The Good: Reckon and Reckon (RR) provided quality and speedy service to address a leaking water line under the slab of my house. Unlike some dishonest plumbers, RR didn't say that they had to jackhammer my slab to repair the water line which would have cost anywhere between $3000-$4000. Michael, the lead plumber, was able accurately assess the issue and provided a reroute plan for the water line that didn't require digging up any concrete. The Bad: This is more of an assessment of the industry not necessarily RR, but for work I think should have cost about $600-$700, I was charged $1000. In General, plumbers know that they have some leverage when a person has plumbing issues. That leverage includes a premium to be paid. Conclusion: Yes, I think I paid a few hundred dollars more than I thought the work entailed. But, I am happy with RR's work to re-route the water line and they didn't try to blatantly try to rip me off. There are two ways to look at this. You pay a little more for good work or the plumbing industry does take advantage of property owners. With RR, the work and honest assessment of the issue is worth paying a little more for.

The two guys from Reckon & Reckon (a plumber and an assistant) came a few week earlier to fix some leaky valves in both the master and guest baths and toilets in both baths. They fixed the guest bath but had to order parts for the master bath and toilets. The toilets needed a washer (about 4" diameter) for the flapper / flush ball. The parts came in and they scheduled an appointment. They arrived on time. When the arrived, they informed us that they could not get the washer alone for the toilet that it only came as a full flapper / flush ball unit and that they did have those complete units. They told us that they would cost $100.00 per toilet installed. They suggested that the washer at the bottom of the complete unit might also be bad, or might go bad and told us this was the best option. We agreed based on the information they gave us. They did the work quickly. They cleaned up after themselves nicely. We did ask them to adjust the angle on one sink valve and tighten the spout on a sink, which they did. All the sinks and toilets worked perfectly. They repeatedly asked us if there was anything that we were unsatisfied with. They said they were very conscious of their rating on Angie's List and wanted to make sure we were satisfied. We told them we were completely satisfied. One side note; As we had asked them to get 4 washers for the 2 toilets, so we would have spares should this part fail again, we went online to see if we could find the toilet washers. I didn't compare price with others. I believe you get what you pay for. Reckon was highly recommended here on Angie's List and for a good reason.Quality work, tidy and prompt. Victor and Andrew did the job.Well done guys!

Everything went very well. When we noticed that our sprinkler system had sprung a leak and some of the sprinklers were on; we turned off water to the house. I searched on Angie's List under Lawn Irrigation. We called Reckon & Reckon. Victor responded within a few minutes and said he would be here within an hour. He knew what the problem was immediately upon observing after we turned the water back on. He went to his truck to see if he had the needed part and, fortunately, he did. He promptly replaced the faulty part and tested the system. Victor was very businesslike and polite and explained everything and patiently answered my questions. I had printed our a $30 discount coupon from Angie's List so the total cost of the job was reduced from $325.00 to $295.00. The breakdown was $160.00 for the sprinkler actuator and $165.00 for labor minus the $30.00 coupon. We received a very nice thank you note, business card, magnet, and referral card a couple of days later. Everything has been working perfectly since Victor was here.

Called Reckon this morning and inquired about sending a plumber out for leak fro a shower into my kitchen. They were able to fit me in that day and the ;umber arrived within the time window they provided. They were nice and professional and gave me the diagnosis of my problem. There was no charge for the visit. The plumber indicated if I saw the leak again to call them back and they would come back out and re-assess the problem. The did advise what they would do next and what the approximate price would be. Overall nice and professional and would use them again

My husband said the plumber arrived on time. The quote was much higher than from another company.

Prompt, professional, and courteous service. Used them on two separate occasions for rather minor fixes, have no complaints about either service.

I scheduled an appointment for an estimate and Michael arrived on time with an assistant. He quickly surveyed the property's plumbing and provided an estimate that seemed reasonable for the replacement of a water pressure regulator as well as some miscellaneous leaking fixtures. Michael went to pick up some needed parts while his assistant quickly completed the installation. The service was fast and they were both very friendly. Unfortunately, we found that the tub fixture was not installed properly; I called the offices and Steve sent Michael out to fix at no charge. Steve continually followed up until the project was completed to my satisfaction.

We called about a leaky pullout extension hose on the kitchen faucet but he discovered that both the cold and hot water lines were leaking. He replaced the kitchen faucet and both the hot and cold water shut-off valves. He did an excellent job and we are very pleased. We have used this plumbing company before but had tried others because we thought they were a bit pricey. This time we thought they were reasonably priced.

at 4:20 pm this afternoon it was brought to my attention that the drain in the upstairs shower was completely blocked up--so badly that it was backing up from one of the other bathrooms - yuck! - I have seen Reckon & Reckon trucks around town, so knew the name but had never used them before. Based on the positive reviews here on Angies list, figured I'd give them a call - I liked that they weren't going to charge me extra for after-hours, unlike a few of the plumbers I checked into. They had someone here in 15 minutes. It was a very stubborn blockage, but ultimately he got it cleared out. Not only did he get it cleared out, but he cleaned everything up when he was finished. I was assuming I'd be stuck with the dirty job of cleaning the shower, the sink etc, but to my pleasant surprise, everything was sparkling clean and put back in it's rightful place. The gentleman who did the job was exactly that- a real gentleman. I liked that he looked clean and he was very polite. I will definitely call them again should we need a plumber in the future

I had two other plumbers who failed to show up and left me hanging. I called R&R thinking I would have to wait another week and they came that afternoon, on time. The service was very professional. I would highly recommend them and will use them the next time I need a plumber !

