We needed to move our storage from one wet/leaking garage to another unit and ASAP before the rainstorm hit. We have quite a few delicate items and weren't sure who to call to handle this job. We almost drove over to Home Depot to find help there but instead decided to go with an Angie's List recommendation :-) So, I called up the Sunshine Boys and spoke with the owner Richard, what a pleasant business man. We needed help first thing in the morning and our helpers Jake and Steve arrived early with a smile on their faces ready to work. It was such a pleasure to do this dirty dusty job with such sweet hardworking fellows. They followed directions to a T and also had some really good "mover's advice" to share so that our things wouldn't get broken in their new home/storage.

Richard and his guys are the real deal. They are absolutely the best! What could have been a very agonizing experience was bearable only because of the cheerful work ethic of these men. Nothing was too much to ask. They not only loaded and moved all of our belongings, but when they unloaded the furniture, they set it all up for us too. They absolutely know what they are doing. Everything was packed carefully and after two truckloads were unloaded, nothing was missing or broken. If you want quality service with a smile, call Richard and his "boys". You cannot go wrong! I am so glad that I found them.

Wow. Richard and his guys were super. I was nervous about hiring a mover because of all the horror stories I have heard. Based on the reviews on Angie's List I decided to go with Sunshine Boys and I'm glad I did. There were 6 guys who showed up to move us (2 bedrooms, an office, living-room and den) and they had everything loaded out in 90 minutes! Nothing was mishandled, nothing broken. They were even cool about driving a few large items that I wanted to donate to a store and drop them off on their way to my new house. The most surprising thing was that when it was time to pay, Richard informed me that it took less time than estimated and charged me LESS!

It was a chaotic affair (our fault entirely) but Richard and his two mates were wonderful! They all had a high positive energy and were gracious with our dithering around wondering what would fit in the guest unit and what wouldn't. We really appreciated their flexibility and the fact they pitched in and helped us pack up books and went the extra mile in helping us out, especially when we would change our minds about where certain pieces of furniture should go. Thanks Richard, if you are reading this--we really appreciate you guys!

I am a young girl moving into a single apartment in a not totally crime-free neighborhood and my complex is FAR from secure so I was a little nervous about just hiring anyone. I checked Angie's List for someone with only A and higher ratings and picked the one who had the most reports and who's personal reviews were best. I e-mailed Richard and can not be happier. Not only did I feel he was honest, kind and safe, but I appreciate that Jake, the guy he brought with him, seemed to be a friend and therefor trustworthy as well - I have heard many horror stories (and excuses) about movers. When I spoke to Richard he warned me that my job was small and I was likely to find a cheaper rate, but that clinched it for me. Their price was competitive with those of other complainers and you simply cannot put a price on personality, honesty, kindness and safety. They even arrived tired from a previous job and it didn't have an effect on them at all. I cannot give them a high enough rating. PICK THEM

The guys arrived on-time and started immediately. They had a great truck and the proper moving gear/pads/boxes etc. I will use them again. Much better than some friends and a borrowed truck!

They did a great job. On time, cost exactly as quoted. Friendly, careful and efficient.

Scheduled a few weeks in advance. Richard came up with a great bid. He advised us to pack and box as much as possible. The day came and the guys showed up promptly at 9 am. I think it was five guys (including Richard). Some large items included a vintage stove, fridge, and a treadmill. We had a lot of stuff in our garage too. Moving day is a really stressful day in one's life and these guys were really understanding; they were kind of paramedics who understand that the victim is freaked out; they made me feel relaxed and they actually seemed to enjoy the work. I felt comfortable letting them handle our possessions. Richard is really a good fellow. All in all, it was about as good an experience as it could be.

Without a glitch, went extremely well. Richard communicates very well over phone and email and was a pleasure to work with, as were his colleagues, Jake and Alex. Extremely competent, professional, fair-minded and positive attitude from whole team. Fast workers and careful. Very helpful and sweet.

Richard called me right back, and was able to get me in their schedule within the week. He said that the job sounded like it could be done in the 2 hour minimum, and they did. They were very quick, careful and savvy about getting tricky furniture out of tight spots. I wasn't even expecting them to deal with the remaining clothes in my closet or the small stuff in my storage unit, but they did it all. All in all I think that Richard and his team are wonderful and I would recommend them to anyone.

I contacted Richard based on his excellent reviews for a last minute move from Van Nuys to Encino. Although I was not able to use him due to conflicting schedules, I got a really good feeling from him. His quote was very reasonable ($95/hr for 3 men) and he seemed honest, knowledgeable and open to communication. We spoke several times over the course of a week as he was trying to fit us into his tight schedule. Never was he impatient or short with me as I would be interrupting a move. Should I have the need to hire some guys to move my furniture around, my first call will be to Richard.

