flawlessly. began with phone estimate and description of services to be provided by joe 2 weeks prior to move. movers arrived at appointed time on moving day. they were fast, efficient, friendly, careful. just a pleasure to work with. the crew consisted of ray (foreman) eric,jonathan,conrad, margarito, jenio (sp?). we did our own packing but they even hung some really large, heavy pieces of art for us, smiling the whole time. they promise a stress free move-this is as close as it gets. PLUS, came in significantly under the estimate. they are the best.

The quality of the moving staff is exemplary. A big mistake both I and the moving company made was not doing a sight inspection of the job beforehand. This led to truck size issues at my old address, a much longer move than anticipated, etc. The crew was so amazing though and dealt with all professionally and with no hassles. I was very grateful to them for making would could have been a disasterous day tolerable. I felt well cared for. I have to say that I've dealt with many other moving/storage facilities over the last 25 years and Sunshine Boys is by far the best. I also somehow misunderstood the storage costs at their facility. Make sure you get a clear understanding of all services beforehand!

These guys were fantastic. They were speedy, polite and incredibly helpful. We will definitely hire them again and felt that the price was incredibly reasonable for how hard they worked.

My plan was to have a super smooth really quick move. Things didn't go as planned. A brutal few weeks at work got in the way of my life. When the movers showed up my apartment looked like a bomb had gone off inside it. On top of all of this it was also the middle of a record breaking heatwave. The guys from Sunshine Boys rolled with the punches and assured me it wasn't that bad. Joe took care of me and got a third guy on site to help packing. Given what all had to happen it was still super fast. The guys really hustled and were super friendly and nice, which helped because I was really embarrassed about what a mess I was. All my stuff made it to my new place safe and sound. I have a lot of framed artwork and a plasma TV, so it was no small feat to get it all to the new place without a scratch. My new house has hardwood floors that I just had refinished, so I was super worried about them getting scratched up in the move, but I needn't have worried, the guys were careful and my floors still look great. When getting my initial quote from Joe it was for an easy quick move, no packing, but the number was so low that I padded it in my head just in case. Surprisingly enough, even with the extra guy and the extra time spent packing the final bill still fell within my padded number. I'm seriously thrilled and I cannot speak highly enough about how nice and professional everyone from Sunshine Boys was, even with all the curve balls I threw at them.

I was very pleased that about the initial phone call to get a quote. Joe from Sunshine Boys was very professional, courteous over the phone and offered me a more precise quote/detail about charges than other companies I had called. They confirmed the day/time of the move one day before and again were very professional. I wasn't at the actual original pick up site but the owner informed me later that Dirk and Jermaine (the movers) were careful about moving the pieces despite the challenge of taking it down the stairs. I was called and informed about their approximate arrival time at the delivery site and again, was met courteously (no big complaints about the strenuous effort with the stairs). Dirk and Jermaine were careful, methodical and gentle about placing the equipment where needed. There was some small problem with getting the treadmill put back together...but sometimes, when things are taken apart and moved, especially with exercise equipment, it takes some jiggling/tweaking to get it going again. Jermaine was very patient about putting the treadmill back together despite the initial glitch. The rate I paid eventually was slightly higher than the initial quote but understandable in light of the stairs/dismantling challenge. They gave me an Angie's list member discount, which was great. I've worked with other movers who did a lot of complaining so it was refreshing that Sunshine Boys' movers were pleasant.

I read about their service from Angie's list and was impressed by all the positive comments. I called about a moving date about 10 days in advance of the move. I was able to get the date I wanted and the price which was by the hour was quote for 2 guys but knowing how tight some of the larger pieces of furniture were located in my apt, I figure it would be best to have 3 guys come. The guys who came out were there on time and ready to go. Ray, Conrad, and Mike are a great team. They came inside and immediately began wrapping all the furniture in blankets along with the pictures, artwork and all the glass shelves from the entertainment center that I had taken apart before they arrived. They work straight thru and once loaded headed out to my new place in Brea. They help me reassemble my entertainment center which is 3 large pieces of furniture that frames the Monitor and are extremely heavy pieces (I definitely could not have done this on my own) and they set up my washer and dryer. The total time with the drive time included was 4 1/2 hours and I can say they were all working the entire time. Even after everything was done they asked if there was anything else they could help me with. The final bill was calculated and I signed off a very happy customer.

Overall I was extremely please with my move. In the past I have had horrible experiences with moving companies but Conrad and Ray really changed my opinion of professional movers. My calls to the office were answered quickly and they guys showed up exactly on time. I would recommend them to friends and family and most definitely plan on using them again in the future should the need arise.

