Description of Work: I called about a week before because several contractors messed up electrical they installed and the breakers were randomly tripping. We couldn't pin point why and Gentec said they could send someone out that was should be able to figure it out. The tech called on his way. He was a tiny bit late because the job before ran over and asked if it was still ok to come or if the appointment should be rescheduled - I thought that was nice to hear. Most places don't care and assume you can sit around all day (this time I could xD). He arrived and looked a the the breaker box and the different circuits we were having issues with. He found the the contactors had used the wrong breakers (would have been the right breakers if we had the panel replaced but since it's still chugging along, we opted not to) so he replaced the 3 beakers and we have been trip free for 4 days!!! They also gave us a warranty on the work so if they should trip in the next 5 years, they will fix the issue. He left us with a folder of license info for piece of mind, as well as, seasonal suggested maintenance for the electrical and heating/HVAC system that I never even thought of. Love this place!!!

Description of Work: We purchased the coupon 237.50 - when the company came out to give the estimate they said there would be an additional fee of $189 for 5 ft of conduit that would be required. Also - made the appointment for 9am - no one showed up. They never called me to let me know someone was running late - Finally called the company around 10 and the owner said he'd be out within 10 minutes, and he took another 45 minutes to show up. Not a good experience.

Description of Work: I had two things. I had a bathroom light. The socket had gone out. He did not have the part on his truck. He told me what I needed to do, so I was able to take care of it myself. I also had a transformer that was out.

Description of Work: Jeramy and Chad were great to work with! We purchased our home in mid-July and we were trying to get a handful of projects done in a very short period of time before we moving into the house at the beginning of August. The house was built in the early 70s and there were only two cable outlets in the house, one of which was no longer functioning. The previous owners had exposed cable wires with splitters running along the baseboards and up from under the carpet throughout the entire house. While it functioned, it definitely wasn't visually pleasing, so we contacted Gentec to remove the old wiring and run new cable wiring inside the walls from each room directly to the home base outside of our garage without any splitters. In addition, they installed an electrical outlet and cable outlet above our fireplace, installed new cable outlets in the two spare bedrooms, and relocated the cable outlet in the master bedroom. Because we have high vaulted ceilings in a couple rooms and no crawl space under the house, Chad wasn't sure that he'd be able to complete the entire project in one day, but he and one other employee managed to get it done! We are thrilled with the work they did and can't speak more highly of their punctuality and professionalism! I was especially impressed when Chad said he'd return the next day (on a Saturday!) to complete the job if they couldn't get it done in one day. I'm not really sure how their prices compare to other businesses because we did not have much time to "shop around." However, considering the amount of work they did for us and just how accommodating they were with our not-so-flexible schedule, it was money well-spent and I'd definitely recommend them to others!

Description of Work: I asked for an estimate to install a dining room light, "type of chandelier", the wiring and switch already in place. Their cost was $660.00, and would have been $120 more for switch and wiring, I considered that estimate too expensive.

Description of Work: They fixed a pendant light. It went well. They came back when connection was bad(free of charge). Technician was professional and Clean. Good experience.

Description of Work: Quick and inexpensive because they just replaced my original smoke detectors that were connected to the house's electrical system with battery powered ones.

Description of Work: The electrician, Al, diagnosed the cause of our partial power loss and outlined what inspections etc would be needed. He then made a temporary connection bringing power to the refrigerator. When the city inspector arrived, Al was on hand to answer questions after which PG& E came to restore permanent power. When all was finished, the company called to check that what needed to be done was completed. It was very efficient and satisfactory.
