From the first phone inquiry to the company until the completion of the move, Sunshine Boys movers were professional, helpful, thorough, punctual, careful, neat, and courteous.

They were very good, when I was in California they packed the stuff and shipped it to the warehouse for storage. When I finally settled down 3 months later and my stuff arrived in 2 containers to Washington, I unpacked everything and I found out there were quite a few things missing. Almost nothing was broken, they did excellent job on packing everything. But our 2 bicycles and 1 of 2 armchairs and some of the less important stuff was not in the containers. Our relatively inexpensive (around $700) TV arrived in excellent condition without a scratch, though. I inquired repeatedly and received about 10 replies from Richard (the owner) that he's going to look in overflow bins in the storage, but for 2 months I didn't get any information on whether the stuff was stolen, broken, lost or is still sitting somewhere in overflow bins in the storage. Richard was very courteous there and responded within few days, but ineffective as far as finding the items (or even declaring them missing) , at least in this particular case. So, between the "A" for excellent work (most of my stuff arrived undamaged) and "F" for missing items and unresponsiveness for 2 months, I'm giving this company an overall "C". I really liked Richard, so it makes me sad to have to give anything lower than "A", but I feel it's justified in my case.

Very responsive to phone calls and showed up early for the work. They worked with us to be sure everything would be ready the day they showed up to save money--they charge by the hour, so the more preparation you do in advance the cheaper it is. The movers operated professionally and quickly. Nothing was lost or damaged during transportation across LA. Thanks to the advice before they showed up, the cost was about two-thirds the original estimate.

We hired Sunshine Boys based on a recommendation from a friend. They took great care of our things-every piece of furniture was wrapped with tons of plastic. They were very efficient and worked well with us. Our move took a little longer than I expected and it cost more than I hoped, but I blame a lot of that on the fact that our apartment's elevator is slow moving. They were great, very friendly, and really pushed hard for us. We'd hire them again in a second.

He was on time and spent what seemed like the right amount of time looking at my stuff so I could get a good estimate. He emailed me an estimate the next day and it was competitive with the other estimate I received.

I called on Friday afternoon and left a message. My call was returned the same day and I was able to book the movers for that Sunday. They arrived at the scheduled time, worked quickly and efficiently and completed the job within the allotted time. I will use them again and have recommended the company to my real estate friend so they can get more work.

There were a couple of issues at the beginning where they didn't have a big enough truck. They took care of things and made everything right. It took basically two trucks to do it all. They didn't break anything. All of the people were extremely professional, friendly and Richard, I think that's his name, the owner, I spoke to him over the phone and he took care of things. Those guys were very honest. In the second trip they made, some small items (a power amp and some other electronic items) got left on the truck and they didn't realize it until they had gone away. When they realized it, they called me and then came back. I didn't even know they were left in there! I would highly recommend them!

A+++. Initial phone consult was excellent. Owner was friendly and instilled a lot of confidence that job would be handled easily, reasonably, and diligently. It was. His four man team had a great attitude, highly diligent, upbeat, conscientious, efficient, initiative, respectful. Sunshine Boys completely took the stress out of packing and moving - and for a reasonable fee. Much better job and work performed with better attitude and higher standards and lower costs than moving firms with larger marketing budgets, and more well known reputations. Highly recommended.

Without reservation, I recommend The Sunshine Boys for moving experts and I am using them a second time, for another move. When I consider all the details that go into a project as this - well I just did not think of them all. But no problem, these guys do know what to expect, even if it may be the unexpected for us laymen. Watching these guys work, you will be impressed, as they work as a team, whether it is packing, wrapping or handling big, tough to move items, these guys know what they are doing. You will notice a sense of urgency to get the job done right, with skill and with a thoughtful awareness for the details. The planning from the onset was professionally facilitated and they were prompt at the time of service. This was our first experience using a company to move our household items and it was a 3,700 square foot house. I did not anticipate the scale of which this move would ultimately prove to be. I highly recommend them.

They are the best. As we all know, moving is a very stressful experience. Richard does not use sub-contractors and his men are professional, know each other and work as a team. They were, without exception, cheerful, intelligent, careful and willing. At the last moment, I realized I'd forgotten about a trunk full of Christmas ornaments which, having made a million packing decisions, I just couldn't cope with. Richard said, "don't worry, let me pack them up safely and we'll put them in storage" and he did so. The Sunshine Boys maintain a secured storage facility in La Verne which is far more reasonable than the self-storage units available in LA. And because of the way they pack things in vaults, you only pay for what you need and not what you think you are going to need. I cannot recommend this company more highly.