I hired sunshine boys at the last minute to help load a moving truck with all my household items. I had already packed everything into moving boxes and rented my own moving truck for a one-way move. They sent 3 gentlemen over who showed up early, and worked quickly and cheerfully. Any extra materials I didn't have (packing tape, cords for the truck) they brought with them and charged me a very reasonable amount for it. The gentleman on the phone also recommended that I rent furniture pads from the truck company. When the movers came, they wrapped all my wood furniture with the felt pads to protect it during the move. When they loaded the truck, their moving experience showed. They loaded the heavier items in first, and packed the truck efficiently enough that everything fit inside on the first try. If we had loaded it ourselves, we would've either packed and re-packed a few times or wound up renting a second truck to get everything to fit. I was charged by the hour for the labor and I thought it was a great deal with how fast they worked. I could have hired them to do a full service move if I hadn't called at the last minute.

The move was implemented very, very professionally. The movers arrived on time...very friendly and courteous. They packed up my remaining furniture and boxes, drove 60 miles to my new residence, unloaded everything (had to use the elevator) finished and were on their way back within 3 1/2 hours!! I would definitely use their service again and highly recommend the company. Thanks for making my move enjoyable!

Sunsine boys did such a fantastic job from start to finish. When setting up my moving date they were incredibly polite, straightforward about cost, and gave great advice (ie the more stuff boxed the faster it will go.) On moving day everyone was polite, friendly, super efficient and super careful. Patrick, the team leader, and Conrad were especially great. And to top it off, because they were so fast, (and because I took their advice and packed really well) the whole thing was significantly cheaper than the estimate I was given.

Fantastic--no, better than fantastic--superb service. Sunshine Boys Moving was recommended to me by RentAGreenBox (see my review of this company). I had already interviewed 4 other companies and was not really ecstatic about any of them, so I was grateful for another lead. Richard was prompt, professional and thorough when making the initial estimate. I knew at once that this was the company we needed to use! The end result was a fair and comprehensive price to move a multi-suite entertainment industry office from Mid-Wilshire to Hollywood. Richard listened to all of my concerns and handled some nightmarish paperwork required by building management with aplomb and patience. On the day of the move, the crew arrived on time and was informed about the building's rules and parking requirements. The entire crew was experienced and had all the equipment necessary to perform the move. Not a moment was wasted--everyone knew what needed to be done, and they did it. All the guys were super-friendly and respectful. When we arrived at the new office, the original floor-plan for the placement of our huge file cabinets wasn't working, but 2 of the guys got creative and they totally figured out how to make it work! Suffice to say, at the end of the day they all got generous tips and lots of compliments for a job well done. I will not hesitate to engage Sunshine Boys for a personal move if the need arises. Moving is hard--really hard, and stressful. This was the best moving experience I've ever had. Thanks to Richard for running a great business and taking care of his employees. It shows.

I contacted Sunshine Boys Moving by phone and we set up an appointment at my home so I could get a bid for moving. The owner, Richard Wayne was very pleasant on the phone and we set up an appointment for the same day. He was quite thorough in explaining every thing to me and I felt confident that he would provide good service. His company had been rated A and I didn't get the feeling that there would be anything to worry about. He said he would email me an estimate so I should be looking for an email from him. Nothing the next day so I called him and left a message making sure he had my correct email address. Today, nothing from him so I called again and asked that he call me to let me know either way if he would be sending me information I asked for and if I didn't hear from him by this evening I would continue to look for another mover. Still no call. To me, he demonstrated an unprofessional attitude and I thought it was important that I inform you of this.

I spoke with Richard at Sunshine Boys on 7/8/2010 to schedule a move for 7/22/2010. He quoted me a range of 5 hours for $585 up to 7 hours for $1092 for a 4-men moving team to move a 2-bedroom across town (approx. 5 miles). He said he would call me on 7/21/2010 (a day before the scheduled move) to confirm the details. I didn't hear from Richard the morning of 7/21/2010, so I left him two messages on 7/21/2010 to confirm the move and get the details as promised by Richard. 1st message at 11:00am on 7/21/2010, 2nd message at 3:00pm, and still by 4pm I didn't hear anything back from him. Having no other contact info (no other phone number, email address, or contact name is listed on Angie's list or on the Sunshine Boys website) and starting to get concerned that I wouldn't have movers for our scheduled move, I called another moving company listed as an Angie's List Super Service Award winner, and booked my next-day move at 4:00pm directly with the other company. I give Richard an "F" for follow-though, professionalism and responsiveness. It would have been no problem if Richard had just called me as promised, or if a receptionist had at least answered the phone or returned the call before 4pm the day before the move to confirm that we were still on schedule . I just called Richard and left him a courtesy message to cancel my move. Got a call back from their manager Grant at 4:25pm who was calling to confirm the move. Explained to him my situation, he apologized, but the fact is that no one from their office called me until 4:25pm and Grant didn't even know where Richard was all day that he couldn't get back to me earlier.

