They were prompt and professional. Mike worked really hard and it was clear that he liked his job and took pride in his work. He cleaned up all the mess, and was happy to go above and beyond to build a new platform for the water heater and help me dry out the water from the old leaky heater. Mike didn't leave until everything was installed/repaired to my satisfaction. Another worker from the company, Dave, came to help him lift the new heater onto the platform, and he was equally professional and proud of his work. I would definitely recommend them.

I was quoted $900-1000 over the phone by Dave. Made the appointment with Paul after double checking the quote with him. When the installer arrived, before stepping into my garage and seeing the old water heater, he already had his labor cost written down and his total was $1200. I told the installer the figure is unacceptable. This happened three days ago and I have not heard from the company to this day.

Late on Friday night, I heard water running in the water heater closet. I turned off the water valve and went to bed. At 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, I called Water Heaters Only, actually got a live person on the phone (!) and was given an appointment time of "between noon and 3:00" the same day. Mike Cohen called at 11:30 and said he was on his way - he arrived at 11:50. He looked at the problem and determined that the 50-gallon heater needed to be replaced. He asked how many bathrooms were in the house and I told him only one. He said I didn't really need a 50-gallon tank and gave me a quote of $1129.00 to replace it with a 40-gallon tank. I agreed and told him to proceed. When he tried to remove the old heater, he found that it would not come out of the closet opening. Apparently when it was installed, the door's framework had been removed, the heater put in place, and the framework rebuilt around it. So Mike had to dismantle the framework again to get that big tank out (which damaged a little wall paint, but that's easily repaired). Once that was done, the new heater went in pretty easily. Mike also replaced some of the old fittings and replaced the closet framework. The whole job took about 1 hour and 45 minutes.

My water heater was making a thumping noise and I figured this would be a great excuse to upgrade to a tankless heater. So I called Water Heaters Only and was connected to Dave. Dave was fantastic. He got the info of our current water heater and listened to our issue with it. He then spent his time convincing me that A - if I can put up with the sound my water heater didn't actually need replacing and B - why a tankless was not right for me and just more expensive. Let me put this another way. A man just spent time out of his day to convince me not to give him a $3000 sale, because it wasn't in my best interest. That is above and beyond the call of duty and that type of professionalism and honesty can't be beat. I am going to put up with the thumping for a little while longer, but the moment I need a new water heater I know exactly who I am going to call because I know that I can trust them.

I called the company last night to schedule a service because we could not light the water heater. The original appointment was for 12 - 2 pm, but they called this morning and said they could come out at 10. The tech was waiting when I arrived. I asked for an honest evaluation ... repair or replace. He evaluated the problem and found the thermocouple was defective. It was supposedly replaced a year ago by a plumber, but the original was still in place. He replaced it, and the heater started up. He examined the water heater and pointed out some things to watch for, but indicated it would likely be good for many more years. He had a replacement available if I wanted that, but the repair was greatly appreciated. Dave, the technician, was very professional but friendly. For my future needs, at this rental property, or my own home, they can be sure I will call them. They are available 24/7/365. However, I called them because the reviews on Angies List were positive.

It was a good experience. They were on time and they did a good job.

They were quick, and they replaced the water heater, and did everything they were supposed to. We didn't really look around for prices, we went back to them because they had installed the original one. They did good work. They came out earlier than they said they would.

It went well. They were timely and professional and got the job done well.

