The awnings are beautiful and sturdy. Color and material excellent (Sunbrella). The salesman Dennis was nice and responsive to our questions, however we purchased the awnings in June ("June gloom" time), when there were a lot of cloudy cool days, and I was concerned about the projection of the shade measurement. Dennis gave me a formula for how to see the projection, but could not tell me either way that the 2 feet would be just right or not enough. So when this brutal summer came, it turned out that we could have used at least another foot, because of the sun coming in at an angle. I am happy with the little shade we have, but I feel he should have known his business well enough to tell me it would not be enough shade in this super-hot southern location.

I've been working on an outdoor entertaining space in our backyard for literally years. Designing, drawing, getting quotes, redesigning, budgeting, etc. I could never quite get it right because of some unfortunate property limitations. Then last December I found a photo on Pinterest of a bbq and entertainment area shaded by a custom-shaped canvas patio roof structure that curved around trees and then angled perfectly into a weirdly shaped space. It completely opened my mind to entirely different possibilities for this project on which I was paralyzed. The photo linked back to Superior Awning, so I called them and they sent out a man right away who knew everything about the exact project in the photo. He offered a few different ideas for our difficult space, all of which were revelations! My partner and I worked with his drawings, chose one and kick-started the project back into gear. It's nearly finished now and shaded with our own perfectly made-to-order canvas patio cover in an exquisitely textured fabric that glows like candlelight underneath. Superior Awning did a beautiful job with the installation and we're incredibly grateful for the design ideas. Highly recommended.

Despite the good grades here, this is the most unprofessional staff I have ever tried to hire. Maybe I caught them during a bad month. I'm not sure. But if you choose to work with this company, be prepared to experience any of the following: rude receptionists, absent sales reps, inflexible scheduling, slow response, sitting on your deposit and PROFANITY WRITTEN ABOUT THEIR CLIENTS ON WORK ORDERS. When confronted with any of the listed issues, the response was "this is how we do things" and "we will not be issuing an apology". I pulled the job and found much better alternatives out there. I'm positive you can too.

Price quoted was more than my budget, so work was not done.

The company was very responsive in setting up the initial meeting with Joe, the sales rep, who was prompt and personable, answering all questions and helping us decide on design and colors. Work was done in a timely and professional manner. Workers were swift & courteous, cleaning up after themselves. Couldn't be more pleased!

We called Superior Awning and made an appointment to get an estimate on having a new awning installed. Kyle arrived on time to give us the estimate. We showed him where we wanted the awning and what we wanted. He showed us various pictures of the types of awning available and showed us samples of the colors and patterns. He did not bring a latter to measure the area, so I went into the garage and brought him a ladder. After measuring the area, he wrote down what we wanted and what it would cost. I looked at his hand written estimate and we agreed on the price (inlcuding an Angie's List courtesy discount). I then asked him for a copy of the estimate and he told me he would email it to me the next day. After two days, I contact Superior to ask about the estimate; within a day Kyle emailed me the estimate. Unfortunately the price listed was not the price we had discussed, so I sent him an email asking him about the price. He sent me a revised estimate; I agreed to the price and asked that we schedule the work. After several days of not hearing from Kyle, I phoned Superior Awning to ask if they could get us another salesperson, because Kyle was obviously too busy and with warm weather approaching, I wanted the work done as soon as possible. Instead they had Kyle contact me again. He left me a message, letting me know he had car trouble (accident?) which is why he had not contacted me. He then sent me an email message letting me know I had to provide credit card information before they could schedule the work. So, I called Superior to give them my credit card information. The person who answered looked up the agreement, but it still had the wrong price. I told her that the price was not correct and she told me she did not have the updated estimate, so she asked me to email her my copy and then I gave her my credit card information. After several days (1 week?) they called to schedule the actual work. We were given a specific time for installation (between 10am and 2pm). At 1:30pm on the scheduled day, their workers had not shown up, so we called the office to make sure they would be there. The woman told us they were running late, but they would be there by 2pm. The workers finally arrived at 3:30pm, never calling us to let us know. When they arrived they were confused about where the awning was going to be installed, telling us they would have to relocate our porch light. We told them the awning was not being installed by the porch light, so they would not have to relocate it. When they started installing the awning we noticed it was not what we had ordered: we order an awning without side panels. They continued to install it and realized the measurements were wrong, which meant they had to move our gutters!! That same evening I send the company an email message indicating all the problems and that they needed to fix these problems: side panels and awning dimension. After a couple of days I get a call from their office asking if we were available on the following Tuesday for their workers to come remove the awning and then available a couple of days after that to reinstall it. I asked what they were going to do, since she had not mentioned they had received my email or review what I had written. She said they were going to fix the awning and replace it. I agreed and the person who came out to remove it immediately noticed the problems (they were not subtle issues). The person who came back a couple of days later was very personable and professional and left only after we said we were satisfied. The awning looks great and we love it once it now that it was installed properly. Their customer service needs some training. We've had many contractors in the past and we understand that mistakes are made. It's the response of the customer service that can either fix the problem or make it worse. In this case, Superior Awning's customer service, for our situation, was bad and made the situation worse. Also, why would Kyle (owner's son?) arrive to give an estimate without a latter, especially since he is about 5'5" tall and obviously not tall enough to measure roof lines without the help of a ladder?