The overall experience was pleasant considering moving is such a chore. Ray, Jim and Chase were our movers for the day and they couldn't have been more professional, energetic (considering they moved boxes and furniture in a 3 level condo with 17 stairs at each level) and very courteous. They started at 10a because there was a traffic accident on the freeway and it took them 2 hours to get to us and they finished at 8p, taking a lunch break at around 4p. Ray called to let us know about the traffic problem, but unfortunately it took longer than anticipated, so I called Richard who immediately checked with Ray and reported back to me very quickly. There was a problem getting a couch out of one room as it would not fit through the door, so out a window it came. They were extremely careful with everything and nothing was broken. We moved about 10 miles away and they had to go to to separate locations to unload. Even as the last item was brought in (that pesky sofa which had to be carried up 3 flights of stairs as it would not fit in the elevator), they remained energetic and pleasant as if they had just started their day. This was the best moving experience I have had with movers and will recommend them to anyone and everyone that needs their help. Thanks Sunshine Boys!!!

These guys are fantastic. I rescheduled a BUNCH of times, and they were always accommodating. I was told it would cost between $800 and $1200 depending on the amount of stuff I had, and the conditions of the locations. I spent a LOT of time making sure everything was fully packed and ready to go when they arrived. Due to a miscommunication, the move started a few hours late, but once it got going, it was very smooth. Very friendly guys who worked their a**** off. In the end, I was charged $710! LESS than the estimate! I've NEVER heard of a moving company doing that. Unreal. These guys were honest, hard working, and trustworthy. I will be using them again for sure.

They were great. They had a great attitude. From the beginning, they were helpful, organized. On the phone, they fit me in right when I needed it (on a holiday weekend). The crew showed up early. And they worked incredibly hard and very carefully. They wrapped delicate items carefully. They took care with the floors and paint. And they put things back together, and made sure they were placed were I wanted. Their communication was great - if they had a question or concern, they asked. And best of all, the moving team had a sense of humor. Would hire them again in an instant.

From the first phone call a few weeks before our scheduled move to the actual execution of the move, I was delighted with the work performed by Sunshine Boys. They arrived on time, hustled throughout the day, kept a great attitude lead by Sergio and his crew. My wife and I were happy with this crew and the experience we had as a result of using The Sunshine Boys. We would not hesitate to use them again but hopefully this was our last move.

Overall it was a great experience.They arrived on time, were polite, thoughtful, and really moved (speed wise) the entire time they were working. At several points, I saw members of the crew running back and forth from the truck. They wrapped all of our furniture in blankets to protect it. They paid attention to the hardwood floors in the new house, and looked for ways to protect them. I'm especially grateful that they asked us for felt feet, and used the feet before putting down furniture on the hardwood. They paid attention to many things that I'm sure other companies would have totally overlooked, and they worked fast. The only concern I have is that the speed, while making the job less expensive, did lead to some minor damage. When the washing machine didn't quite fit in a doorway, the crew simply pushed harder to shove it through. The washer went through the door, but when we tried to use it, we discovered that the drain line was perforated. That turned into a bit of a mess. The top of the washer was also dented. I also saw the crew bend the leg of a workbench back into place after it fell and was bent in the truck. None of this is a problem, and I wouldn't hesitate to use Sunshine Boys again. I'd just advise other customers to have a discussion with the crew about what's most important: speed or protecting everything being moved. I also doubt it's possible to have a move without some amount of damage!

I read their review on Angie's list and decided to give them a call. I was short on time and needed to make a decision fast. I'm really glad I called them first. They were provided an estimate over the phone that turned out to be extremely accurate. I liked them so much I decided not to call for additional estimates. I did most of the packing and moved over a lot of the smaller items ahead of time. When moving day arrived they showed up on time and they were careful, clean and professional. It was a great moving experience!