I was apprehensive about the whole thing, but was most satisfied with the completed job. Everything was carefully wrapped and unwrapped and put back in place. They were perfect for what we needed.

This was a complicated game of "musical chairs" with refrigerators: Move new, but unwanted refrigerator from my kitchen cross town to my daughter's apartment, and pick up her existing refrigerator, and return to my downstairs rec room. This involved four staircases in the process. All was done with speed and care. I couldn't be more pleased!

Richard and his team performed an outstanding, complete, full-service move including packing, moving, and unpacking. Their team was great, good people and trustworthy. They endured cranky neighbors and limited parking with good humor. They listen, can work without supervision and can make the tactical decisions necessary to ensure a reduced stress move. They did a great job for a fair price.

I contacted Richard 3 weeks prior to my move to inquire about moving costs. I was impressed by the reasonable fees, so I scheduled for Sept 21st. Richard called the day before to confirm and called the day of the move to inform me that the crew would be delayed by a few minutes. His 4-person crew completed the job in 3-1/2 hours. This was the best crew of movers I have yet to experience, and I have hired 5 moving companies throughout my adulthood. They were professional, friendly, and competent.

They were amazing. They worked really hard and were quick in doing it. They were honest and the cost was right in the range of the quote.

THEY WERE VERY GOOD AND ENJOYABLE TO WORK WITH.

Two very capable movers arrived on time, very carefully moved large pieces of furniture up two flights of stairs, loaded additional furniture and boxes into a moving truck and then unloaded items and neatly stacked them in our storage unit. They were fast but careful not to scrape or damage new paint and railings we had recently installed in the stairwell. They were patient when we made minor changes. They finished the work within the minimum time as the owner had said they would. We would ask them to help us again, without hesitation.

They did a wonderful job. We have moved twice in the last year due to work and no one has come close to the job they did. They were better organized, arrived on time, completed the job within the estimated time, moved very difficult and expensive items carefully and successfully into a very awkward space, I couldn't be happier. I found the team to be sensitive to my concerns and not at all defensive when I had a suggestion which is unlike all other movers I spoke with who seemed offended when I questioned anything they were doing or made any suggestions. I highly recommend them!

Very well. We were on a tight budget, and when I told Richard this, he suggested an idea that saved us about $1,000. We were looking to rent a truck. He suggested ABF and even said we could call ABF directly and not even use him. We did call ABF directly. But we used him because he was so helpful and concerned about our particular situation. The switch from a truck to ABF saved us about $1,000 +/-.

I found them through Angie's List, then made the call. Richard was so nice and helpful right from the beginning. Because my work situation kept changing, I had to change the date a bunch of times. He was always just willing to work with me and fit me in. It took longer to drive the truck from Chicago than I anticipated, so I changed the date again, and again no problem. Then on the morning of the move, I had an accident in the truck just as Richard was calling to say they were on their way. I was still an hour from the sight. He and his men waited at my house. I offered to pay for his time but he said no worries, I was still in the three hour minimum they charged. When I got there finally they were all so nice and friendly. Richard's first words: "Welcome to California." After a really challenging move, and me being nearly an hour late, he only charged me for the extra half hour over the minimum. He was incredibly fair and prompt and professional through the whole thing.

There were 3 people doing the moving for me. They did show up on time and I thought they did a great job. Upon delivery of my stuff, nothing was damaged. They also placed everything exactly where I wanted it.

RICHARD AND HIS STAFF ARE EXCELLENT!! ARRIVED ON TIME AND HELPED ME LOAD DELICATE ANTIQUES AND OTHER ITEMS INTO ANOTHER AREA THAT IS TEMP CONTROLLED. AS ALWAYS, EXTREMELY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL, AS WELL AS BEING CAUTIOUS WITH OUR ANTIQUES. THEY ARE THE BEST MOVERS IN TOWN! IT WAS A VERY SMALL JOB, BUT THEY WERE GREAT IN THE WAY THEY DEALT WITH EVERYTHING.

It went very, very well. Richard and his guys were very professional, courteous and smart. Their unpacking, and new placement was evidence of this. We were able to do almost nothing, but oversee and guide the guys in the right direction. If you want a hands-free move, call Richard.

Not your average moving company. The Sunshine Boys (very appropriate name) are personable, easy to talk to, punctual, extremely professional and efficient. I would definitely hire them again.
