He showed up earlier than promised, which got me to work quicker. I asked him to snake the clothes washer drain while he was there and he didn't charge me an extra. Hot water heater was fully functional when I returned home.

Reckon plumbing reminds me that good customer services is still out there; you just have to find the right companies that care about their customers. They were prompt, professional and Victor, the plumber, could not have been nicer. He explained everything and took care of the problem. I will certainly use them again and have already reccomended them to friends. I'm not a guy who usually goes out of his way to leave reviews but when a company is this good, I have to go out of my way to make sure other people know. Glen

Repair was completed in 20 minutes. Was told that it was $78 for an estimate and not there was a minimum charge of $225. Not happy that I didn't know that before I agreed to the estimate. Will not use them again. Not my experience of working with other Angie's list contractors.

I was very happy with Reckon & Reckon's work. After speaking with two individuals by phone about my options, I decided to simply replace my existing 40-gallon gas water heater with another one. The plumbers who came to my home were friendly, arrived promptly, worked quickly, took away my old unit, and left no mess. I was happy with the price, and I will definitely call them again for future plumbing needs. The only slight problem was that it took too long to get a call back when I first contacted them. I called on Tuesday afternoon and no one called me back until Thursday morning. For a problem like no hot water, I feel like a call back the next day should be the minimum standard. Wednesday evening I came very close to giving up and hiring someone else. (But ultimately I'm glad that I didn't.)

It went very well. Rufus Williams came and fixed the sink pretty easily. He was knowledgable, professional, and very courteous. We will definitely have this company back again. It nice to know that we have someone we can count on.

Great. Reckon called Leak Detector. Leak Detector found leak. Reckon rerouted pipes through ceiling. Done very fast.

Michael was a pro and got the parts needed to make the job work.

We were desperate to find someone who could fix/replace our hot water heater over the weekend because a weekend of cold showers is not fun. We decided to try a new plumber since our usual guy wasn't available at short notice. Reckon sent someone out Saurday morning. He looked at the unit and gave me 3 estimates... Repair, replace, or major upgrade (tankless). I had already decided I wanted to upgrade to a tankless system but unfortunately my house is so old that it was going to cost almost double the price of a simple replacement to change the gas line and wiring. I chose to simply replace my 14 year old water heater with a new unit. The plumber had the unit with him and had it installed within an hour. By the time he left we had hot water again. Very happy with the service especially considering they did the work on the weekend. It's always a challenge to get plumbing fixed on the weekend... So I was very happy to find them.

It turned out fine. He did professional work, was very helpful and especially was a little less expensive.

We're very pleased with our experience with Reckon & Reckon Plumbing. An old copper drain pipe from the toilet was leaking in the crawl space under the house. Another plumber told me the pipe was cracked and would have to be replaced which would also require removing and later reinstalling the toilet. He quoted me a much high price. Victor an his assistant arrived on time. When I arrived they've already seen the problem. Victor recommended repairing the copper pipe. After soldiering over holes where the leaks were strong, two lesser leaky holes were revealed. Soldering over those stopped the leaks. Victor also changed a leaky flapper kit in the toilet. They worked efficiently and completed the work well within the time frame.. The communication is excellent. I appreciated their professionalism and Victor's no pressure approach and answering my questions. The communication and planning with Claris at the office, was excellent. Setting up the appointment when the tenants are in the house took a few hours and a few phone calls. I used an Angie's List $30 coupon.

Outstanding. I am very reluctant to change service providers and I have used the same plumbers for years. I had called my regular plumber regarding a shower knob that had stopped working. They did not have the right tool to take the stem out of the wall, since it is an unusual size. They said they would try to find one and come back the next day but could not guarantee that they would be able to find it. I called Reckon & Reckon and every interaction (setting appointment and interacting with the the plumber) was so professional. Michael was polite, transparent with respect to pricing, and did not attempt an up-sell even when I asked some questions which might have led to additional work. They arrived within the window and repaired the shower within a couple of hours of their arrival, including a trip to Santa Monica and back for a part. Great experience. I will use them again.

As soon as they entered garage, they diagnosed it as just sewer gas coming up from a dry sink trap. They ran a little water in the sink, and the smell was eliminated. I thanked them for their expertise. There was no charge beyond the bargain Angie's List price for the service call.

