We wanted to create a new kitchen cabinet for the refrigerator that would also house a pull-out pantry. Rory at Heartwood was prompt to respond to inquiries and after some initial discussion, was able to provide a sketch of the project. I was impressed with her attention to detail, including ancillary issues unrelated to the cabinet itself (making sure we knew to get water and plumbing moved for the refrigerator, taking into account the position of overhead lighting, etc). The project took about three weeks, which matched the estimate given at the beginning. The installation was fast and neatly done and the new cabinet is functional as well as aesthetically pleasing.

Splendidly! I could not have asked for a better outcome. The bookcase exceeded my expectations and is now the focal point of my small condo—Rory was wonderful ! Very professional but also an excellent communicator who gave me a rendering of the piece and explained how it would Be built. She always came at the promised time and called if a few minutes behind schedule— I truly appreciated this consideration as it is rare. She also created a cabinet above my refrigerator which completes the built In look of my kitchen and gives me much needed extra space- and it’s beautiful! Rory will alway be at the front of my Rolodex!!

Rory is absolutely amazing. She is kind, detail oriented, professional, helpful, and knows exactly what she’s talking about. Her crew was kind and professional as well. From top to bottom it was such a pleasant experience and I could not be happier with my bookshelf.

We love the result - it's exactly what we wanted. Rory took the time to do it exactly right down to every detail. It took a while from beginning to end - but I think it's because they are so busy with projects. So get your orders in now, I think it was worth the wait. Very professional, nice, approachable lady who I always felt comfortable talking with (usually not the case with these projects).

Rory Firestein and Heartwood Industries did an outstanding job on this project. Rory helped us to develop a design that worked well for our space and she listened to our needs and wishes. We are very satisfied with the final product. The cabinets are of terrific quality and look beautiful! Rory also helped with coordinating installation of a new countertop and other work in the kitchen remodel. The process of a kitchen remodel is always challenging, and we appreciated that Rory and her team helped to make it go as smoothly as possible.

Rory and team were delightful. We had a compatible and clear idea of the work to be done, the materials to be used, proposed functionality and overall look of the finished product. The closet and drawers look as though they have always been part of the room/house. The team was on time for appointments and listened to the full list of wants. Any questions or differing options that arose were reviewed on both sides and implemented accordingly. I have called upon them to do some minor tweaking (ie. door heights due to settling, additional drawer separators) which they have done with great aplomb. Rory was also kind enough to point me in the right direction to address other issues in my home. I look forward to working with them again.

Perfectly! The unit was built, delivered, and installed as promised. It looks great and fulfills all of the needs. The children love keeping their toys in the lower drawers. The unit makes the room a comfortable spot for watching television!

Couldn't have been better. The project completed on time. The results are truly beautiful. My daughter and her husband are very pleased with their amazing master bath.

The project went extremely well. Clean, neat, punctual. I was so pleased that I had a beautiful dining room table built which fits my dining room perfectly. I even had the opportunity to pick the wood which was used.

We first contacted Heartwood to just change the cabinets but we got help with the whole job. Rory was a great help in finding the right appliances, painters, and flooring, and was on top of all the installation till the end. If we have any more work we would not hesitate to hire them again.

I started off wanting built-ins for a breakfast nook in my kitchen. I looked up several providers and Rory was the first to respond to my email. She was also the only one who offered to come out, assess the project, and submit a bid without asking for money upfront. Rory was a delight to work with. And it really was a collaboration. She listened to my concerns and was diligent about trying to figure out how to meet my needs and get me exactly what I wanted. The work was flawless. Exactly as I imagined, exactly as described and blueprinted. I was so impressed that I immediately asked her to do another custom piece of furniture for me. Which of course turned into a third request from me. Another wonderful thing about Rory is she is creative and had fantastic suggestions for practical concerns. And the furniture makers she works with are really talented. Their work is impeccable.

Rory did an amazing job of overseeing our kitchen / laundry room remodel. She had creative ideas but also allowed for my input and ideas. The cabinets are absolutely stunning and the work didn't stop there. She help coordinate every detail with patients, thoughtfulness and gave outstanding customer service! Rory created the kitchen / laundry room of my dreams!

