AG Heating & Air Conditioning

Very well. Everyone i have encountered from AG has been polite, helpful and knowledgeable. I plan to use them to install another system in my second home.

AG had installed a new condenser in April, 2013. When the hot weather hit, the air conditioner didn't cool the air. They came out and immediately diagnosed the problem and ordered a new condenser and installed it. There was no charge at all. The condenser and labor were free. Kirt handled this problem and was so nice on the phone, and explained everything well, and got the condenser out as fast as possible. Really nice to deal with a company that stands behind their warranty.

They arrived early and did a great prep with, throw cloths and plastic, installed everything and did a thorough cleaning when they finished.

Had an appointment for this work to be done May 15th and the day before they canceled it. Then I scheduled them for May 22 at 12:00 to 2:00. Since I didn't get a call from them, at 2:10 I called them and said where are you. Then they said they would be out between 2:00 and 4:00. They did not come out until 4:45. When they came out they were respectful of the house and did the job, and were very polite. Last night my husband, in the middle of the night, noticed some small reflections on our high beam ceilings. We finally concluded that it was coming from the vents, which are about 4 feet from the top of the ceiling. My husband had to crawl up into the attic. and he found that the light had not been turned off, since AG Heating was out. Nobody had been up in the attic since then, but AG. I was very disappointed about everything that happened. I have used AG about 6 times, and also had them come out to our other property to replace the condenser and coil last month. They have always done a good job and have always been on time. Since I've never had bad service from them before, I would use them again, in hopes that this was some unusual occurrence for them and were experiencing some sort of difficulty during this time.

as we left Home Depot one day there was an AG Heating & Air rep sitting outside with a special checkup price of $85 for a 25 point inspection. We decided to do it and couldn't have been happier with the young man (Leo Cruz) that came to service our Lennox heat & AC system. We knew up front that if he found anything wrong we'd need to pay more. I feel we were lucky with only an extra $150 after all the maintenance neglect. (again 6 yrs ago) The only problem was a small clog up in the AC's PVC evacuation pipe which he fixed for $150 extra & it took some time. Our main unit is in the attic which is not easy to get to....he needed to climb up on top of our washing machine & use the in-the-wall 2 x 4's as steps to enter the hole in the ceiling to get to it. He did need to bring in special blow-out equipment. He blew it out, re glued the pipe & all the rest was good. Leo patiently answered our many questions & was VERY knowledgeable! I spoke with the office to give Leo kudos & was told that their whole team of workers have weekly learning & update sessions. As I read the other reviews here I truly believe that. The only thing that cause me a bit of a problem was that when I paid by my Credit Card from my home I wasn't told it would show up as Home Depot on my bill. That caused me to cancel my CC & get a new one when I didn't connect the two. This is my first post to Angie's List & I think it's important to make GOOD reports as well as bad ones. I WILL use AG Heating & AC again. Do not hesitate to use this company. I must add that I had called the company that did the original installation back in 2004 & they charge more for their "checkups" even with the coupon mailings they send.

They initally came for a diagnoses and Ben was very good at explaining everything and diagnosing the problem. The day of the work they came on time. They were very careful and respectful of the house and cleaned up well. They said it would take 4 to 6 hours to do the work and the estimate of the time was accurate.

Great in punctuality, professional installation, clean work and most important done in one day. Great service.

This was the only company that provided me with an estimate on the spot. I had to wait several days to a week for the other bidders to provide an estimate. Dave Molina advised of issues that could come up in the permitting process. Once I called AG Heating & Air to accept the bid they scheduled the installation in 2 days. Dave Monlina cofirmed prior to installation there were no issues in the permitting process. The installation was completed in one day. They were prompt (5 minutes early), discussed my concerns - access, where I wanted the different components located etc. ... They respected my property and cleaned up after themselves. They followed up with scheduling a convenient time to have a meeting with the county inspector, their representative and me for sign off on the installation. It could not have been a more pleasant experience.

Janet took care of me right away and got 2 techs out to my house w/i an hr. Drew (the tech) was very professional, on time and courteous. The new motor had to be ordered and he installed it at 8am the next day. (my units really old-had to be ordered)

I live in West LA, so don't need my air conditioning much -- but of course it went out on the hottest day in years, when it was 99 degrees. I called AG (or AZ, see above) based on the Angie's reviews. The phone operator was extremely polite & took down my request in a lot of detail, including that my attic access is in my closet, right between the silk shirts. The guy (Andrew) showed up as scheduled (actually, an hour early, but he called for permission) the following day, which surprised me given this was the midst of a major heat wave. He was very courteous & whipped out shoe protectors before stepping inside. It turned out the problem was basically a clogged filter & a tripped circuit breaker because of power overload. I can certainly flip a breaker once in awhile, but he said they'd seen a lot of problems with power surges, given the DWP's scramble to keep up with demand & other issues. According to Andrew, repeated surges can dramatically shorten the life of your system. I had no basis on which to evaluate this other than the positive Angie's reviews, so had him go ahead & install a dedicated surge protector. I've since searched online, & the jury seemed to be out on whether it's really necessary in an area without lightning storms. But there were also people who said their systems had been fried in a single surge. Andrew didn't charge for the $99 service call given that he did other work. He also took a lot of time to explain what he was doing & why. He seemed to be very competent; my only hesitation was that there was a lot of emphasis on upselling. Maybe $2500 worth of duct work would be a nice thing, or $500 to clean the pine needles out of my compressor, or $200/year for preventive maintenance. But it seems like a lot for a unit that doresn't get used much. Bottom line: I'd highly recommend them; just be prepared for the upsell.