Can't say enough about these guys. This is what makes Angie's List so valuable - it drives you to honest, hard working service providers like these guys. Helping elderly mom with her home in LA. She has moved in with me in NY and comes back to visit in LA only once per year. Last year the water heater broke. Had a local guy put in new one. But still didn't produce hot water. We were here in August for a few days so we survived with cold showers. Came back this August. Looked on Angies List and saw that Water Heaters Only had a special to get a $125 repair for $79. Paid the $79 and they came out within the hour. Repairman diagnosed the problem, and found that issue was electricity. Circuit breaker was tripping. Said we needed electrician to repair electric line to water heater as it had a short in it. Used Angie's List to find a good electrician. Electrician came out and tested line. Said that electric line was not the problem. It works fine. Problem is with the water heater itself. Got on phone with manufacturer to trouble shoot, and found that it was most likely the heating element in the machine. Called Water Heaters Only again, and told them that their guy sent me astray, cost me another service call (time and money), and that as Water Heaters Only, they should have been better able to diagnose the problem with the water heater. They apologized. Said that they would replace both heating elements which normally costs $250, and would have someone at my house in an hour. They did what they said. Had a guy here in an hour, who fixed the problem, and they didn't charge me since I had also had to spend good money in having the electrician come out. They weren't perfect. No one is. The question is how they handled their imperfection. No charge and arrival within the hour to remedy the problem is my idea of excellent customer service. I would use them again 10x over.

Saturday night I discovered that I had no hot water. Sunday morning I call provider. They quoted me a price. Technician, Mike Cohen, arrived when he said he would and I mean to the minute. Work was done in 90 minutes. I am very happy with the results.

He looked at the water heater briefly and said he was going to charge me a labor fee to find out the problem. I said I wouldn't pay for labor to try and figure out the problem he said there would be no charge for the trip and left.

It went well. He came and re-lit the pilot and showed me how do it for future reference. He stuck around for 2 hours to see if the pilot would go out. He also checked for leaks and fortunately there weren't anyway. Since it was such a easy job they said if there were any issues they'd come out again on the same coupon. They definitely want to provide value for their service and I appreciated that.

Called Dave @ Water Heaters Only the week before to schedule an appointment. I was actually looking to change the water heater that we currently had to tankless. Dave actually changed my mind about tankless (not by persuasiveness, but by his honesty). We set up an appointment to install one 40 gallon gas water heater. I mentioned that the gas company told me that the connection to my other water heater needed to be replaced and this water heater was at least 14 years old. He mentioned that the codes were changing next year and it was a good thing I was replacing one this year, because it probably would be a lot more expensive to do this next year. With that information, I mentioned that I might want to change the second one out as well. He was very knowledgeable and very honest. I felt so comfortable using this company that I cancelled my other appointments that I set up before I spoke to Dave. The guys arrived right on time.After discussing the cost of adding the second water heater and the possibility of needing a new regulator they went right to work and finished everything in three hours. They were very professional and did a great job installing both water heaters. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone who needs to have a regular or tankless water heater installed.

The service man arrived early within the appointment time. After determining the heater was leaking gave me an estimate for installing a new one. Gave approval to replace and a new one that was stored in his service van was installed. Other parts replaced besides the heater were the inlet and outlet water hoses that went between the heater and house plumbing, the gas line including the valve, the chimney interface piece, and an extension was added to the end of the overflow pipe. In addition, the upper earthquake strap was repositioned higher to better support the heater in case of an earthquake. The whole job took less than 3 hours. The heater is enclosed in a small exterior hut with two swing out doors. The heater control unit of the new heater extends out more than the one replaced so the heater had to be rotated in order to make clearance for the heater hut door to close properly. This resulted in not being able to see the heater control and settings directly because of interference by the enclosure. Tried using a mirror but is difficult to make out the settings. However, the heat control knob is accessible. So, other than the inability to see the heater control and settings directly, it was a good installation.

