However, we could not determine where the existing overflow pipe was going after it passed through a wall, so I expressed concern about passing city inspection. A new overflow pipe was installed. Passed city inspection on Thursday.

This is important, as I am not able to be there personally to oversee the job, and I need to trust that work is done and done well. He also sent me 'before' and 'after' pictures, along with close-ups of the water heater's serial and model #s. Everything went smoothly and the job was finished quick and efficiently. The technician and office admins were polite and professional.

I had been researching hot water heaters online, and realized it may be an issue to get the same size tank into the same space, but the person on the phone was very knowledgeable and gave me confidence they could provide a good replacement. We had returned home from a vacation to find this leak. I called around 10am on Labor Day holiday, and they were able to send someone out to do the work later that same day. They gave us a 1-5pm window, and said they'd call when on their way, which they did. The job took a couple of hours work, which included thorough testing of the unit to make sure it was functioning properly. We were very satisfied with the work, the responsiveness, and the professionalism. I wasn't sure about the cost at first, as their quote was a total including parts and labor, and it was a lot more than what I was seeing online for replacement tanks. But those online costs didn't include the installation. After doing more research on what typical installations cost (and seeing how much work it was), I think it was a fair price. Would definitely recommend them for hot water heater issues.
Description of Work: Our 17-year old hot water heater had developed a slow leak, and needed to be replaced. It was a 50-gal gas tank, located in an upstairs laundry room closet enclosure that implied specific size restrictions on the replacement.

Company that I called wanted to charge extra for possible what ifs. We called Tony and he came back within the hour and installed a new water heater. We asked a lot of questions while he was working and he answered all of them. Tony was very professional and knowledgable. We will definitely recommend this company and Tony specifically.

+ -1 moreFantastic. Really, I'm a tough customer and Tony (my installer) and the company were just great. I found this company on Angie's List, used a coupon ($150 for $300 worth of service) to bring the $1399 price (which included an extra $100 I chose to pay for extended warranty service) down to $1099. (So total out of pocket was $1200.) Install was perfect, everything brought up to code, explained, etc. I called on Sunday night and they arrived and installed everything by noon! If the whole universe was this efficient, life would be grand. The fact that they do nothing but water heaters makes all the difference.

Description of Work: Replace water heater. We had no hot water. After talking with a person, I believe his name was Dave (at 323 area code store location) I received a lot of valuable information. Further, since our pilot light was out and I was leaving town the next day, I needed a repair or replace quickly. The better decision was simply to replace (since I had this same problem a few times over the last couple of months & the unit was about 15 years old). Additionally, he was able to have Fabian come to replace our unit within 3 hours of my call since I was going out of town the next day & the pilot light was out & I needed to take care of this immediately. Fabian came out & was able to replace the unit and clean up in a couple of hours. By early afternoon, my problem had been fixed and at a reasonable price. I highly recommend this company.

Description of Work: I have a GE water heater in one of my rental units that broke and I could not find replacement parts anywhere and when I called a couple of other companies they suggested that this is an outdated unit and they will have to request parts from GE directly which could take weeks so I am better off replacing the whole unit. So I found Water Heaters Only on Angie's list and called them to replace the entire unit. I talked with Lori who was extremely helpful and professional and got me an appointment promptly. Mark was onsite first thing the following morning and after reviewing the situation suggested that he can actually repair the unit instead of replacing it since it was a fairly new unit. Plus it will be for a fraction of the replacement price. OMG it was so refreshing to have an honest professional who actually cared. They could have easily just replaced the unit without even saying anything and made good money off of it. Instead they made an effort to actually help me. Mark repaired the unit and saved me a ton of money and headache. I wish I could give this company 10 stars. If you need water heater work done - look no further.

He replaced the water heater, as well as the pan. He also replaced a wooden floorboard underneath the unit. The job was done in 90 minutes. Tony replaced the water heater, including bringing our pipes and other gear up to the latest earthquake codes and carrying the old unit down two flights of narrow stairs, so quickly he didn't even need to move out of the two-hour parking zone. We were tremendously pleased and would definitely hire again (although we hope the new water heater has a long, happy life).