My experience with Sunshine Boys was very good. I called them and set up an initial move date and was quoted a fee of $1500.00. In the meantime I had to move my move date out a few days which was no problem with them. The day before my move, (which was a Sunday) I got a call from Grant just to confirm that the time was still OK and to let me know that the foreman for my move would be Ray. I found this to be very helpful because I was able to discuss with him the couple of questions that I had regarding payment, would they take the beds apart etc. They were supposed to arrive at my house between 8:30 and 9:00 am. They arrived at 8:30 exactly. Ray went over the contract and the cost with my husband. There were four movers total and they worked very quickly which I liked since I was paying them by the hour. They loaded up the truck and realized they didn't have room for everything so they unloaded at the new house and went back and got the rest of our stuff. They unloaded that and then it was off to the storage facility. I left my son with them while I went to drop my daughter off at softball practice. I couldn't have been gone more than 40 minutes and when I got back they were done with the storage facility. I was very impressed by that since my storage is on the 2nd floor and they had to bring everything up a freight elevator. Overall I am very happy with the service the gentlemen were nice and friendly and Ray kept everything organized. I will use the Sunshine Boys for every move I do and I will refer them to my friends and family with confidence. Thanks guys!!

I called Sunshine Boys Moving the week before my planned move date. Richard was excellent and very thorough in his over-the-phone estimate. He asked details about my apartment such as the number of rooms, the number of stories of my apartment, the amount of furniture and so on. He offered his company's packing services as well but aside from the packing of the larger pieces of furniture I declined . The crew arrived right on schedule the day of my move. Forgoing the coffee and donuts that I had picked up for the crew, they set off straight to work. I had everything boxed in advance so within three hours they had moved my stuff out of my apartment, paper and plastic wrapped my furniture for storage and we were off to my new place. Since my home is undergoing a renovation I asked them to store my stuff in my garage and if possible to keep it on one side of the garage so I could continue to park my car on the other side. They did just that and in roughly an hour. Their price was just about what Richard had estimated, including packing materials. They made my moving day as low stress as possible.

They were an A rated Angie's List company. They helped us with a long distance move. They contracted with a second company for long distance moves that were not as careful with packing and unloading. The movers who were unloading made comments about how poorly the packing was done. Everything made it and was salvageable, however we were disappointed in this second company. The sunshine boys were a pleasure to work with! They were very polite and timely and they were conducive in helping do exactly what I wanted done. They came in right at their estimated cost with both packing and moving. The owner came to do the estimate, and he was very nice and very thorough.

They are not only very professional in the way they work, but they are also very friendly and go out of their way to give you extra service.

I called a large highly advertized moving company at first and then changed my mind after reading comments from dissatisfied customers. I had used Angie's List before, so I decided to give it another go and see if I could come up with a moving company that would personalize this rather tramatizing event and ease me through it with assistance and humor. I decided on "The Sunshine Boys" and after talking to the gent on the phone, I had an appointment set up and an estimated cost "not to exceed" a set amount of money. Many questions were asked as to the amount and type of items being moved and the location of each residence. Since I had previously boxed much of the household items, I was not in need of boxes or people to do this labor. I received a courtesy reminder phone call the day before I was to move and was given the names of my three movers,and the time they would be expected to arive. The next morning exactly on time, Rey,Dennis and Germaine drove up in a huge, brightly painted van. All 3 men were in great moods and worked well together. They workied non-stop from the moment they arrived until everything was packed in their van. The anticipated 2 1/2 hour job actually took 5 hours to complete, but we all chatted throughout the entire time, so the hours passed by quickly. I was to meet them in at my new home 100 miles away in LaJolla, so I hopped in my car and took off heading south. I stopped to pick up my mother, so I couild drive in the diamond lane and figured the guys would stop and eat lunch, so I'd get there before they did. To my surprise, my cell phone rang a few minutes after I arrived at the new home, and Rey, Dennis, Germaine and the huge van were aready in LaJolla. I couldn't believe how quickly they manurvered the van from LA to San Diego in such a short time. As they jumped off the van to unload, the sun was setting, but the 3 tireless woorkers were still going strong. They asked where I wanted the different pieces of furniture and boxes, and kidded around and talked the entire time. They three guys were very careful with my belongings and complient to any of my wishes. Their sense of professionalism made me feel safe and secure, as I watched them carefully wrap furniture and haul heavy armoires up and down stairwells. Yet they were all very outgoing and enjoyable to be around, so that it seemed more like friends helping me move than a contracted moving company. Other than their somewhat quirky name, "The Sunshine Boys Moving Company " was the right pick for me. When I stop and think about it, Ray, Dennis and Germaine did make the Sunshine on my entire moving experience that Valentine's Day.