All went very well. The driver got to the store 20 minutes earlier than the time we had agreed upon, parked the moving van out of the way and called me to report his location. He described the van and, when I arrived peering around for the address of the store that I'd bought the refrigerator from (I'd never been to the store; purchase was an eBay auction), he pointed it out for me. He then agreed to wait while I went in and completed the details of the sale with the store. This took a while, but the driver patiently waited. The appliance was loaded into the van and the driver followed me to my house. He drove very well and did not make me nervous at all. The transfer of the refrigerator off the van and into my home went very smoothly. I was happy that no one was hurt, the merchandise was undamaged, and it all took so little time. Sunshine Boys owner, Richard, called me right after to make sure all was good. It was.

The service was great, I have nothing negative to report.

They were very punctual and arrived on time. All the guys were super friendly, courteous, and very professional. My condo has a very strict rule about not being able to move large furniture through the front door or through the front elevator, which is a major pain because my unit is right in the front. I explained to the movers that they had to move everything down the hallway, down the back elevator, and dolly it through the garage into the moving truck parked out front. A lot of vendors gripe about this because it's such a hassle but everyone at Sunshine Boys was a good sport and took extra care to make sure that all the rules were followed. They wrap everything in furniture blankets very securely, from furniture, lamps, computer items to appliances - sometimes I had to tell them they didn't need to wrap certain stuff because it was getting very time consuming. They are very detail oriented so if you have expensive or fragile things, they are good at handling that. About our 3rd hour in, one of the movers hit his head on the wooden base of the bed and had to go home. By the time we arrived at our destination, they had another mover come out to replace him. I would note that there definitely were certain movers that were much more efficient than others - they work faster, they are neater, and put more care into the overall move, real pros. One negative I would mention is that a lot of the movers came from a grueling move the previous day and I could tell they were getting exhausted pretty early on in the move - after the 3rd, 4th hour, I could tell the crew was starting to slow down which is not good because ultimately I am getting charged by the hour. With that exception, overall, I had a great experience with Sunshine Boys and would hire them again.

My move was less stressful than it could have been because of the diligence and professionalism of this crew. I am thankful for them and their efforts during my move.

Went very well, 1 chair was cracked, but overall well packed and fast.

The movers were right on time and very friendly. They first introduced themselves to us and them reviewed our home and what was to be moved. They were the most careful movers I have ever used. They used pads on each furniture item. Their price was reasonable per mover hour. If you are looking to move in a rush without a sensitive nature to furniture items, this mover is not for you. Great move for us. Thanks.

Richard gave me an estimate, and when hired, was able to rearrange his schedule to accommodate my move 2 days later. He and his crew arrived on time and worked tirelessly and persistently throughout the day, often interacting with my young children without getting off track. Though I had packed a lot of things, there was still a great deal of loading to do, including furniture, 2 pianos, etc., as well as my music equipment. There were two flights of stairs they had to deal with. My only complaints were: a) a piece of my music console was broken during the move b) they were unable to move a piano upstairs, necessitating my hiring another company for the task c) the front of my dryer was scuffed during the move.

The head guy, Richard, came out to the house in Westchester and looked over everything and gave us a rough estimate. I worry about estimates because that's all they are and you just have to trust that they will be accurate. He made a big point about the idea that we should by the packing materials because some companies overcharge for this, and we did and we saved some money. They came on time for the move and started right in. They had to bring 2 trucks. They moved really quickly, which delayed my fear of being gouged because the fee was hourly. They took off time for lunch on the ride over-one half hour at no charge-then showed up at our new house. They were really good about dismantling things at the old house and then putting them back together...FYI-this move was performed in almost 3 months(8/15/08)ago and I waited this long to report it because I had an experience before where some things were taken by movers when we moved. We are all unpacked now and all is here. These guys are good, I tipped them, I'd use them again.

It was okay. They came when they were supposed to. At the end of packing the house from where I was moving from, they were supposed to pack the kitchen and other things and they told me they were done. I came home and they were not finished. They left trash and I had to finish the job and had to make many trips. They called and argued with me and did not negotiate well at all. The owner though, I would hire to do anything. He is very dependable and just a great person. I will be very cautious next time to make sure the crew followed through, but I would definitely use them again and recommend them.

The workers were wonderful. However, in a 15 minute move they lost a large painting, an antique rug, jewelery box, and a dremmel kit. The company said they was no way they could have lost any of the things. They did inform me they found the dremmel kit and would return it, but have yet to do so. I've called several times.

They did a great job. They sent three guys for three hours.

We moved from Austin and lived in Pasadena for a little over a year. As most of our boxes were piled in the garage, we had no idea that it would take four men and one truck almost the entire day to run back to Pasadena for the second full load. They remained cheerful and energetic throughout!

In my experience, moving companies have not always lived up to their promises. This company did not disappoint. They gave me an estimate that was higher than what they ended up charging me. They finished the move in 4 hours and the guys were fantastic. They were respectful of all our requests, our belongings, very professional and worked very hard. The only negative was that they started the job 1 hour late due to the truck being stuck on the 405 because of an accident. This kind of thing can happen in L.A. so I am not blaming them entirely for their late start. Richard was very helpful in answering all my questions from the start and the move itself was flawless. I would definitely use their services again.
