CertaPro Painters® of Carlsbad

Good experience from start to finish! Michael, the owner of this CertaPro location, responded very promptly to my request to at the house that we were buying. He showed up on time, and we discussed the scope of work, items that I wanted particular attention paid to, as well as our options were with regard to paint & detail finishing. Overall, it was a very helpful and educational meeting for me. The painting team showed up as scheduled, did the prep work (pressure wash, etc.), recaulking of fascia boards, stucco crack & hole patching, then left to let everything dry. They returned over the next several days and methodically worked on the house section-by-section. They kept us apprised of their progress and plans for each upcoming step, encourage us to take walk around the house and evaluate everything with a critical eye, and answered any questions that we had based on what their experience has shown (which is very useful since they've seen & painted hundreds of home, I can count my house painting experiences on a small portion of one hand.) When they were finished with the project , they cleaned up everything - there was no trace of them having been there, beyond a nicely painted home.

You know that when you reach out to any contractor you'll get mixed reactions. Some will be prompt, some completely unresponsive and some in between. I called CertaPro and set up an appt for an estimate. Got a timely response and Michael appeared on time and walked the exterior of the house with me. He promised an estimate and I received it fully written and detailed the very same day. A-plus! I got other estimates and decided to go with CertaPro. About a month later, after having stone installed on the entire front of my house (which was to be painted but no longer), removed two wrought iron gates, one on the front of the house and one on the side, and a 25' wrought iron deck railing in the back, all also included in the original estimate, I called Michael to tell him we would move forward but would need him to see the changes to adjust the estimate to address the reduced scope of the work. This time he told me it would be several days before we could meet and could only meet in the morning. I agreed and on the appointed day, after waiting around for him I texted 30 minutes after he was to be there that I could wait no longer. He called, ".....sorry, I forgot". He wouldn't meet that afternoon, even late evening, giving me several excuses, but agreed to meet the next day, so we did. I showed him the reduced scope of work and got an estimate a few days later for $500 MORE than the original estimate. He said the price of paint went up! Really? In a month? Can you say bait and switch? Trust level, zero. Be careful with them.

Above and beyond expectations. The team was on time every morning, kind, incredibly detailed oriented and passionate about doing good work. A pleasure to work with. The great learnings: we paid $15 to buy an exact sample of the exact paint quality and sheen that would be applied to the house. Stores give you free samples but they are Satin sheen which is not the sheen (usually matte) that will be used on the house and it turns out that the color looked totally different when not using the same sheen or even paint quality. We also had a color consultant help us pick our colors and that made all the difference, from picking a slightly different color for the garage/service doors, to finding the perfect house body color... We LOVE the result and the 'new' house we got.

Josh was very prompt in making an appointment for an estimate. The estimate was thorough and the final job came in just as expected price wise. His crew (two painters) were very kind, helpful, professional, quick and clean. They removed and then reinstalled all of the draperies, moved all of the heavy furniture. They made sure that all exposed areas were protected so no paint splatters could occur. They made sure the painting was perfect and as a result the ceilings were painted three times. They made sure that all concerns were addressed and were happy to make any changes requested. We couldn't be any happier with the job.

CertaPro Painters was great to work with. The job I had was fairly small, but it was very inconvenient to do. It involved treating rust, priming and painting the roof flashing on a two story house. I had difficulty even getting other painting contractors to quote on the job. Josh came out and gave me a reasonable estimate to do the job. He said he would squeeze it in between other jobs. I was not in a hurry to get it done as it was not an emergency. I accepted his quote and waited. About two weeks later I got an email from him saying that he had finished another job early, and was it ok if he sent someone out the next day to do it. His guys arrived the next morning as promised and completed the job in a few hours. The job was well done. Josh called me a couple of hours later with a follow-up phone call. He wanted to make sure the job was done to my satisfaction, which it was. I will definitely use Certa Pro Painters in the future. They did an excellent job at a reasonable price. Great! Our home looks like new. Marco & crew were professional. punctual, cleaned up thoroughly at end of each day. We would certainly use company again. Highly recommend .

Arturo and his crew were prompt, hard working, diligent and professional. The result was excellent. They returned the cabinets and drawers to a much better condition and look than I dared hope for. The cabinets also hang better now and close better.

The painters were on time, polite. No loud music or loud talking, they just did their job .

Fantastic work, fantastic crew! I have worked with Josh and his crew more than once now and each time has been a great experience. Josh is very responsive and offers so much more than a bid for the job. His crew is on time, respectful and clean. This last job included painting my kitchen cabinets. Every single person who has seen the end product cannot believe how good they look. You cannot even tell they used to be stained wood cabinets. I'm a very happy customer and would recommend Josh without hesitation.

Absolutely I can recommend Josh and Certa Pro Painters. I needed more work than the package I purchased on Angie?s list ? they applied that payment and gave me a reasonable quote to take care of the painting of my house, my fences, my shed, my deck and my porch cover. They did really great work, gave what they promised, on time, and very very good looking results. What more can I say. Absolutely I recommend calling Josh.

The owner of the Certa Pro franchise was very pleasant and helpful. He initially assigned a team to work after we took possession of the house, but before we moved in. This was relatively straightforward. When all looked great, the rest of the house seemed to need painting, so we asked them to do additional work after we moved in. The second and third phases were performed by a different team of workers who were excellent and pleasant to have around. Both the owner and the team helped me select some colors. They were great about moving rugs and furniture back after they were done. They went the extra mile to dispose of old light fixtures that they removed. Because it was a big job all together, there were a number of decisions to be made and sometimes our communication was not perfect, as I thought we were doing something (e.g., baseboard trim) and later I would learn they did not have it on the contract. The cost for the exterior and much of the interior added up to more than we'd planned to spend. I did not get any other quotes, which in hindsight I could have. But for their work, I'd recommend the Carlsbad Certa Pro group to others who want quality painting.