Exceptional service, even though ran a few hours late on installation. Kyle arranged it very straighforwardly. Carol runs the office and is courtesy and efficiency and loveliness combined. The workers were (two to take down and two to put up) were efficient, neat and polite. The task was a bit daunting because this awning is on the fourth floor and they would usually use three, not two, workers, they said, but they worked it out safely and calmly. No complaints. And at least $300 less than another quote that presumably was 25% off.

_x000D_|It is 15' x 8' and was done quickly. They put extra supports on the walls to hold the weight. They came out several times to handle detail until I was happy. I CANNOT SAY ENOUGH ABOUT THIS COMPANY. I HAD PROBLEMS AFTER THE INSTALL WITH MY HOA. I HAD TO HIRE AN ATTORNEY TO FIGHT THE HOA. THEY CAME OUT MANY TIMES TO ALTER THIS AWNING. THIS PROCESS TOOK OVER A YEAR. I CANT COUNT HOW MANY TIMES THEY CAME OUT. THESE GUYS GET A++++++++++++ Any other company does not exist in my mind. I will only do business with Superior. If you knew what I know now, you would only do business with Superior too.

I had a patio cover installed in my backyard. A sales rep (Kyle) came to my home with some brochures and fabric samples, and explained my options. He emailed me a preliminary estimate, and offered to send me fabric samples. I ultimately decided to visit their showroom in Van Nuys to make a selection. | |A lead installer then came to my home to take detailed measurements. I received a final price for the work, and a date was set for the job (roughly a week or so later). Two installers came out at the appointed time, and the work was done in less than two hours. | |I was very pleased with the final results, and everyone I dealt with was quite courteous and professional. |

Great service and amazing product. I highly recommend them!

It went really well. They provided very good feedbacks during the first visit to measure and decide exactly what we wanted. They didn't push to buy more than necessary. The installation was done very professionally and the crew cleaned after. The awning is working perfectly so far and we are very happy!

Patti, the sales person, came out and did the initial measurements and helped with the paint/fabric selections. This was a relatively small job, but she took a serious interest in helping me make good choices. A few week later the install team showed up and did a perfect job. They are the best!!

We were very pleased with salesman Mike Munro who came out to explain the options and take measurements. He was pleasant and thorough. He even came back a second time when we changed the type of awning we wanted. Mike worked with us to get the price within budget. The installers arrived about 2 hours late after the scheduled time window, but were very polite and worked until 7 PM to complete the job. Very good experience overall, especially when compared to other companies which we had asked to bid the job. Would definitely use them again.

Hired Superior Awning on a simple project involving six, 3' x 4' metal awnings on a single story residence. The final installation is excellent, but, it took 8 hours over seven days to complete! 4 hours after arriving 1-hour late and subsequently having lunch on "my time", the 2 installers finally got 2-1/2 units up which allowed me to see that they were not the awnings I ordered. They checked the order against the installed units, called the office, and told me that someone would be back ?tomorrow? morning with the correct units ~ And left??? ?Tomorrow? came and nobody showed or called so I had to call the office and was told (w/o a clear explanation why) that it would take a week to return with the correct awnings. They returned a week later and after another 4 hours this simple job was completed. They probably didn't make a profit with their screw up but they did charge my credit card the instant I authorized final payment to the installers as they drove off. But nobody has yet to call with an explanation, apology, etc ~ Not even the original salesman. It's like my project never existed. Since I was not in any hurry and I did eventually get the awnings I wanted, my only concern for other using Superior Awnings would be: Is this how they treat their small customer or is this the norm for all their clients?

I am happy. They were punctual and I will use them again.

Excellent service from the salesman to the customer service on the phone to the installation service guys. Everything done quickly and on time. Would definitely recommend Superior Awning. Plus the awning comes with a great warranty.

