctual, showed up exactly when he said he would. His pricing was fair. He did not try to make the job bigger than it needed to be, like so many contractors do. And, he is a licensed contractor, so capable of much bigger jobs. His work was good and he was neat. I will call him again, and refer him to others.

We are beyond pleased with the quality, thoroughness and exceptional service from Julien. I feel very lucky that I came across this person years ago and can consistently count on him for superior workmanship. He did an outstanding job cementing brick to our new (old) house that needed much updating. It looks so amazing that we're going to do a couple of other surfaces to the house.

We can't say enough good things: Professional, early, considerate, quality of work was great, and they were able to work in challenging conditions. They also came at the last minute after another serviceman failed to show. Without their work, we would have been in an emergency. Thank you so much!!

Julien was nice and seemed professional. We asked for a quote on installing a ceiling exhaust fan/light in a bathroom and for insulating the attic above our one story home. The pricing seemed quite high for the fan installation and was about triple what an insulation contractor quoted us for blowing insulation into the attic.
