Rory is competent and creative. She suggested several ideas for the closets. She even suggested a handyman for some of the other work we were considering. We didn't use Rory for this particular project because our house burned, but we could consider her without hesitation for any cabinetry in the future. She has a bright outlook and a can-do attitude.

I have nothing but good things to say about Heartwood Industries. They were prompt in replying to my inquires and timely in the set up of when the work could be done. Their prices are fair and reasonable. They were professional and competent. I highly recommend Heartwood Industries. A ++++

The project went excellent from beginning to end.

The project went well overall. Rory was very accommodating and customer orientated. The project took longer than originally contracted for, but part of that is to be expected because of design changes and problems that naturally arise.

Rory and her team were just amazing in creating our bookcase! She went out of her way to come to our house several times to answer questions, and provide insightful recommendations. Everyone in her company is very professional and meticulous, and they were very reasonably priced. They were always promptly on time and very careful.We couldn?t be happier with their work, and we recommend her and her team highly.

This was our second experience with Rory and Isaias at Heartwood, who had previously built a first prototype for us of a new fitness product which has the look of a small piece of furniture, called the Body Archer. They did an excellent job on the first prototype so we decided to have them build a second one with a darker finish on the wood. We were very pleased that this one came out even better than the first one. Isaias, who did all the woodwork, found several ways to improve the overall look of the product, and the finish is really beautiful and professional looking. Rory has a great "can do" attitude, she understood exactly what we were looking for, and Isaias followed through beautifully. We have since contracted with a furniture manufacturer for mass production of this product and Heartwood's beautiful prototypes made that possible. If they can do something this original their cabinet work has to be great! Thanks, guys!!

Rory and crew were super responsive. They came on time both for the estimate and the work appointment.They were quick, neat and professional. I would absolutely use them again and would not hesitate to recommend them to others.

Rory, Heartwood's owner and her partner, Isaias, did not disappoint. We supplied rough templates for the device we were prototyping, and they produced a beautiful sample of our product. Isaias even corrected some errors in the original measurements which would have rendered the prototype as less than perfect. So, the result was excellent and exactly what we were looking for. Our product also needed a padded and upholstered top so Rory recommended a shop for that, Morro Auto Interiors, also in Van Nuys, California, who did an equally excellent job, way beyond our expectations. They tailored the cushion top in a much better way than we had envisioned it. As others have already mentioned, Rory was great to work with. She has that really wonderful "can do" attitude and we appreciated that very much.

We came to Rory with a definitive take on what we wanted. She not only executed it beautifully, she brought great wisdom and experience to the process of re-doing our kitchen that allowed us to see a few errors in our initial thinking. We had interviewed 5 other cabinet makers - most of them with very big shops and overhead and interested in getting in and out of projects quickly (and not in a good way). Rory came to us through Angie's list and right away my wife was at ease with her experience and intelligence. Her bid was reasonable and although she doesn't provide the fancy computer-generated design of some of her competitors, the quality is there in the end: everything fits, matches and feels as if it was all done with great care - and for your particular space. Remember, you're gonna look at your kitchen for a long time to come - love everything about it, and with Rory you don't have to worry about saying to yourself: "Now why did the cabinet maker do that?" or "That was sloppy." It's been three months since she and her team finished and we're pleased with every inch of her work. Rory took on an enormous job and - for us - proved that quality crafts-people do, indeed, still exist.

Rory and her partner came and took the precise measurements and had all the items picked up and did the repair and alteration work at the shop and had them delivered on time and everything was done exactly the way was described and requested. I recommend them for every wood furniture work. I am planning to have them to make office book shelves and a corner cabinet.

Rory, who is the owner and designer of Heartwood, came to my home and discussed what I had in mind. She drew up plans, offered ideas for details like the size of different drawers, various options for increasing work space by including numerous pull out shelves, and, options for the nature and appearance of the final staining. She kept me informed of the status during production and she was ready to deliver all the pieces for installation ahead of anticipated schedule. She was, throughout the process, my advocate, including supervising every step of the installation process. I will be using Heartwood for upcoming projects.

They did an outstanding job! We had an area near our kitchen where we wanted an area for sitting, eating, etc. The Heartwood team designed a beautiful piece of furniture that they installed in the area. The piece is unique but matches the rest of our kitchen nicely. It has a durable finish which is appropriate for the amount of use. Service was solid. They responded quickly to our request for a quote, had great ideas, came up with a reasonable estimate and did the job exactly as explained. Would definitely use them again for any custom wood projects.

Currently getting proposals from Heartwood on kitchen remodel. When I was told they were now on Angie's List, I decided to write a report on a prior job. We did a remodel of our family room about 20 years ago. Last year, we hired Heartwood to design and install a 6' x 8' section of the existing wall unit which included new (1) upper exposed shelves, (2) lower shelves with doors and (3) closed beverage storage cabinet to meet our current needs. The trick was to perfectly match the remaining 6' x 8' original section which held the other storage sections. The moulding was no longer available. Heartwood milled the moulding to match the old. The final installation exceeded my expectation since it looked like the full 12" length had been done all at one time. Job well done. Very happy with the job.

Rory and her people at Heartwood paid attention to what I said and wanted. From the first meeting to completion they made me feel like this kitchen and the matching dining room cabinetry really mattered to them. They wanted to please me and they certainly did. I was a single guy at the time my cabinetry was built that cooked a lot and wanted a great kitchen. I found Heartwood Industries on the internet and made an appointment for them to come to my home. The owner, Rory, came on time with great enthusiasm and knowledge. I told her what we needed and she showed me photos for inspiration. The time from start to delivery was quicker than we expected. It was a pleasure doing business with such professionals and I highly recommend them.

I had heard that kitchen remodels were always a nightmare but this went extremely smoothly. Everything was completed on time, any unusual items were thoroughly explained so that I understood them. Every one who worked on my house was pleasant, thorough and professional. The project was an excellent experience and I wouldn't hesitate to use Heartwood again!
