+ -1 morePerfect! It was a very pleasurable process right from the beginning, even with scheduling the appointment. Everyone understood what I was asking and saying, no dumb or bored retorts, like one gets so often. The crew showed up on time did an impeccable job, always kept their cool, though it was kind of a difficult task. They were friendly and explained everything. When they found out that one of the fixtures didn't work, they even negotiated with the seller for a replacement. And totally unexpected they took with them all the wrapping etc. and left our home spotless. Definitely we found our future electric company.

The same day the technician called to say he would be here in about 45 minutes...he arrived right on time, listened to our concerns, explained every detail of the installation process, gave a quote for service. Within minutes, our light and fan remote was installed and working! In the future, we'll call Gentec Services, Inc. for all electrical needs...and ask for Technician Al!

+ -1 moreJohn the electrician was always on time, super clear about the estimate, found issues that the previous guy didn’t even know or mention, and was fast and good. Their estimate was also a bit lower than 2 other estimates I received, and I had way more confidence in Gentec to complete the work properly. Absolute great experience across the board, would not hesitate to hire again.
Description of Work: We had previously hired another electrician who was basically garbage. We hired Gentec to fix all his mistakes and complete the work, which included installing outlets, fixing switches, installing outdoor electrical components.

+ -1 moreGreat. These guys know their work. I inherited a lot of Hokey wiring with my purchase of a home that was originally built in 1918 and haphazardly remodeled several times since then. Gentec helped me re-wire the entire Kitchen, sort out a LOT of problems with random hot wires lying around in my crawl space (???) and recently helped me connect a 240V point-of-use water heater. They're always on time, and the work is always well done. While the service tech was out for the POU water heater he finished the install fast enough that we were also able to hire him to install a ceiling fan (that I'm now glad I didn't try to install myself) in the amount of time allotted for the water heater hook-up. I highly recommend these guys, they do very good work.

+ 0 moreI got an appointment within the week, and when the gentleman looked a the switches, he learning (as did I) that they had been wired incorrectly. He got it working fairly easily, then he made sure everything was safe, but he pointed out several violations of code that he thought I should take care of as soon as I could. Since we plan to be doing some major work in the next year, I told him I would have them design my new lighting system in the back yard. Even though he came out and spent time figuring out what was wrong, he didn't charge me anything because he said he didn't really do anything. I really liked the gentleman they sent out.
Description of Work: I had an odd problem with an outside patio light that ran off two switches. It just stopped working.

+ -1 moreThey do electrical and HVAC, but I use them just for HVAC. I had them come install my smart thermostat. They had to replace one of the wires to the thermostat. They got the smart thermostat to work. They just got to work and spent some time educating me about what he was doing. After installing he went over the operation of the thermostat. They tired to sell me on a service plan, which I wasn't interested in.

Description of Work: Gentec Serrvices replaced all interior electrical switches and outlets. They also replaced 3 fluorescent light ballasts, 3 exterior weatherproof outlets, and 2 bathroom vent fans. They also obtained building permit and attended final building inspection to explain their work.

Description of Work: I would never use Gentec again. They couldn't fix a light bulb issue, When it would not turn a 3rd time on the weekend, and caused my 2 cars to be stuck in the garage they wanted a total of $700.00 to come out, I found it was a bad circuit breaker. I replaced it my self for it cost of $10.00, saving $690.00 and never getting a refund for not being able to fix the light bulb issue. 1. Install electric outlet from nearest outlet to inside new gas fireplace. Went well 2. Light bulb in closet would stay on for a few seconds, go off, then repeat. Went well 3. UNSATISFACTORY WORK AND OUTRAGEOUS CHARGE - UNABLE TO FIX WHAT WAS ON THE WORK ORDER. - Light bulb in small utility hallway would flicker and would also not turn on. inspected, Could find no cause. tested and it worked. - Happened again, Came out second time. Replaced wiring to light bulb. all under warranty. It worked and then went out. Happened a third time on a weekend. I noticed the adjacent bathroom light would not go on. The garage door control would not go on. The garage light would not go on. To me that meant, TO ME, everything on the circuit was not working. I called Gentec and spoke with the tech who came both times before. Tech said he was only warranted to fixing the light bulb in small utility hallway. I said it was not fixed and he should come and fix it especially as it affected the garage door control, too. Tech said he was work order said he was only to fix the light. He said he couldn't do anymore for the light to make it stop flickering and not turn on as the wiring in the light box was okay. Tech it may be related to the light switches on the wall the first time he was here. The second time the Tech was unwilling to go outside the box containing the light. The tech never offered that it may be something else beside the light box wiring, except for the light switches he was unwilling to check. He said that he may need to trouble shoot it, that I'm may be an issue on the circuit, that it may be a circuit breaker. He sais since it was not the light box wiring, this became a different and separate issue that was not covered under the warranty, even though the light bulb would not turn on. Tech said as it was a weekend He would have to charge the emergency cost plus the service call cost for a total of $700.00 to come to my home. My garage control and garage door were not working with the cars inside the garage, as a result of the light bulb the tech came out twice to fix. The tech called his office and told me his boss, Owner, Joe Scerbo, backed up his tech. I found a faulty circuit breaker. I bought a replacement for $10.00 and installed it myself. The $10.00 circuit breaker fixed the issue and all electrical items in the breaker circuit work fine, I can use my garage door controller and my garage door, too. I saved myself $690.00 and I never received reimbursement for not being able to fix the light bulb in small utility hallway. I would never use Gentec again.
