California Chimney Sweep is dedicated to helping make your home safe from fire damage. We are a small, family-owned chimney service company whose mission is to provide quality service and honest advice. We have 30 years of experience, so you can trust that we will give you the best advice and service possible. California Chimney Sweep was started in 1984 by Vince McCauley when he started in 1984 he ran the business out of our VW Bus. We have grown into a professional chimney sweeping service with over 30 years experience. For 30 years we have provided superior service to our customers that keeps them coming back. Many of our long-time customers have been with us for over 25 years. We have obtained an "A" Rating on popular consumer review websites, as a result of the many satisfactory reports submitted by the customers we’ve served.

Services we don't offer

We do not rebuild earthquake damaged fireplaces. We do not plumb natural gas to fireplaces. Nesting birds, possums, & racoons cannot be removed from a chimney during the nesting process. They are federally protected. However, they can be monitored.

Description of Work: After our phone call Vince came by promptly the next day, dressed like a chimney sweep with a top hat (nice touch!). Checked smoke chamber and flue tube for measurable soot (not enough for cleaning) Took care of a water problem at the chase cover vacuumed up ashes and put sand and embers in burn pans for a nice look through our double sided fireplace. Spent a lot of time going over what we should do in the future to avoid the smoke problems we were having. The fireplace works great now and what a difference in appearance! Nice job. Would recommend to anyone with fireplace needs. He's also very knowledgeable and helpful.

Description of Work: Friendly, professional and prompt service. We were very happy with this chimney sweep. He cleaned our tow fireplace chimneys and provided the proper spark arresters for the chimney. I would use him again any time. Highly recommended.

Description of Work: I called them out to see if my chimney needed cleaning and I needed a new cap. They arrived on time and were extremely professional. While they were checking the chimney I told them I was having some problems when I lighted my gas logs. My eyes were burning and there was an odor. They examined the gas log set up and realized they were installed incorrectly. I could have had a real problem with carbon monoxide. They also found that the company I had do the initial installation and not installed a safety clip for the flue. They corrected everything and taught me in the "ins and outs" of fireplaces. I am now sending them to my mother's to install gas logs in her fireplace. I would give them an A+.