They did great. They were always on time and started/completed on schedule. The price is reasonable considering the time and quality. There was an issue but the resolution proved that Josh is very focused on customer service. He addressed quickly and was very easy to work with. I would highly recommend and will use them in the future.

Josh and his team get the highest remarks from me and my wife on the job we had them do 2 weeks ago on our house. We had been living in a new construction for the past 2 years with the builders white walls in every room. After careful consideration, along with the timing before my wife delivers our first child, we decided to hire Josh and Certa Pro for the job. Not only did they do exceptional work on the paint job through out the interior but they also exemplified professionalism with a clean cut team and punctual efficiency. Not to mention we added a few projects along the way and without hesitation or question, they complied and finished on time. All told the job was worth every penny and the house now looks stunning. If you live in the Carlsbad area and need a professional paint job handled, look no further than Josh and his Certa Pro team to get the job done. I would no question use them again if we need another paint job in the near future.

They are regional now. I put up a TV, and the guys who put up the TV, had to open the wall to do the wiring, so I called them to do it. They were reasonable.

The builders painter put a wrong kind of paint on one of the doors, and it peeled, so these guys came and painted it. It peeled again, so I called them and they came and stripped all the paint and redid it, without any charge. That is how good they are. They called a year later, and asked if the painting they did still held up, and if there was something that needed to be done, because they were approaching the one year mark after a job was done. I told them that the guys who did the painting in the bedroom did not remove things off the shelves, and painted around them, so if they wanted to come and do that, they could, and they came and did it without a charge. This was a year later.

Met or exceeded all expectations. We've used Josh before and we will use him again.

I took off work early to meet Josh with CertaPro for the appointment. He was a no show and I called dispatch twice and they said they left him messages. I got his cell # and left messages directly as well. No call back that day or the next. Finally got a call on Thursday and was told he took off ill with migraine headaches which I can understand. He could not accommodate on Thursday for estimate either which, again, I understand to some degree. However, I run a small business and i would NEVER just skip a client appointment without making sure someone at least contacted my client. Then I would do everything i could to accommodate just as soon as I could - whatever it takes. I did not really get an apology either. Josh seems like a good enough guy and not everyone has the same business ethics that I do- but given the high ratings I was a bit taken aback by the way this was handled. I do not necessarily discourage others from using them - but perhaps they can take this review to heart and think about how they should handle a situation like this next time.

It went very smoothly, all three painters did an excellent job, even the smallest details were addressed. Arturo, the (main painter) made sure we were completely satisfied before leaving our property. Josh (who gave us the estimate) was also very friendly and professional. We are very happy with our overall experience and quality of workmanship.

CertaPro Painters of Carlsbad are professionals from startto finish. CertaPro painted the exterior of my house in August 2014 and they did a wonderful job. I would recommend them to anyone looking to get their house painted. The owner,Josh, is friendly, easy to work with, and responsive. I love how my house looks now and I feel good knowing that we paid for an expert paint job. I also feel good knowing that we worked with a Carlsbad company.

The crew from Certa were exceptional. They always arrived on time, cleaned up after their work was done each day, and most important, the quality of their work was excellent. They painted our whole house exterior and three rooms inside our house. I highly recommend them.

House was not prepped as described. They painted over dirt and and did not repair all wall defects/chips. In the end, they did not want to paint in several sessions as requested. Had lots of touch up to do where spots were missed. Had to return to paint missed door frames. Cabinets did not come out well, rough surface. Look worse now than before painting. Cabinet doors were put back on and did not close correctly. All this at a premium price. This was 180 degrees different from my experience in NorCal where Certapro exceeded expectations on both an inside and outside paint job - thus the reason we selected them. In retospect, I shouod have used the contractor for the remodel for painting for better coordination. Would not use them again.

It was a pleasure to work with a professional company. Josh arrived on time, submitted an estimate in reasonable time and scheduled the painting quickly which we needed. The team that did the painting was clean and neat, polite and professional. The price wasn't the cheapest I had, but it was competitive. It was worth every penny to deal with a reliable company. I recommend them and would choose them again in a minute.

Fantastic! As I expected. I had a great experience with Josh and his crew in November and called them back for a second job. They came that day to give me an estimate and came back two days later to do the job. I am thrilled with the way it turned out! They were polite, on time, careful and. Very professional. Next step-the downstairs!

I called for an estimate and heard back from Josh within a couple hours. We scheduled an appointment for later in the week and met at my property. He was on time and very personable. We spent over an hour together walking the property and discussing options for some changes in the paint that I wanted to make and repairs that his team could fix on wood rot prior to painting the buildings. I received a written estimate a few days later and it was very well priced. (I got estimates from 4 other paint companies as well). Once we decided to hire CertaPro, Josh came back out to the property and we started to work on paint color choices. He took photos and then sent me sample images with different paint color options so I could get a visual image of what the new colors would look like on the buildings. After I selected some colors, we tested the samples on the building and finalized our choices. Once the paint colors were determined, Marco, the project foreman, and his team got started. They were all very friendly and worked early and late hours to accommodate our request to not disrupt our tenant businesses during the peak business hours. They worked 7 days a week until the project was completed and they finished right on their projected end date. We would definitely work with CertaPro again!

It went splendid, it was done in a timely manner and very professional. Josh is responsive to your calls and emails. The tenants should have opened the windows after the first day because of air quality,,,,smells, etc.. Josh told them that next day. Prepare for and prevent this experience by telling tenants on same day. Crew worked well with dog in the house during day. Thanks.