My expectations were exceeded from the moment I picked up the phone and called them. As it turned out Steve Reckon answered the phone himself. He was professional, courteous and knowledgeable. He was able to send Michael out the same day, within the hour as it turned out, to check our bathroom. Michael ran his tests and narrowed down the location quickly to our shower. He recommended - but did not insist on - checking the toilet to exclude the small likelihood the toilet was the problem. I agree to that and the reasonable additional fee involved. It was the shower and he gave me excellent guidance about how to proceed with the needed repairs. The charge for this, with the added fee for the toilet, was comparable to multiple other respected testing companies for the leak detection service alone. If that wasn't enough, Steve called me the next day to see how the job went, make sure I was satisfied and answer any questions I had. Both when I call initially and when he called in follow up, Steve was an excellent source of information regarding the plumbing issues involved. Suffice it to say, I will glad call him and his company if the need arises.

Verbally quoted $2k, but got them down to $1,500 after I told them I had another quote for $1,500 (which I did). Did not use these guys as my regular plumber completed the job in 2 hours for $800 to the exact spec that these folks were quoting.

Mike assessed the situation and gave us an estimate with a discount because we used Angie's list. That was nice and unexpected. They had to replace a four-foot section of the water main. They finished the job in about an hour, and cut the price again. Mike said he charged less than the estimate because the job took less time than he anticipated. We put Reckon and Reckon in our contact list for the future. These guys are professional, friendly and honest.

Terrible. My wife was given a window of 10-2 for the appointment. A 2 person crew from Reckon & Reckon showed up in the time window. They were courteous. My wife showed them the two items to replace. 1) They charged her $185 to turn the water off at the street and replace the hose bibb. Luckily, she had a $30 off coupon from Angie's List which they honored; 2) With respect to the replacement of the gate valve they gave us an estimate of at least $450 to replace this piece with a ball valve. The water was already turned off. It was a simple matter of unscrewing the connection and putting a new valve in. A little tricky given the threads, but not $450+ tricky. Especially for a licensed plumber with the right tools. We obviously did not have them replace the gate valve. Instead, we got hosed (couldn't help the pun) for $155 to replace a screw on hose bibb. I hope the fact that they were dealing with my wife and/or our location (La Canada Flintridge) didn't have anything to do with the pricing. I have specifically stuck to using contractors off Angie's List who have positive reviews to avoid this type of thing and have been lucky to deal with honest service providers in the past. They contacted the factory for the part, had it shipped, and installed it. They charged less than originally quoted. They were very professional and very tidy.

It went great. They were prompt, knowledgeable, and professional. Michael, our plumber, was very gracious. We had to work in conjunction with the HOA's plumber and we had to wait FOREVER for them.

Great. The two-man crew arrived on time, were polite and friendly, and did the work efficiently. The price was reasonable. I could not be happier with this company and will definitely use them again in the future.

The kitchen sink got stopped up. He brought a snake and wound it through. Another occasion, one of the toilets in one of my bathrooms shifted a little bit and there was a tiny bit of water leakage that happened because it was loose to the ground. We had to call someone to come. They charge a flat fee of $250 but was kind of, basically, not in so many words he said, look, in order for us to come there, we'll basically automatically charge that. I said, doesn't it depend on what the problem is? He said, we don't want to do anything but these standard procedures. I said that might be good for general but if we have a very specific problem that doesn't get addressed by your standard procedure then that money will be wasted. He acknowledged that but then gave some answer on why it had to be that. We were desperate so we went with them. Frankly, I don't know what it compares to other pricing for that same job, but they had to lift the toilet up off the ground and they had to loosen the bolts that are attached to the ground. Apparently that and reattaching it to the ground in and of itself cost had a labor cost associated with it. They had to reattach it to the ground with some kind of grout or some material around the base of the toilet.

Arrived on time, after calling to verify our location and let us know when, within the appointment window, they would get here. Michael quickly diagnosed the problem and gave us a reasonable estimate -- actually, a range based on what they could and could not see before they went into the mud under the house. Final cost was nearer the low end of that range, and very competitive based on my earlier research. Michael showed us the pipe (whoever installed it years ago did not solder it, just two ends of cheap pipe overlapped and not sealed). They worked fast, solved our problem, cleaned up after themselves and went on their way. Very professional, friendly, personable and very competent. Will definitely call them next time we need a plumber.

First thing to mention. They gave me a time window and called that morning to ask if they could come earlier, which for me was fantastic. They showed up on time, did a great job, did exactly what they needed to do and no more. One of the best experiences I've ever had with a plumbing company.