Overall pleased with service.

My husband was concerned that the line leading from the water heater leading out to the house was corroded and would start leaking. I called on Tuesday 03-05-2013 and was told the soonest they could get out to the house was first thing on Thursday. Thursday I called the office at around 9:15 and was told the guy was running late and would be at the house between 10 and 12. But probably closer to 10. At 11:15 I called the office and was told the guy was running late and would not be there before 12, could be as late as 1:00. The service man arrived a little after 12:00. He was polite, courteous and friendly. It took him less than 30 minutes to finish the job. I almost fell on the floor when he said the bill was $275.00 and he was giving me $65.00 off for being late. (the price was in place of the discount from Angie's list) I thought this was very expensive for a reality simple job lasting under 30 minute.

He arrived before scheduled appointment. He met the price quoted by another company. Even though his assistant was not with him, he completed the task quickly with only a little flooding.

I have a business and one of my employees broke a pipe. They sent a serviceman to a**** the damage and they gave me an estimate. It turned out that they had to make a second trip back the next day and did so without extra charges. They were very polite, professional and very reasonable in the pricing. I would definetly use them again

Victor and Hector did a good job and cleaned the area afterwards. They were half an hour late getting to my house but I got a call to let me know they were running late so it was no problem. Satisfied with the work they did.

My toilet is old and needed to be replaced. I purchased a brand new, low-flush unit at Lowes, complete with all parts inside. So, I called Reckon & Reckon after finding them here on Angie's List. They were highly rated. I spoke to someone at the office, and asked for a quote. They took down my number, and one of their plumbers called me back promptly. The plumber quoted me $185, including a discount offered via Angie's List. I told them that I wasn't expecting that much, and countered with $100. The plumber agreed, but under the condition that the work is to be performed on a Monday morning, when the plumbers are at their slowest. Also, that the fees might be higher should he discover that additional parts/repairs were needed. I was fine with that. This was on a late Thursday afternoon. He tells me to call the office back, and provide my address for the tentative appointment for the following Monday morning. Friday rolls around, and I was swamped and didn't get to call their office. I call on Saturday, and left a message with my address. I receive a call back on Monday morning (not from the same plumber, but possibly a clerk), and she asked if I wanted to reschedule as they were all booked that morning. I agree, and scheduled for the coming Friday afternoon. I assumed that she knew about the quote and what I have discussed with their plumber, so I didn't bring it all up. The week passes by... I did not receive any confirmation phone call, so I dialed the company the morning of the appointment. I asked if the appointment is still on, and if the price I was quoted by the plumber is still valid, and they said yes: "Whatever that was negotiated with the plumber stands." I simply assumed that their plumber had written down the $100 quote, but I was mistaken. One of their plumbers shows up, and was ready to start the job even before mentioning the fee. I asked if my quote still stands, and he says, "$200." I had a feeling that this was going to happen. Communication within this company broke down every step of the way. I disagreed, and told the plumber the whole story. He checked his notes in his clipboard, and calls his office, relays the $100 quote to them, and tells me that he and the office do not know which plumber quoted me that price. He also said that there was a quote of $200 written in the notes (origins of which dumbfounds me). Time and phone calls wasted in a major way. I would not recommend this company's services.

This is my third time hiring RECKON & RECKON. They called me as a follow up to the last service performed just when I needed to repair a kitchen faucet leak. Days later, they arrived on time as scheduled. I explained the leak and showed them the replacement parts I've already ordered from the faucet manufacturer. While his tech is doing the work, Victor asked if there is anything else I need him to check on. We did indeed find another problem which caused the faucets parts to break and leak easy. Victor explained the problem and suggested the solution, which is to replace the regulator. I wasn't planning on spending another $300, but he offered to waive the kitchen faucet repair if I replaced the regulator on the same service call, that is $175 of saving already, so I decided to do it. After the regulator was installed, they checked the water pressure, every faucet and toilet to make sure everything is working properly. They even replaced one of the toilet pumps for free. I didn't shop around for prices, but I know when I have Reckon & Reckon to work on my place, it is professional work and excellent service.

We did not use them because they took several days to respond to our phone message.

There are still some final touches to be done, but we are close enough to finishing the remodel of our master bath to where we could actually start using our new shower. The problem was that we could not get hot water from the shower faucet. Some people said it was a problem with the water heater, but we wanted to know for sure before we bought a new one. After carefully examining all the new faucets and the pipes that led to the shower, Victor discovered that there was some debris in the shower cartridge and cleaned it out. After he solved that problem and was about to leave, I asked if he would check the shower in a different bathroom where the water would get hot, but not hot enough. Victor agreed to check this without any problem. He asked to see the water heater and he turned the temperature up a bit. He also observed that a pump attached to the water heater was unplugged. He explained to me that the purpose of this pump is to help get the hot water to all parts of the house and after asking if I would like him to plug it in, he did. In addition to doing the work quickly and efficiently, the team from Reckon and Reckon offered me advice that would prevent future plumbing issues, for example, not to turn off the shower with the diverter between the shower head and the hand held shower. Even though the price was maybe a bit on the higher side, they did honor a $30 off coupon, and I feel that what I paid was worth it, because of their expertise and excellent service.