Initially, the salesperson was very eager and responsive. He was professional and personable. I picked out the colors and valance design easily. There were questions about the height and pitch which delayed construction. It was then that he took time getting back to me. In fact, he seemed more interested on moving on to the next job, but thankfully the installers made up for the final product. The day of construction was HOT. The installers were pleasant, professional, and worked hard never complaining. Very respectful and clearly knew what they were doing. The result was amazing. Unfortunately when the first rains arrived, we found the pitch wasn't enough and the water pooled on top. I called Superior who arranged an appointment day convenient for me, two days later after work. They arrived, same workers who installed it, and this time it was COLD. Again, they worked happily and efficiently in the dark. So impressed. Everyone who has seen my backyard with this beautiful awning say they wished they could sit there all day. It's just like being at a resort. I would definitely recommend Superior Awning.

My first contact was with Dennis on 08/27/2012. He was very patient and made all the measurements and some good suggestions. Partial payment was sent via e-mail on 8/31/2012. I did not hear from anyone for weeks after the partial payment, which made me think I had made a terrible mistake. So at the beginning of October, I called, and I was told that the graphic artist was backed up, and they were going to be working on my case soon. I told them they should have called to let me know. Then finally my dealings with the graphic artist was via e-mail only. He seemed irritated with me with some of his replies, when we were going back and forth, but I ignored it and passed it off as my perception. The installation crew was very good, and the job was completed on 11/05/2012

After getting the construction contract and charging the 50% downpayment that they require to a credit card, we made an appointment to begin the project. The workers were half a day late and to find out that it was only the driver who has proper identification. Since they will be working in a restricted area, we had to send the workers back to their office and reschedule. We called their office to state the issue and asked to send workers with proper identification next time. Instead of apologizing for the inconvenience, the lady on the phone had an attitude. Like the first time, the workers were very late again on the agreed time however the work was completed the same day. The driver did not leave any invoice or document that the work had been completed. After few weeks, I sent an email to the company requesting to email me the invoice. We never got a response and after a month we discovered that they made an unauthorize charge to the credit card (used for downpayment) for the remaining balance. I called the company again about this and decided not to dispute the charge but requested to at least send us the final invoice for our records.I thought this company is very unprofessional from scheduling, sending undocumented workers and dealing with administrative staff. I will never ever recommend this company to anybody. As a member, I am surprised to see them on Angie's List!

I explained this to the manager, I also shared the review at the time thought was yelp. He then ranted about yelps worthiness. Next I did remember it was Angie's list. I explained the review I read was not yelp but Angie's. He had no comment other than lets move on, from that point on he wanted to get the awning done. I think there is a distinct communication disconnect from the office to the field. This causes issues with communication misunderstandings and also uncertainty by the customer. I mention it in hopes the OWNER gets to the bottom of it and fixes it. I felt as if they were in competition with each other and as a result both kept calling for the same thing and ultimately information was mismanaged. Glad its over

Everything was perfect from our first meeting to advise on options and colors. The sizes and fittings were perfect and the awning itself moves back and forth on the cable and also ties for our high winds up here (we're near and overlooking the ocean). We had a little problem because of the winds of the cables staying in place, but they immediately came out and fixed that. Beautiful work! Totally Professional! Good value for the quality. Highly recommend.

I was going to give this company a 'D.' It is sad that one sales person who represents the company could ruin the reputation for the whole company. Because of the sales person I worked with, just about everything went wrong. He was a typical example of get-the-money-and-move-on kind of sales person. Then I worked directly with the office. Tara, who took over my order, made sure I was satisfied as a customer. She talked to her manager and waived some fees for me due to the invonveniences I had to go through. The awning was installed yesterday. The crew came back a couple of times so they can re-adjust their pre-fab frame. The awning looks stunning. No complains. I would like to thank Tara, and the office people who worked with me very patiently until I was satisfied, and also their hard working crew.

Dennis gave us the estimate; he was friendly and helpful. His was the second estimate we got but he mentioned that our existing awning could be repaired which lowered the price from the previous estimate. Otherwise the estimates were nearly identical. The installers were prompt, the fabric was too large for the replacement awning and they came the next day with the modified fabric. The installers did leave small debris behind and broke some pottery. Other than that, the installation went well.

It went really well. The cost of the service was $3200. They were really professional and the guy that came out and did the measurements and talked to me was very professional. He is a veteran salesman. They showed up and just did a good job and it is just really good. It was nice and it went so smoothly. I felt that we got our money’s worth.
