Al was the project lead and made himself very accessible to me and my many questions. The electricians were all in uniform and worked quickly and efficiently even in the rain, which surprised me. They were very friendly, professional and cleaned up after themselves. The lead electrician even helped me convert a fluorescent lighting system in the garage to LED when he saw I was struggling. At the same time I had an aluminum patio covering and pavers installed and they worked well coordinating things with my contractor. They also took care of scheduling all the permits with the city and P&G. My electrician also assisted the P&G guy who was struggling connecting live wires (P&G guy almost dropped a live wire on the roof of my aluminum patio cover). While they may not have been the cheapest electrician, I could not be happier with the results, level of responsiveness, them talking and walking through all the details with me and have peace of mind that everything was brought up to code and done correctly without any short cuts being taken. I will definitely use them again when the time comes.

Borin and Al and all of the team that we interacted with did quality work. Were professional and adaptable in dealing with the physical site and coordinating between PG&E and the city. That is no easy feat. They came out as many times as needed and responded to our changes gracefully. Would be happy to work with them again.

Our Gentec electricians were able to sort everything out in our crawlspace in one afternoon. They removed several hundred feet of dead wiring, organized and labeled all the circuits, and closed all the junction boxes. Most importantly they were able to find a dedicated circuit for the undercounter electric water heater we weren't able to use before.

After I purchased the deal from you, Genetec contacted me. The package info was not clear. but everything else went very well.

GENTEC's Al Moreno came to my home and reviewed the work to be done. He answered my questions in a very informative way. The electricians kept me informed all during the work process. They coordinated the permit / inspection process and with PG&E. The upgrade will very well, I would hire GENTEC again.

All work completed professionally and on time. Met with city inspector for permitted new sub panel and car charger.

It went great, all outlets were checked. Found a couple of minor issues that we are going to have resolved.

I had to email them to make appt after my purchase and they took a while to get back to me. They came to inspect my house and basically told me that a lot of work was needed. I never received any follow up report or estimates for repair. So...I basically paid $118.75 for someone to tell me what I already knew. What a SCAM. I want a refund...seriously!

I thought they were very thorough and professional.

Thought we had a wiring issue. Turns out we had just used the wrong kind of light bulb. He didn't even charge us anything!

Al was excellent. He was very professional and friendly. He knows his business and pointed out some issues I had with loose plugs in the house and plugs that were not up to code in my kitchen. He pointed out the broken garage light. Al also was very patient in trying to solve a very frustrating and ongoing issue I have had with Comcast and their cables coming into the house registering voltage at the box on the side of the house. (I even had PG&E out to try to track down the issue which seemed to mystify everyone else.) Now I can go back to Comcast and advise them that their equipment is causing the voltage to show up on their cables!! During the course of Al's inspection of my electrical system in the house, he discovered I had a slow leak in my garage on the wall under my workbench and brought that to my attention (even though it was a plumbing and not an electrical issue). I was unaware that it existed and it could have caused major damage if left unattended to. I will definately go back to Gentec for any future electrical needs.

Came on time, and flexible to adapt to the schedule I requested. Professional service. Clean. Did not leave any dust after finishing the work. Answered all my questions. I'll consider them next time I need electrical work.

The panel has worked well. However. the door to my crawlspace was left open through the evening.

After replacing our dishwasher and having a few weeks of perfectly normal performance, it mysteriously started tripping the breaker mid-run. I imagined it was due to the heating element coming on and was worried that we had some funky electrical issues behind the walls (we live in a house in Oakland built in the late 1920s). I called up Gen-Tec on a Thursday for a next-day service call and had prompt and polite phone support. The next day Al Moreno showed up in the middle of my two-hour time slot and checked out the breaker box. It turned out the electrician who had replaced the breaker box failed to fully screw in all the leads to the breakers, and one of the wires to the breaker in question was shorting, tripping the breaker. A quick trim and screw tightening was all it took to get the breaker back in good working order. Not only did I learn something about my house but Al was kind enough to not even charge me a service fee. I couldn't have been happier with Gen-Tec's professionalism and kind gesture and will definitely be calling them up when the next electrical issue rears its head.

