Four Angie's list bidders responded to our emailed description and request for bid. CertaPro was chosen based on price and availability. Josh showed up promptly for a detailed job bid walkdown to finalize pricing (basically unchanged from the preliminary bid). Josh answered all of our questions about preparation, paint application, painter's experience, work hours, etc. One week later we started the job. The 3 man paint crew showed up right on time and got to work preparing the wood panel door surfaces to achieve good adhesion of the acrylic semi-gloss enamel paint. We were impressed by the quantity and quality of work completed in just two days! They got a very smooth finish on all surfaces - even better than we had hoped for. They cleaned up each day and were always professional and respectful of our home. We would definitly use this company again and recommend them highly to others.

I couldn't be happier w/ the work performed by Josh Sacora and his CertaPro crew. Their price was competitive w/ other painting contractors. They are very, very customer service focused. They were very fast and did a terrific job. The work crew took care to take off their shoes to keep from breaking the roof tiles. They protected my fence and other areas from overspray. The crew cleaned up every day and at the end of the project. About a week after the project was completed, the CertaPro corporate office (?) called to make certain that I was satisfied w/ the service. I am completely satisfied w/ the work performed by Josh and his Certapro crew. I'll be using them in a coupld of years when its time to paint the interior.

I used CertaPro Painters to paint the exterior of my home in Encinitas, California. CertaPro is a franchise operation, and the owner/manager of the crew that painted my house was Josh Sacora. I didn't go looking specifically for Josh, but he was the guy the guy I ended up with after calling CertaPro's 800-number. Because CertaPro is a franchise, I believe the character of each franchise, and quality of the work they perform, is largely dependent on the specific franchisee, so my experience is really a reflection of Josh and his specific crew(s). Josh provided me with a detailed written estimate for the job, including specifications for necessary prep work (spray-washing, caulking, scraping, stucco repair, trim/door sanding), performing the actual painting (paint to use, number of coats), and cleaning up the jobsite during the work and at the conclusion of the job. My estimate also included removal of ratty old gutters we had on the house, and an optional fee for hauling away the gutters. During the estimate walkthrough, Josh explained that his business had been operating since 2004, and it was comforting to find out that I was dealing with a company that had been around for a few years, and would likely be around after my job was completed. Once I received Josh?s written estimate, I was pleased to find out that his bid was very reasonable?I was prepared for a much higher cost. Josh's operation prefers to use Dunn Edwards paint, and there's a Dunn Edwards store not far from my home?so we set about deciding on a color scheme. Once we had narrowed our choices down to a few different primary shades, Dunn Edwards mixed up samples, which CertaPro picked up, brought to our house, and painted swatches on the house for us to consider. We requested that they paint sample areas on two different sun exposures, so we could see the effect of different lighting?which, of course, matters a lot. Once we decided on a primary color selection, we needed to decide on trim/accent colors, so the paint selection/mixing and sample swatch painting process was repeated again. All of this selection/sampling process was included in the total cost for the entire job. (As an aside, this process was unexpectedly entertaining, since the sample swatches were clearly viewable to all passers-by of our house...and we got lots and lots of comments. The prevailing sentiment in the neighborhood turned out to be exactly what we liked ourselves.) Once our color selections were made, we scheduled the date for Josh's CertaPro crew to start. The entire job was completed in about 3 days (our house is 1800SF). The crew was prompt every day, and very friendly throughout the process (and patient with our questions during the work). During the actual work, there was plenty of mess around the house, but for the most part, things were left presentable at the end of each work day. By the end of the job, not only was the house looking great, but any accumulated debris surrounding the house had been completely cleaned up. (Except the old gutters, which were discards. I was planning a dump-run anyway for other debris I had, so I opted to dispose of the gutters myself.) For the last two years since the house was painted, I admire its appearance every time I approach the house. And when you get extremely close to the house, the quality and attention to detail is very apparent. The job simply looks great. Then, right at the two-year warranty anniversary since the job was completed, I got a suprise: Josh called to schedule check on our satisfaction, and schedule a walk-around of the house to see if there were any touch-ups that needed to be made. I hadn?t noticed any issues myself, but, Josh's keen eye detected a few spots here and there where paint hadn't made it (primarly on our very rough stucco wall-finish, where the sprayer didn't quite get into some of the deeper structures in the surface.) A crew was scheduled to come out to the house and perform the necessary touch-ups, free of charge. Not that the house obviously needed touching up, but it was a really nice touch of customer service to follow-up with us long after the job had been completed. There is no doubt that I would use Josh Sacora's CertaPro franchise again for any other painting I needed done, and I would feel very comfortable recommending him to others. He was fair, friendly, thorough, and he and CertaPro have stood behind the job.

The condo I own needed painting quickly and reasonably so that I could show the property to new tenants. The work was done quickly with the highest professionalism and expertise. I highly recommend this company.

I am very satisfied with the work of Certapro of Carlsbad. Josh is very professional and took the time to fully evaluate the exterior painting and door/threshold repair of my older home. He provides excellent personal service and prompt scheduling. I was impressed with the caliber of his painters who were also highly professional and did more than I expected to bring the back wing of my house into great shape. Josh met with me immediately after my call to him. He helped me decide the best color - he suggested accenting 2 nooks in a different color (excellent suggestion). Josh's crew was always on time. Great attitude. Cleaned up everyday. I felt very comfortable having him in my house.

It turned out nice. The people that they sent to do the painting showed up every day and did a nice job. I?d use them again.

My neighbor and I own separate residences in a twin home structure. CertaPro did a professional job for a very fair price. Any issues. were quickly resolved by Joshua, a very reasonable man, who is the franchise holder. The painting work was actually performed by two painters, a supervisor and his assistant. Luis, the Supervisor, was especially skilled and experienced and very sensitive to our concerns. Both were very conscientious and thorough. Both worked very hard and steadily.

I had a mixed feeling about them. They damaged the wood floors in our house and scratched our wood floor since the worker wasn?t well trained. They pushed our piano and scratched the hardwood floor. They didn?t follow proper procedures. The paint job was kind of okay. They had to come back and clean up several times but still couldn?t clean up everything. It seemed like they were using untrained painters. There was one professional painter and the rest were trainees.

Called the main number and an estimator returned my call a couple of days later. I asked for an estimate to paint the trim on my house. He said that I would have the quote by the evening. It never arrived. I called the next day and left a message that I never received the quote and would like it as soon as possible. It never came. Two days later I called again but no answer. Left message again. Still no quote. Called one last time the next day. No answer. No quote. I will never call again. Very unprofessional.
