Tony called back the same day (unlike three other roofing contractors) and was willing to schedule a time to look at my roof. He went out of his way to finish the work on my deadline (within a week). Very easy to work with and efficient. Will definitely call him again when/if we need roofing service.

Tony Walker of Great Western Roofing was very pleasant and professional but said the offer did not cover my stone (slate) tiles - only the typical terra-cotta tiles. There was no mention in the Big Deal that the offer was limited to a particular type of roof tile. He was willing to give me a $50 discount for having made the Angie's List purchase of $149. But the total cost was approximately $1400. (e.g., 2 guys x$90/hr x 8 hours = $1440 - $50 = $1390 or nearly ten times the cost of the Big Deal. Thanks, Tim

It was fair. Scheduling was fine. They sent 1 tech the first time - the owner - and he didn't have his tools. He did the inspection and tried to upsell me on services. We agreed he'd come back with his crew and tools and complete the originally contracted job. When they came back, however, they started working on the work that I didn't authorize. I caught them and stopped them. They did the minor repair, cleaned up, and left.

The tune went great and my wife and I were very comfortable working with the contractor. There was great communication between us and the contractor when scheduling the appointment. On the day of the appointment, the contractor was on time. The contractor was very personable and easy to talk with, explaining everything he was doing during the initial visit. Once completed, the contractor provided us with recommendations for additional updates to bring our 30 year old roof more up to code. He was very detailed in explaining his recommendation without overwhelming us with technical talk. We requested a quote for the additional work which the contractor provided us by e-mail that night. We actually did hire the contractor back again to implement the quoted recommendations he provided to us. His work was top notch and we would recommend his company to anyone.

I had Tony come out to do a roof Inspection for me. I must tell you I was pleasantly surprised by the professionalism and honesty of Tony. If I ever do have a leaking roof, I know who I am going to call. A++ Service.

Very easy to contact when setting up appointment. Wanted to use his lightest team members for the job, since it was a large roof with already few visible tiles to be replaced. Did work, gave report after (50 tiles to be replaced), and fair pricing. Angie's List deal was not a savings for my roof, as I just needed roof tiles replaced, not the other maintenance items included in the deal. Tony is a decent man, with a professional team.

I pulled four bids from Angies List. I chose to include Great Western Roofing because they were highly rated. Of the four companies I got bids from, Great Western was the most professional and best priced. The owner, Tony walker, was very easy to work with.

Tony Walker was very professional, prompt, and courteous. Did a good job. Explained everything. He refastened the slipped tiles. He inspected the roof and found one cracked tile that he sealed. He said it could be replaced if we wanted, but didn't think it needed to be. The roof is 16 years old. He said it looked good and should last a long time.

Did not have work done, but owner Tony seems like a nice guy.

Inspected roof and repaired broken and loose tiles. Checked leak around a skylight; removed tiles to reveal rotted plywood. Replaced plywood and reinstalled tile. Very professional and skilled workers.

Great Western Roofing was prompt, efficient and completely professional. Besides repairing a few broken roof tiles, they called in various places where tiles were cracked. Finally, they provided advise and gave me an assessment of the condition of my roof. Should I have a need for roofing services in the future I would most definitely consider Great Western Roofing as one of my choices!

My wife and I maintain a house in Carlsbad that we had not seen for an extended period. Because of this, we were concerned about the overall integrity of the roof and knew there were a few broken tiles. Tony arrived on time and was willing to give me a basic course on tile roofs as we walked the roof and identified problems. After determining what was needed, we scheduled another visit for the work to be done. On the second visit, Tony brought a crew of two who immediately started repairing/replacing broken tile,cleaning the gutters out, and repairing some of the flashing that needed more roof tar. The job was done quickly and professionally. We would not hesitate in hiring Great Western Roofing if we needed further work or a new roof.

Tony and his crew at Great Western Roofing have always provided clearly written estimates followed by high quality work at reasonable prices. We had a leak around a fireplace and followed Tony's suggested repairs which were completed as expected, on time and on budget. We haven't had any problems since the repair. Great Western has also been out on numerous occasions to replace tiles broken by others and they go above and beyond when doing so. He is fair, courteous and highly recommended.

Our neighbors across the street were having their house re-roofed and, as we had been thinking about re-roofing our house (it is 40 years old and had the original composite roof still, quite battered), we asked them to send someone to quote for us. We had someone in the next day and he reviewed the requirements, talked to us about the options and estimated costs and left some materials for us to review. A day later he came in with samples and took full measurements for the quote which we had 24 hours later. The quote included all work and any additional cost per unit for possible additional materials. The crew showed up in time, proceeded to remove the old roof, and prepared for the replacement. While doing so they found that one wall had shifted (we are on an earthquake zone) a bit and required replacing of a cracked beam before installing the new roof. We approved the additional work and it was immediately ordered, thankfully it only delayed the project for one day. All in all a good experience with this company, the job was completed well, they were very responsive and worked to our satisfaction, the costs, including the additional work and materials, were reasonable and well itemized, and we are very happy with our new roof.

Tony (Great Western) was great from beginning to end. He had the best price quote and went overboard to keep us in the loop every step of the way. He did everything he said he was going to do and then some. Great experience. Highly recommend Great Western!