I asked for a quote for a number of other projects and didn't get a follow up.

It went like perfect, I'm glad I called. He showed up,die some testing on wiring, found the problem,fixed it,done deal. I'm extremely happy. Definitely will call again for other fix it projects

I am so pleased with my experience using Gentec. Of all the contractors I've dealt with while remodeling my kitchen, they have been the best BY FAR. We scheduled an estimate to have our sub-panel (breaker box) replaced and all the wiring in the kitchen brought up to code. Our house is 40 years old, so it was quite necessary. The estimator, Al, came out a couple days later. The estimate was in line with my expectations, so I scheduled the service right away. The electricians were clean, professional, and worked quickly. Their work passed inspection with no troubles at all. I would absolutely use Gentec again. In fact, I've already scheduled two additional services with them for HVAC work.

I am very satisfied. We called Gentec in late afternoon 10/30/2014 to report a dead outlet for our microwave oven. I had already looked at a couple of obvious things before I called them. The office told me that the minimum visit fee was $59, and that would also cover a quick job. They gave me an appointment between noon and 5PM on 10/31/2014 [the next day]. They said that I could possibly get a better fix on the arrival time if I called the following morning. I called at 8:29AM on 10/31/2014 , and they told me that they didn't yet have a better fix on an arrival time. They called at 8:44 to offer me a morning appointment immediately; another customer had cancelled at the last minute. We had a morning appointment ourselves and I could not accept the change. I called 10:51AM to ask if they had a better fix on the arrival time, and they said "somewhere between 1PM and 3PM". They arrived at 3:35PM. When they got here, I told them what was wrong and what I had already checked, and they got out some test gear and started inspecting the outlet, the circuit breaker panel, and a couple of junction boxes I didn't know about. They found two problems: several of the circuit breakers were mislabeled, and there was a bad connection inside a junction box; wires should be twisted together before an electrical nut is placed but the electrician who had originally done the work in our kitchen remodel ten years ago had not done that. The previous electrician was a different company. They fixed the problem in about half an hour. They charged the minimum visit fee, which seems very reasonable.

The office staff was very nice when I called and left my contact information for a return call, they said the call would be returned within an hour. Less the 30 minutes later I was called and I explained the issues I was having. The contact, Jeremy, was very helpful and polite, set up an appointment for the following week. I happened to be home the day after I scheduled the apt for the following week and called to see if they had any appointments for same day, they were very accommodating canceling my other apt and booking one for the same day. Tim-the HVAC man who came to my house was professional and fixed the problem quickly. He also helped set all the vents in my home for better air flow/ Gentech was a fantastic company to deal with.

Our experience with this business was great! We were immediately impressed with the customer service and responsiveness from Jaremy, the operations manager, and even more impressed with Chad's professionalism and the quality of his work the day of our appointment. We felt that the price was fair and were very pleased that everything was able to be done in one day (our ceilings are vaulted and our house is on a slab, making the job a little more complex). We will definitely be contacting Gentec in the future!

This contractor was very quick, professional and clean. When I first started calling around, they were the only company who would just schedule an appointment to come out and do the job. Others wanted to send someone to do an estimate and then schedule the job. We didn't want to deal with that nonsense. We just wanted the job done and they understood that! He made a good recommendation that ended up saving us a lot of money. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone and plan to use them again the next time a need arises.

Al and his team were amazing. We had a very tight schedule to get the job done before we had the house painted and moving in. They worked long hours and Al even worked on Sunday to make sure they met our deadline. They did clean work and were very flexible with our schedule and changes . They also offered a lot of great ideas and information regarding our project. They even wired and installed 2 of the fan/light combos on vaulted ceilings in 2 different rooms, which we didn't think could be done. And they were very reasonable. We will definitely utilize their services in the future and would recommend them to friends and family.