I can't recommend Rory highly enough. This is my fifth kitchen remodel in my life and nothing has ever come close to this level of professionalism. My kitchen is not only beautiful but more functional than I ever dreamed possible. Rory always went the extra mile to work out each detail. No detail was too small for her attention and time. even though she builds cabinets, she got involved in the choosing and purchasing of all of the appliances. She offered many new ideas for things I would not have known about. In the end I have a gorgeous, highly functional, efficient showplace kitchen. I could not be happier. As an interior designer I have the highest standards for my clients, it is crucial that I work with the best of the best and that is Heartwood Industries. I have had the privilege of working with Rory on several projects and every time the product she and her team deliver far exceed my expectations. I am a huge advocate for supporting local businesses. Heartwood takes great pride in their craft. They are always accommodating, on schedule, fair, and professional. I won?t use anyone other than Heartwood for my custom furniture and cabinetry needs.

All workers were great. The two technicians were on time and very professional. I was impressed with the corner protectors that they used while manuvering their air hoses around the house. Great experience. Considered our requests, worked as much as possible around problems in bathroom. They were finished in less than 4 hours. I would use them again.

Rory and her team were great from the beginning to the end. Her suggestions were very helpful, her team created the pieces quickly and everything looks great once it was installed. On the kitchen cabinet, I had originally wanted to go with 2 deep pull-out drawers but Rory suggested we go with 3 - a shallow top drawer followed by an normal sized 2nd drawer followed by a deep bottom drawer. It was the perfect suggestion to maximize storage space. We also need to match the color of the existing cabinets and the Heartwood team was able to do this with no problem. For the custom media cabinet, we have a non-square living room and we needed a cabinet that would fit in a corner with a 60 degree angle. The cabinet needed to fit perfectly but it also needed to accommodate all of my A/V equipment while providing enough ventilation so the equipment wouldn't overheat. The final product was perfect - it looks great while also providing all of the functionality we needed. This was my first experience buying custom furniture and the experience with Heartwood makes we want to commission all types of bespoke wood products in the future.

Rory came to our house and discussed our needs. She was exceptionally helpful in clarifying our choices and presented several different designs. She advised us on the benefits of different types of wood and finishes. The end result was superb! We are very satisfied and her work exceeded our expectations. I found them through Angie's List. Rory Firenstein, the contact, was very professional. She and the company that I chose to go with were neck and neck. She was creative, enthusiastic and energetic. She had great ideas and was very flexible. She went back and forth with our ideas, changes and plans. They both delivered exactly what we wanted but we chose the other company because of their price. I went to her shop and looked at the door that she had built for other people and it was pretty topnotch. We did not even hesitate to use her. I could definitely see myself using her in the future and recommending her.

We spent months trying to find a wall unit to fill a large, blank wall in our living room. Our home lacked basic storage for books, special family memorabilia, and display areas for a collection of California pottery. All were relegated to a few shelves in the dining room, stacks, and boxes- not a pretty sight. We finally faced reality and started interviewing custom cabinet woodworkers. Heartwood Ind. definitely stood out from the rest. Rory was right on time for our first meeting, subsequent design and planning session, to final installation. We felt that she truly listened to what we wanted and offered creative/functional design suggestions that we did not even think of. This was the first time we had a custom piece of furniture built and despite Rory's superb communication skills, it felt a little like building a rocket ship in a garage. Well, we are thrilled to say, when it was time to launch the "rocket ship"' it not only flew, but it soared! Heartwood created a wall unit that truly exceeded our expectations. It is absolutely beautiful! Rory came to our house when the wall unit was installed and everything went smoothly. We were impressed by their attention to detail- made sure the self-closing doors and drawers closed properly and spent extra time adjusting one door so that it met their high standards. The crew vacuumed up and left everything clean. Any problems? Just one...thinking of the next project to have Rory work with us on :)

Rory and Heartwood came back to my residence to make several repairs to my recently installed bar. The defects in the bar and bar top were not a result of poor workmanship or anything under the direct control of Heartwood, but were the result of wood acclimating to the room and environment the bar was in. Additionally some of the glue that was used on the inlay on the bar top became ineffective and began to bubble. This was a result of a manufacturer defect. Rory and Heartwood were very apologetic for the problems and redressed the issues promptly and professionally. This involved resurfacing one drawer and re-hanging one door (along with refinishing both). It also involved a completely new inlay for the bar top and it's reapplication (as well as refinishing the top). They took complete responsibility for the repairs and performed them in good time. The bar is now as functional and beautiful as the day it was originally delivered. All repairs were done without charge. It was a pleasure working with Heartwood from beginning to end, including all adjustments and repairs after the date of instillation.
