Description of Work: Snake and camera main sewer line; replaced four inch sewer line from cleanout to city side walk using trenchless method*; got permits; used backhoe for digging and backfilling; hydrojet from city side walk to city main line in street. We had one big surprise that changed the job from complete to partial trenchless method -- about 2/3 of the way out, the main line took a bend, so the rest of the line had to be replaced by new 4 inch line instead of trenchless. The project involved having to remove several bushes, which they would have replanted if we wanted. But as we are relandscaping the front yard, it wasn't necessary. The team worked late into the early evening to finish the job so we wouldn't be without water overnight. A very courteous, professional company.

Description of Work: We noticed bubbles in the asphalt in front of the house, we called the city water & sewer at 9 AM Thurs July 30, 2015. Five city trucks spent 3 hours here and concluded it was our responsibility for the sewer line under the street and they called Code Enforcement. A plumber appeared while the city trucks were here saying he noticed the city trucks and said he could fix it that day and he would be back. He returned about 2PM just as Code Enforcement arrived. He tried to snake the line and couldn't, his conclusion was to dig up the street, replace the sewer line using slurry etc. at a cost of $15,000.00 and who knows how many days without water. Code Enforcement shut our water off immediately and gave a citation. | |We called Franklin & Vizzo 4 PM on 7/30, explained the situation to Matt, what the other plumber found and Matt said he could come the next morning. Matt & Rick arrived on time with 2 trucks including water. Rick immediately ran the camera down and saw the blockage 81 feet out from the house. Matt made an experienced assessment to use the small hydrojet twice, they put the camera down again and used a larger jet head. Rick put the camera down again and this time there was no obstruction. ALL of their work WAS COMPLETED WITHIN ONE HOUR. The water was back on by 10:30 AM, they left everything immaculate. I highly recommend them, their experience is priceless. We are so appreciative to have found them and we will continue to use them for all our plumbing needs. |

Description of Work: Water heater replacement. Phone quote for approximately $350.00. Plumber showed at home as scheduled. Proceeded to replace existing water heater of same make and size as one that had developed a leak. Part of cost was for an updated warranty in the amount of $220.00 as the existing warranty was still in effect. No further discussion of any costs took place. Plumber and his assistant were left in garage to change out the existing water heater. Approximately 90 minutes later, plumber advised job was completed. He requested a check or credit card in the amount of $610.00. He advised that I required additional work above and beyond the initial quote although it had not been a topic of discussion. I offered to pay him an amount commensurate with what I had been quoted plus and an additional amount for the one half hour labor plus the cost of the "earthquake" straps which were an enhancement to the existing solo strap. He refused to accept a check for the any amount less than $610.00. Subsequently, I received a bill requesting payment for $527.13, a reduction from the initial $610.00 but still considerably more than the initial telephone quote. I submitted payment on 9-9-11 in the amount of $434.90 along with a letter explaining the circumstances and the reason for my unwillingness to pay the difference of $92.23. In my letter, I quoted his agreement with Angie's List to provide a written estimate of work to be performed and that did not occur. I further explained that had the plumber done so, we could have avoided this situation. I further pointed out that even with the "completed job", I personally had to make some modifications to ensure any overflow would drain away from a common wall and onto the garage floor.; I had not received a response until today when I received a past due bill for the "disputed amount". Given that 60 days had passed without a response, I believed this had become a moot matter. Apparently not! I had been hesitant to report a negative response on this company as I have used them intermittently for the past 30 years and have generally been pleased.