We originally purchased our water heater from them on 6/18/2012 (you can see my review of them on that date). The experience was very positive and we were very happy with the result. They installed a new Bradford White 50-Gallon, which I was told was one of the best. The new installation of the water heater was $1,074. Fast forward to 4/27/2014, which made the water heater less than 2 years old. It started to make a really loud noise and it was leaking. No big deal I thought, since it's still under warranty. Boy was I WRONG... I called them and the guy came on time. He took a look and agreed that the water heater is broken and need to be replaced. He called the boss and that's when everything went wrong... (I was happy with the installer, but not the company policy). Here's what I was told: WHO gives you a 6 year warranty on the tank itself, but only 1 year on parts and labor. To do a "Warranty Swap", the company charges $350. Plus the parts - $50. (I asked the installer to remove an old water softener, which costed $105. I had no problem with this) With kids waiting to use hot water, what could I do? I said yes but I was very unhappy. So basically the parts and labor to replace the original water heater, which was $1,074, is $400. This is 37% of the total cost. That just doesn't sound right. I called back a few days later to ask about this "Warranty Swap" policy and was told that this is standard practice, and plus my water softener shortens the life of the water heater. (This just starts to sound like bs. My water softener system is filter only, no salt involved. And if they were concerned about it, they never said anything when the water heater was first installed) They agreed to extend my parts/labor warranty to 3 years, but I am still not very happy. I've always thought that water heater is something that will last for years and years, not something that breaks in less than 2 years. True it's not WHO's fault that the water heater is broken, but they should stand behind the product they carry exclusively more and not charge 37% to do a warranty replacement. Good luck if you use them, and pray that you won't need a warranty replacement like I did.

They were very professional to work with and did a good job replacing the water heater with a 10 year warrantied water heater 50 gallon water in the basement . Also removed old water heater.

I bought the water heater from them two years ago. They were great with the installation and came the same day they were called. The address below is wrong. This work was performed in Woodland Hills, CA.

This job was referred by a home warranty company. They had originally referred us to another vendor (also listed on Angie's List but with lower ratings). We were disappointed with that salesman/technician and so chose not to have the work done with them. Then the warranty co. sent us to this provider. What a difference! Instead of trying to upsell us on something expensive, the dispatcher was honest and went over the options, including real energy efficiency numbers. It took several service calls to correctly evaluate and fix the problem, and we ended up authorizing a new water heater. At least they were businesslike about it, and always prompt and responsive.

Skilled craftsman came on New Years Day.. Would refer them to others. thanks.

These guys are great! I called them when another contractor noticed that the water heater in my crawlspace had almost rusted through. (No point waiting until there was no hot water in the house.) I set up an appointment for a Saturday, and Fabian came out. He inspected the area and spoke with me about my water needs before recommending a tankless hot water heater to replace the old one. After he ordered the water heater, Fabian came back out to install it. I appreciated the fact that it was the same contractor. None of my concerns - like sealing around the crawlspace so rats don't get in - were lost because it was the same person! Fabian called when he arrived and when he completed the work because I was not home at the time. When I inspected everything the next morning, I was so pleased. He removed the old water heater (and a second that was abandoned in the crawlspace some time earlier), sealed where the old exhaust duct had been, installed the new water heater at the perfect height and cleaned the area. It was perfect. I would recommend this company to anyone who needed a new tankless water heater. They did a great job!

I received a physical estimate for the number of bathrooms, tubs one day and the new water heater was replaced the next morning. They were prompt, pleasant, efficient and helped get things away from the area and cleaned up the area before they left, taking with them the old leaky water heater, all this took 2 l/2 hours. I am pleased with the new water heater.. Thank you Angie.

I regret doing business with this firm. After discussing the particulars of my situation on the phone, including that a second man would be needed to move the old one out and the new one in I received an estimated range of the cost. It was pretty high but acceptable. so I took a day of from work to be there for the installation. When the man arrived he provided a quote that was substantially higher than the range I had been given on the phone. He could provide no justification for the higher quote. I had to proceed since I could not afford more time off from work. On calling their office the manager was fairly rude and insulting and took no responsibility for the phone estimate. Based on remarks made by the installer this happens on a regular basis. I should have gone with the company that was advertising a fixed price deal here on Angies list. or hired some help and done it myself. an equivalent unit only costs $450 at home depot. So they made about $1000 for 3 hours work.

They were wonderful and very professional! I called today and was given a quote over the phone. They came to my house within an hour and a half and the new water heater was installed in less than two hours! I was VERY happy with the outcome!

They did good work and performed the job quickly. Thorough and I would highly recommend him to others.
